ABSTRACT

We define and discuss different enumerative methods to compute solutions of generalized Nash equilibrium problems with linear coupling constraints and mixed-integer variables. We propose both branch-and-bound methods based on merit functions for the mixed-integer game, and branch-and-prune methods that exploit the concept of dominance to make effective cuts. We show that under mild assumptions the equilibrium set of the game is finite and we define an enumerative method to compute the whole of it. We show that our branch-and-prune method can be suitably modified in order to make a general equilibrium selection over the solution set of the mixed-integer game. We define an application in economics that can be modelled as a Nash game with linear coupling constraints and mixed-integer variables, and we adapt the branch-and-prune method to efficiently solve it.  相似文献

In this paper we consider linear generalized Nash equilibrium problems, i.e., the cost and the constraint functions of all players in a game are assumed to be linear. Exploiting duality theory, we design an algorithm that is able to compute the entire solution set of these problems and that terminates after finite time. We present numerical results on some academic examples as well as some economic market models to show effectiveness of our algorithm in small dimensions.  相似文献

The generalized Nash equilibrium problem (GNEP) is a noncooperative game in which the strategy set of each player, as well as his payoff function, depend on the rival players strategies. As a generalization of the standard Nash equilibrium problem (NEP), the GNEP has recently drawn much attention due to its capability of modeling a number of interesting conflict situations in, for example, an electricity market and an international pollution control. In this paper, we propose an improved two-step (a prediction step and a correction step) method for solving the quasi-variational inequality (QVI) formulation of the GNEP. Per iteration, we first do a projection onto the feasible set defined by the current iterate (prediction) to get a trial point; then, we perform another projection step (correction) to obtain the new iterate. Under certain assumptions, we prove the global convergence of the new algorithm. We also present some numerical results to illustrate the ability of our method, which indicate that our method outperforms the most recent projection-like methods of Zhang et al. (2010).  相似文献

We consider the generalized Nash equilibrium problem which, in contrast to the standard Nash equilibrium problem, allows joint constraints of all players involved in the game. Using a regularized Nikaido-Isoda-function, we then present three optimization problems related to the generalized Nash equilibrium problem. The first optimization problem is a complete reformulation of the generalized Nash game in the sense that the global minima are precisely the solutions of the game. However, this reformulation is nonsmooth. We then modify this approach and obtain a smooth constrained optimization problem whose global minima correspond to so-called normalized Nash equilibria. The third approach uses the difference of two regularized Nikaido-Isoda-functions in order to get a smooth unconstrained optimization problem whose global minima are, once again, precisely the normalized Nash equilibria. Conditions for stationary points to be global minima of the two smooth optimization problems are also given. Some numerical results illustrate the behaviour of our approaches.  相似文献

In this paper we reformulate the generalized Nash equilibrium problem (GNEP) as a nonsmooth Nash equilibrium problem by means of a partial penalization of the difficult coupling constraints. We then propose a suitable method for the solution of the penalized problem and we study classes of GNEPs for which the penalty approach is guaranteed to converge to a solution. In particular, we are able to prove convergence for an interesting class of GNEPs for which convergence results were previously unknown.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper is to study the existence of maximal elements with applications to Nash equilibrium problems for generalized games in Hadamard manifolds. By employing a KKM lemma, we establish a new maximal element theorem in Hadamard manifolds. As applications, some existence results of Nash equilibria for generalized games are derived. The results in this paper unify, improve and extend some known results from the literature.  相似文献

Abstract

This article studies differentiability properties for a reformulation of a player convex generalized Nash equilibrium problem as a constrained and possibly nonsmooth minimization problem. By using several results from parametric optimization we show that, apart from exceptional cases, all locally minimal points of the reformulation are differentiability points of the objective function. This justifies a numerical approach which basically ignores the possible nondifferentiabilities.  相似文献

This paper studies two problems that arise in distributed computing. We deal with these problems from a game theoretical approach. We are interested in the convergence to the Nash equilibrium of algorithms based on the best reply strategy in a special case of linear costs. We present three specific types of algorithm that converge to the equilibrium. In our first model, composed of two processors, the convergence is established through monotonicity of the sequence of updates generated by each of the three algorithms. In the second model, made up of N processors, the convergence is due to the contraction of the algorithms.  相似文献

The equilibrium problem with equilibrium constraints (EPEC) can be looked on as a generalization of Nash equilibrium problem (NEP) and the mathematical program with equilibrium constraints (MPEC) whose constraints contain a parametric variational inequality or complementarity system. In this paper, we particularly consider a special class of EPECs where a common parametric P-matrix linear complementarity system is contained in all players?? strategy sets. After reformulating the EPEC as an equivalent nonsmooth NEP, we use a smoothing method to construct a sequence of smoothed NEPs that approximate the original problem. We consider two solution concepts, global Nash equilibrium and stationary Nash equilibrium, and establish some results about the convergence of approximate Nash equilibria. Moreover we show some illustrative numerical examples.  相似文献

This paper deals with the generalized Nash equilibrium problem (GNEP), i.e. a noncooperative game in which the strategy set of each player, as well as his payoff function, depends on the strategies of all players. We consider an equivalent optimization reformulation of GNEP using a regularized Nikaido–Isoda function so that solutions of GNEP coincide with global minima of the optimization problem. We then propose a derivative-free descent type method with inexact line search to solve the equivalent optimization problem and we prove that our algorithm is globally convergent. The convergence analysis is not based on conditions guaranteeing that every stationary point of the optimization problem is a solution of GNEP. Finally, we present the performance of our algorithm on some examples.  相似文献

The generalized Nash equilibrium problem (GNEP) is a generalization of the standard Nash equilibrium problem (NEP),in which both the utility function and the strategy space of each player depend on the strategies chosen by all other players. This problem has been used to model various problems in applications. However, the convergent solution algorithms are extremely scare in the literature. In this paper,we present an incremental penalty method for the GNEP,and show that a solution of the GNEP can be found by solving a sequence of smooth NEPs.We then apply the semismooth Newton method with Armijo line search to solve latter problems and provide some results of numerical experiments to illustrate the proposed approach.  相似文献

Jointly convex generalized Nash equilibrium problems are the most studied class of generalized Nash equilibrium problems. For this class of problems it is now clear that a special solution, called variational or normalized equilibrium, can be computed by solving a variational inequality. However, the computation of non-variational equilibria is more complex and less understood and only very few methods have been proposed so far. In this note we consider a new approach for the computation of non-variational solutions of jointly convex problems and compare our approach to previous proposals.  相似文献

The system of generalized vector equilibrium problems with applications   总被引:8,自引:0,他引:8
In this paper, we introduce the system of generalized vector equilibrium problems which includes as special cases the system of generalized implicit vector variational inequality problems, the system of generalized vector variational and variational-like inequality problems and the system of vector equilibrium problems. By using a maximal element theorem, we establish existence results for a solution of these systems. As an application, we derive existence results for a solution of a more general Nash equilibrium problem for vector-valued functions.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper, we introduce a new iterative scheme by combining the hyperplane projection method and the inertial technique for constrained equilibrium problems in real Hilbert spaces. The convergence of the proposed algorithm is established without requiring strict paramonotonicity property. The results presented in the paper extend and improve some recent results in the literature. In addition, a numerical example is given to illustrate the efficiency and performance of the proposed method.  相似文献

A two-person game with a Nash equilibrium is formulated for optimal control problems with a free right end and a linear differential system. The game is reduced to the calculation of a fixed point of an extremal mapping, which in turn is reduced to a variational inequality with linear constraints generated by systems of linear differential controllable processes. An extra-gradient iterative method is proposed for calculating the Nash equilibrium of the dynamic game. The convergence of the method is proved.  相似文献

We analyze an equilibrium model for traffic networks based on stochastic dynamic programming. In this model passengers move towards their destinations by a sequential process of arc selection based on a discrete choice model at every intermediate node in their trip. Route selection is the outcome of this sequential process while network flows correspond to the invariant measures of the underlying Markov chains. The approach may handle different discrete choice models at every node, including the possibility of mixing deterministic and stochastic distribution rules. It can also be used over a multi-modal network in order to model the simultaneous selection of mode and route, as well as to treat the case of elastic demands. We establish the existence of a unique equilibrium, which is characterized as the solution of an unconstrained strictly convex minimization problem of low dimension. We report some numerical experiences comparing the performance of the method of successive averages (MSA) and Newton’s method on one small and one large network, providing a formal convergence proof for MSA. The generalized Nash equilibrium problem (GNEP) is an n-person noncooperative game in which each player’s strategy set depends on the rivals’ strategy set. In this paper, we presented a half-space projection method for solving the quasi-variational inequality problem which is a formulation of the GNEP. The difference from the known projection methods is due to the next iterate point in this method is obtained by directly projecting a point onto a half-space. Thus, our next iterate point can be represented explicitly. The global convergence is proved under the minimal assumptions. Compared with the known methods, this method can reduce one projection of a vector onto the strategy set per iteration. Numerical results show that this method not only outperforms the known method but is also less dependent on the initial value than the known method.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper we introduce the concept of split Nash equilibrium problems associated with two related noncooperative strategic games. Then we apply the Fan-KKM theorem to prove the existence of solutions to split Nash equilibrium problems of related noncooperative strategic games, in which the strategy sets of the players are nonempty closed and convex subsets in Banach spaces. As an application of this existence to economics, an example is provided that studies the existence of split Nash equilibrium of utilities of two related economies. As applications, we study the existence of split Nash equilibrium in the dual (playing twice) extended Bertrand duopoly model of price competition.  相似文献

In this paper, first of all, we consider a generalized game in choice form with 2 constraints and its corresponding equilibrium in choice. We assert new conditions under which the equilibrium in choice exists. As a consequence, we establish the existence of the equilibrium for generalized abstract economies. Then, we apply the obtained theorems to prove the existence of solutions for systems of quasi‐equilibrium problems. We do this by considering new hypotheses for the properties of the involved correspondences. This approach leads us to results which differ a lot from the ones existing in literature.  相似文献
