High pressure diecasting (HPDC) is widely used to mass produce metal components that are required to have close dimensional tolerances and smooth surface finishes. One disadvantage, however, is that parts produced by conventional HPDC are relatively porous. Intemal pores arise because of shrinkage porosity during solidification, as well as the presence of entrapped gases such as air, hydrogen or vapours formed from the decomposition of die wall lubricants. Castings made from HPDC aluminium alloys are not considered to be amenable to heat treatment. This follows because the internal pores containing gas or gas forming compounds expand during conventional solution treatment at high temperatures resulting in the formation of surface blisters on the castings.  相似文献

2014-40.Porous ceramic body and method for turbine engine compinents with internal passages or cavitiesThe invention presents a method of forming a porous ceramic body. The method includes providing a moldable material that is a mixture of a ceramic material, a binder material and a filler material comprising carbon nanotubes. The moldable material is then formed into a desired shape of a green ceramic body. The green ceramic body is then thermally treated to remove the binder material and the carbon nanotubes. The thermally treated green ceramic body is then sintered to form the porous ceramic body. The removal of the carbon nanotubes leaves the ceramic body with nanopores. The invention also presents a method of investment casting using the porous ceramic body as an investment casting core, in which a liquid metallic material is cast and then solidified around the porous ceramic body.  相似文献
