We establish a connection between anomalous heat conduction and anomalous diffusion in one-dimensional systems. It is shown that if the mean square of the displacement of the particle is =2Dt(alpha)(01) implies anomalous heat conduction with a divergent thermal conductivity (beta>0). More interestingly, subdiffusion (alpha<1) implies anomalous heat conduction with a convergent thermal conductivity (beta<0), and, consequently, the system is a thermal insulator in the thermodynamic limit. A summary of detailed isothermal magnetization along with the ac susceptibility measurements on Ce(Fe0.93Ru0.07)2 is presented. Near the first-order transition, i.e. near 110 K, Ce(Fe0.93Ru0.07)2 displays a large positive magnetic entropy change, ΔSm, of 7.8 J/kg K in fields of only 2 T, i.e. it displays a strong inverse magnetocaloric (MCE) effect, as expected, on entering an antiferromagnetic (AF) state. However, the variation of the magnitude and width of this entropy change with field are anomalous when compared with model predictions, the former increasing with applied field below 2 T, while the latter exceeds 60 K in a field of 8 T.  相似文献

We study anomalous heat conduction and anomalous diffusion in low-dimensional systems ranging from nonlinear lattices, single walled carbon nanotubes, to billiard gas channels. We find that in all discussed systems, the anomalous heat conductivity can be connected with the anomalous diffusion, namely, if energy diffusion is sigma(2)(t)=2Dt(alpha) (01) implies an anomalous heat conduction with a divergent thermal conductivity (beta>0), and more interestingly, a subdiffusion (alpha<1) implies an anomalous heat conduction with a convergent thermal conductivity (beta<0), consequently, the system is a thermal insulator in the thermodynamic limit. We report upper critical field B(c2)(T) measurements on a single-crystalline sample of the ferromagnetic superconductor UCoGe. B(c2)(0) obtained for fields applied along the orthorhombic axes exceeds the Pauli limit for B parallela,b and shows a strong anisotropy B(c2)(a) approximately B(c2)(b)>B(c2)(c). This provides evidence for an equal-spin pairing state and a superconducting gap function of axial symmetry with point nodes along the c axis, which is also the direction of the uniaxial ferromagnetic moment m(0)=0.07micro(B). An unusual curvature or kink is observed in the temperature variation of B(c2) which possibly indicates UCoGe is a two-band ferromagnetic superconductor.  相似文献

Effects of normal-state resistivity rho(n) on the vortex phase diagram at low temperature T have been studied based on dc and ac complex resistivities for thick amorphous MoxSi(1-x) films. It is commonly observed irrespective of rho(n) that, in the limit T=0, the vortex-glass-transition line B(g)(T) is independent of T and extrapolates to a field below the T=0 upper critical field B(c2)(0), indicative of the quantum-vortex-liquid (QVL) phase in the regime B(g)(0)相似文献

We report an extremely high upper critical field B(c2) in the noncentrosymmetric heavy fermion superconductor CeRhSi3 for a magnetic field B along the tetragonal c axis. B(c2)(T=0) possibly reaching 30 T is much higher than B(c2)(0)=7 T for B perpendicular c and greatly exceeds the paramagnetic limiting field. The strong anisotropy of B(c2)(0) with extremely high B(c2)(0) for B || c is qualitatively explained by the paramagnetic pair-breaking mechanism specific to the noncentrosymmetric superconductor. However, an unusual B(c2)(T) curve with a positive curvature for B || c cannot be explained satisfactorily by conventional orbital pair-breaking models.  相似文献

The low-temperature thermal expansion of CeCoIn(5) single crystals measured parallel and perpendicular to magnetic fields B oriented along the c axis yields the volume thermal-expansion coefficient β. Considerable deviations of β(T) from Fermi-liquid behavior occur already within the superconducting region of the (B, T) phase diagram and become maximal at the upper critical field B(c2)(0). However, β(T) and the Grüneisen parameter Γ are incompatible with a quantum critical point at B(c2)(0), but allow for a quantum criticality shielded by superconductivity and extending to negative pressures for B相似文献

We present new scanning tunneling microscopy measurements in the superconductor TmNi2B2C. The topography shows in some areas flat surfaces, where atomic size modulations can be identified. We find a hexagonal vortex lattice between 0.15 T and 1.4 T, when the magnetic field is applied along the basal plane of the tetragonal crystal structure (B⊥c)(Bc), and a hexagonal to square transition around 0.15 T when the field is applied along the c  -axis (B‖c)(Bc). Measured intervortex distance are smaller than expected at high field, due to the internal field being larger than the applied field.  相似文献

At low temperature, macroscopic properties of URu(2)Si(2) display a characteristic energy scale delta(0)(B) which decreases when a magnetic field is applied, and eventually vanishes at an extrapolated value of the field of about 40 T. We have performed inelastic neutron scattering measurements of the magnetic dynamics of URu(2)Si(2) in applied fields along the c axis of intensities up to 12 T. We show that delta(0)(B) is not related to gaps in the magnetic fluctuations spectra. This provides direct evidence of the fact that two distinct energy scales govern the physics of this compound.  相似文献

It is shown that a coordinate system with simple coordinate conditions can be chosen such that one can explicitly see that the Schwarzschildian mass of an asymptotically Euclidian time-symmetrical system of gravitational waves is equal to zero. The upper critical field, H(c2), of Mg(B1-xCx)(2) has been measured in order to probe the maximum magnetic field range for superconductivity that can be attained by C doping. Carbon doped MgB2 filaments were prepared, and for carbon levels below 4% the transition temperatures are depressed by about 1 K/% C and H(c2)(T=0) rises by about 5 T/% C. This means that 3.8% C substitution will depress T(c) from 39.2 to 36.2 K and raise H(c2)(T=0) from 16.0 to 32.5 T. These rises in H(c2) are accompanied by a rise in resistivity at 40 K from about 0.5 to about 10 microOmega cm.  相似文献

The magnetic-field-induced 3D ordered phase of the two-leg spin ladder Cu2(C5H12N2)2Cl4 has been probed through measurements of 1H NMR spectra and 1/T1 in the temperature range 70 mK-1.2 K. The second order transition line T(c)(H) has been determined between H(c1) = 7.52 T and H(c2) = 13.5 T and varies as (H-H(c1))(2/3) close to H(c1). From the observation of anomalous shifts and a crossover in 1/T1 above T(c), the mechanism of the 3D transition is argued to be magnetoelastic as in spin-Peierls chains, here involving a displacement of the protons along the longitudinal exchange ( J( parallel)) path.  相似文献

We present high resolution heat capacity measurements of the organic superconductors kappa-(ET)(2)Cu[N(CN)(2)]Br and kappa-(ET)(2)Cu(NCS)(2) in fields up to 14 T. We use the high field data to determine the normal state specific heat and hence extract the behavior of the electronic specific heat C(el) in the superconducting state in zero and finite fields. We find that in both materials for T/T(c) less or similar 0.3, C(el)(H=0) approximately T2 indicating d-wave superconductivity. The data are well described by a strong coupling d-wave model from our base temperature (T/T(c) approximately 0.1) right up to T(c). Our data help to resolve the controversy regarding the order parameter symmetry in these materials.  相似文献

We calculate theon-shell fermion wave-function renormalization constantZ 2 of a general gauge theory, to two loops, inD dimensions and in an arbitrary covariant gauge, and find it to be gauge-invariant. In QED this is consistent with the dimensionally regularized version of the Johnson-Zumino relation: d logZ 2/da 0=i(2)D e 0 2 d D k/k 4=0. In QCD it is, we believe, a new result, strongly suggestive of the cancellation of the gauge-dependent parts of non-abelian UV and IR anomalous dimensions to all orders. At the two-loop level, we find that the anomalous dimension F of the fermion field in minimally subtracted QCD, withN L light-quark flavours, differs from the corresponding anomalous dimension of the effective field theory of a static quark by the gauge-invariant amount

We report the anisotropic changes in the electronic structure of a Kondo semiconductor CeOs(2)Al(10) across an anomalous antiferromagnetic ordering temperature (T(0)) of 29 K, using optical conductivity spectra. The spectra along the a and c axes indicate that an energy gap due to the hybridization between conduction bands and nearly local 4f states, namely the c-f hybridization gap, emerges from a higher temperature continuously across T(0). Along the b axis, on the other hand, another energy gap with a peak at 20 meV becomes visible at 39 K (>T(0)) and fully opens at T(0) because of a charge instability. This result implies that the appearance of the energy gap, as well as the change in the electronic structure along the b axis, induces the antiferromagnetic ordering below T(0).  相似文献

We have observed exclusive γγ production in proton-antiproton collisions at √s=1.96 TeV, using data from 1.11±0.07 fb(-1) integrated luminosity taken by the Run II Collider Detector at Fermilab. We selected events with two electromagnetic showers, each with transverse energy E(T)>2.5 GeV and pseudorapidity |η|<1.0, with no other particles detected in -7.4<η<+7.4. The two showers have similar E(T) and azimuthal angle separation Δφ~π; 34 events have two charged particle tracks, consistent with the QED process ppˉ→p+e(+)e(-)+pˉ by two-photon exchange, while 43 events have no charged tracks. The number of these events that are exclusive π(0)π(0) is consistent with zero and is <15 at 95% C.L. The cross section for ppˉ→p+γγ+pˉ with |η(γ)|<1.0 and E(T)(γ)>2.5 GeV is 2.48(-0.35)(+0.40)(stat)(-0.51)(+0.40)(syst) pb.  相似文献

The striped cuprate La(2-x)Ba(x)CuO(4) (x=1/8) undergoes several transitions below the charge-ordering temperature T(co)=54 K. From Nernst experiments, we find that, below T(co), there exists a large, anomalous Nernst signal e(N,even)(H,T) that is symmetric in field H, and remains finite as H→0. The time-reversal violating signal suggests that, below T(co), vortices of one sign are spontaneously created to relieve interlayer phase frustration.  相似文献

We report precision transverse fieldSR measurements of the internal field distribution in the vortex state of crystalline YBa2Cu3O6.95. A novel low background apparatus was used to study a mosaic sample of three high quality single crystals (Tc=93.3K). The observed frequency spectra in magnetic fields of 5kG and 15 kG applied along the c-axis have the characteristic features expected for a regular vortex lattice with some additional broadening. From a preliminary analysis we find that [(0)/(T)]2 has a linear temperature coefficient forT<30 K. Such a term is inconsistent with simple s-wave pairing in the superconducting state. These results support recent microwave measurements of(T) on similar crystals in zero applied field but differ significantly from previousSR reports on sintered powders and crystals with lower Tc.This research was supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.  相似文献

With the inclusion of a single gluon magnetic exchange term, the M.I.T. static spherical cavity spectrum of \(q^2 \bar q^2 \) bag eigenstates contains a pair of nearly degenerateJ P=0+ states in both theI=0 and 1 channels; possibly associated with theS *(980) and δ(980). The effect of pair annihilation-induced mixing on these states is investigated and is shown to result in radical changes. For small mixing the bag energy curves have two minima. As the mixing strength is increased, one of these minima disappears and is replaced by a new higher lying state.  相似文献
