A series of novel thermoplastic elastomers based on ABA‐type triblock prepolymers, poly[(propylene oxide)–(dimethylsiloxane)–(propylene oxide)] (PPO‐PDMS‐PPO), as the soft segments, and poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT), as the hard segments, was synthesized by catalyzed two‐step melt transesterification of dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) with 1,4‐butanediol (BD) and α,ω‐dihydroxy‐(PPO‐PDMS‐PPO) (M?n = 2930 g mol?1). Several copolymers with a content of hard PBT segments between 40 and 60 mass% and a constant length of the soft PPO‐PDMS‐PPO segments were prepared. The siloxane‐containing triblock prepolymer with hydrophilic terminal PPO blocks was used to improve the compatibility between the polar comonomers, i.e. DMT and BD, and the non‐polar PDMS segments. The structure and composition of the copolymers were examined using 1H NMR spectroscopy, while the effectiveness of the incorporation of α,ω‐dihydroxy‐(PPO‐PDMS‐PPO) prepolymer into the copolyester chains was controlled by chloroform extraction. The effect of the structure and composition of the copolymers on the transition temperatures (Tm and Tg) and the thermal and thermo‐oxidative degradation stability, as well as on the degree of crystallinity, and some rheological properties, were studied. BACKGROUND: To obtain a biodegradable thermoplastic elastomer, a series of poly(ester‐ether)s based on poly(butylene succinate) (PBS) and poly(propylene glycol) (PPG), with various mass fractions and molecular weights of PPG, were synthesized through melt polycondensation. RESULTS: The copolyesters were characterized using 1H NMR, gel permeation chromatography, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, dynamic mechanical analysis, mechanical testing and enzymatic degradation. The results indicated that poly(ester‐ether)s with high molecular weights were successfully synthesized. The composition of the copolyesters agreed very well with the feed ratio. With increasing content of the soft PPG segment, the glass transition temperature decreased gradually while the melting temperature, the crystallization temperature and the relative degree of crystallinity decreased. Mechanical testing demonstrated that the toughness of PBS was improved significantly. The elongation at break of the copolyesters was 2–5 times that of the original PBS. Most of the poly(ester‐ether) specimens were so flexible that they were not broken in Izod impact experiments. At the same time, the enzymatic degradation rate of PBS was enhanced. Also, the difference in molecular weight of PPG led to properties being changed to some extent among the copolyesters. CONCLUSION: The synthesized poly(ester‐ether)s having excellent flexibility and biodegradability extend the application of PBS into the areas where biodegradable thermoplastic elastomers are needed. A series of novel aromatic poly(ester‐ether‐imide)s with inherent viscosity values of 0.44–0.74 dL g?1 were prepared by the diphenylchlorophosphate‐activated direct polycondensation of an imide ring‐containing diacid namely 5‐(4‐trimellitimidophenoxy)‐1‐trimellitimido naphthalene ( 1 ) with various aromatic dihydroxy compounds in the presence of pyridine and lithium chloride. Owing to comparison of the characterization data, an ester‐containing model compound ( 2 ) was also synthesized by the reaction of 1 with phenol. The model compound 2 and the resulted polymers were fully characterized by FT‐IR and NMR spectroscopy. The ultraviolet λmax values of the poly(ester‐ether‐imide)s were also determined. The resulting polymers exhibited an excellent organosolubility in a variety of high polar solvents such as N,N‐dimethylacetamide, N,N‐dimethylformamide, dimethyl sulfoxide, and N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone. They were soluble even in common less polar organic solvents such as pyridine, m‐cresol, and tetrahydrofuran on heating. Crystallinity of the polymers was estimated by means of wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction. The resulted polymers exhibited nearly an amorphous nature. From differential scanning calorimetry thermograms, the polymers showed glass‐transition temperatures between 221 and 245°C. Thermal behaviors of the obtained polymers were characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, and the 10% weight loss temperatures of the poly(ester‐ether‐imide)s were found to be over 410°C in nitrogen. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Functional poly(carbonate‐b‐ester)s were synthesized in buck by ring‐opening polymerization of the carbonate (TMC, MBC, or BMC) with tert‐butyl N‐(2‐hydroxyethyl) carbamate as an initiator, and then with ε‐CL (or ε‐BCL) comonomer. Subsequently, the PMMC‐b‐PCL with pendent carboxyl groups and the PTMC‐b‐PHCL with pendent hydroxyl groups were obtained by catalytic debenzylation. DSC analysis indicated that only one Tg at an intermediate temperature the Tgs of the two polymer blocks. A decrease Tg was observed when an increase contents of ε‐CL incorporated into the copolymers. In contrast, two increased Tms were observed with increasing PCL content. The block copolymers formed micelle in aqueous phase with critical micelle concentrations (cmcs) in the range of 2.23–14.6 mg/L and with the mean hydrodynamic diameters in the range of 100–280 nm, depending on the composition of copolymers. The drug entrapment efficiency and hydrolytic degradation behavior of micelle were also evaluated. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2007  相似文献

In this study, synthesis, characterization, partial hydrolysis, and salt formation of poly(2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate)‐co‐poly(4‐vinyl pyridine), (poly(HEMA)‐co‐poly‐(4‐VP)) copolymers were investigated. The copolymers were synthesized by free radical polymerization using K2S2O8 as an initiator. By varying the monomer/initiator ratio, chain lengths of the copolymers were changed. The copolymers were characterized by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), viscosity measurements, 1H and 13C NMR and FTIR spectroscopies, elemental analysis, and end group analysis methods. The copolymers were partially hydrolyzed by p‐toluene sulfonic acid monohydrate (PTSA·H2O) and washed with LiOH(aq) solution to prepare electrorheological (ER) active ionomers, poly(Li‐HEMA)‐co‐poly(4‐VP). © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Novel amphiphilic ABA‐type poly(D ‐gluconamidoethyl methacrylate)‐b‐polyurethane‐b‐poly(D ‐gluconamidoethyl methacrylate) (PGAMA‐b‐PU‐b‐PGAMA) tri‐block copolymers were successfully synthesized via the combination of the step‐growth and copper‐catalyzed atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). Dihydroxy polyurethane (HO‐PU‐OH) was synthesized by the step‐growth polymerization of hexamethylene diisocyanate with poly(tetramethylene glycol). PGAMA‐b‐PU‐b‐PGAMA block copolymers were synthesized via copper‐catalyzed ATRP of GAMA in N, N‐dimethyl formamide at 20°C in the presence of 2, 2′‐bipyridyl using Br‐PU‐Br as macroinitiator and characterized by 1H‐NMR spectroscopy and GPC. The resulting block copolymer forms spherical micelles in water as observed in TEM study, and also supported by 1H NMR spectroscopy and light scattering. Miceller size increases with increase in hydrophilic PGAMA chain length as revealed by DLS study. The critical micellar concentration values of the resulting block copolymers increased with the increase of the chain length of the PGAMA block. Thermal properties of these block copolymers were studied by thermo‐gravimetric analysis, and differential scanning calorimetric study. Spherical Ag‐nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using these block copolymers as stabilizer. The dimension of Ag nanoparticle was tailored by altering the chain length of the hydrophilic block of the copolymer. A mechanism has been proposed for the formation of stable and regulated Ag nanoparticle using various chain length of hydrophilic PGAMA block of the tri‐block copolymer. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The crystallization kinetics of poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT), poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET), and their copolymers poly(1,4‐butylene‐co‐ethylene terephthalate) (PBET) containing 70/30, 65/35 and 60/40 molar ratios of 1,4‐butanediol/ethylene glycol were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) at crystallization temperatures (Tc) which were 35–90 °C below equilibrium melting temperature . Although these copolymers contain both monomers in high proportion, DSC data revealed for copolymer crystallization behaviour. The reason for such copolymers being able to crystallize could be due to the similar chemical structures of 1,4‐butanediol and ethylene glycol. DSC results for isothermal crystallization revealed that random copolymers had a lower degree of crystallinity and lower crystallite growth rate than those of homopolymers. DSC heating scans, after completion of isothermal crystallization, showed triple melting endotherms for all these polyesters, similar to those of other polymers as reported in the literature. The crystallization isotherms followed the Avrami equation with an exponent n of 2–2.5 for PET and 2.5–3.0 for PBT and PBETs. Analyses of the Lauritzen–Hoffman equation for DSC isothermal crystallization data revealed that PBT and PET had higher growth rate constant Go, and nucleation constant Kg than those of PBET copolymers. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Poly(p‐dioxanone)–poly(ethylene glycol)–poly(p‐dioxanone) ABA triblock copolymers (PEDO) were synthesized by ring‐opening polymerization from p‐dioxanone using poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) with different molecular weights as macroinitiators in N2 atmosphere. The copolymer was characterized by 1H NMR spectroscope. The thermal behavior, crystallization, and thermal stability of these copolymers were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric measurements. The water absorption of these copolymers was also measured. The results indicated that the content and length of PEG chain have a greater effect on the properties of copolymers. This kind of biodegradable copolymer will find a potential application in biomedical materials. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 102:1092–1097, 2006  相似文献

Poly(aryl ether ketone)s (PAEKs) are a class of high‐performance engineering thermoplastics known for their excellent combination of chemical, physical and mechanical properties, and the synthesis of semicrystalline PAEKs with increased glass transition temperatures (Tg) is of much interest. In the work reported, a series of novel copolymers of poly(ether ketone ketone) (PEKK) and poly(ether amide ether amide ether ketone ketone) were synthesized by electrophilic solution polycondensation of terephthaloyl chloride with a mixture of diphenyl ether and N,N′‐bis(4‐phenoxybenzoyl)‐4,4′‐diaminodiphenyl ether (BPBDAE) under mild conditions. The copolymers obtained were characterized using various physicochemical techniques. The copolymers with 10–35 mol% BPBDAE are semicrystalline and have markedly increased Tg over commercially available poly(ether ether ketone) and PEKK due to the incorporation of amide linkages in the main chain. The copolymers with 30–35 mol% BPBDAE not only have high Tg of 178–186 °C, but also moderate melting temperatures of 335–339 °C, having good potential for melt processing. The copolymers with 30–35 mol% BPBDAE have tensile strengths of 102.4–103.8 MPa, Young's moduli of 2.33–2.45 GPa and elongations at break of 11.7–13.2%, and exhibit high thermal stability and good resistance to organic solvents. Physical blends of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and poly(ethylene isophthalate) (PEI), abbreviated PET/PEI (80/20) blends, and of PET and a random poly(ethylene terephthalate‐co‐isophthalate) copolymer containing 40% ethylene isophthalate (PET60I40), abbreviated PET/PET60I40 (50/50) blends, were melt‐mixed at 270°C for different reactive blending times to give a series of copolymers containing 20 mol % of ethylene isophthalic units with different degrees of randomness. 13C‐NMR spectroscopy precisely determined the microstructure of the blends. The thermal and mechanical properties of the blends were evaluated by DSC and tensile assays, and the obtained results were compared with those obtained for PET and a statistically random PETI copolymer with the same composition. The microstructure of the blends gradually changed from a physical blend into a block copolymer, and finally into a random copolymer with the advance of transreaction time. The melting temperature and enthalpy of the blends decreased with the progress of melt‐mixing. Isothermal crystallization studies carried out on molten samples revealed the same trend for the crystallization rate. The effect of reaction time on crystallizability was more pronounced in the case of the PET/PET60I40 (50/50) blends. The Young's modulus of the melt‐mixed blends was comparable to that of PET, whereas the maximum tensile stress decreased with respect to that of PET. All blend samples showed a noticeable brittleness. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 90: 3076–3086, 2003  相似文献

Amphiphilic thermally sensitive poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide)‐block‐poly(tetramethylene carbonate) block copolymers were synthesized by ring‐opening polymerization of tetramethylene carbonate with hydroxyl‐terminated poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNiPAAm) as macro‐initiator in the presence of stannous octoate as catalyst. The synthesis involved PNiPAAm bearing a single terminal hydroxyl group prepared by telomerization using 2‐hydroxyethanethiol as a chain‐transfer agent. The copolymers were characterized using 1H NMR and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. Their solutions show reversible changes in optical properties: transparent below the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) and opaque above the LCST. The LCST depends on the polymer composition and the media. Owing to their amphiphilic characteristics, the block copolymers form micelles in the aqueous phase with critical micelle concentrations (CMCs) in the range 1.11–22.9 mg L?1. Increasing the hydrophobic segment length or decreasing the hydrophilic segment length in the amphiphilic diblock copolymers produces lower CMCs. A core‐shell structure of the micelles is evident from 1H NMR analyses of the micelles in D2O. Transmission electron microscopic analyses of micelle morphology show a spherical structure of both blank and drug‐loaded micelles. The blank and drug‐loaded micelles have an average size of less than 130 nm. Observations show high drug‐entrapment efficiency and drug‐loading content for the drug‐loaded micelles. The two poly(silyl ester)s containing 2,2‐bis(p‐dimethylsiloxy‐phenyl)propane units in the polymer backbones have been prepared via polycondensation reaction of di‐tert‐butyl adipate and di‐tert‐butyl fumarate with 2,2‐bis(p‐chloro dimethylsiloxy‐phenyl)propane to give tert‐butyl chloride as the condensate. The polymerizations were performed under nitrogen at 110°C for 24 h without addition of solvents and catalysts to obtain the poly(silyl ester)s with weight average molecular weights typically ranging from 5000 to 10,000 g/mol. Characterization of the poly(silyl ester)s included 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopies, infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), gel permeation chromatography, and Ubbelohde viscometer. The glass transition temperatures (Tg) of the obtained polymers were above zero because of the introducing 2,2‐bis(p‐dimethylsiloxy‐phenyl)propane units in the polymer backbones. The TGA/DTG results showed that the obtained poly(silyl ester)s were stable up to 180°C and the residual weight percent at 800°C were 18 and 9%, respectively. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel class of wholly aromatic poly(ester‐imide)s, having a biphenylene pendant group, with inherent viscosities of 0.32–0.49 dL g?1 was prepared by the diphenylchlorophosphate‐activated direct polyesterification of the preformed imide‐ring‐containing diacid, 4‐p‐biphenyl‐2,6‐bis(4‐trimellitimidophenyl)pyridine (1) with various aromatic dihydroxy compounds in the presence of pyridine and lithium chloride. A reference diacid, 2,6‐bis(trimellitimido)pyridine (2) without a biphenylene pendant group and two phenylene rings in the backbone, was also synthesized for comparison purposes. At first, with due attention to structural similarity and to compare the characterization data, a model compound (3) was synthesized by the reaction of compound 1 with two mole equivalents of phenol. Moreover, the optimum condition of polymerization reactions was obtained via a study of the model compound synthesis. All of the resulting polymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared and 1H NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The ultraviolet λmax values of the poly(ester‐imide)s were also determined. All of the resulting polymers exhibited excellent solubility in common organic solvents, such as pyridine, chloroform, tetrahydrofuran, and m‐cresol, as well as in polar organic solvents, such as N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone, N,N‐dimethylacetamide, N,N‐dimethylformamide, and dimethyl sulfoxide. The crystalline nature of the polymers obtained was evaluated by means of wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction. The resulting poly(ester‐imide)s showed nearly an amorphous nature, except poly(ester‐imide) derived from 4,4′‐dihydroxy biphenyl. The glass transition temperatures (Tg) of the polymers determined by differential scanning calorimetry thermograms were in the range 298–342 °C. The 10% weight loss temperatures (T10%) from thermogravimetric analysis curves were found to be in the range 433–471 °C in nitrogen. Films of the polymers were also prepared by casting the solutions. The present article discusses the synthesis and various properties of segmented block copolymers with random copolymer segments of poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(propylene oxide) (PEO‐r‐PPO) together with monodisperse amide segments. The PEO‐r‐PPO contained 25 wt % PPO units and the segment presented a molecular weight of 2500 g/mol. The synthesized copolymers were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry, Fourier transform infra‐red spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy and dynamic mechanical thermal analysis. In addition, the hydrophilicity and the contact angles (CAs) were studied. The PEO‐r‐PPO segments displayed a single low glass transition temperature, as well as a low PEO crystallinity and melting temperature, which gave enhanced low‐temperature properties of the copolymer. The water absorption values remained high. In comparison to mixtures of PEO/PPO segments, the random dispersion of PPO units in the PEO segments was more effective in reducing the PEO crystallinity and melting temperature, without affecting the hydrophilicity. Increasing the polyether segment length with terephthalic groups from 2500 to 10,000 g/mol increased the hydrophilicity and the room temperature elasticity. Furthermore, the CAs were found to be low 22–39° and changed with the crosslink density. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 117:1394–1404, 2010  相似文献

Two series of thermoplastic poly(ester–siloxane)s, based on poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) as the soft segment and poly(butylene terephthalate) as the hard segment, were synthesized by two‐step catalyzed transesterification reactions in the melt. Incorporation of soft poly(dimethylsiloxane) segments into the copolyester backbone was accomplished in two different ways. The first series was prepared based on dimethyl terephthalate, 1,4‐butanediol and silanol‐terminated poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS‐OH). For the second series, the PDMS‐OH was replaced by methyl diesters of carboxypropyl‐terminated poly(dimethylsiloxane)s. The syntheses were optimized in terms of both the concentration of catalyst, tetra‐n‐butyl‐titanate (Ti(OBu)4), and stabilizer, N,N′‐diphenyl‐p‐phenylene‐diamine, as well as the reaction time. The reactions were followed by measuring the inherent viscosities of the reaction mixture. The molecular structures of the synthesized poly(ester–siloxane)s were verified by 1H NMR spectroscopy, while their thermal properties were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

A series of hyperbranched poly(amine‐ester)‐co‐D ,L ‐lactide (HPAE‐co‐PLA) copolymer were synthesized by ring‐opening polymerization of D ,L ‐lactide with Sn(Oct)2 as catalyst to a fourth generation branched poly(amine‐ester) (HPAE‐OHs4). The chemical structures of copolymers were determined by FTIR, 1H‐NMR, 13C‐NMR, and TGA. Double emulsion (DE) and nanoprecipitation (NP) method were used to fabricate the nanoparticles of these copolymers encapsulating bovine serum albumin (BSA) as a model. DSC thermo‐grams indicated that the nanoparticles with BSA kept stable below 40°C. Different factors which influence on particular size and encapsulation efficiency (EE) were investigated. Their EE to BSA could reach 97.8% at an available condition. In vitro release behavior of NPs showed a continuous release after a burst release. The stability maintenance of BSA in the nanoparticle release in vitro was also measured via circular dichroism and fluorescence spectrometry. The results showed that the copolymer nanoparticles have a promising potential in protein delivery system. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2010  相似文献

A new family of biodegradable amino‐acid‐based poly(ester amide)s (AA–PEAs) and amino‐acid‐based poly(ether ester amide)s (AA–PEEAs) consisting of reactive pendant functional groups (? COOH or ? NH2) were synthesized from unsaturated AA–PEAs and AA–PEEAs via a thiol–ene reaction in the presence of a radical initiator (2,2′‐azobisisobutyronitrile). The synthetic method was a one‐step reaction with near 100% yields under mild reaction conditions. The resulting functional AA–PEA and AA–PEEA polymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, NMR, and differential scanning calorimetry. These new functional AA–PEA and AA–PEEA derivatives had lower glass‐transition temperatures than the original unsaturated AA–PEA and AA–PEEA polymers, and their solubility in some organic solvents also improved. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly(3‐hydroxy octanoate) (PHO), poly(3‐hydroxy butyrate‐co‐3‐hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV), and linoleic acid were grafted onto chitosan via condensation reactions between carboxylic acids and amine groups. Unreacted PHAs and linoleic acid were eliminated via chloroform extraction and for elimination of unreacted chitosan were used 2 wt % of HOAc solution. The pure chitosan graft copolymers were isolated and then characterized by FTIR, 13C‐NMR (in solid state), DSC, and TGA. Microbial polyester percentage grafted onto chitosan backbone was varying from 7 to 52 wt % as a function of molecular weight of PHAs, namely as a function of steric effect. Solubility tests were also performed. Graft copolymers were soluble, partially soluble or insoluble in 2 wt % of HOAc depending on the amount of free primary amine groups on chitosan backbone or degree of grafting percent. Thermal analysis of PHO‐g‐Chitosan graft copolymers indicated that the plastizer effect of PHO by means that they showed melting transitions Tms at 80, 100, and 113°C or a broad Tms between 60.5–124.5°C and 75–125°C while pure chitosan showed a sharp Tm at 123°C. In comparison of the solubility and thermal properties of graft copolymers, linoleic acid derivatives of chitosan were used. Thus, the grafting of poly(3‐hydroxyalkanoate) and linoleic acid onto chitosan decrease the thermal stability of chitosan backbone. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Diblock copolymers of poly(L ‐lactide)‐block‐poly(methyl methacrylate) (PLLA‐b‐PMMA) were synthesized through a sequential two‐step strategy, which combines ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) and atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP), using a bifunctional initiator, 2,2,2‐trichloroethanol. The trichloro‐terminated poly(L ‐lactide) (PLLA‐Cl) with high molecular weight (Mn,GPC = 1–12 × 104 g/mol) was presynthesized through bulk ROP of L ‐lactide (L ‐LA), initiated by the hydroxyl group of the double‐headed initiator, with tin(II) octoate (Sn(Oct)2) as catalyst. The second segment of the block copolymer was synthesized by the ATRP of methyl methacrylate (MMA), with PLLA‐Cl as macroinitiator and CuCl/N,N,N′,N″,N″‐pentamethyldiethylenetriamine (PMDETA) as catalyst, and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) was chosen as reaction medium due to the poor solubility of the macroinitiator in conventional solvents at the reaction temperature. The trichloroethoxyl terminal group of the macroinitiator was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and 1H‐NMR spectroscopy. The comprehensive results from GPC, FTIR, 1H‐NMR analysis indicate that diblock copolymers PLLA‐b‐PMMA (Mn,GPC = 5–13 × 104 g/mol) with desired molecular composition were obtained by changing the molar ratio of monomer/initiator. DSC, XRD, and TG analyses establish that the crystallization of copolymers is inhibited with the introduction of PMMA segment, which will be beneficial to ameliorating the brittleness, and furthermore, to improving the thermal performance. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A series of novel thermoplastic elastomers, based on poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) as the soft segment and poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) as the hard segment, were synthesized by catalyzed two‐step, melt transesterification reactions of dimethyl terephthalate and methyl esters of carboxypropyl‐terminated poly(dimethylsiloxane)s (M?n = 550–2170 g mol?1) with 1,4‐butanediol. The lengths of both the hard and soft segments were varied while the weight ratio of the hard to soft segments in the reaction mixture was maintained constant (57/43). The molecular structure, composition and molecular weights of the poly(ester–siloxane)s were examined by 1H NMR spectroscopy. The effectiveness of the incorporation of the methyl‐ester‐terminated poly(dimethylsiloxane)s into the copolymer chains was verified by chloroform extraction. The effect of the segment length on the transition temperatures (Tm and Tg) and the thermal and thermo‐oxidative degradation stability, as well as the degree of crystallinity and hardness properties of the synthesized TPESs, were studied.
