基于Wi-Fi的室外无线网状网因具有高带宽、低价格、可扩展、易维护等优势.近年来在热点覆盖、无线城市等领域的应用迅速发展,其低成本优势也使室外无线网状网成为农村无线宽带覆盖的最有竞争力技术之一.中国科学院计算技术研究所在北京怀柔区渤海镇北沟成功地建设了一个覆盖130多个用户的无线网状网.本文讲述在建设中遇到的问题与积累的经验,以及关于建设宽带Wi-Fi乡村的技术和商业问题的探讨.由于用户需求的刚性,作者认为在农村发展宽带无线网络比无线城市更有优势.  相似文献

农村无线宽带覆盖已是农村信息化建设的重中之重,然而目前的覆盖技术均难以满足农村高速率、远距离的需求,为解决以上问题提出了GSM-HI技术,在原有GSM网络基础上进行宽带化演进升级,实现了GSM远覆盖和LTE高速率的优势结合,并通过测试验证了GSM-HI对室外及室内良好的覆盖性能。GSM-HI技术满足农村无线宽带覆盖需求的同时降低了建设成本,对于农村无线宽带建设具有一定的指导意义。  相似文献

Wireless LANs with their increased data rate become an attractive technology for connecting mobile users to the Internet. Efficient deployment of wireless LANs will require the ability to extend the wireless LANs coverage without the need to deploy a very large number of access points. Mesh-based wireless LANs are an attractive solution to this problem. These networks extend wireless LAN coverage by using each node in the network as a router, resulting in a multihop topology. In this paper we introduce a novel routing algorithm, wireless mesh routing (WMR), that provides quality-of-service (QoS) support and accounts for the characteristics of both infrastructure-based wireless LANs and ad hoc networks. The algorithm is validated using the OPNET modeler. The simulation results show that the mesh network using WMR protocol can provide QoS support and react dynamically to the network status changes with low control overheads. Using the proposed software architecture the proposed routing protocol can be implemented with any MAC protocol, resulting in easy implementation in existing wireless nodes.  相似文献

Users of future generation wireless information services will have diverse needs for voice, data, and potentially even video communications in a wide variety of circumstances. For users in dense, inner-city areas, low power personal communications services (PCS) technology should be ideal. Vehicular-based users travelling at high speeds will need high-power cellular technology. For users in remote or inaccessible locations, or for applications that are broadcast over a wide geographic area, a satellite technology would be the best choice. Packet data networks provide an excellent solution for users requiring occasional small messages, whereas circuit switched networks provide more economical solutions for larger messages. To provide ubiquitous personal communications service, it is necessary to capitalize on the strength of each wireless technology and network to create one seamless internetwork including both current and future wired and wireless networks. As an initial step in exploring the opportunities afforded by the merging of satellite and terrestrial networks, Bellcore and JPL conducted several experiments. These experiments utilized Bellcore's experimental personal communications system (including several messaging applications with adaptations to wireless networks), NASA's advanced communications technology satellite (ACTS), JPL's ACTS mobile terminal, and various commercial data networks (such as the wireline Internet and the RAM wireless packet data network). Looking at loss of bits, packets and higher layer blocks (over the satellite-terrestrial internetworks with mobile and stationary users under various conditions) our initial results indicate that the communication channel can vary dramatically, even within a single network. We show that these conditions necessitate powerful and adaptive protocols if we are to achieve a seamless internetworking of satellite and terrestrial networks.  相似文献

In this paper, the mesh wireless network established by Cheetah Wireless Technologies Inc. is discussed. Cheetah's mobile wireless network is one of the first municipal installations to use mesh wireless technology, which allows users to access the Internet anywhere within the coverage area even if they're driving at 100 kph. Mesh networks have several key advantages over traditional wireless solutions, such as Wi-Fi or cellphones. Benefits include higher speeds, less susceptibility to radio interference, and greater resistance to network congestion. These networks also offer better coverage, the ability to prioritize different types of users, geolocation capabilities, tighter security, faster deployment, and a degree of immunity to catastrophic network failures.  相似文献

The growing deployment rate of wireless LANs indicates that wireless networking is rapidly becoming a prevalent form of communication. As users become more accustomed to the use of mobile devices, they increasingly want the additional benefit of roaming. The Mobile IP protocol has been developed as a solution for allowing users to roam outside of their home networks while still retaining network connectivity. The problem with this solution, however, is that the deployment of foreign agents is expensive because their coverage areas are limited due to fading and interference. To reduce the number of foreign agents needed while still maintaining the same coverage, ad hoc network functionality can cooperate with Mobile IP such that multihop routes between mobile nodes and foreign agents can be utilized. In this work, we present a method for enabling the cooperation of Mobile IP and the Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol, such that mobile nodes that are not within direct transmission range of a foreign agent can still obtain Internet connectivity. In addition, we describe how duplicate address detection can be used in these networks to obtain a unique co-located care-of address when a foreign agent is not available.  相似文献
