Asymptotic behavior of some nonlinear Volterra integral equations

Many people have looked at nonlinear Volterra integral equations of convolution type because they arise in a natural way from heat radiation problems. In this paper the author looks at such problems for systems of equations and looks at conditions for asymptotically constant solutions. Some theorems for comparing solutions are also derived. The theorems are applied to several integral equations derived from heat radiation problems.     

Numerical solutions of two-dimensional nonlinear integral analysis

In this paper, the approximate solutions for two different type of two-dimensional nonlinear integral equations: two-dimensional nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm integral equations and the nonlinear mixed Volterra-Fredholm integral equations are obtained using the Laguerre wavelet method. To do this, these two-dimensional nonlinear integral equations are transformed into a system of nonlinear algebraic equations in matrix form. By solving these systems, unknown coefficients are obtained. Also, some theorems are proved for convergence analysis.Some numerical examples are presented and results are compared with the analytical solution to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed method.     

The existence theorems of the random solutions for random Hammerstein type nonlinear integral equations

This paper deals with the existence theorems of random solutions of random Hammerstein type nonlinear integral equations. These theorems are proved by using the random fixed-point theorems of cone expansion and compression of random operator discussed by Li and Sheng [1].

Liouville theorems for fully nonlinear elliptic equations on spherically symmetric Riemannian manifolds

We prove Hadamard and Liouville type theorems for viscosity supersolutions to fully nonlinear elliptic equations on spherically symmetric complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds.     

Existence of solutions and existence of optimal solutions. The quasi linear case

By properties of operators of the Brezis type (m), monotone operator theory, and fixed point theorems, the authors prove existence theorems for solutions, and existence theorems for optimal solutions, in problems monitored by nonlinear abstract parabolic type equations. Applications are made to Cauchy-Dirichlet and to Cauchy-Neumann problems, in a cylinder. It is shown that seminormality requirements of previous papers can be dropped. In an alternative approach, controllability results are obtained by a direct application of Kakutani type fixed point theorems.     

On generalized impulsive piecewise constant delay differential equations

A variation of parameters formula with Green function type and Gronwall type integral inequality are proved for impulsive differential equations involving piecewise constant delay of generalized type. Some results for piecewise constant linear and nonlinear delay differential equations with impulsive effects are obtained.They include existence and uniqueness theorems, a variation of parameters formula, integral inequalities, the oscillation property and some applications.     

Positive solutions to periodic boundary value problems involving nonlinear operators of Meir-Keeler-type

We establish fixed point theorems for mixed monotone operators of Meir-Keeler type on ordered Banach spaces through projective metric. As applications, we use the fixed point theorems obtained in this paper to study the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for different classes of nonlinear problems which include two-order two-point boundary value problems and fourth-order two-point boundary value problems for elastic beam equations.     

Existence of positive solutions for a system of semipositone coupled discrete boundary value problems

We study the existence of positive solutions for a system of nonlinear second-order difference equations with parameters and sign-changing nonlinearities, subject to multi-point coupled boundary conditions. In the proof of our main theorems we use the nonlinear alternative of Leray-Schauder type and the Guo-Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorem.

在本文中,我们首先对具有随机定义域的弱连续随机算子组证明了一个Darbo型随机不动点定理.利用这一定理,我们对Banach空间中关于弱拓扑的非线性随机Volterra积分方程组给出了随机解的存在性准则.作为应用,我们得到了非线性随机微分方程组的Canchy问题弱随机解的存在定理.也得到了这些随机方程组在Banach空间中关于弱拓扑的极值随机解的存在性和随机比较结果.我们的定理改进和推广了Szep,Mitchell－Smith,Cramer－Lakshmikantham,Lakshmikantham-Leela和丁的相应结果.     

On the Cauchy type problem for systems of functional differential equations

Using theorems on functional differential inequalities, we establish new efficient conditions for the solvability as well as unique solvability of the Cauchy type problem for systems of functional differential equations in both linear and nonlinear cases.     

Existence Theorems and Estimates of Solutions for Equations of Principal Resonance

In this paper, we study systems of nonlinear, nonautonomous, ordinary differential equations that appear in the theory of averaging of nonlinear oscillations. We prove existence theorems for them and obtain conditions under which variables of the type of amplitude (or energy) are uniformly bounded with respect to time.     

Remarks on limit theorems for nonlinear functionals of Gaussian sequences

Summary Limit theorems for sums of nonlinear functionals of Gaussian sequences typically obtain as limit distribution that of a single term in an expansion given by Dobrushin [1] for a process subordinate to a Gaussian process. Here we show how one can obtain limit theorems of this type where the limit distribution is that of a full expansion of Dobrushin's type.This research is supported in part by Office of Naval Research contract N00014-81-K-003 and National Science Foundation Grant No. DMS 83-12106     

The method of contractor directions for partial differential equations

A further development of the concept of contractor directions is presented. An application of the method of specialized contractor directions to local existence theorems for general nonlinear equations and to solutions of some partial differential equations is discussed. An implicit function theorem of the type investigated by Nash, Schwartz and Moser follows.     

On Liouville type theorems for fully nonlinear elliptic equations with gradient term

In this paper, we prove a Hadamard property and Liouville type theorems for viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations with a gradient term, both in the whole space and in an exterior domain.

Conformally invariant fully nonlinear elliptic equations and isolated singularities

We study properties of solutions with isolated singularities to general conformally invariant fully nonlinear elliptic equations of second order. The properties being studied include radial symmetry and monotonicity of solutions in the punctured Euclidean space and the asymptotic behavior of solutions in a punctured ball. Some results apply to more general situations including more general fully nonlinear elliptic equations of second order, and some have been used in a companion paper to establish comparison principles and Liouville type theorems for degenerate elliptic equations.

On the theory of nonlinear singular integral equations of Cauchy type

The paper concerns the investigation of two classes of nonlinear singular integral equations with Cauchy kernel important in the applications. There are given uniqueness and existence theorems, the last by a novel application of Schauder's fixed point theorem to this type of equations.
