A hypercubic d-dimensional lattice of spins with nearest neighbor ferromagnetic coupling and next nearest neighbor antiferromagnetic coupling along a single axis is studied in the spherical model limit (n→∞) and is found to exhibit a multicritical point of the uniaxial Lifshitz type. The shape of the λ line is calculated explicitly in the vicinity of the multicritical point, and analytic expressions are given for the shift exponent ψ(d) and its amplitudes A±(d). The amplitude A_(d) changes sign for d = 3.  相似文献

The exact solution of the problem of the ground state of theXY-spin system on a deformed chain is found. At finite magnetizationm it is characterized by the double periodic structure and has a finite-band spectrum of spin excitations. The one-component Coulomb system with logarithmic potential in a periodic background is considered. In one dimension, when the background has the same period as the average interparticle spacing, the system is exactly solvable for three values of the coupling constant. The exact solution exhibits insulating-conducting phase transitions. An heuristic argument is presented which predicts the phase diagram for this system.  相似文献

A model for an interface with localized adsorption is presented, in which the surface has a distribution of sticky adhesive sites in contact with a Coulomb fluid. Contrary to the current literature on the electrical double layer the surface charge is in dynamic equilibrium with the bulk fluid. The sum rules obeyed by the one- and two-body correlation functions are investigated. Explicit results are obtained for a solvable model, the two-dimensional one-component plasma at reduced temperature 2. The effect of the granularity of the adsorbed charge on the adsorption isotherm is discussed.  相似文献

We apply the time-dependent variational principle, the nuclear field theory, and the boson expansion method to the Lipkin model to discuss anharmonicities of collective vibrational excitations. It is shown that all of these approaches lead to the same anharmonicity to leading order in the number of particles. Comparison with the exact solution of the Lipkin model shows that these theories reproduce quite well.  相似文献

The theory of solutions of McMillan and Mayer is applied to the jellium model of a binary ionic mixture: two species of charged particles, with charges e and Ze, immersed in a neutralizing background. The density ρ2 of the particles of charge Ze is considered as small, and is used as an expansion parameter. The free energy, the pair distribution functions, the internal energy, and the pressure of the mixture are expressed as power series in ρ2; the coefficients are integrals of correlation functions defined in the system at ρ2=0 (the reference system). Explicit expressions are obtained in the two-dimensional case, at a special temperature, since in that case the reference system (the two-dimensional, one-component plasma) is a solvable model.  相似文献

Sherrington and Kirkpatrick presented a solvable model of a spin glass. In the solution, they used a mathematically unwarranted procedure. In the present article, we show that the problem is exactly solved by starting with the virial expansion formula, and confirm the results of Sherrington and Kirkpatrick. The solution is obtained for the random Ising magnet in which the external field of each site and the exchange integral between each pair of sites are random variables. We obtain the exact thermodynamic properties for this system in the limit of nw→∞, assuming that the exchange integrals of a spin with O(nw) neighbours are O(nw?12) and the average value of each is O(nw?1). The system is found to show the spin-glass state as well as the paramagnetic and the ferromagnetic state.  相似文献

We present the full phase diagram of the spherical 2 + p spin-glass model with p > or = 4. The main outcome is the presence of a phase with both properties of full replica symmetry breaking phases of discrete models, e.g., the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick model, and those of one replica symmetry breaking. This phase has a finite complexity which leads to different dynamic and static properties. The phase diagram is rich enough to allow the study of different kinds of glass to spin glass and spin glass to spin glass phase transitions.  相似文献

A model is considered consisting of nucleons moving in two non-degenerate l-shells and interacting through two pairing residual interactions with (S, T) = (1, 0) and (0, 1). These, together with the single particle hamiltonian induce mutually destructive correlations, giving rise to various collective pictures that can be discussed as representing a two-dimensional space of phases. We introduce and analytically study a generalized p-spin glasslike model that captures some of the main features of attractive glasses, recently found by mode coupling investigations, such as a glass-glass transition line and dynamical singularity points characterized by a logarithmic time dependence of the relaxation. The model also displays features not predicted by the mode coupling scenario that could further describe the attractive glasses behavior, such as aging effects with new dynamical singularity points ruled by logarithmic laws or the presence of a glass spinodal line.  相似文献
