Trigger efficiencies at BESⅢ were determined for both the J/ψ and ψ' data taking of 2009. Both dedicated runs and physics datasets are used; efficiencies are presented for Bhabha-scattering events, generic hadronic decay events involving charged tracks, dimuon events and ψ'→π+π-J/ψ, J/ψ→ 1+1- events.The efficiencies are found to lie well above 99% for all relevant physics cases, thus fulfilling the BESⅢ design specifications.  相似文献

We present physics opportunities and topics with the s states(strangeonia)that can be studied with the BES detector operating at the BEPC collider.Though the φ and η/ states have long been established experimentally,only a handful of strangeonia are well known,in contrast to the rich ccharmoium system.An overview of the s states and their experimental status is presented in this paper.The BES experiment has collected the world’s largest samples of J/ψ,ψ(2S),ψ(3770),and direct e+e-annihilations at energies below the J/ψand above 3.8 Ge V,and will continue to accumulate high quality,large integrated luminosity in theτ-charm energy region.These data,combined with the excellent performance of the BESⅢ detector,will offer unprecedented opportunities to explore the s system.In this paper we describe the experimental techniques to explore strangeonia with the BESⅢ detector.  相似文献

A photon conversion finder (PCF) based on track information from the main drift chamber (MDC) of the Beijing Spectrometer (BES0) at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC/) is developed. The validation of the PCF is done by reconstructing π0 and measuring the branching fraction of J/ψ →γη'. Using the developed PCF tool, we mapped the materials from the interaction point through the BEPCII beam pipe up to the inner wall of the MDC.  相似文献

The online Data Quality Monitoring (DQM) tool plays an important role in the data recording process of HEP experiments. The BESⅢ DQM collects data from the online data flow, reconstructs them with offline reconstruction software and automatically analyzes the reconstructed data with user-defined algorithms. The DQM software is a scalable distributed system. The monitored results are gathered and displayed in various formats, which provides the shifter with current run information that can be used to identify problems quickly. The principle of the method for the BESⅢ event start time determination and the code construction are described. The investigation of influence of the noise, the method of rejecting noise and the performance checking by the Monte Carlo physics data sample are also presented. The preliminary results got from the Monte Carlo simulation are presented, the reconstruction efficiency of J/ψ→ anything events at noise level 0~60% can achieve above 99%, and the error rate is below 1%.  相似文献

An introduction for ηc physics research is presented in this paper, which shows that the meachnism of ηc decays can't be well described by current theoretical models and detailed experimental measurements need to be done with larger ηc sample. Based on the expected J/ψ and ψ′events taken with the planed BESⅢ detector in one year, the ηc physics researches are discussed extensively, including the measurements of branching fractions of different final states, the search for new decay modes, precision measurements of mass and width, and the search for rare decays. At last, the study of η′c decays is also discussed briefly.  相似文献

The calibration algorithm for RPC-based muon detector at BESIII has been developed. The calibration method, calibration error and algorithm performance are studied. The primary results of efficiency and noise at layer, module and strip levels have been calibrated with cosmic ray data. The calibration constants are available for simulation and reconstruction tuning. Recently, the LHCb experiment announced 3.5σ evidence for direct CP violation in D0 decay by looking at the difference between ACP(D0→K+K-) and ACP(D0→π+π-). This is the rst evidence of CP violation in a charm system, which may indicate new physics beyond the Standard Model. Motivated by this measurement, we review rare processes in charmonium decay, especially, the weak decay, C or P violated decay, and lepton avor violated decays. In case the new physics appears in charm sector, these rare decays of charmonium states will provide an opportunity to search for signi cant contributions from physics beyond the Standard Model. With huge J/ψ and ψ(2S) samples in BES0 experiment, the rare decays may be feasible.  相似文献

Using a dedicated data sample taken in 2018 on the J/ψ peak, we perform a detailed study of the trigger efficiencies of the BESⅢ detector. The efficiencies are determined from three representative physics processes,namely Bhabha scattering, dimuon production and generic hadronic events with charged particles. The combined efficiency of all active triggers approaches 100% in most cases, with uncertainties small enough not to affect most physics analyses.  相似文献

With a 15M J/ψ inclusive Monte Carlo sample, the absolute branching fraction of J/ψ→γη′ from the J/ψ inclusive photon spectrum is measured to be Br(J/ψ→γη′)= (4.68 ± 0.08± 0.27) × 10-3, which is in good agreement with the input value. The J/ψ→γfJ(2220) is also searched for using the same sample. Under our assumptions, the statistical significanees of J/ψ→γfJ(2220) are larger than 7σ.  相似文献

The kinematic properties of two-body decay near τ threshold are studied according to the special capacity of the BEPC accelerator and the BESⅢ detector.Explicitly presented are the transformations of energy and momentum of hadronic particles between different reference frames,and the corresponding distributions.A brand new method is proposed to obtain the energy spread of the accelerator by fitting the energy distribution of hadron from τ semi-leptonic decays.  相似文献

This paper focuses mainly on the vertex reconstruction of resonance particles with a relatively long lifetime such as Ks^0, A, as well as on lifetime measurements using a 3-dimensional fit. The kinematic constraints between the production and decay vertices and the decay vertex fitting algorithm based on the least squares method are both presented. Reconstruction efficiencies including experimental resolutions are discussed. The results and systematic errors are calculated based on a Monte Carlo simulation.  相似文献

The number of ψ’ events accumulated by the BESⅢ experiment from March 3 through April 14, 2009, is determined by counting inclusive hadronic events. The result is 106.41×(1.00±0.81%)×106 . The error is systematic dominant; the statistical error is negligible.  相似文献
