We study the global stability in determination of a coefficient in an acoustic equation from data of the solution in a subboundary over a time interval. Providing regular initial data and values of coefficients in a neighbourhood of the boundary, without any assumption on an observation subboundary, we prove the logarithmic stability estimate in the inverse problem with a single measurement. Moreover the exponent in the stability estimate depends on the regularity of initial data.  相似文献

Stationary thermography can be used for investigating the functional form of a nonlinear cooling law that describes heat exchanges through an inaccessible part of the boundary of a conductor. In this paper, we obtain a logarithmic stability estimate for the associated nonlinear inverse problem. This stability estimate is obtained from the convergence and sensitivity analysis of a finite difference method for the numerical solution of the Cauchy problem for Laplace's equation, based on the Störmer–Verlet scheme.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the inverse problem of determining the potential of the dynamical Schrödinger equation in a bounded domain from the data of the solution in a subboundary over a time interval. Assuming that in a neighborhood of the boundary of the spatial domain, the potential is known and without any assumption on the dynamics (i.e. without the geometric optics condition for the observability), we prove a logarithmic stability estimate for the inverse problem with a single measurement on an arbitrarily given subboundary.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish a Carleman estimate for a strongly damped wave equation in order to solve a coefficient inverse problems of retrieving a stationary potential from a single time‐dependent Neumann boundary measurement on a suitable part of the boundary. This coefficient inverse problem is for a strongly damped wave equation. We prove the uniqueness and the local stability results for this inverse problem. The proof of the results relies on Carleman estimate and a certain energy estimates for hyperbolic equation with strongly damped term. Moreover, this method could be used for a similar inverse problem for an integro‐differential equation with hyperbolic memory kernel. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the stability of two inverse boundary value problems in an infinite slab with partial data. These problems have been studied by Li and Uhlmann for the case of the Schrödinger equation and by Krupchyk, Lassas, and Uhlmann for the case of the magnetic Schrödinger equation. Here, we quantify the method of uniqueness proposed by Li and Uhlmann and prove a log–log stability estimate for the inverse problems associated to the Schrödinger equation. The boundary measurements considered in these problems are modeled by partial knowledge of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map: in the first inverse problem, the corresponding Dirichlet and Neumann data are known on different boundary hyperplanes of the slab; in the second inverse problem, they are known on the same boundary hyperplane of the slab.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate an inverse problem of determining a shape of a part of the boundary of a bounded domain in by a solution to a Cauchy problem of the Laplace equation. Assuming that the unknown part is a Lipschitz continuous surface, we give a logarithmic conditional stability estimate in determining the part of boundary under reasonably a priori information of an unknown part. The keys are the complex extension and estimates for a harmonic measure.

In this article we consider the inverse problem of identifying a time dependent unknown coefficient in a parabolic problem subject to initial and non-local boundary conditions along with an overspecified condition defined at a specific point in the spatial domain. Due to the non-local boundary condition, the system of linear equations resulting from the backward Euler approximation have a coefficient matrix that is a quasi-tridiagonal matrix. We consider an efficient method for solving the linear system and the predictor–corrector method for calculating the solution and updating the estimate of the unknown coefficient. Two model problems are solved to demonstrate the performance of the methods.  相似文献

We study an inverse boundary value problem for the Helmholtz equation using the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. We consider piecewise constant wave speeds on an unknown tetrahedral partition and prove a Lipschitz stability estimate in terms of the Hausdorff distance between partitions.  相似文献

A coefficient inverse problem of the one-dimensional hyperbolic equation with overspecified boundary conditions is solved by the finite difference method. The computation is carried out in the x direction instead of the usual t direction. The original boundary condition and the overspecified boundary data are used as the new initial conditions, and the original data at t = 0 are used to compute the coefficient directly. The computation time used by this scheme is almost equal to that for solving the hyperbolic equation in the same region once, even though the inverse problem is essentially nonlinear and hence more difficult to solve. An error estimate is obtained that guarantees the stability of the scheme marching in the x direction. Several numerical experiments are carried out to show the convergence and other properties of the scheme. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

In this article, we present an inverse problem for the nonlinear 1D Kuramoto–Sivashinsky (KS) equation. More precisely, we study the nonlinear inverse problem of retrieving the anti-diffusion coefficient from the measurements of the solution on a part of the boundary and also at some positive time in the whole space domain. The Lipschitz stability for this inverse problem is our main result and it relies on the Bukhge?m–Klibanov method. The proof is indeed based on a global Carleman estimate for the linearized KS equation.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We prove logarithmic stability in the parabolic inverse problem of determining the space-varying factor in the source, by a single partial boundary measurement of the solution to the heat equation in an infinite closed waveguide, with homogeneous initial and Dirichlet data.  相似文献

In this article we study, in dimension n?≥?3, the inverse problem of determining the potential q of the Schrödinger equation from infinity measurements on any open subset Γ0 of the boundary. Provided that q is known in a neighborhood of the boundary, we prove the logarithmic stability estimate.  相似文献

In Bellassoued, Choulli and Yamamoto (2009) [4] we proved a log-log type stability estimate for a multidimensional inverse spectral problem with partial spectral data for a Schrödinger operator, provided that the potential is known in a small neighbourhood of the boundary of the domain. In the present paper we discuss the same inverse problem. We show a log type stability estimate under an additional condition on potentials in terms of their X-ray transform. In proving our result, we follow the same method as in Alessandrini and Sylvester (1990) [1] and Bellassoued, Choulli and Yamamoto (2009) [4]. That is we relate the stability estimate for our inverse spectral problem to a stability estimate for an inverse problem consisting in the determination of the potential in a wave equation from a local Dirichlet to Neumann map (DN map in short).  相似文献

This paper deals with an inverse monopolar source problem for the Poisson equation, from interior measurements, whose motivation lies in the sea water intrusion phenomenon. Global logarithmic stability estimates of locations and intensities for monopolar sources in this equation are established. To do that, we make an appropriate choice of a test function allowing to show a stability estimate with respect to boundary conditions and then we use an observability inequality for Laplace equation to control it by the interior measurements. This reveals, on the one hand, the distance between the source and on the other hand the gap between the associated measures.  相似文献

We consider an inverse parabolic problem. We prove that the heat radiative coefficient, the initial temperature and a boundary coefficient can be simultaneously determined from the final overdetermination, provided that the heat radiative coefficient is a priori known in a small subdomain. Moreover we establish a stability estimate for this inverse problem.  相似文献

We give an instability estimate for the Gel'fand inverse boundary value problem at high energies. Our instability estimate shows an optimality of several important preceding stability results on inverse problems of such a type.  相似文献

We study the inverse problem of determining a real-valued potential in the two-dimensional Schrödinger equation at negative energy from the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. It is known that the problem is ill-posed and a stability estimate of logarithmic type holds. In this article, we prove three new stability estimates. The main feature of the first one is that the stability increases exponentially with respect to the smoothness of the potential, in a sense to be made precise. The others show how the first estimate depends on the energy. In particular it is found that for high energies the stability estimate changes, in some sense, from logarithmic type to Lipschitz type: in this sense the ill-posedness of the problem decreases with increasing energy (in modulus).  相似文献

We consider the identification of a nonlinear corrosion profile from single voltage boundary data and show injectivity of the parameter-to-output map. We demonstrate that Tikhonov regularization can be applied in order to solve the inverse problem in a stable manner despite the presence of noisy data. In combination with a logarithmic stability estimate for the underlying Cauchy problem, rates for the convergence of the regularized solutions are proven using a source condition that does not involve the Fréchet derivative of the parameter-to-output map. We present sufficient conditions for the existence of a source function and illustrate our approach by means of numerical examples.  相似文献

One of the basic inverse problems in an anisotropic media is the determination of coefficients in a bounded domain with a single measurement. We consider the problem of finding the coefficient of the second derivatives in a second-order hyperbolic equation with variable coefficients.

Under a weak regularity assumption and a geometrical condition on the metric, we prove the uniqueness in a multidimensional hyperbolic inverse problem with a single measurement. Moreover we show that our uniqueness results yield the Lipschitz stability estimate in L 2 space for solution to the inverse problem under consideration.  相似文献

We are concerned with the problem of determining the damping boundary coefficient appearing in a dissipative wave equation from a single boundary measurement. We prove that uniqueness holds at the origin provided that the initial condition is appropriately chosen. We show that the choice of the initial condition leading to uniqueness is related to a fine version of the unique continuation property for elliptic operators. We also establish a Lipschitz directional stability estimate at the origin, which is obtained by a linearization process.  相似文献
