A specific ansatz for the Yukawa couplings of a four-generation SU(2)L×U(1) model with two Higgs doublets is discussed which leads to neutral flavour conservation, spontaneous CP violation and to a genuinely complex mixing matrix. W exchange conserves CP in the limit mt′ = mt only. The decay rate for t→b is reduced by factor two compared to the standard model wit three generations. The phenomenological implications for K0−K̄0 and B0−B̄0 are investigated.  相似文献

A left-right symmetric model with two Higgs bi-doublet is shown to be a consistent model for both spontaneous P and CP violation. The flavor changing neutral currents can be suppressed by the mechanism of approximate global U(1) family symmetry. The constraints from neural K meson mass difference Δm K are calculated and it is demonstrated that a right-handed gauge boson W 2 contribution in box-diagrams with mass well below 1 TeV is allowed due to a cancelation caused by a light-charged Higgs boson with a mass range of 150–300 GeV. The W 2 contribution to ε K can be suppressed from an appropriate choice of additional CP phases appearing in the right-handed Cabbibo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix. The model is also found to be fully consistent with B 0 mass difference Δm B and the mixing induced CP violation sin2β J/ Ψ, which is usually difficult for the model with only one Higgs bi-doublet. The new physics beyond the standard model can be directly searched at the colliders LHC and ILC. We give an explicit formula for the proton decay rate in the minimal renormalizable supersymmetric (SUSY) SO(10) model. In this model, the Higgs fields consist of the 10 and SO(10) representations in the Yukawa interactions with matter and of the 10, , 126, and 210 representations in the Higgs potential. We present all the mass matrices for the Higgs fields contained in this minimal SUSY SO(10) model. Finally, we discuss the threshold effects of these Higgs fields on the gauge coupling unification.Received: 8 March 2005, Published online: 8 June 2005PACS: 12.10.-g, 12.10.Dm, 12.10.Kt  相似文献

The multi-Higgs models having spontaneous CP violation (SPCPV) and natural flavor conservation (NFC) lead to a real CKM matrix V contradicting current evidence in favour of a complex V. This contradiction can be removed by using a generalized μτ (called 23) symmetry in place of the discrete symmetry conventionally used to obtain NFC. If the 23 symmetry is exact then the Higgs induced flavour changing neutral currents (FCNC) vanish as in the case of NFC. 23 breaking introduces SPCPV, a phase in V and suppressed FCNC among quarks. The FCNC couplings between i and j generations show a hierarchy with the result that the FCNC can have observable consequences in B mixing without conflicting with the mixing. Detailed fits to the quark masses and the CKM matrix are used to obtain the (complex) couplings and . Combined constraints from flavour and CP violations in the K, Bd, Bs, D mesons are analyzed within the model. They allow (i) relatively light Higgs, 100–150 GeV (ii) measurable extra contributions to the magnitudes and phases of the mixing amplitudes and (iii) the mixing at the current sensitivity level.  相似文献

CP violation can be studied in modes of charmed or bottom baryons when a decay process is compared with its charge-conjugated partner. It can show up as a rate asymmetry and in a study of other decay parameters. Neither tagging nor time-dependences are required to observeCP violation with modes of baryons, in contrast to the conventionalB 0 modes. Numerous modes of bottom baryons have the potential to show largeCP-violating effects within the Standard Model. Those effects can be substantial for modes with aD 0, which is seen in a final state that can also be fed from a \(\bar D^0 \) . For instance, a comparison of theΛ bΛ CP 0 with the \(\bar \Lambda _b \to \bar \Lambda D_{CP}^0 \) process can show sizeableCP violation. HereD CP o denotesCP eigenstates ofD 0, which occur at a few percent. Six related processes, such asΛ bΛD 0, \(\Lambda _b \to \Lambda \bar D^0 \) ,Λ bΛ CP 0 , and their charge-conjugated counterparts, can extract ?, which is the most problematic angle of the unitarity triangle and which is conventionally probed with theB s→ρ0 K S asymmetry. HereD 0 andD ?0 are identified by their charged kaon or lepton. We predictB(Λ bΛD 0)~10?5, thusB(Λ bΛ CP 0 )~10?7. Under favourable circumstances,CP violation can occur at the few tens of percent level. Thus 102–103 Λ bΛ CP 0 decays start probing ?. Tables list many additional modes with typical branching ratios at the 10?5–10?6 level, with large detection efficiencies (in contrast to theD CP 0 ), and with potentially largeCP-violating effects, such as Ξ b 0 →ΛΨ, Λ?, ΛK*0; Ξ b ? →ΛK(*)?, Ξ?Ks, Ξ?K*0, Ω b ? →Ξ?φ, Ξ?ρ0, ΛK(*)?, ΩKs, Ω?K*0.  相似文献

We analyse the general constraints on unified gauge models with spontaneous CP breaking that satisfy the conditions that (i) CP violation in the quark sector is described by a realistic complex CKM matrix, and (ii) there is no significant flavor changing neutral current effects in the quark sector. We show that the crucial requirement in order to conform to the above conditions is that spontaneous CP breaking occurs at a very high scale by complex vevs of standard model singlet Higgs fields. Two classes of models are found, one consisting of pure Higgs extensions and the other one involving fermionic extensions of the standard model. We give examples of each class and discuss their possible embeddings into higher unified theories. One of the models has the interesting property that spontaneous CP violation is triggered by spontaneous P violation, thereby linking the scale of CP violation to the seesaw scale for neutrino masses.  相似文献

We propose the complex group theoretical Clebsch-Gordan coefficients as a novel origin of CP violation. This is manifest in our model based on SU(5) combined with the double tetrahedral group, T. Due to the presence of the doublet representations in T, there exist complex CG coefficients, leading to explicit CP violation in the model, while the Yukawa couplings and the vacuum expectation of the scalar fields remain real. The tri-bimaximal neutrino mixing matrix arises from the CG coefficients of T. In addition to the prediction for , the model gives rise to a sum rule, , which is a consequence of the Georgi-Jarlskog relations in the charged fermion sector. The leptonic Dirac CP violating phase, δ?, is predicted to be ∼227°, which turns out to be the value needed to account for the difference between the experimental best fit value for the solar mixing angle and the TBM prediction. The predicted CP violation measures in the quark sector are also consistent with the current experimental data.  相似文献

The framework of Higgs-dependent Yukawa couplings allows one to eliminate small couplings from the Standard Model, which can be tested at the LHC. In this work, I study the conditions for CP violation to occur in such models. I identify a class of weak basis invariants controlling CP violation. The invariant measure of CP violation is found to be more than 10 orders of magnitude greater than that in the Standard Model, which can be sufficient for successful electroweak baryogenesis.  相似文献
