A new scheme is presented to design a rotated Barnes-Wall lattice based vector quantizer(LVQ). The construction method of the LVQ and its fast quantizing algorithm are described at first. Then gain-shape lattice vector quantizer(GSLVQ) with LVQ as shape quantizer is discussed. Finally the GSLVQ is used in image-sequence coding and good experimental results are obtained.  相似文献

This paper presents a side information (SI) scheme for distributed video coding based on multilayer perceptron. The suggested scheme predicts a Wyner–Ziv (WZ) frame from two decoded key frames. The network is trained offline using patterns from different standard video sequences with varied motion characteristics to achieve generalization. The proposed scheme is simulated along with other standard video coding schemes. Performance comparisons have been made with respect to training convergence, rate distortion (RD), peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR), number of requests per SI frame, decoding time requirement, etc. In general, it is observed that the proposed scheme has a superior SI frame generation capability as compared to its competent schemes.  相似文献

在视频编码中,视频量化一般分为硬判决量化(HDQ)和软判决量化(SDQ),HDQ与SDQ相比,编码性能虽有所损失,但其编码复杂度低,易于硬件实现的优点依旧是主流编码器所主要采用的量化算法.人眼具有对图像中的高频细节不敏感的特性.因此,基于Bayes最小误判概率约束,离线构建基于视频内容自适应的量化矩阵,在模拟感知SDQ算法机理下,对高频低频分量采用不同的量化步长,提高视频的主观质量和HDQ算法性能.仿真实验表明,相比于传统的HDQ算法,该文算法能达到平均5.048%的码率节省,其中WVGA和WQVGA格式平均达到10.65%的码率节省.相比于感知SDQ算法,平均码率增加仅有1.464%;算法复杂度方面,编码一帧的时间相比于感知SDQ节省了32.956%.  相似文献

针对现有虚拟信道模型——Laplacian模型不能精确描述其特性,导致系统编码率失真性能不高,深入研究了量化噪声对边信息质量的影响,引入量化噪声因素修正虚拟信道模型,改进了像素域分布式视频编码(PDWZ)系统的帧级虚拟信道估计,并利用原始图像相关信息实现参数的动态调整。实验结果表明,与现有Laplacian模型相比,改进模型能更精确地描述虚拟信道的统计特性,系统的率失真性能得到改善。  相似文献

In this paper, we present the design of a low power and hardware efficient image compressor integrated circuit for wireless capsule endoscopy application. The proposed compression algorithm supports dual-band imaging, that is, works on both white-band imaging (WBI) and narrow-band imaging (NBI). The scheme uses a novel color-space and simple predictive coding for optimized performance. Based on the nature of the narrow- and white-band endoscopic images and video sequences, several sub-sampling schemes are introduced. The proposed dual-band compressor is designed in such as way that it can easily be interfaced with any commercial low power image sensor that outputs RGB image pixels in a raster scan fashion, eliminating the need of large buffer memory and temporary storage. Both NBI and WBI reconstructed images have been verified by medical doctors for acceptability. Compared to other designs targeted to video capsule endoscopy, the proposed algorithm performs strongly with a compression ratio of 80.4% (for WBI) and 79.2% (for NBI), and a high reconstruction peak-signal-to-noise-ratio (over 43.7 dB for both bands). The results of the fabricated chip are also presented.  相似文献

A recently proposed class of distributed source coding based video coders enables low-complexity compression and robust transmission over unreliable channels. These architectures process the video signal either in the pixel or in the transform domain generating some side information that permits a correct decoding of the coded image from a set of possible correlated sources. The approach proposed in this paper processes the video sequence both in the pixel and in the transform domain exploiting the advantages of both schemes and generating a set of lossy syndromes. The resulting video coding scheme requires a lower computational complexity at the decoder with respect to their transform-domain counterparts (like DISCOVER or PRISM) and provides a high compression gain and an increased robustness against channel losses.  相似文献

Compression of captured video frames is crucial for saving the power in wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE). A low complexity encoder is desired to limit the power consumption required for compressing the WCE video. Distributed video coding (DVC) technique is best suitable for designing a low complexity encoder. In this technique, frames captured in RGB colour space are converted into YCbCr colour space. Both Y and CbCr representing luma and chroma components of the Wyner–Ziv (WZ) frames are processed and encoded in existing DVC techniques proposed for WCE video compression. In the WCE video, consecutive frames exhibit more similarity in texture and colour properties. The proposed work uses these properties to present a method for processing and encoding only the luma component of a WZ frame. The chroma components of the WZ frame are predicted by an encoder–decoder based deep chroma prediction model at the decoder by matching luma and texture information of the keyframe and WZ frame. The proposed method reduces the computations required for encoding and transmitting of WZ chroma component. The results show that the proposed DVC with a deep chroma prediction model performs better when compared to motion JPEG and existing DVC systems for WCE at the reduced encoder complexity.  相似文献

This paper proposes an efficient distributed coding system based on multiple channel division. We develop the hierarchical motion refinement scheme using DC syndrome bits to generate high quality side information (SI) for Wyner–Ziv (WZ) frames. Moreover, we estimate local distortion characteristics of an SI frame and encode the SI frame in three coding modes: skip mode for the reliable channel, WZ mode for the medium channel, and intra mode for the unreliable channel. No bit is transmitted in the skip mode. Syndrome bits in the WZ mode are adaptively allocated based on the local distortion characteristics. The H.264 intra coding is performed in the intra mode to recover severely erroneous blocks. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm provides significantly better rate-distortion performance than the state-of-the-art DISCOVER codec.  相似文献

针对视频压缩码流对信道差错异常敏感的问题,提出了一种基于感兴趣区域的自适应帧内更新编码算法。该算法利用人眼的视觉感知特性设计感兴趣区域提取模型,根据信道差错累积情况自适应调整帧内更新编码策略,将更少的失真分配给人眼感兴趣区域,提高差错信道下传输视频图像的主客观质量。实验结果表明,与基于端到端失真的帧内更新算法相比,在不同的信道丢包条件下,所提算法可以获得更好的主客观质量,感兴趣区域的峰值信噪比(PSNR)平均提高0.87 dB左右,提高了差错信道下视频通信的鲁棒性。  相似文献

Layered techniques offer attractive features for video coding in several applications including high definition TV (HDTV). After describing these in general, we propose an approach in which the layering is performed in the pel domain using a modified version of the conventional spatial pyramid technique. Comparisons are made with the alternative methods of subband coding and layering of DCT coefficients. Results with HDTV pictures were first demonstrated on 3 November 1992.  相似文献

A novel approach for near-lossless compression of Color Filtering Array (CFA) data in wireless endoscopy capsule is proposed in this paper. The compression method is based on pre-processing and vector quantization. First, the CFA raw data are low pass filtered and rearranged during pre-processing. Then, pairs of pixels are vector quantized into macros of 9 bits by applying block partition and index mapping in succession. These macros are entropy compressed by Joint Photographic Experts Group-Lossless Standard (JPEG-LS) finally. The complex step of codeword searching in Vector Quantization (VQ) is avoided by a predefined partition rule, which is suitable for hardware implementation. By control of the pre-processor and VQ scheme, either high quality compression under unfiltered case or high ratio compression under filtered case can be realized, with the average Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) more than 43dB and 37dB respectively. Compared with the state-of-the-art method and the previously proposed method, our compression approach outperforms in compression performance as well as in flexibility.  相似文献
