Dynamic pressure measurements are introduced as powerful tool to detect filter failures at early stage. Data of single recleaning pulses or a time series of recleaning pulses can be used to detect filter failures and changes in filter candle conditions during commissioning and operation. High frequency sensors were used to record recleaning back pressure pulses enabling the detection of filter failures such as leakages or blockages. Changes in filter wall resistance due to patchy cleaning or depth filtration can be detected much faster with dynamic pressure measurements than with conventional differential pressure measurements. Parameters derived from dynamic pressure data were monitored over time and compared with reference data. The method complements standard pressure difference measurements. Dynamic pressure measurements were conducted at a hot gas filter applying a coupled pressure pulse (CPP) recleaning system. 相似文献

By studying published information on various disasters throughout history, various patterns emerge. In studying these patterns we are able to deduce whether the failures were preventable or not. The methodology of this paper links all failures, as far as possible back to some human error, for example, design error, maintenance error, operator error, etc. Nine failures were analysed from the following industries: shipping, railways, airlines, nuclear power, space exploration and chemical plant. Some failure sequences are simple, such as the Flixborough chemical plant explosion, while others are more complex, such as the Three Mile Island nuclear plant disaster. AbstractA number of premature failures have been observed in heat recovery steam generators, both along the length of finned tubes and at attachment locations where tubes are joined to the upper or lower header. Such failures are expensive to correct; furthermore, poor welding access and repair practices often result in recurrence of the failures with existing welding technology. Two separate welding technologies under development to address tube failures are described. In the first, for failures along the length of the tube, damaged sections are severed from the existing tube and replaced via gas metal arc welding from the inside of the tube. A welding head has been specifically designed to perform this inside out 'window weld' repair. The second technology addresses tube to header attachment damage via removal of the existing stub from the inside of a header and its replacement with a slightly oversized and tapered tube. The two technologies identified have the potential to give significant improvements in repair of heat recovery steam generator tube failures by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and repair organisations. 相似文献
