Gaseous copper chlorides can be employed as precursors in a newly developed Cu-CVD method called metal chloride reduction-chemical vapor deposition (MCR-CVD). More than one species exists in the gas phase of copper chloride. We studied the gas phase composition of copper chlorides generated by etching of copper surface by electron impact-mass spectrometry. The composition of gaseous species can change because of gas phase reactions. After desorbing from the copper surface, copper chloride reached equilibrium composition immediately.  相似文献

The optical components described here are variable narrow-band transmission filters, where the transmittance peak varies with the position along the surface of the filter itself. They allow the construction of ultracompact and low-weight spectrometers for space applications. The theoretical behavior of graded filters has been already investigated by the authors, for imaging spectrometry of the Earth surface. The application of graded filters to miniaturized instruments for planetary missions (Mercury) is considered. Experimental results on the fabrication of small-dimension variable transmission filters operating over a wide spectrum, from visible to near infrared, are reported.  相似文献

Self-organized rhodamine 6G particles prepared by wetting/dewetting process of an ethanol solution on a hydrophilic glass surface exhibited fluorescence without quenching, showing a sharp linewidth of 2 nm with a large redshift, which indicates an existence of dye aggregates, similar to J aggregates, inside the particle. Polarized evanescent field excitation showed that the dye molecule's transition moment along the π-conjugation was oriented unidirectionally within particles and parallel to the substrate surface. This deduced dye orientation showed correlation between adjacent, however separated, particles, and pointed roughly 45° off the dewetting direction. In contrast, another π-conjugated NK1420 dye, J aggregates of which grow easily from an oversaturated solution, yielded particles with constituent dyes oriented along the dewetting direction preferably, still indicating the effect of self-organization, however based on a different mechanism.  相似文献

An ambient ionization technique for mass spectrometry, desorption atmospheric pressure photoionization (DAPPI), is presented, and its application to the rapid analysis of compounds of various polarities on surfaces is demonstrated. The DAPPI technique relies on a heated nebulizer microchip delivering a heated jet of vaporized solvent, e.g., toluene, and a photoionization lamp emitting 10-eV photons. The solvent jet is directed toward sample spots on a surface, causing the desorption of analytes from the surface. The photons emitted by the lamp ionize the analytes, which are then directed into the mass spectrometer. The limits of detection obtained with DAPPI were in the range of 56-670 fmol. Also, the direct analysis of pharmaceuticals from a tablet surface was successfully demonstrated. A comparison of the performance of DAPPI with that of the popular desorption electrospray ionization method was done with four standard compounds. DAPPI was shown to be equally or more sensitive especially in the case of less polar analytes.  相似文献

EPS molecular weight and foam density effects in the lost foam process   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The effects of pattern molecular weight and density on casting formation in the lost foam process have been studied. The tensile properties of injection molded ASTM D638 tensile rods have been measured for various densities and molecular weights. Thermogravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry and other techniques have been used to study the thermal degradation characteristics of the pattern. A thermometric technique has been used to study the mold filling behavior with aluminum alloy A356. The results indicate that the tensile properties in the foam generally improve with increasing molecular weight and density. The structural characteristics of the foam may have a greater influence on mechanical properties than molecular weight. The rate of volatilization of the polymer increases as the weight average molecular weight, M w, is lowered from 304,000 g/mol to 152,000 g/mol. The mold fill time increases with pattern density and M w. The data suggest that pattern density and molecular weight may have a significant effect on the quality of the casting.  相似文献

The complete characterization of batch adsorption from solution, desorption, and related phenomena have been interpreted in the light of a general equation. The forward and reverse adsorption-rate constants and the adsorptive capacity comprise the only parameters. Where adsorption alone is of importance and the desorption-rate constant can be neglected, a simplified form of the theory results in a special equation which may suffice for most adsorption purposes. In either case, the characteristic parameters are determinable from the data and serve as criteria for comparing similar systems. The theory has been confirmed by the data of various investigators taken from the literature. The parameters derived from column adsorption are in agreement with the corresponding batch-derived parameters. The limitations as well as the capabilities of the theory are presented; but even where deviations from the assumed model exist, the results are useful.  相似文献

Desorption electrospray ionization (DESI) is made easier to implement, more robust, and exposure of the analyst to the sample is reduced by a novel DESI interface. This features a small, pressure-tight enclosure with fixed spatial relationships between the sprayer, surface, and sampling capillary. There is no loss in signal using this configuration, which provides improved safety and ease of use. Performance is largely independent of the geometrical configuration of the spray and inlet. Enclosed DESI sources with the incident and collection capillaries set at various angles were compared to the conventional optimized geometry open DESI source. Comparable results were obtained in all cases for typical proteins, peptides, and small molecules. With the spray and collection capillaries set parallel and at an angle perpendicular to the surface, the new DESI source allows for easy and direct analysis of the contents of standard 96-well plates. The effects of various operating parameters for the new source such as applied spray potential, liquid and gas flow rates, and enclosure material were investigated.  相似文献

We introduce a new, to our knowledge, design for a Wiener-like correlation filter, which consists of cascading a phase-only filter (POF) with a photorefractive Wiener-like filter. Its performance is compared with that of the POF and the Wiener correlation filter (WCF). Correlation results show that for intermediate and higher levels of noise this correlation filter has a peak-to-noise ratio that is larger than that of either the POF or the WCF while still preserving a correlation peak that is almost as high as that of the POF.  相似文献

A method to compute the discrete wavelet transform for certain wavelet filters is proposed that takes advantage of conjugacy properties in number fields. Over the past decade of nanotube research, a variety of organized nanotube architectures have been fabricated using chemical vapour deposition. The idea of using nanotube structures in separation technology has been proposed, but building macroscopic structures that have controlled geometric shapes, density and dimensions for specific applications still remains a challenge. Here we report the fabrication of freestanding monolithic uniform macroscopic hollow cylinders having radially aligned carbon nanotube walls, with diameters and lengths up to several centimetres. These cylindrical membranes are used as filters to demonstrate their utility in two important settings: the elimination of multiple components of heavy hydrocarbons from petroleum-a crucial step in post-distillation of crude oil-with a single-step filtering process, and the filtration of bacterial contaminants such as Escherichia coli or the nanometre-sized poliovirus ( approximately 25 nm) from water. These macro filters can be cleaned for repeated filtration through ultrasonication and autoclaving. The exceptional thermal and mechanical stability of nanotubes, and the high surface area, ease and cost-effective fabrication of the nanotube membranes may allow them to compete with ceramic- and polymer-based separation membranes used commercially.  相似文献

We reduce the sidelobes that are present in the bandpass zones of rugate filters, using antireflection coatings to design dichroic rugate filters. Our designs are based on the formalism of equivalent systems that allow us to consider a rugate filter a simple equivalent layer with equivalent optical admittance and equivalent phase thickness functions.
