A successful capital facility project requires effective usage of practices to satisfy the expected high level of project objectives. To provide an effective practice usage plan, the impacts of implementing practices need to be quantified and better methods or tools for practice usage plan and control are also required. Despite a number of efforts at quantifying the impact of practice usage, little interest has been shown in developing the tools and techniques for improved implementation of practice use. This paper develops performance prediction models for project cost and schedule performance using predictive discriminant function analysis (DFA). The models are integrated into an automated and practical software program named the DFA program that helps deliver effective and dynamic project planning. The DFA program has a user-friendly interface that project managers or field engineers can easily apply to their projects to predict cost and schedule performance and to allow for improvement where possible. An overall project performance improvement process using the DFA program application is provided. 相似文献

In the present investigation, boric acid was used in the ball formation of iron ore fines to improve the compressive strength (CS) of fired pellet. Boric acid was used in combination with carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and saw dust and the pellets were fired at different firing temperatures from 1000 to 1300 °C. Box–Behnken statistical design was followed for analyzing the CS at different levels of boric acid, CMC and firing temperature. Results were discussed using 2D surface plots. Response function predictions determined by the regression analysis showed coefficient of correlation (R2) for CS as 0.96. Highest CS of 450 kg/pellet was obtained with addition of 1% boric acid, 0.1% CMC and a temperature of 1300 °C within the range of parameters under investigation. 相似文献

The writers backanalyzed 39 well-documented liquefaction-induced lateral spreads in terms of a mobilized strength ratio, su(mob)/σvo′ using the Newmark sliding block method. Based on the inverse analyses results, we found that the backcalculated strength ratios mobilized during lateral spreads can be directly correlated to normalized cone penetration test tip resistance and standard penetration test blow count. Remarkably, Newmark analysis-based strength ratios mobilized during these lateral spreads essentially coincide with liquefied strength ratios backcalculated from liquefaction flow failures. The mobilized strength ratios appear to be independent of the magnitude of lateral displacement (at least for displacements greater than 15?cm) and the strength of shaking (in terms of peak ground acceleration). Furthermore, the mobilized strength ratios backcalculated from these cases appear to be consistent for a given depositional environment and do not appear to be severely impacted by potential water layer formation. 相似文献

The effective blast-furnace smelting of iron requires the use of uniform fluxed iron ore in sintered form—local cakes produced by the production of pellets with a high content of iron and residual carbon, minimal content of silica, high cold strength, and high strength in the blast furnace. 针对软件产品线演化成因分析、资产演化跟踪以及演化范围界定等问题,提出了一种基于概念格的软件产品线演化分析方法.该方法把引起软件产品线演化的因素分为内、外两部分,同时利用形式概念理论中的概念格,建立基于概念格的软件产品线演化分析框架,利用该框架可以实现对内、外演化因素的关联关系分析,软件产品线的资产演化跟踪以及软件产品线演化影响范围的确定.最后以整个产品线演化过程为基础,利用概念格结构的层次序,证明了该方法在形式化表示软件产品线演化过程方面中具有较好的精确性. 相似文献

Object composition offers significant advantages over class inheritance to develop a flexible software architecture for finite-element analysis. Using this approach, separate classes encapsulate fundamental finite-element algorithms and interoperate to form and solve the governing nonlinear equations. Communication between objects in the analysis composition is established using software design patterns. Root-finding algorithms, time integration methods, constraint handlers, linear equation solvers, and degree of freedom numberers are implemented as interchangeable components using the Strategy pattern. The Bridge and Factory Method patterns allow objects of the finite-element model to vary independently from objects that implement the numerical solution procedures. The Adapter and Iterator patterns permit equations to be assembled entirely through abstract interfaces that do not expose either the storage of objects in the analysis model or the computational details of the time integration method. Sequence diagrams document the interoperability of the analysis classes for solving nonlinear finite-element equations, demonstrating that object composition with design patterns provides a general approach to developing and refactoring nonlinear finite-element software. 相似文献

This paper presents research on the use of homogeneous parallel and heterogeneous distributed computers for finite-element analysis of transient dynamic problems using a message passing interface. The appropriate computer architectures are discussed, and this review is the basis for the development of a new definition of computational efficiency for heterogeneously distributed finite-element analysis. A code for the transient nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete plates is profiled. It is demonstrated that although the code is efficient for homogeneous computing systems a new message passing procedure must be developed for heterogeneously distributed systems.
