Form crush dressing of diamond grinding wheels   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Form crush dressing is a method to profile diamond grinding wheels. Especially for complex profiles with intricate details and high accuracy an improved form crush profiling system has been developed. The system consists of a hydrostatically supported form crushing disc embedded in a swiveling axis. Form disc wear, which forms a major bottleneck in reaching high accuracy, has been minimized through the development of an advanced wheel synchronization control strategy. Various vitrified grinding wheels and a crushable metal bonded wheel have been tested to show the general applicability of the method to grinding wheels with brittle bond systems.  相似文献

Metal bonded grinding tools offer a remarkable potential for micro grinding because of their favorable wear behavior. However, metal bonded grinding tools, especially dicing blades, are hard to dress by conventional dressing methods. Electro contact discharge dressing, which is presented in this paper, is a numerically controlled dressing process offering the possibility to create the geometry and topography of the grinding wheel simultaneously at negligible dressing forces. The power of an electric circuit thermally removes the metal bond of the grinding wheel during the dressing process. The quality of the created profiles and the influence of the dressing parameters on the specific material removal rate of the grinding tool as well as the wear of the electrode are investigated at fine-grained grinding wheels.  相似文献

Mechanisms in the generation of grinding wheel topography by dressing   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1  
For the process of dressing vitrified bonded grinding wheels with diamond tools it has been unknown how the wheel topography is generated. Moreover, the influence of the kinematical dressing parameters on the wheel wear behavior has not been quantified. In the course of this article the grinding wheel was dealt with as a porous ceramic composite. In FEM simulations common dressing forces and usual dressing tool geometries were applied. The results were verified by dressing tests and grinding wheel scratch tests which show the wheel wear mechanisms. The common practice of decreasing the grinding wheel surface roughness by a finishing dressing stroke has to be reconsidered, because previous dressing strokes with higher depths of cut can weaken the grinding wheel structure and lead to an unsteady phase with high grinding wheel wear after dressing.  相似文献

The process behaviour of bronze-bonded diamond grinding wheels depends on the selected bond composition and the sintering parameters. Understanding these dependencies is the key to a knowledge-based manufacturing process for grinding wheels. In this study, the wear behaviour of different bond compositions and sintering parameters is investigated. It could be shown that the predominant wear mechanism is mainly grain flattening and that it depends on the critical bond strength. Finally, these findings were used to analyse the workpiece quality in dependence of the variously manufactured grinding wheels. This enables a new approach for the production of load adapted grinding wheels.  相似文献

本文对比研究了金刚石修整笔和旋转金刚石修整工具,在修整超硬磨料砂轮时修整力、工具磨损、修整效率等参数的变化规律,结果表明:超硬磨料砂轮的修整中,旋转金刚石修整工具修整力、修磨效率和磨损等几乎不随修整次数增加发生变化,其原因是修整工作是由整个圆周上金刚石分担,旋转型金刚石修整工具在修整过程中,具有挤压砂轮的作用,使被修整的金刚石砂轮表面具有较好锋利度.结果表明:在优化的修整工艺条件下,旋转金刚石工具可以实现对超硬磨料砂轮的精密修整.  相似文献

A coarse diamond grinding wheel is able to perform smooth surface grinding with high and rigid grain protrusion, but it is very difficult to dress it. Hence, the dry electro-contact discharge (ECD) is proposed to dress #46 diamond grinding wheel for dry grinding of carbide alloy. The objective is to understand micro-topographical removals of diamond grain and metal bond for self-optimizing dressing. First, the pulse power and direct-current (DC) power were employed to perform dry ECD dressing in contrast to mechanical dressing; then the micro-topographies of diamond grains and metal bond were recognized and extracted from measured wheel surface, respectively; finally, the relationship between impulse discharge parameters and micro-topographical removals was investigated with regard to grain cutting parameters, dry grinding temperature and ground surface. It is shown that the dry ECD dressing along with spark discharge removal may enhance the dressing efficiency by about 10 times and dressing ratio by about 34 times against the mechanical dressing along with cutting removal. It averagely increases grain protrusion height by 12% and grain top angle by 23%, leading to a decrease 37% in grinding temperature and a decrease 46% in surface roughness. Compared with the DC-25V power along with arc discharges, the Pulse-25V power removes the metal bond at 0.241 mm3/min by utilizing discharge energy by 73% and diamond grain at 0.013 mm3/min through surface graphitization, respectively, leading to high and uniform grain protrusion. It is confirmed that the impulse discharge parameters are likely to control the microscopic grain protrusion topography for efficient dressing according to their relations to the micro-removal of metal bond.  相似文献

本文采用了D杯形砂轮与碟形砂轮对磨法来修整大直径树脂结合剂碟形金刚石砂轮。在分析研究杯形砂轮修整碟形砂轮的修整原理及修整方式的基础上,用自行研制的专用修整装置,从主轴转速、修整深度、修整工具结合剂类型等方面进行了对比工艺试验研究,总结了杯形砂轮修整碟形砂轮的不同工艺参数与修整效率、修整质量之间的工艺规律。试验结果表明,在本试验条件下主轴转速500r/min,修整深度0.02mm的修整效率较好;细粒度、中等浓度的青铜结合剂杯形金刚石砂轮与粗粒度、高浓度的杯形砂轮修整碟形砂轮相比,后者具有较好的修形效果和修整效率;D杯形砂轮与GC杯形砂轮交替配合使用可以大大提高碟形金刚石砂轮的修形效率和修锐效果。  相似文献

The preparation of vitrified CBN or diamond wheels by truing and dressing has a large influence on the grinding performance. A worn diamond dresser cannot produce sufficient protrusion of cutting grain edges. To reduce the wear of diamond dressers and hence guarantee a desired wheel surface, a novel truing and dressing method, namely, laser-assisted truing and dressing, is proposed and tested to achieve good dressing quality and efficiency. A systematical experimental feasibility study on this newly proposed laser-assisted truing and dressing technique is conducted by investigating truing efficiency, truing accuracy, dresser wear, dressed wheel profiles, and specific forces in comparison with those of the conventional single diamond methods. Experimental results show that the new laser-assisted truing and dressing technique offers a number of advantages over the conventional single-tip diamond dressing and truing method. In addition, the underlying mechanism of the laser truing and dressing process is investigated through the careful analysis of the properties of chips and the microscopic structural characteristics of wheels.  相似文献

To improve accuracy in wire electrical discharge dressing (WEDD), special attention should be given to wire vibration. In this work, the use of a specially designed wire guide is proposed, which is responsible for both ensuring the stability of the wire and improving the efficiency of dielectric delivery to the dressing zone. For carrying out experiments with metal bonded diamond grinding wheels, a WEDD-device was designed, manufactured and integrated into a grinding machine. High erosion material removal rates and dressing accuracy were achieved, thus demonstrating the feasibility and efficient performance of this in situ dressing process.  相似文献

Slotted diamond wheel grinding is a new machining technology. In this paper, an experimental study on the cutting force and the grinding temperature for ceramic face grinding using slotted diamond wheels is presented. Moreover, the empirical relationships related with the material removal rate, the surface roughness, the depth of cut, the wheel speed and the grain size are discussed. With these relationships, a temperature field for face grinding has been built. The work contributes to the fundamental theories for optimal design of slotted diamond wheels.  相似文献

The rapid wear of diamond dressers in truing and dressing of vitrified CBN wheels remains an unsolved problem, and significantly affects the grinding performance of dressed wheels. Through combining laser-induced thermal effects into the process, laser assisted truing and dressing opened a new avenue for reducing the wear rates of diamond dressers. In this study a systematical investigation on the wear properties of diamond dressers in the novel laser assisted truing and dressing has been conducted, including (1) a theoretical analysis of some underlying items in the process of laser irradiation, (2) an experimental investigation of wear rates in the laser assisted truing and dressing, and (3) influences of the HAZ (heat affected zone) left by the last pass of laser assisted dressing. Experimental results show that the wear ratios of diamond dressers in the laser assisted dressing depend on laser power, depth of cut, and feed rate. Moreover, the heating history also has some impact on the wear ratios of diamond dressers.  相似文献

金刚石砂轮机械磨削是砂轮整形的传统方式。砂轮旋转速度以及工具砂轮的进给量是金刚石砂轮机械精密整形的主要工艺参数。通过在超硬材料砂轮整形机床上的大量实验和砂轮磨削力的分析,得到了金属结合剂和树脂结合剂金刚石砂轮精密整形的比较理想的工艺参数;确定了工具砂轮的线速度应在11 m/s左右,工具砂轮轴转速在1 050~1 800 r/min;金刚石砂轮轴转速设定在400~1 000r/min,金刚石砂轮的线速度为2.6~10.5 m/s。同时,分析比较了机械修锐和喷砂修锐的效果。  相似文献

For achieving high material removal rates while grinding free formed surfaces, shape grinding with toroid grinding wheels is favored. The material removal is carried out line by line. The contact area between grinding wheel and workpiece is therefore complex and varying. Without detailed knowledge about the contact area, which is influenced by many factors, the shape grinding process can only be performed sub-optimally. To improve this flexible production process and in order to ensure a suitable process strategy a simulation-tool is being developed. The simulation comprises a geometric-kinematic process simulation and a finite elements simulation. This paper presents basic parts of the investigation, modelling and simulation of the NC-shape grinding process with toroid grinding wheels.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the evaluation of topographical parameters characterizing the influence on the behaviour and finally the process results by applying engineered diamond wheels in machining hard and brittle materials. Here, coarse-grained, single-layered diamond grinding wheels with electroplated abrasive layers and active-brazed, defined grain pattern have been dressed by a special conditioning process and used in precision grinding experiments on optical glass. The characterization of the abrasive layer topography was done by two topographical parameters, the specific total grain plateau area AG,total and the average grain cutting edge width bG,a, determined by 3D-profilometry of replicated abrasive layers after each dressing step.  相似文献

An investigation to explore the possibility of touch dressing of electroplated diamond wheels using a pulsed picosecond laser (ps-laser) beam (Yb:YAG) is presented. The laser beam is irradiated on the wheel to cut the diamond grains within a defined grain protrusion without any thermal damage on the nickel bond. The laser parameters were systematically varied to achieve a reliable touch dressing process. The microscopic investigations prove thermal damages neither on the diamond grain nor on the bond. Series of SiC wheel dressing experiments were carried out to compare mechanical touch dressing of the electroplated diamond wheel with laser dressed wheels.  相似文献

硬质合金具有硬度高、强度好、耐腐蚀和耐磨损的特点,采用传统方法难以满足精密及超精密加工的技术要求.本文采用不同粒度的铸铁结合剂金刚石砂轮ELID镜面磨削硬质合金,得到了不同加工效率以及不同加工表面质量的硬质合金磨削效果,揭示了不同粒度砂轮其磨削性能变化的规律与作用.实验结果表明:在相同的进给量下,粗粒度砂轮的磨削效率较高,能更好地控制工件的尺寸精度.细粒度砂轮则磨削效率较低,但能获得优良的加工表面质量.砂轮表面的氧化膜在磨削过程中扮演非常重要的角色,磨粒的粒径与砂轮表面氧化膜厚度的比值大小决定了砂轮的磨削性能.氧化膜的形成又受到电解参数的影响,可以通过对电解参数的调节实现高效率高精度的ELID磨削.  相似文献

The tool properties of grinding wheels can vary in a wide range due to the variety of processes. The properties, in turn, affect the grinding process and the grinding results. Understanding the interdependencies from the initial manufacturing to the final grinding results is the key to achieve the target-oriented generation of the grinding wheel properties for the grinding task at hand. This paper presents a novel approach to model the interdependencies between the manufacturing of bronze-bonded grinding wheels and the resulting grinding behaviour. The paper systematically reviews experimental research on the performance of cubic boron nitride (CBN) grinding wheels and discusses advantages and difficulties experienced in the application of CBN wheels particularly for internal grinding with fine-grain wheels.The hardness of CBN grains potentially increases re-dress life and improves dimensional stability. The problem is that increased re-dress life increases the importance of avoiding wheel loading, particularly for small-grain wheels. This paper highlights the importance of touch dressing for improved dimensional stability and other operational techniques to maintain an open surface topography of the wheel. The paper also demonstrates the benefit of an open-structured small-grain CBN wheel for precision grinding. Effects on grinding temperature are also illustrated.  相似文献
