The spin states of a 2D film with a strong easy-plane anisotropy and single-ion tilted anisotropy, the axis of which forms a certain angle with the normal to the film plane are investigated. In this system, an angular ferromagnetic phase, a spatially inhomogeneous state, and a quadrupole phase can be formed; the realization of these states noticeably depends on the degree of tilted anisotropy.  相似文献

We investigate the spin states of a 2D film exhibiting easy-axis anisotropy and a strong single-ion inclined anisotropy whose axis forms a certain angle with the normal to the film surface. Such a system may have an angular ferromagnetic phase, a spatially inhomogeneous state, and a quadrupole phase, whose realization depends substantially on the inclined anisotropy and the orientation of the wavevector in the film plane.  相似文献

Concentration-driven reorientation phase transitions in ultrathin magnetic films of FeCo alloy have been studied. It is established that, in addition to the easy-axis and easy-plane phases, a spatially inhomogeneous phase (domain structure), a canted phase, and also an “in-plane easy-axis” phase can exist in the system. The realization of the last phase is associated with the competition between the single-ion anisotropy and the magnetoelastic interaction. The critical values of Co concentration corresponding to the phase transitions are evaluated, the types of phase transitions are determined, and the phase diagrams are constructed.  相似文献

The phase states of the 2D non-Heisenberg ferromagnetic with anisotropic bilinear and biquadratic exchange interactions are investigated. The limiting cases of the system under consideration are the two-dimensional XY-model with biquadratic exchange interaction and the isotropic Heisenberg ferromagnetic. The account of the magnetic dipole interaction leads to the realization of spatially inhomogeneous quadrupolar phase. The stability regions of various phase transitions for different values of the material parameters are studied. The phase diagram is built. Besides, the temperature phase transitions are investigated. The influence of the magnetoelastic interaction on the formation of the long-range quadrupolar order is determined.  相似文献

One-dimensional single-ion anisotropic ferromagnet with spin-1 is investigated by means of Green's function treatment in this paper. The model Hamiltonian includes a Heisenberg ferromagnetic term, an external magnetic field, and a second-order single-ion anisotropy. The magnetic properties of the system are treated by the random phase approximation for the exchange interaction term and the Anderson-Callen approximation for the anisotropy term. Our paramagnetic results are in agreement with the other theoretical results.  相似文献

The phase states are investigated for the spin-1 two-sublattice antiferromagnetic with strong easy-plane single-ion anisotropy, exceeding the exchange interaction, in an external magnetic field. Two cases of field orientation are considered: perpendicular to the easy-plane, and in-plane orientation. The analysis of spectra of elementary excitations allows determining the lines of the phase transitions and their types. The (H, D) phase diagram is built for both orientations of the magnetic field. It is shown that the magnetization of sublattices reaches saturation only at infinitely large field, if it is oriented in-plane. This is related with the fact that the spin magnetic moment is not integral of motion in such geometry.  相似文献

Compensation behaviors, magnetic susceptibilities and the phase diagrams of the ternary system of the type ABC consisting of Ising spins σ = 1/2, S = 3/2 and m = 5/2 in the presence of a single-ion anisotropy are studied on the Bethe lattice within the framework of the exact recursion relations. Both ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic exchange interactions are considered. The exact expressions for sublattice magnetizations and magnetic susceptibilities are obtained, and then thermal behaviors of the sublattice magnetizations, total magnetization, magnetic sublattice susceptibilities and total susceptibility are investigated. We find that the system only undergoes a second order phase transition for the different and same bilinear nearest-neighbor exchange interaction parameters, but displays compensation behaviors for only different bilinear interaction parameters. We also present the phase diagrams for the different and same bilinear nearest-neighbor exchange interaction parameters. A comparison is made with the other ternary system of the type ABC consisting of different spin values.  相似文献

The possibility of forming a modulated (spiral) magnetic structure in anisotropic Heisenberg and non-Heisenberg magnets with a frustrated Heisenberg exchange interaction has been investigated. It has been demonstrated that, apart from homogeneous (ferromagnetic and quadrupole) states, the Heisenberg magnets with a strong easy-plane anisotropy can have a spiral magnetic structure. The axis of the spiral coincides with the direction of the external magnetic field. The inclusion of the biquadratic exchange interaction leads to a narrowing of the magnetic field region of the existence of the spiral structure. In the absence of the external magnetic field, the spiral structure can be formed only in the case of easy-axis anisotropy.  相似文献

Basing on the two-spin-per-site Heisenberg model, the effect of single-ion uniaxial anisotropy on the phase diagrams of magnetic system in the presence of internal spin fluctuation has been investigated by use of the mean field theory. It was found that single-ion uniaxial anisotropy has important effect on the phase digrams. In the ferromagnetic case (J3>0) the positive single-ion uniaxial anisotropies (D) suppress the internal spin fluctuation and raise the phase trasition temperature, and negative single-ion uniaxial anisotropies (D) increase the internal spin fluctuation and reduce the phase trasition temperature. In the antiferromagnetic case (J3<0), there exist two critical values Jc1 and Jc2 (|Jc2|<|Jc1|) in the positive D values. In the |J3|<|Jc2| range intra-spin exchange coupling prevails inter-spin exchange coupling, the positive D values suppress the internal spin fluctuation and raise the phase transition temperature. In the |J3|>|Jc1| range the two sub-spins behave as a rigid spin and the positive D values make the reduction of the phase transition temperature. We also observe that the larger D values make the range of internal spin fluctuation to move towards the larger |J3| range.  相似文献

The effects of single-ion anisotropy on quantum criticality in a d-dimensional spin-S planar ferromagnet is explored by means of the two-time Green’s function method. We work at the Tyablikov decoupling level for exchange interactions and the Anderson-Callen decoupling level for single-ion anisotropy. In our analysis a longitudinal external magnetic field is used as the non-thermal control parameter and the phase diagram and the quantum critical properties are established for suitable values of the single-ion anisotropy parameter D. We find that the single-ion anisotropy has sensible effects on the structure of the phase diagram close to the quantum critical point. However, for values of the uniaxial crystal-field parameter below a positive threshold, the conventional magnetic-field-induced quantum critical scenario remains unchanged.  相似文献

A model of a non-Heisenberg ferromagnet is considered in which the single-ion anisotropy constant is linearly dependent on temperature. The conditions are found under which phase transitions occur in 2D and 3D non-Heisenberg ferromagnets as the temperature is varied. It is shown that, in the case where the biquadratic interaction is dominant, quadrupole states can occur in the system, which are specified by the orientation of the quadrupole moment. As the temperature is varied, a phase transition between quadrupole states can occur in 2D magnets. Depending on the ratios between the material constants, this transition can be either a second-order phase transition with the continuously changing orientation of the principal axes of the quadrupole moment tensor or a first-order phase transition with hysteresis through a state with a nonhomogeneous distribution of the principal axes of the quadrupole moment tensor. In 3D magnets, the phase transition between quadrupole states is of the first order with hysteresis. Phase diagrams of the system are constructed.  相似文献

A thermodynamic analysis of spin ordering in an Ising antiferromagnet with single-ion easy-plane anisotropy is carried out. The solutions of the equations of state are analyzed, and the phase diagram is constructed. It is shown that an increase in the single-ion anisotropy constant as a result of increasing competition between single-ion anisotropy and exchange interaction brings about a crossover from the continuous phase transition to the abrupt phase transition. This is initiated by a change in the ion state populations due to single-ion anisotropy and by the freezing of ionic states with a nonzero spin projection. An increase in the single-ion anisotropy also leads to a crossover of the phase transformation between the paramagnetic and antiferromagnetic states from the order-disorder to order-order type.  相似文献

Possible types of spatially modulated periodic antiferromagnetic structures in a uniaxial rhombohedral multiferroic with BiFeO3 crystal symmetry have been studied depending on the ratio of the uniaxial anisotropy and magnetoelectric interaction parameters. It has been shown that, along with symmetric cycloid antiferromagnetic structures with zero transverse component of the antiferromagnetism vector, there are changes in the antiferromagnetism vector direction with both right and left nonzero components of the antiferromagnetic moment, which are branched from the high-symmetry spatially modulated distribution. These solutions degenerate into a homogeneous state at a critical value of the normalized easy-plane anisotropy parameter. The existence of the found spatially inhomogeneous antiferromagnetic states with an incommensurate period can lead to additional features in magnetoelectric properties in multiferroics of the type under consideration near magnetic phase transitions in electric and magnetic fields.  相似文献

The frustrations of exchange interaction between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic layers, which arise at the uncompensated interface between the layers due to the interface roughness, have been described. The distribution of magnetic order parameters in the vicinity of the interface between the layers has been investigated, and the “layer thickness-roughness” magnetic phase diagram has been obtained in the case of the two-layer ferromagnet-antiferromagnet system and the ferromagnet-antiferromagnet-ferromagnet spin-valve system. An analysis has been performed taking into account the single-ion anisotropy energy, i.e., beyond the scope of the exchange approximation. It has been demonstrated that the number of easy axes in the layer plane, in many respects, determines the existence of an exchange shift of the hysteresis loop of the ferromagnet due to its interaction with the antiferromagnetic substrate.  相似文献

A linear cluster mean-field approximation is used to study the magnetic properties of the Ising ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic superlattice, which is composed of a spin-1/2 ferromagnetic monolayer and a spin-1 antiferromagnetic monolayer with a single-ion anisotropy alternatively. By using the transfer matrix method, we calculate the magnetization and the initial magnetic susceptibility as functions of temperature for different interlayer coupling, single-ion anisotropy. We summarize the changing behaviors of the spin structure in ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic layers and the characteristics of the corresponding magnetic susceptibilities, give the transition temperature as a function of the interlayer exchange coupling for different single-ion anisotropy, and analyze the features of the magnetization and the magnetic susceptibility.  相似文献

The theory of magnetization in a longitudinal magnetic field is developed for an easy-plane multisublattice antiferromagnet with a singlet ground state and a strong single-ion anisotropy exceeding the magnitude of exchange interaction. The magnetic-field-induced phase transition from the singlet (magnetically dis-ordered) state to a multisublattice antiferromagnetic state represents a displacive magnetic phase transition. At T=0, this transition proceeds continuously and belongs to second-order phase transitions, while at T ≠0, the behavior changes to jumplike and the process becomes the first-order phase transition.  相似文献

We study kagome lattice antiferromagnets where the effects of easy-axis single-ion anisotropy (D) dominates over the Heisenberg exchange J. For S> or =3/2, virtual quantum fluctuations help lift the extensive classical degeneracy. We demonstrate the presence of a one-third magnetization plateau for a broad range of magnetic fields J3/D2 < or = B < or = JS along the easy axis. The fully equilibrated system at low temperature on this plateau develops an unusual nematic order that breaks sublattice rotation symmetry but not translation symmetry; however, extremely slow dynamics associated with this ordering is expected to lead to glassy freezing of the system on intermediate time scales.

A quasi-two-dimensional ferromagnet (S = 1) with easy axis type anisotropy and interplanar exchange J and intraplanar exchange K is examined within the framework of the spin-wave approximation. An expression for the Curie temperature that is dependent on both the anisotropy parameter D (D/J 1) and on the exchange parameter ratio =K/J is obtained from the self-consistent equations. The important role of the single-ion anisotropy in the formation of the long-range magnetic order in two-dimensional systems is shown.Translated from Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii, Fizika, No. 3, pp. 94–101, March, 1988.The authors are grateful to S. We use the Pair Approximation method to analyze the magnetic and magnetocaloric behaviors of diluted mixed spin S_A=1 and spin S_B=1/2 with the anisotropic Heisenberg model, on a cubic lattice with coordination number z=6. Our system is described in presence of an external magnetic field; the phase diagram and thermodynamic properties related to the concentration of magnetic atom(A or B) and the single ion anisotropy are constructed and discussed.Special attention is paid to magnetocaloric properties provided by isothermal entropy change as well as the cooling capacity. These cooling power keys are plotted and discussed as a function of interaction anisotropy and magnetic component concentration of two sublattices ions A and B. Numerical results show a double peak structure in the entropy change curve and the inverse magnetocaloric effect related to the presence of the negative single-ion anisotropy.  相似文献
