分析了弹性动力学反问题的非线性及在迭代反演过程中表现出的复杂非线性现象。迭代反演的结果依赖于反演系统参数和迭代初值,而系统参数对应的Mandelbrot集和迭代初值对应的Julia集都是复杂的分形集。随反演系统状态参数的变化,完全确定性的反演系统却可能产生一系列无规则的,不可预测的迭代输出序列。反演迭代过程中出现的分形和混沌现象反映了表面简单的反演迭代后隐藏的复杂性,正是这种复杂性给迭代系统参数的合理选择带来困难,进而使反演迭代不总能给出满意的结果。  相似文献

This paper focuses on the design of chaotic image compression encryption algorithms. Firstly, we design a uniform non-degenerate chaotic system based on nonlinear filters and the feed-forward and feed-back structure. Theoretical and experimental analyses indicate that the system can avoid the drawbacks of the existing chaotic systems, such as chaos degradation, uneven trajectory distribution, and weak chaotic behavior. In addition, our chaotic system can produce chaotic sequences with good pseudo-random characteristics. Then, we propose a fractal image compression algorithm based on adaptive horizontal or vertical (HV) partition by improving the baseline HV partition and the time-consuming global matching algorithm. The algorithm does not need to implement time-consuming global matching operations. In addition, analysis results demonstrate that our fractal image compression algorithm can reconstruct the original image with high quality under ultra-high compression ratios. Finally, to protect the confidentiality of images, we propose a chaotic fractal image compression and encryption algorithm by using our chaotic system and fractal image compression algorithm. The algorithm achieves excellent diffusion and confusion abilities without using the hash value of plain images. Therefore, it avoids the failure of decryption caused by the tampering of hash value during the transmission process, and can well resist differential attacks and chosen-ciphertext attacks. In addition, simulation results show the algorithm is efficient and robust.

Creating and viewing visual art are both nonlinear experiences. Creating a work of art is an irreversible process involving increasing levels of complexity and unpredictable events. Viewing art is also creative with collective responses forming autopoietic structures that shape cultural history. Artists work largely from the chaos of the unconscious and visual art contains elements of chaos. Works of art by the author are discussed in reference to nonlinear dynamics. "Travelogues" demonstrates continued emerging interpretations and a deterministic chaos. "Advice to the Imperfect" signifies the resolution of paradox in the nonlinear tension of opposites. "Quanah" shows the nonlinear tension of opposites as an ongoing personal evolution. "The Mother of All Things" depicts seemingly separate phenomena arising from undifferentiated chaos. "Memories" refers to emotional fixations as limit cycles. "Compassionate Heart," "Wind on the Lake," and "Le Mal du Pays" are a series of works in fractal format focusing on the archetype of the mother and child. "Sameness, Depth of Mystery" addresses the illusion of hierarchy and the dynamics of symbols. In "Chasadim" the origin of worlds and the regeneration of individuals emerge through chaos. References to chaos in visual art mirror the nonlinear complexity of life.  相似文献

 In this paper digital processing techniques for PIV (Partical Image Velocimetry) using double-exposed particle images have been studied. It has been found that a pattern matching technique is significantly superior to the traditional autocorrelation method in the case that a large particle displacement between the double exposures is present on the image. In PIV using double-exposed images, the image shifting technique is usually used to solve the directional ambiguity problem. The performance of PIV using autocorrelation technique is dependent on the flow speed and the amount of image shift applied. This dependence, for example, causes a difficulty of autocorrelation in flows close to a solid boundary. The present study shows that a pattern matching technique eliminates such a difficulty. At the same signal-to-noise ratio, the pattern matching techndique has a better spatial resolution than that of autocorrelation. In concert with the pattern matching technique, PID (Particle Image Distortion) can be applied to double-exposed images, further improving the reliability and accuracy of velocity estimates of PIV in the presence of large velocity gradients. Generally speaking, PIP-matching and PID extend the validity of PIV using double-exposed images. The total processing time required by the PIV using the pattern matching technique and one PID iteration is of the same order as that required by the PIV using autocorrelation. This paper is concerned with the development of efficient iterative methods for solving the linear system of equations arising from stochastic FEMs for single‐phase fluid flow in porous media. It is assumed that the conductivity coefficient varies randomly in space according to some given correlation function and is approximated using a truncated Karhunen–Loève expansion. Distinct discretizations of the deterministic and stochastic spaces are required for implementations of the stochastic FEM. In this paper, the deterministic space is discretized using classical finite elements and the stochastic space using a polynomial chaos expansion. The highly structured linear systems which result from this discretization mean that Krylov subspace iterative solvers are extremely effective. The performance of a range of preconditioned iterative methods is investigated and evaluated in terms of robustness with respect to mesh size and variability of the conductivity coefficient. An efficient symmetric block Gauss–Seidel preconditioner is proposed for problems in which the conductivity coefficient has a large standard deviation.The companion paper, herein, referred to as Part 2, considers the situation in which Gaussian random fields are transformed into lognormal ones by projecting the truncated Karhunen–Loève expansion onto a polynomial chaos basis. This results in a stochastic nonlinear problem because the random fields are represented using polynomial chaos containing terms that are generally nonlinear in the random variables. 为纪念郑哲敏先生仙逝一周年, 作者回忆在读研期间先生对自己的教诲, 介绍先生和自己在非线性科学领域的一些工作, 及后来这些工作如何被拓展并演变成一些非线性问题通用的分析方法. 具体的方法包括混沌时间序列分析的相空间最优重构, 混沌的直接动力学判据, 基于依赖于尺度的李雅普诺夫指数(SDLE)的多尺度分析及自适应分形分析. 特别, SDLE可以非常好地刻画已知的所有类的时间序列模型, 因此, 可以统一已知的各种复杂性的度量. 自适应分形分析基于自适应滤波, 能非常好地决定趋势, 包括各种震荡模式和回归分析的非线性回归曲线, 也能非常好地去噪, 并把时间序列分解成各种内在固有模式. 这些方法已被广泛用于自然科学、工程技术和社会科学的诸多领域. 它们特别适用于各领域(包括运维)的故障诊断, 生物医学数据的分析及不确定性的度量. 郑先生从不囿于他自己熟悉的领域, 而是随着时代发展不断拓展新的领域. 身处百年未遇之大变局时期, 我们必须发扬光大先生的这种求真务实和开拓进取的精神.   相似文献

The influence of spatial resolution, digitization noise, the number of records used for averaging, and the method of analysis on the determination of the fractal parameters of a high Damköhler number, methane/air, premixed, turbulent stagnation-point flame are investigated in this paper. The flow exit velocity was 5 m/s and the turbulent Reynolds number was 70 based on a integral scale of 3 mm and a turbulent intensity of 7%. The light source was a copper vapor laser which delivered 20 nsecs, 5 mJ pulses at 4 kHz and the tomographic cross-sections of the flame were recorded by a high speed movie camera. The spatial resolution of the images is 155 × 121 m/pixel with a field of view of 50 × 65 mm. The stepping caliper technique for obtaining the fractal parameters is found to give the clearest indication of the cutoffs and the effects of noise. It is necessary to ensemble average the results from more than 25 statistically independent images to reduce sufficiently the scatter in the fractal parameters. The effects of reduced spatial resolution on fractal plots are estimated by artificial degradation of the resolution of the digitized flame boundaries. The effect of pixel resolution, an apparent increase in flame length below the inner scale rolloff, appears in the fractal plots when the measurent scale is less than approximately twice the pixel resolution. Although a clearer determination of fractal parameters is obtained by local averaging of the flame boundaries which removes digitization noise, at low spatial resolution this technique can reduce the fractal dimension. The degree of fractal isotropy of the flame surface can have a significant effect on the estimation of the flame surface area and hence burning rate from two-dimensional images. To estimate this isotropy a determination of the outer cutoff is required and three-dimensional measurements are probably also necessary.  相似文献

The proper orthogonal decomposition theorem (Loève, 1955) of probability theory has been proposed by Lumley (1967, 1972, 1981) for detection of spatial coherent patterns in turbulent flows. More specifically, the decomposition extracts deterministic functions from second-order statistics of a random field and converges optimally fast in quadratic mean (i.e., in energy). The technique can be made completely deterministic in the sense that it can be applied to spatially and temporally evolving flows. The remarkable property of this deterministic decomposition is not only in its optimal convergence (as emphasized before) but also in its space/time symmetry which permits access to the spatiotemporal dynamics. The flow is decomposed into both spatial and temporal orthogonal modes which are coupled: each space component is associated with a time component partner. The latter is the time evolution of the former and the former is the spatial configuration of the latter. This generalizes the notion of spatial and temporal structures which can be followed through the various instabilities that the flow undergoes as Reynolds number increases. It also provides a nonlinear dynamics tool for spatiotemporal dynamical systems and can be used for bifurcation detection and analysis as well as dimension and degree of complexity estimates.Dedicated to Professor J.L. The suitability of Galerkin's method for the solution of the problem of the finite deflection analysis of clamped skew sandwich plates is studied. The five coupled nonlinear governing differential equations for sandwich plates are transformed into nonlinear algebraic equations by using Galerkin's method of error minimization. These equations are then solved using an iterative algorithm suggested by Brown. Comparisons of the results of the present analysis with available solutions show good agreement. Numerical results are presented for skew sandwich plates for a wide range of values of the core modulus for different skew angles and aspect ratios. Simplicity in formulation and computation is the advantage of the method as compared with other methods of nonlinear analysis. Computing time and memory requirements in a digital computer are relatively very small, which makes the method attractive.  相似文献

A unified approach of using densities to analyze bothdeterministic and stochastic complex responses including chaotic andrandom motions of nonlinear engineering systems is illustrated in thisstudy. Motivations to examine deterministic nonlinear dynamical systemsvia densities are first discussed. Essential mathematical background andtechniques pertinent to the analyses of both deterministic chaos andrandom chaotic processes are briefly summarized. Densities of nonlinearresponses are computed by numerically solving the Fokker–Planckequation to examine stochastic properties of random chaotic responses.It is demonstrated that, by introducing random perturbations in anotherwise deterministic excitation, the existence of attractors can beefficiently and clearly depicted by the evolution of a uniqueprobability density over the physical phase space. Two distinctasymptotic behaviors of densities: (i) invariance and (ii) sweeping, ofcomplex motions and their relationship to response stabilities predictedby the Foguel Alternative Theorem are numerically demonstrated.Applications using the probability densities to compute reliabilityindices of an engineering system are demonstrated.  相似文献

Previous studies suggesting that people predict chaotic sequences better than chance have not discriminated between sensitivity to nonlinear determinism and facilitation using autocorrelation. Since prediction accuracy declines with increases in the look-ahead window in both cases, a decline in prediction accuracy does not imply chaos sensitivity. To overcome this problem, phase-randomized surrogate time series are used as a control. Such series have the same linear properties as the original chaotic sequence but contain no nonlinear determinism, i.e. chaos. In the experimental task, using a chaotic Hénon attractor, participants viewed the previous eight days temperatures and then predicted temperatures for the next four days, over 120 trials. The control group experienced a sample from a corresponding phase-randomized surrogate series. Both time series were linearly transformed to provide a realistic temperature range. A transformation of the correlation between observed and predicted values decreased over days for the chaotic time series, but remained constant and high for the surrogate series. The interaction between the days and series factors was statistically significant, suggesting that people are sensitive to chaos, even when the autocorrelation functions and power spectra of the control and experimental series are identical. Implications for the psychological assessment of individual differences in human prediction are discussed.  相似文献

Dielectric elastomer is a type of soft materials which can deform under applied voltage. Here, irregular vibrations in a circular dielectric elastomer membrane with stiffening under periodic forcing are studied. The stiffening phenomenon can induce fast increases in the potential energies near the limiting stretches, which induces challenges to the numerical simulations. By comparing different numerical strategies, the adaptive step size method with allowable very small step sizes is used to simulate the system. For the system with or without damping, the existence of chaos is then verified through the positive maximum Lyapunov exponent and the fractal structures in the phase plane simultaneously. The local dynamic analysis shows the strong contribution of regions near the limiting stretches to the occurrence of chaos, revealing the important role of the stiffening. For the system with damping, the rich dynamical behaviors accompanying chaos such as the period-doubling route to chaos and the long chaotic transients also provide further consistent supports for the existence of chaos. For the system without damping, chaos region in a parameter plane is located by using different initial conditions, revealing the transitional behaviors from periodic states to chaos. Besides, the chaos is more easily to occur in the system without damping. Thus, the study here is useful to avoid or further handle such complex irregular dynamics.

近年来,基于混沌的初值敏感性、伪随机性、遍历性以及自相似分形等非线性动力学特性所发展的混沌优化方法,是一种有潜力的工程全局优化新工具,已广泛应用于科学与工程技术的各学科领域。根据混沌优化方法的发展历程,以算法基本思想和工程应用研究状况为重点,评述了混沌神经网络优化方法、第一类混合混沌优化算法(基于混沌搜索)、第二类混合混沌优化算法(混沌序列代替随机序列)以及混沌分形优化四种主要混沌优化算法。混沌映射最早被引入神经网络,发展了混沌神经网络优化方法,可解决复杂的组合优化等全局优化问题。遗传算法及粒子群等启发式随机算法虽具全局搜索能力,但易出现早熟并陷入局部最优。然后,出现了混沌搜索的概念,研究者将其嵌入启发式算法建立了第一类混合混沌优化算法,可有效克服原启发式算法早熟收敛的缺点。随后,利用混沌映射产生的混沌序列代替启发式算法中的随机参数形成了第二类混合混沌优化算法。混合混沌优化算法有益于实现快速全局收敛和提高计算精度。最后,利用混沌分形特性,从分形理论出发提出一类新颖的混沌分形优化算法,可搜索到优化问题的所有全局最优解。此外,对混沌优化算法研究的几个发展方向进行了展望,诸如加强混沌优化算法的参数设计、处理大规模优化、多目标优化问题以及使用代理模型等。  相似文献

Chaos has been applied extensively in secure communication over the last decade, but most of the chaotic security protocols defined, are cryptographically weak or slow to compute. Also, study of chaotic phenomena as application in security area is not discussed in detail. In this paper, we have intensely studied chaos, their influence in secure communications and proposed a steganography technique in spatial domain for digital images based upon chaotic maps. By applying chaos effectively in secure communication, the strength of the overall anticipated algorithm has been increased to a significant level. In addition, few security statistical analyses such as correlation, entropy, energy, contrast, homogeneity, peak signal to noise ratio, and mean square error have also been carried out and shown that it can survive against various differential attacks such as the known message attack, known cover attack, known stego attack, and stego only attack.  相似文献

The combination of ultrasound echo images with digital particle image velocimetry (DPIV) methods has resulted in a two-dimensional, two-component velocity field measurement technique appropriate for opaque flow conditions including blood flow in clinical applications. Advanced PIV processing algorithms including an iterative scheme and window offsetting were used to increase the spatial resolution of the velocity measurement to a maximum of 1.8 mm×3.1 mm. Velocity validation tests in fully developed laminar pipe flow showed good agreement with both optical PIV measurements and the expected parabolic profile. A dynamic range of 1 to 60 cm/s has been obtained to date.  相似文献
