The effects of relationship benefit on relationship quality and store loyalty from convergence environments—NPS analysis and moderating effects

The primary concern of CRM is core customers from convergence environments. They show such passionate partnership with the company that they actively put forth their opinion to improve products and service through voluntary pro-company activities and participate in the development of new products through open innovation. Therefore, the top priority of a company should be given to defining its core customers and accurately understanding and managing them, which would contribute to the growth of the company. This study has the purpose to identify net promoter score (NPS) of company by adopting index that evaluates the degree of customer loyalty to the company in judging the relationship of company and customer, and later on establish strategy to increase the number of loyal customers by classifying customers by the score. It has become more important nowadays how to manage a long-term customer relationship, for it can assure the company of increased income in spite of steep competition with rival companies. Therefore strong customer relationship is an important means of proving the company with competitive edge and maximizing company income. In addition, as NPS serves as adjustment variable, net promoters were analyzed to contribute to store loyalty significantly. The way for bookstore ‘A’ to grow as a company with potential for future growth would be re-establish customers through one more in-depth analysis of customers as well as seek for methods to raise NPS.

An integrated multicriteria decision-making methodology for outsourcing management

In this study, an outsourcer evaluation and management system is developed for a textile company by use of fuzzy goal programming (FGP). At first phase of the methodology, evaluation criteria for the outsourcers and the objectives of the company are determined. The existing outsourcers of the company are evaluated by PROMETHEE. At the second phase, the FGP model developed selects the most appropriate outsourcers suitable to be strategic partners with the company and simultaneously allocates the quantities to be ordered to them. In the end, the results achieved are compared with the current situation of the company. The results indicated that scientific methodology for outsourcer management system is very beneficial for the company.Scope and purposeThe purchasing activities of a company constitute a very important part in the overall operation of the company. The quality and the delivery capabilities of any manufacturing firm depend heavily on the performance of its suppliers. When companies outsource a significant part of their business and become more dependent on outsourcers, the quality and delivery performance of the company depends totally on its outsourcers. The consequences of poor decision making become more severe. It is therefore too important for an outsourcing type manufacturer to evaluate, manage and select their suppliers. This research proposes an outsourcer evaluation and management system on scientific basis. The procedure developed is made up of two phases. The first one is the evaluation of outsourcers in terms of the decision maker's objectives. This phase is followed by FGP modeling phase which provides the decision maker the list of suitable outsourcers.     

基于MDA技术的软件过程改进研究

模型驱动架构(MDA)是OMG提出的基于模型驱动(MD)思想的新的方法学。文中在分析和总结中小型软件企业运用MDA技术进行软件开发的基础上,结合软件过程改进的实践经验,提出了基于MDA技术的中小型软件企业过程改进模型。该模型为中小型企业采用MDA技术进行软件开发提出了相应的过程改进模型。企业还可以根据自身的情况对该模型进行裁剪,以便使该模型更加贴近企业的需要。     

保险公司灾备中心安全性建设思考

文章从政府对保险公司灾备系统建设的规范入手,介绍了保险公司灾备中心的建设的三种模式特点和适合哪些公司选择,针对自建模式下的安全性设计的总体要求和安全规范、组织和人员、物理安全、安全技术、安全管理等几个方面进行了总结,最后对灾备中心自建模式和外包模式建设中碰到典型安全性问题进行了分析。

The dynamic predictive power of company comparative networks for stock sector performance

As economic integration and business connections increase, companies actively interact with each other in the market in cooperative or competitive relationships. To understand the market network structure with company relationships and to investigate the impacts of market network structure on stock sector performance, we propose the construct of a company comparative network based on public media data and sector interaction metrics based on the company network. All the market network structure metrics are integrated into a vector autoregression model with stock sector return and risk. Several findings demonstrate the dynamic relationships that exist between sector interactions and sector performance. First, sector interaction metrics constructed based on company networks are significant leading indicators of sector performance. Interestingly, the interactions between sectors have greater predictive power than those within sectors. Second, compared with the company closeness network, the company comparative network, which labels the cooperative or competitive relationships between companies, is a better construct to understand and predict sector interactions and performance. Third, competitive company interactions between sectors impact sector performance in a slower manner than cooperative company interactions. The findings enrich financial studies regarding asset pricing by providing additional explanations of company/sector interactions and insights into company management using industry-level strategies.     

A Game-Theoretic Model of Virtual Operators Competition in a Two-Sided Telecommunication Market

This paper considers a market where two large companies provide services to the population through “cloud” virtual operators buying companies’ services and reselling them to clients. Each large company assigns a price for selling its services to virtual operators. Also the number of its clients and its resource (a characteristic of company’s attractiveness for clients) are known. The game process is a repetition of two-step games where virtual operators choose companies and prices for their services. Each virtual operator needs to choose a company whose services he is going to sell and also to define a price for the services to be sold to clients. Each virtual operator establishes the probability to choose the company and the price for services, taking into account that the partition of company’s clients choosing a given operator is defined by the Hotelling specification. At each step, each virtual operator seeks to maximize his payoff. We find the optimal strategies of the virtual operators and also explore the following question. Does the system achieve some stationary state in this repeated two-step game or a repeating cycle of states is formed instead?

随着公司信息化的全面深入,作为一家央企,公司为了保守国家秘密,维护国家的安全和利益,为保护公司的经济利益和合法权益,保障公司网络信息的安全,防止密涉文件的泄密,要求建立先进的电子文档加密系统。公司通过实施电子文档加密系统,在公司内部构造一个统一管控、跨地域、安全的企业办公环境,保证文档在建立、流转、外发、归档等操作环节都处于加密系统的有效保护之下。在保护环境下文件能正常操作,如果被非法带出保护环境,文件都是不可用的,该系统在公司总部和分公司网络之间构建起了一道安全的桥梁,从而保证了文档的安全。     

Social networking and the risk to companies and institutions

Social networks open up new business opportunities for customer acquisition and retention, facilitate knowledge transfer within the company, and can positively influence work climate. However, they can also quickly destroy a company image that took years to build, while the use of social networks at work not only risks a loss in productivity but may also undermine legal obligations. Eager networkers might also divulge company internals to competitors or the public at large. And last but not least, “friendships” open up completely new attack vectors for professional hackers, thus significantly increasing company exposure to online break-ins. This article briefly summarizes the opportunities and dangers that this development poses for business. This contribution is based on an earlier article by the same authors (in German) (Langheinrich and Karjoth, 2010).     

Applying a hybrid job shop procedure to a Belgian manufacturing company producing industrial wheels and castors in rubber

In this paper, several methods for job shop scheduling are combined, adjusted and successfully applied to a real-world scheduling problem at a Belgian manufacturer producing industrial wheels and castors in rubber. The procedure is an extension of a hybrid shifting bottleneck procedure with a tabu search algorithm while incorporating various company specific constraints. The various extensions to cope with the company specific constraints have a strong similarity with the complex job shop problem formulation of Mason, Fowler, and Carlyle (2002). The new procedure is used as a simulation engine to test the relevance of various scenarios in order to improve the current planning approach of the company. A detailed computational experiment highlights the main contribution of the novel procedure for the company.     

The mixed-product assembly line sequencing problem of a door-lock company in Taiwan

This paper investigates the mixed-product assembly line sequencing problem in the door-lock manufacturing industry. Companies in the door-lock industries schedule their production processes to minimize their costs while meeting customer demand. The variances and diversities of each lock’s components complicate the mixed-product assembly line sequencing problem and directly influence the material requirement planning and human resource costs. In the current research, we study one of the largest ironware manufacturing companies in Asia, company F. For this company, an export-oriented strategy makes its main products (such as door locks and door closers) available around the globe. The primary customers of company F are the largest home improvement co-op stores (such as Home Depot, Lowe’s and True Value in the US) from the region of North America. The sales from this region account for over 80% of company F’s total sales. The remaining company sales are geographically distributed around the world in areas such as Europe, Asia and Australia. However, as labor cost is the major concern, this company seeks supply sources in southeast Asia, China and Taiwan. In this paper, we analyze company F and formulate an integer programming mathematical model with constraints regarding production lines, labor, warehouse capacity and order fulfillment rates to minimize the total cost. The customer demand is derived from real data from company F. We use the branch and bound algorithm (CPLEX) to solve this problem and analyze the results. Salient results and practical issues involved in this unique problem are discussed in detail in this paper.

Systems for reusing hypermedia courseware

Three systems of differing complexity have been built which support the development of courseware libraries for reuse at three differing organizations. One system was developed for a handful of authors at a small company, one for a university team of about twenty-five people, and one for a company with about one hundred authors. The small company has not found the cost-benefit balances attractive enough to continue investment. The university team has published several products with its collaborative hypermedia system. The system for the large company includes extremely sophisticated library structures and coordination mechanisms but is a challenge for the new user to fully understand. As is often the case with reuse, the institutional commitment to courseware reuse and the ease of use of the tools are critical factors in success. Based on the experiences with the first three courseware reuse systems and the increased popularity of the World Wide Web, a new courseware reuse methodology has been implemented on the World Wide Web.     

Value-Oriented Requirements Prioritization in a Small Development Organization

Requirements engineering, especially requirements prioritization and selection, plays a critical role in overall project development. In small companies, this often difficult process can affect not only project success but also overall company survivability. A value-oriented prioritization (VOP) framework can help this process by clarifying and quantifying the selection and prioritization issues. A case study of a small development company shows a successful VOP deployment that improved communications and saved time by focusing requirements decisions for new product releases on core company values     

A network view of business systems

In this paper, we present a novel business network construction approach, where the nodes of the network correspond to the names of the companies in a particular stock market index, and its links show the co-occurrence of two company names in daily news. Our approach consists of two phases, in which search for the company names in the news articles and network construction operations are performed, respectively. To increase the quality of results, each article is classified as business news or not business news before these operations, and only the articles that are classified as business news are considered for network construction. The resulting network presents a visualization of the business events and company relationships during the corresponding time period. We study both co-occurrences as well as single occurrences of company names in the articles scanned in our analysis.
