Low-dimensional compounds containing cyano groups. XVIII. Two-dimensional network made of [Cu(tmen)]2+ moieties (tmen = tetramethylethylenediamine) connected by [Pt(CN)4]2− anions with three different bridging cyano groups

The polymeric complex, {[Cu(tmen)][Pt(CN)₄]}_n (tmen = tetramethylethylenediamine) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, single-crystal structure analysis and by measurement of magnetic properties. Four ν(C  N) absorption bands have been recorded in the infrared spectrum of this compound, what corresponds with four different types of cyano groups in the structure. Crystal structure revealed that one cyano group is terminal whereas three crystallographically different cyano groups of [Pt(CN)₄]^2? anions bridge Pt(II) and Cu(II) atoms to form a two-dimensional structure with a weak antiferromagnetic exchange coupling.     

[Ru(CO)(CH3CO2)(tpa)]ClO4·C6H5CH3 (tpa=tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine), the first ruthenium carbonyl complex of tpa

The reaction of dodecacarbonyltriruthenium with tris(2-pyridylmethyl)ammonium perchlorate (tpa·3HClO₄), in the presence of acetic acid, afforded a new ruthenium complex of tpa, [Ru(CO)(CH₃CO₂)(tpa)]ClO₄·C₆H₅CH₃ (1). Compound 1 has been characterized by X-ray structural analysis, IR and ¹H NMR spectra.     

[Re(NBH2SBH3)(Me2PhP)(Et2dtc)]2 — a novel rhenium dimer with the unusual bridging (NBH2SBH3)4− ligand

The title compound is formed during the reaction of [ReN(Me₂PhP)(Et₂dtc)₂] (Me₂PhP=dimethylphenylphosphine, Et₂dtc⁻=diethyldithiocarbamate) with excess BH₃ in tetrahydrofurane. Two Re^V atoms are linked by two (NBH₂SBH₃)⁴⁻ units which act as three-dentate ligands via N, S and H forming an eight-membered metallacycle with additional coordination of an hydrido H atom trans to the nitrogen atom. The ReN multiple bond length is 1.70(1) Å which is only slightly longer than in the starting compound [ReN(Me₂PhP)(Et₂dtc)₂] (1.666(6) Å).     

Synthesis,structural characterization and properties of a novel 1D helical chain arsenomolybdate {[Cu(en)2][Cu(en)(H2O)][(Cu(en)2(H2O)] [AsIIIAsVMo9O34)]} · 2H2O

An organic–inorganic hybrid 1D helical chain arsenomolybdate {[Cu(en)₂][Cu(en)(H₂O)][(Cu(en)₂(H₂O)] [As^IIIAs^VMo₉O₃₄)]} · 2H₂O (1) (en = ethylenediamine) has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV and CD spectrum, powder X-ray diffraction, TG-DTA and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The asymmetric unit of 1 consists of a monocapped trivacant Keggin [As^IIIAs^VMo₉O₃₄]^6 − subunit, a pendant [Cu(en)₂(H₂O)]^2 + cation, a pendant [Cu(en)(H₂O)]^2 + cation, one bridging [Cu(en)₂]^2 + cation and two lattice water molecules. It should be noted that 1 illustrates a one-dimensional (1D) helical chain assembled by {[Cu(en)(H₂O)][(Cu(en)₂(H₂O)][As^IIIAs^VMo₉O₃₄)]}^2 − clusters and [Cu(en)₂]^2 + linkers.     

Hydrothermal synthesis and characterization of a novel two-dimensional framework materials constructed from the polyoxometalates and coordination groups: [As8IIIV14IVO42(CO3)][Cu(en)2]3·10H2O

A new compound [As₈^IIIV₁₄^IVO₄₂(CO₃)][Cu(en)₂]₃·10H₂O (1) has been synthesized from V₂O₅,As₂O₃,CuCl₂·2H₂O, en and H₂C₂O₄·2H₂O in aqueous solution using the hydrothermal method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. X-ray crystallography reveals that 1 is a novel two-dimensional framework material constructed from the mixed As/V polyoxometalates and coordination groups.     

Two intra-molecular inter-ligand C(aromatic)–H⋯O(carboxyl) interactions reinforce the formation of a single Cu(II)–N4(pza) bond in the molecular recognition between pyrazine-2-carboxamide (pza) and the (iminodiacetato)copper(II) chelate. Synthesis,molecular and crystal structure and properties of [Cu(IDA)(pza)(H2O)]·H2O

Aqua(pyrazine-2-carboxamide)(iminodiacetato)copper(II) monohydrate, [Cu(IDA)(pza)(H₂O)]·H₂O, was synthesised and characterised by thermal, spectral, magnetic and X-ray diffraction methods. Its crystal structure was solved to a final R1=0.058. The Cu(II) atom exhibits a square base pyramidal coordination (type 4+1) with IDA ligand in mer-tridentate configuration [Cu–N(aliphatic) 1.986(7), Cu–O(carboxyl) 1.933(6) and 1.938(5) Å], the Cu–N4(pza) bond [1.984(7) Å] and Cu–O(apical aqua) bond [2.347(8) Å]. The N4-monodentate ligand role of pza is in contrast with that of the N,O-bidentate pza-Cu(II) chelation in [Cu(pza)₂(ClO₄)₂] or [Cu(acac)(pza)(ClO₄)]·H₂O. In the molecular recognition between Cu(IDA) chelate and pza the Cu–N4(pyridine-like) coordination mode is preferred because it enables the additional contribution of two weak intra-molecular inter-ligand C(aromatic)–H⋯O (IDA) interactions.
