设L为代数闭域F上有限维李代数,著名的李定理说:若char F=0,则L为可解当且仅当L的任一有限维不可约模为1维的.在这里特征为0及模为有限维两个条件都是本质的.(1)若charF=P>0,则L为交换当且仅当L的任一(有限维)不可约模为1维的;(2)若char F=0,则L为交换当且仅当L的任一(有限维或无限维)不可约模为1维的; (3)若char F=P>7,L为李代数(限制李代数),则L为可解当且仅当L的任一不可约模(限制模)的维数为p的幂.

In this article,we compute cohomology groups of the semisimple Lie conformal algebra S =Vir × Cur g with coefficients in its irreducible modules for a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra g.     

Partial differential equation approach to E 7

By solving certain partial differential equations, we find the explicit decomposition of the polynomial algebra over the 56-dimensional basic irreducible module of the simple Lie algebra E₇ into a sum of irreducible submodules. This essentially gives a partial differential equation proof of a combinatorial identity on the dimensions of certain irreducible modules of E₇. We also determine two three-parameter families of irreducible submodules in the solution space of Cartan's well-known fourth-order E₇-invariant partial differential equation.

Differential equations in vertex algebras and simple modules for the Lie algebra of vector fields on a torus

We study irreducible representations for the Lie algebra of vector fields on a 2-dimensional torus constructed using the generalized Verma modules. We show that for a certain choice of parameters these representations remain irreducible when restricted to a loop subalgebra in the Lie algebra of vector fields. We prove this result by studying vertex algebras associated with the Lie algebra of vector fields on a torus and solving non-commutative differential equations that we derive using the vertex algebra technique.     

The Direct Sum Decomposition of Type G_2 Lie Algebra

This article mainly discusses the direct sum decomposition of type G_2 Lie algebra, which, under such decomposition, is decomposed into a type A_1 simple Lie algebra and one of its modules. Four theorems are given to describe this module,which could be the direct sum of two or three irreducible modules, or the direct sum of weight modules and trivial modules, or the highest weight module.

Representations of centrally-extended Lie algebras over differential operators and vertex algebras

We construct irreducible modules of centrally-extended classical Lie algebras over left ideals of the algebra of differential operators on the circle, through certain irreducible modules of centrally-extended classical Lie algebras of infinite matrices with finite number of nonzero entries. The structures of vertex algebras associated with the vacuum representations of these algebras are determined. Moreover, we prove that under certain conditions, the highest-weight irreducible modules of centrally-extended classical Lie algebras of infinite matrices with finite number of nonzero entries naturally give rise to the irreducible modules of the simple quotients of these vertex algebras. From vertex algebra and its representation point of view, our results with positive integral central charge are high-order differential operator analogues of the well-known WZW models in conformal field theory associated with affine Kac-Moody algebras. Indeed, when the left ideals are the algebra of differential operators, our Lie algebras do contain affine Kac-Moody algebras as subalgebras and our results restricted on them are exactly the representation contents in WZW models. Similar results with negative central charge are also obtained.     

Verma type modules for toroidal lie algebras

We study the structure of imaginary Verma modules induced from the"natural"Borel subalgebra of a toroidal Lie algebra. In particular, we establish a criterion of irreducibility for imaginary Verma modules and describe their submodules and irreducible quotients. We also describe the structure of Verma type modules in the case of sl(2)-toroidal Lie algebra over two variables.
