Surface plasmon resonance sensor based on a single-mode polarization-maintaining optical fiber 总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
A novel wavelength modulation-based fiber-optic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor is reported which utilizes both polarization separation and broad band radiation depolarization in polarization-maintaining fibers to enhance sensor stability. Theoretical analysis of the sensing structure with ideally separated polarizations based on the mode of expansion and propagation method is presented. The effect of polarization cross-coupling was also analyzed in the approximation of an equivalent bulk optic structure. A laboratory prototype of the fiber-optic SPR sensor was characterized in terms of sensitivity and resolution. Experimental results indicate that this fiber-optic SPR sensor is able to resolve refractive index changes as low as 4×10−6 under moderate fiber deformations. 相似文献

A novel refractive index sensing scheme based on evanescent wave interaction through locally and permanently bent single mode optical fibers is proposed. Local and permanent bends in single mode optical fibers enable significant power coupling between core and cladding modes. Order and number of excited cladding modes depend on bend features and determine the field profile at the output of the bent region. This in turn constitutes a simple mechanism to tailor the field distribution in single mode optical fibers useful for spatial light modulation. Moreover, since guided cladding modes are strongly influenced by the surrounding refractive index (SRI), the power transmitted at the output of the bent region as well as its dependence on the optical wavelength are strongly sensitive to the SRI opening new scenarios in sensing applications. 相似文献

To improve the sensitivity of a single-mode D-type optical fiber sensor, we selected a D-type optical fiber sensor with 4 mm long and 4 μm core thickness made of a single-mode fiber, a Au-coating on the sensor with a thickness range of 15–32 nm, a light wavelength of 632.8 nm, and an incident angle of 86.5–89.5° for different refractive index (1.33–1.40) sensing. These simulations are based on the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) theory using the phase method which shows that the sensitivity is proportional to the refractive index, Au film thickness and lower incident angle on the sensing interface. The sensitivity is higher than 4000 (degree/RIU), and the resolution is better than 2.5 × 10−6(RIU) as the minimum phase variation is 0.01°. This device is used to detect the refractive index or gas or liquid concentration in real-time. The proposed sensor is small, simple, inexpensive, and provides an in vivo test. 相似文献

提出了一种基于光纤法布里-珀罗(F-P)干涉仪的温度传感器,传感器的敏感部分是一段两端研磨为平面的单模光纤,它的一端与一根单模传光光纤相接以形成一个反射面,另一端与空气接触形成另一个反射面,这两个反射面与敏感部分光纤形成本征光纤F-P干涉仪(IFPI).分析了该光纤温度传感器的温度响应特性,制作了传感器原理样机,搭建了测试平台,并对原理样机进行了测试.在25 ~30℃的范围内对传感器进行了标定,测得温度响应灵敏度为21.504·2πrad/℃,温度分辨率为0.046℃.实验结果表明:该传感器对温度有较好的线性响应和较高的灵敏度,且制作工艺简单,成本低,具有良好的应用前景. 相似文献

This paper presents the development and construction of a sensitive new optical sensor that is highly selective to Hg2+ ion in aqueous solution. The sensing element, the newly synthesized (1Z,2Z)-N′1,N′2-dihydroxy-N1,N2-dipyridin-2-ylethanediimidamide, incorporated into a plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) membrane, is capable of determining mercury(II) with a high selectivity over a wide dynamic range from 5.78 × 10−9 to 1.05 × 10−3 M at pH 4.0 with a lower detection limit of 1.71 × 10−9 M. The optode membrane's response to Hg2+ is fully reversible and reveals a very good selectivity towards Hg2+ ion over a wide variety of other metal ions in solution. Performance characteristics of the sensor evaluated as good reversibility, wide dynamic range, long life span, long-term response stability, and high reproducibility. The proposed optical sensor gives good results for applications in direct determination of mercury(II) in environmental real samples that are satisfactorily comparable with corresponding data from cold-vapor atomic absorption spectrometry. 相似文献

在流量控制系统中,需要在由复合纤维材料制成的机翼中嵌入压力传感器.由于机翼结构会对压力传感器的性能产生影响,因此,通过有限元分析软件对该模型在一定拉力作用下的应力情况进行模拟,发现在压力传感器的边缘出现了应力集中.通过3种改进设计,可以降低或者消除应力集中,即对传感器的4个外直角进行倒棱操作;将传感器旋转45°后嵌入;在传感器外围黏合铝合金薄片.在对上述3种优化方法进行有限元分析模拟后,发现在传感器外围黏合铝合金薄片有效提高了传感器的抗拉强度,消除了应力集中. 相似文献
