Rutile or anatase may be depolymerized and complexed by sequential treatment with (i) H2SO4/(NH4)2SO4, (ii) H2O, and (iii) catechol/NH4OH to produce the intermediate (NH4)2(Ti(catecholate)3) · 2H2O. Treatment with Ba(OH)2· 8H2O leads to an acid-base reaction generating Ba(Ti(catecholate)3) · 3H2O, in which the Ba:Ti ratio is held at 1:1 at the molecular level. Calcination produces BaTiO3 powder.  相似文献

The dielectric properties of (1− x )Pb(Fe2/3W1/3)O3· x PbTiO3 solid solutions were investigated from 102 to 106 Hz in the temperature range 150–600 K. The phase transition of Pb(Fe2/3W1/3)O3 (PFW) was shifted by PbTiO3 (PT) additions to higher temperatures at a rate of 6.3 K/mol% of PT. The temperature dependence of dielectric permittivity showed a sharper transition as the PT content increased. Dielectric measurements in a wide temperature range showed the presence of a second set of dielectric peaks at higher temperatures (350–600 K), besides the ferroelectric–paraelectric phase transition. This second set of peaks vanished when the samples were annealed in nitrogen. The activation energy values for the second relaxation varied between 0.50 and 0.63 eV, in agreement with the conduction activation energy determined for each sample. This relaxation is apparently related to electron holes.  相似文献

Abnormal grain growth (AGG), which occurred during the heat treatment of Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-35 mol% PbTiO3 (PMN-35PT) with excess PbO, was investigated. AGG has been suggested to be the consequence of grain coalescence that results in the formation of Σ3 coincidence site lattice and low angle grain boundaries. Because of reentrant edges appearing at the ends of these boundaries, the coarsening rate of grains was significantly enhanced and AGG occurred.  相似文献

Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-35 mol% PbTiO3 (PMN-35PT) specimens with a 5 mol% excess PbO were prepared by excessive heat treatment at 1150°C to induce abnormal grain growth. Through electron backscatter diffraction analysis and the observation of a three-dimensional morphology, the abnormally grown PMN-35PT grains were found to be twinned crystals with penetration characteristics. The morphology of the PMN-35PT twinned crystal was crystallographically analyzed. The abnormal grain growth of PMN-35PT is suggested to be due to preferential growth at the reentrant angles formed by twins.  相似文献

The effect of spark plasma sintering (SPS) on the densification behavior of Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3–PbTiO3 ceramics has been investigated. Specimens with a density of >99% of the theoretical density (TD) were obtained using SPS treatment at 900°C. Through normal sintering at 1200°C, however, the density of the specimen was only ∼92% of TD.  相似文献

The electromechanical properties of PbTiO3 ceramics, modified by substitution of Sm or Gd + Nd (same average atomic radius as Sm) for Pb, were studied in the range of 6% to 14% substitution. The modified PbTiO3 ceramics were stable, and the Curie temperature decreased linearly over this composition range. The 10% Sm composition had a large anisotropy in the coupling factor ratio, k t / k p , and a similar, but weaker, effect developed for 12% (1/2 Gd + 1/2 Nd). This indicates that other than average ion size may influence the electromechanical coupling factor ratio.  相似文献

The electromechanical and electric-field-induced strain properties of x Pb(Yb1/2Nb1/2)O3· y PbZrO3·(1− x − y )PbTiO3 ( x = 0.12, 0.25, 0.37; y = 0.10–0.40) ceramics have been studied systematically as a function of Pb(Yb1/2Nb1/2)O3 (PYN) content and PbZrO3/PbTiO3 (PZ/PT) ratio. In addition, the effect of MnO2 on the electromechanical properties of 0.12Pb(Yb1/2Nb1/2)O3·0.40PbZrO3·0.48PbTiO3 was also investigated. The maximum transverse strain values of 1.6 × 10−3 for x = 0.12, 1.45 × 10−3 for x = 0.25, and 1.36 × 10−3 for x = 0.37 were obtained at the compositions which were regarded as the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB). The transverse strain was maximized at the MPB composition. The value of the maximum electromechanical coupling coefficient was 0.69 for y = 0.40 and x = 0.12 composition. In the 0.12Pb(Yb1/2Nb1/2)O3·0.40PbZrO3·0.48PbTiO3 composition, the temperature of the maximum dielectric constant decreased and the grain size increased with an addition of MnO2. The electromechanical coupling coefficient decreased while the mechanical quality factor rapidly increased with an addition of MnO2. These resulted mainly from the acceptor effect of manganese ions that were produced by doping MnO2 into the perovskite structure.  相似文献

Sintering temperature has a pronounced effect on perovskite phase stability at the surface of Pb0.88Sr0.12Zr0.54Ti0.44Sb0.02O3 (PSZT) soft piezoelectric ceramics ( d 33≈ 600 pC/N). After sintering 4 h at 1070°C, XRD reveals only perovskite PSZT peaks in the bulk and at the surface. As sintering temperature increases, XRD from the ceramic surface reveals a second-phase peak at ∼27° (2θ), 0.316 nm ( d -spacing). After 4 h at 1280°C, further second-phase peaks are observed, confirming it to be monoclinic ZrO2, accompanied by a strong increase in the degree of tetragonality of the perovskite phase. These observations are consistent with decomposition of the PSZT to ZrO2 and tetragonal PZT (PbZrO3–PbTiO3) associated with PbO loss. SEM and cross-sectional TEM indicated that surface decomposition had progressed ∼0.5 mm into the sample after 4 h at 1280°C.  相似文献

Perovskite developments in the Pb(Zn1/3Ta2/3)O3–PbTiO3 system were explored. Formation yields and lattice parameters of the perovskite were determined from X-ray diffractometry results. Weak-field low-frequency dielectric properties of the system ceramics were investigated, followed by microstructure examination. Perovskite started to develop in Pb(Zn1/3Ta2/3)O3 after the introduction of 30 mol% PbTiO3, whereas complete stabilization was accomplished at 60% substitution. Dielectric relaxation behavior was not substantial across the entire composition range, whereas phase transition modes changed from diffuse to sharp with increased PbTiO3 fraction.  相似文献

A high-quality single crystal of Pb((Zn1/3Nb2/3)0.91Ti0.09)O3 (PZNT 91/9), 40 mm in diameter and 20 mm in length, was successfully grown using the solution Bridgman method with a slight excess amount of ZnO. High-quality wafers were sliced from the light-brown single crystal. No PbO inclusions or opaque areas were observed in the transparent wafers. An array probe for echocardiography was constructed with the single-crystal wafer, and its superior performance was demonstrated.  相似文献

In the system TiO2—Al2O3, TiO2 (anatase, tetragonal) solid solutions crystallize at low temperatures (with up to ∼ 22 mol% Al2O3) from amorphous materials prepared by the simultaneous hydrolysis of titanium and aluminum alkoxides. The lattice parameter a is relatively constant regardless of composition, whereas parameter c decreases linearly with increasing Al2O3. At higher temperatures, anatase solid solutions transform into TiO2 (rutile) with the formation of α-Al2O3. Powder characterization is studied. Pure anatase crystallizes at 220° to 360°C, and the anatase-to-rutile phase transformation occurs at 770° to 850°C.  相似文献

The microstructures and pyroelectric properties of multicomposition 0.9PbZrO3· x PbTiO3·(0.1− x )Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 (PZ–PT–PZN) ceramics were investigated. The PZ–PT–PZN ceramics with nearly theoretical density were prepared by spark plasma sintering at low temperature (800°C) for a very short time (10 min) from two original compositions with x = 0.025 and x = 0.050. The heat treatment was successfully used to control the diffusion between the different compositions in such ceramics. For ceramics heat-treated at 900°C, two pyroelectric peaks corresponding to the original compositions were observed. When the heat-treatment temperature was increased to 1200°C, these two pyroelectric peaks combined into one sharp pyroelectric peak, which corresponds to average composition. When the spark-plasma-sintered ceramics were heat-treated at 950°C, a high and stable pyroelectric coefficient (>100 nC·cm−2·K−1) over a wide temperature range (23°–47°C) was obtained. It was found that the pyroelectric properties strongly depended on the microstructures.  相似文献

The sintering behavior and surface microstructure of PbNi1/3Nb2/3O3–PbTiO3–PbZrO3 (PNiNb-PT-PZ) ceramics were investigated. The PNiNb-PT-PZ ceramics with the stoichiometric composition and the addition of excess lead oxide (PbO-rich ceramics) were sintered by liquid-phase sintering in accordance with the solution-reprecipitation mechanism at temperatures below the melting point of PbO. The temperature at which the liquid phase forms fell to near the eutectic point of the PbO–Nb2O5 and the PbO–TiO2 system (868°C) with the addition of 5 mol% PbO. As the calcination temperature influenced the sinterability of the stoichiometric PNiNb-PT-PZ ceramic, unreacted PbO was considered to be the source of the liquid phase in the sintering of the stoichiometric powder. The secondary phase was observed at the surface of PbO-rich ceramics and was suggested to be a liquid phase expelled from inside the ceramic. A sintering scheme of PNiNb-PT-PZ ceramics was proposed, and the high sinterability of PNiNb-PT-PZ ceramics was attributed to the low formation temperature of the liquid phase.  相似文献

The thermal evolution of amorphous TiO2 powders, consisting of spherical particles and prepared by hydrolysis of a titanium ethoxide aerosol, was studied by using Raman spectroscopy. On calcination at 350°C, the solid crystallized, giving anatase as a major phase. A small amount of rutile was also detected and attributed to small seeds localized at the particle outlayer. The nucleation of rutile at so low a temperature was ascribed to the presence of organic impurities in the powders. The transformation of anatase into rutile was clearly observed after heating at 660°C.  相似文献

The reaction sequences during calcination of oxide mixtures were studied for the PbMg1/3Nb2/3O3─PbTiO3 (PMN-PT) system. The effect of reactivity and composition of the starting mixtures was investigated. In the present study, a B-site-deficient, cubic pyrochlore phase in the PbO-Nb2O5 system was formed at 500°C. The perovskite phase of PMN was formed at 7007deg;C through the diffusion of MgO into the pyrochlore phase. The lattice parameter of the pyrochlore phase decreased as this transformation to perovskite progressed.  相似文献

Lead-based piezoelectric ceramics typically require sintering temperatures higher than 1000°C at which significant lead loss can occur. Here, we report a double precursor solution coating (PSC) method for fabricating low-temperature sinterable polycrystalline [Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3]0.63-[PbTiO3]0.37 (PMN–PT) ceramics. In this method, submicrometer crystalline PMN powder was first obtained by dispersing Mg(OH)2-coated Nb2O5 particles in a lead acetate/ethylene glycol solution (first PSC), followed by calcination at 800°C. The crystalline PMN powder was subsequently suspended in a PT precursor solution containing lead acetate and titanium isopropoxide in ethylene glycol to form the PMN–PT precursor powder (second PSC) that could be sintered at a temperature as low as 900°C. The resultant d 33 for samples sintered at 900°, 1000°, and 1100°C for 2 h were 600, 620, and 700 pm/V, respectively, comparable with the known value. We attributed the low sintering temperature to the reactive sintering nature of the present PMN–PT precursor powder. The reaction between the nanosize PT and the submicrometer-size PMN occurred roughly in the same temperature range as the densification, 850°–900°C, thereby significantly accelerating the sintering process. The present PSC technique is very general and should be readily applicable to other multicomponent systems.  相似文献

Morphotropic Phase Boundary in the Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3O3)-BaTiO3-PbTiO3 System   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
The morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) in the relaxor ferroelectric system Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3O3)-BaTiO3-PbTiO3 (PZN-BT-PT) with 15 mol% BT was investigated through dielectric permittivity and high-temperature X-ray diffraction measurements. It was revealed that MPB is a broad composition region extending from 12 to 18 mol% PT, within which the temperatures of the permittivity maximum are close to the ending temperatures for the phase transformation from coexisting rhombohedral and tetragonal phases to cubic phase on heating. When the specimen is cooled, the starting temperatures for the rhombohedral-to-tetragonal phase transition increase with increasing PT content. The large thermal hysteresis observed by X-ray diffraction is caused by the phase transformation between rhombohedral and tetragonal phases. On cooling, the MPB curves toward the PT-rich side, so that ceramics within this composition range undergoe successive phase transitions from cubic to rhombohedral and from rhombohedral to tetragonal phase. The diffuseness of the paraelectric-to-ferroelectric phase transition is remarkably decreased by the addition of PT. The enhanced dielectric permittivity peak values for the MPB compositions are correlated with the reduced lattice distortion and phase coexistence.  相似文献

Lead zinc niobate–lead magnesium niobate–lead titanate (PZN–PMN–PT) ceramic powders of perovskite structure have been prepared via a mechanochemical processing route. A single-phase perovskite powder of ultrafine particles in the nanometer range was successfully synthesized when a MZN powder (columbite precursor) was mechanically activated for 10 h together with mixed lead and titanium oxides. The following steps are involved when the ternary oxide mixture is subjected to an increasing degree of mechanical activation. First, the starting materials are significantly refined in particle size as a result of the continuous deformation, fragmentation and then partially amorphized at the initial stage of mechanical activation. This is followed by the formation of perovskite nuclei and subsequent growth of these nuclei in the activated oxide matrix with increasing activation time. When calcined at various temperatures in the range of 500–800°C, pyrochlore phase was not detected by XRD phase analysis in the mechanochemically synthesized powder. Only a minor amount (∼2%) of pyrochlore phase was observed when the calcination temperature was raised to 850°C. The PZN–PMN–PT derived from the mechanochemically synthesized powder can be sintered to ∼98% relative density at a sintering temperature of 950°C. The PZN–PMN–PT sintered at 1100°C for 1 h exhibits a dielectric constant of ∼18 600 and a dielectric loss of 0.015 at the Curie temperature of 112°C when measured at a frequency of 0.1 kHz, together with a d 33 value of 323 ×10−12 pC/N.  相似文献

Crystalline PbTiO3 thin films were successfully deposited on (111)-oriented Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si and on (200)-oriented Pt/SiO2/Si by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition at a substrate temperature of 400°C, using a β-diketonate complex of Pb(tmhd)2 (tmhd = 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-3,5-heptanedionate) and titanium isopropoxide as source precursors. The dependence of the formation of crystalline PbTiO3 phase on the Pb/Ti input precursor ratio is qualitatively described. The structure of the films deposited at 400°C changed from amorphous to polycrystalline with an increase of the Pb/Ti ratio from 1.1 to 5.0, including a partially crystallized structure at some intermediate ratio. Partial crystallization of as-grown PbTiO3 film was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, micro-Raman, and Auger electron spectroscopy measurements. It was found that the control of excess Pb precursor through a change in the Pb/Ti ratio is the key process parameter for the formation of crystalline PbTiO3 phase in the low-temperature MOCVD process.  相似文献
