The Therapeutic Effect of Xiaopi-Ⅰ(消痞Ⅰ号) on Functional Dyspepsia

Objective: To observe the therapeutic efficacy of Xiaopi-Ⅰ(消痞Ⅰ号) on functional dyspepsia and its effects on gastric emptying. Methods: A total of 134 patients with functional dyspepsia were randomly assigned to 2 groups. The patients in the Xiaopi-Ⅰ group (66 cases) and the Domperidone group (68 cases) were given Xiaopi-Ⅰ granules and Domperidone 10 mg, 3 times a day, respectively. Another 20 healthy volunteers were chosen as the negative control group. The severity scores of the symptoms, as well as the gastric emptying, were detected before and after 4-week treatment by barium strip-trial meal. Results: During therapy, 6 cases from the Xiaopi-Ⅰ group and 8 cases from the Domperidone group were lost to follow, and 120 cases finally finished the study. Statistical differences were observed from both groups in terms of the symptoms of postprandial fullness early satiety, epigastric pain, and epigastric burning after 4-week treatment (P<0.01). The symptomatic severity scores of the Xiaopi-Ⅰ group before and after the treatment were 7.48±1.64 and 2.16±1.26, respectively (P<0.01). Gastric emptying rates were also improved in the patients with delayed gastric emptying, and the effective rates were 91.3% and 75.8% in the Xiaopi-Ⅰ and Domperidone groups, respectively. No obvious adverse effects were found from both groups. Conclusion: Xiaopi-Ⅰ was an effective and safe agent in the treatment of functional dyspepsia and was worth of further development in clinical.     

Clinical Study on Therapeutic Effect of Acupuncture on Behcet''''s Disease

Forty-six cases of Behcet's disease were randomly divided into two groups. The 26 cases in the treatmentgroup were treated by acupuncture and the 20 cases in the control group with the drugs. The level ofL-chain () of IgM and the level of the trace element Zn were determined before and after treatment inthe treatment group. The results showed that the recurrence rate in the treatment group was significantlylower than that in the control group (P<0.01), and the differences in the level of L-chain () of IgM andlevel of Zn in the treatment group before and after treatment were very significant (P<0.01). These twoindexes tended to become normal after treatment.

Study on Therapeutic Mechanism of Anti-Rheumatism Effect of Siegesbeckia Pubescens

Objective: To explore the mechanism of anti-rheumatic effect of the active fraction of Siegesbeckia pubescens (AFSP). Methods: Adjuvant arthritis (AA) model of rat was produced to observe the effect of AFSP on lymphocyte proliferation, interleukin-1 and -2 (IL-1,-2) activity, pathologic section of ankle joint, and analgesic effect, in model rat. Results: AFSP could reduce the inflammatory pathologic response of ankle joint. It has good analgesic effect, the analgesic rate being 65%. AFSP could also strengthen T-lymphocyte proliferation, promote IL-2 activity and inhibit IL-1 activity. Compared with the control group, the difference was significant (P<0.01). Conclusion: By means of regulating the immune function of organism, AFSP could improve the local pathologic response to antagonize against rheumatism, therefore, it is an effective anti-rheumatism herbal medicine.

Experimental Study on Effect of Bushen Huoxue Xiezhuo Decoction (补肾活血泄浊汤) in Treating Minute Lesion Nephropathy

To explore the therapeutic effect and mechanism of Bushen Huoxue Xiezhuo Decoction (BHXD) in treating minute lesion nephropathy (MLN) in rats. Methods: The MLN model rats established by a single intravenous injection of Adriamycin were divided into the model and the BHXD groups, and a normal group was set up for control. The effects of treatment on renal function, hemorrheologic parameters, renal tissue transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) expression and poly-anion sites on glomerular basement membrane were observed dynamically. Results: After treatment, all the parameters between the BHXD group and the model group were significantly different respectively, morphological observation also showed the pathological changes in the BHXD group were milder than those in the model group. Conclusion: BHXD treatment could markedly improve the renal function, alleviate blood hypercoagulability and hyperviscosity, protect the anion barrier and delay the progression of glomerular fibrosis and sclerosis.

Clinical observation on treatment of 32 patients with measles by Qingzhen Decoction (清疹汤)

Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Qingzhen Decoction （清疹汤, QZD） on measles. Methods： Adopting the randomizing digital table, 62 patients with measles were assigned to two groups, 32 in the treated group and 30 in the control group. All patients were treated with routine therapy, but QZD was given to the treated group additionally for 5 days. Changes of clinical symptoms, blood routine and liver function before and after treatment were observed, and the medical cost was calculated. Results： After the 5-day treatment, the normalization rate of irritative cough in the treated and the control group was 88.9% （24/27） and 56.0% （14/25） respectively, that of conjunctival congestion was 90.0% （27/30） and 65.5% （19/29） respectively, showing significant differences between groups （P〈0.05）. The liver function normalization rate in the two groups was 28.6% （2/7） and 25.0% （2/8）, and the average medical cost ￥740.7 and ￥749.3, respectively. The total effective rate in the two groups was 96.9% and 93.3% respectively, showing insignificant difference between groups （P〉0.05）. Conclusion： QZD could actively improve the respiratory symptoms like irritative cough and the inflammatory symptoms of eye like conjunctival congestion in patients with measles.
