Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to study the influence of modeling and image‐making on architecture design. This paper studies the construction process of geometric objects and images in either direction. Relevant modeling issues include cost, scene and object, and structural and amount of visual detail. A method integrating between model and image is proposed toward solving conflict problems between the algorithmic and design processes. The conflicts are related to the need for a two‐way process and meta‐level manipulation between modeling and rendering. Segregation between modeling and image‐making is connected to achieve effective communication between designer and designed objects.  相似文献

This paper examines two methods of computer-based car styling: texture mapping and direct computer modelling. An overview of current activity in the field precedes a comparison and evaluation of the methods within a typical framework for automobile concept design. Three case studies illustrate the direct modelling method, showing differences of computer use in each case. Further developments of texture mapping are reported, with a proposal for iterative combining of texture mapping and direct modelling.  相似文献

Development of design-by-analogy tools is a promising design innovation research avenue. Previously, a method for computationally structuring patent databases as a basis for an automated design-by-analogy tool was introduced. To demonstrate its strengths and weaknesses, a computationally-generated structure is compared to four expert designers' mental models of the domain. Results indicate that, compared to experts, the computationally-generated structure is sensible in clustering of patents and organization of clusters. The computationally-generated structure represents a space in which experts can find common ground/consensus – making it promising to be intuitive/accessible to broad cohorts of designers. The computational method offers a resource-efficient way of usefully conceptualizing the space that is sensible to expert designers, while maintaining an element of unexpected representation of the space.  相似文献

Computers have been used for design of rolling mills since 1960s. Easy access to high speed digital computers has facilitated use of more accurate rolling theories for design work and comprehensive computer simulations have been developed for all types of mills. These simulations include optimization of roll pass sequence, calculation of roll force, torque and temperature and detailed time studies for productivity calculations. These aspects of mill simulation are examined with specific examples. In the design of rolling mills equipment, computer-aided design has been widely used. The available software, which covers both steady state and dynamic analysis of items such as mill stands, drive systems, manipulators, cooling beds, roll cooling, and automatic gauge control systems, is reviewed with special reference to the nature of analysis and range of applications. Computer drafting is being increasingly used by rolling mills designers for both interactive and non-interactive applications. The integration of computer graphics with the design software holds promise for improving the productivity and creativity of designers and is an active area of development in rolling mills design organizations. A specific application where such integration has been achieved is discussed.  相似文献

Many papers have been published on the compression strength of corrugated fibreboard boxes, using such formulae as Kellicut's equation and McKee's equation for the calculation. These equations, however, require known values of the strength of linerboard or corrugated fibreboard, they do not include the influence of moisture content and they are inadequate in the case of wrap-around boxes. The present author measured the mechanical properties of a large number of fibreboard boxes, and has derived a statistical formula useful for estimating the compression strength of a box based on its specifications — grade of corrugated fibreboard, size of box, type of box, printed area and moisture content. The calculation gives fairly good agreement with experimental results. The estimation technique has further been converted into a personal computer program, which renders the design of corrugated fibreboard boxes an easier task.  相似文献

This paper presents an explanatory study of teamwork in architectural design where team members of different disciplines collaborate to achieve a coherent architectural whole. The study shows that some kind of flexible generic frameworks can be employed to sustain group dynamism through a project's lifetime. Along with our case studies, properties of teamwork-sustaining frameworks are analysed. An overview of the recent development of computer-based collaborative drawing and design support tools is given. To support more effectively the complexity and spontaneity observed in our current study of multidisciplinary collaborative architectural design, an outline of a pilot collaborative modelling environment is presented.  相似文献

把换热器的设计和计算机辅助设计的概念相结合,提出了换热器设计的一个系统模型,考虑到换热器结构形式的多样性及影响换热性能因素的复杂性,较好地解决了人机互补问题及与绘图软件AUTOCAD的相结合问题,对空冷式换热器进行了具体实现。整个系统分成两部分;辅助设计计算部分和辅助设计制图部分。具有良好的适应性和人机友好性。  相似文献

当前应用软件的开发与Internet结合的越来越紧密。笔者首先分析了协同产品开发模式是21世纪现代企业首选的开发模式,在此基础上提出了协同商品设计的概念。结合概念创新设计自动化工具——DARFAD,提出了新的支持协同商品设计的服务系统——CDS—DARFAD,详细介绍了该系统的体系结构和特征技术,论述了协同设计中的管理系统功能模块,并给出了一个设计实例。  相似文献
