The problem to be addressed and tackled in this paper arose as a byproduct from some efforts at solving problems involving multiple goals by linking linear and goal programming models. The critical issue was that some forms for interdependence among the goals could not be handled in the programming models. Here we will deal with a set of goals — with realistic counterparts in a Finnish plywood industry — in which a subset of the goals are (i) conflicting, another subset (ii) unilaterally supporting and a third subset (iii) mutually supporting. It is furthermore observed that the elements of a studied set of goals may be partly independent and partly interdependent, which makes the context a fullfledged MCDM-problem. It is tackled with a technique which is based on the theory of fuzzy sets, the conceptual framework for fuzzy decisions and the algorithms developed for fuzzy mathematical programming. The resulting fuzzy multiobjective programming model is simplified and tested with the help of a fairly complex numerical example.  相似文献

One of the main problems in formal concept analysis (especially in fuzzy setting) is to reduce a concept lattice of a formal context to appropriate size to make it graspable and understandable. A natural way to do it is to substitute the formal context by its block relation which is equivalent to factorization of the concept lattice by a complete tolerance. We generalize known results on the correspondence of block relations of formal contexts and complete tolerances on concept lattices to fuzzy setting and we provide an illustrative example of using block relations to reduce the size of a concept lattice.  相似文献

This article introduces the concept of isosingular sets, which are irreducible algebraic subsets of the set of solutions to a system of polynomial equations constructed by taking the closure of points with a common singularity structure. The definition of these sets depends on deflation, a procedure that uses differentiation to regularize solutions. A weak form of deflation has proven useful in regularizing algebraic sets, making them amenable to treatment by the algorithms of numerical algebraic geometry. We introduce a strong form of deflation and define deflation sequences, which, in a different context, are the sequences arising in Thom–Boardman singularity theory. We then define isosingular sets in terms of deflation sequences. We also define the isosingular local dimension and examine the properties of isosingular sets. While isosingular sets are of theoretical interest as constructs for describing singularity structures of algebraic sets, they also expand the kinds of algebraic set that can be investigated with methods from numerical algebraic geometry.  相似文献

It is difficult for the students to transfer concepts, ideas and procedures learned in mathematics to a new and unanticipated situation in science. An alternative to this traditional transfer method stresses the importance of modelling activities in an interdisciplinary context between mathematics and science. In the paper we introduce a modelling approach to the concept of function in upper secondary school is introduced. We discuss pedagogical and didactical issues concerning the interplay between mathematics and science. The discussion is crystallized into a didactical model for interdisciplinary instruction in mathematics and science. The model is considered as an iterative movement with two phases: (1) the horizontal linking of the subjects: Situations from science are embedded in contexts which are mathematized by the students, (2) the vertical structuring in the subjects: The conceptual anchoring of the students' constructs from the horizontal linking in the systematic and framework of mathematics and science respectively.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a method to construct more general fuzzy sets using ordinary fuzzy sets as building blocks. We introduce the concept of multi-fuzzy sets in terms of ordered sequences of membership functions. The family of operations T, S, M of multi-fuzzy sets are introduced by coordinate wise t-norms, s-norms and aggregation operations. We define the notion of coordinate wise conjugation of multifuzzy sets, a method for obtaining Atanassov’s intuitionistic fuzzy operations from multi-fuzzy sets. We show that various binary operations in Atanassov’s intuitionistic fuzzy sets are equivalent to some operations in multi-fuzzy sets like M operations, 2-conjugates of the T and S operations. It is concluded that multi-fuzzy set theory is an extension of Zadeh’s fuzzy set theory, Atanassov’s intuitionsitic fuzzy set theory and L-fuzzy set theory.  相似文献

Bisimulations have been widely used in many areas of computer science to model equivalence between various systems, and to reduce the number of states of these systems, whereas uniform fuzzy relations have recently been introduced as a means to model the fuzzy equivalence between elements of two possible different sets. Here we use the conjunction of these two concepts as a powerful tool in the study of equivalence between fuzzy automata. We prove that a uniform fuzzy relation between fuzzy automata A and B is a forward bisimulation if and only if its kernel and co-kernel are forward bisimulation fuzzy equivalence relations on A and B and there is a special isomorphism between factor fuzzy automata with respect to these fuzzy equivalence relations. As a consequence we get that fuzzy automata A and B are UFB-equivalent, i.e., there is a uniform forward bisimulation between them, if and only if there is a special isomorphism between the factor fuzzy automata of A and B with respect to their greatest forward bisimulation fuzzy equivalence relations. This result reduces the problem of testing UFB-equivalence to the problem of testing isomorphism of fuzzy automata, which is closely related to the well-known graph isomorphism problem. We prove some similar results for backward-forward bisimulations, and we point to fundamental differences. Because of the duality with the studied concepts, backward and forward-backward bisimulations are not considered separately. Finally, we give a comprehensive overview of various concepts on deterministic, nondeterministic, fuzzy, and weighted automata, which are related to bisimulations.  相似文献

Students' conceptions of three major artificial intelligence concepts used in the modeling of systems in science, fuzzy logic, neural networks, and genetic algorithms were investigated before and after a higher education science course. Students initially explored their prior ideas related to the three concepts through active tasks. Then, laboratories, project work, use of computer modeling of scientific systems, and cooperative group work were used to help students construct key characteristics of each concept. Finally, they applied each concept in contexts different from that in which it had been previously studied. In postcourse interviews using a set of scenarios for each of the major course concepts, 49% of students' applications included key characteristics of the concepts studied versus an application of 5% in precourse interviews. Students' post interview applications were inconsistent even though they were more frequent, indicating a state of transition in their conceptual change. Applications were most consistent when used with scenarios deemed very familiar to the students, indicating the effects of context in conceptual change.  相似文献

The complexity of experience acquired through our senses and as interpreted by our mind, is fuzzy and must remain so as long as the meaning of things change as they are embedded in larger or different contexts to relate them to new ideas and new experiences. Here we give a method for measuring the relativity of fuzziness by structuring the functions of a system hierarchically in a multiple objective framework. The method is based on computing the principal eigenvector of a positive matrix with reciprocal entries (i.e., aji = 1/aij). The eigenvector provides an estimate for an (assumed) underlying ratio scale. For a single property the scale provides a measure of the grade of membership of elements in a fuzzy set according to that property and the departure of the eigenvalue from the dimension of the matrix serves as a measure of departure from consistency. For a number of properties, the principle of hierarchical composition enables us to compose the eigenvectors into a priority vector which measures the fuzziness of the elements in the lowest level of the hierarchy with respect to the relative dominance of the purposes or properties represented in the hierarchy.  相似文献

On standard models of fuzzy region connection calculus   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The Region Connection Calculus (RCC) is perhaps the most influential topological relation calculus. Based on the first-order logic, the RCC, however, does not fully meet the needs of applications where the vagueness of entities or relations is important and not ignorable. This paper introduces standard models for the fuzzy region connection calculus (RCC) proposed by Schockaert et al. (2008) [18]. Each of such a standard fuzzy RCC model is induced by a standard RCC model in a natural way. We prove that each standard fuzzy RCC model is canonical in the sense that any satisfiable set of fuzzy RCC8 constraints have a solution in it. A polynomial realization algorithm is also provided. As a side product, we show similar sets of fuzzy constraints have similar solutions if both are satisfiable. This allows us to approximate fuzzy RCC constraints that have arbitrary bounds by those have bounds with finite precision.  相似文献

In conventional multiobjective decision making problems, the estimation of the parameters of the model is often a problematic task. Normally they are either given by the decision maker (DM), who has imprecise information and/or expresses his considerations subjectively, or by statistical inference from past data and their stability is doubtful. Therefore, it is reasonable to construct a model reflecting imprecise data or ambiguity in terms of fuzzy sets for which a lot of fuzzy approaches to multiobjective programming have been developed. In this paper we propose a method to solve a multiobjective linear programming problem involving fuzzy parameters (FP-MOLP), whose possibility distributions are given by fuzzy numbers, estimated from the information provided by the DM. As the parameters, intervening in the model, are fuzzy the solutions will be also fuzzy. We propose a new Pareto Optimal Solution concept for fuzzy multiobjective programming problems. It is based on the extension principle and the joint possibility distribution of the fuzzy parameters of the problem. The method relies on α-cuts of the fuzzy solution to generate its possibility distributions. These ideas are illustrated with a numerical example.  相似文献

The highly diversified conceptual and algorithmic landscape of Granular Computing calls for the formation of sound fundamentals of the discipline, which cut across the diversity of formal frameworks (fuzzy sets, sets, rough sets) in which information granules are formed and processed. The study addresses this quest by introducing an idea of granular models – generalizations of numeric models that are formed as a result of an optimal allocation (distribution) of information granularity. Information granularity is regarded as a crucial design asset, which helps establish a better rapport of the resulting granular model with the system under modeling. A suite of modeling situations is elaborated on; they offer convincing examples behind the emergence of granular models. Pertinent problems showing how information granularity is distributed throughout the parameters of numeric functions (and resulting in granular mappings) are formulated as optimization tasks. A set of associated information granularity distribution protocols is discussed. We also provide a number of illustrative examples.  相似文献

The supervised classification of fuzzy data obtained from a random experiment is discussed. The data generation process is modelled through random fuzzy sets which, from a formal point of view, can be identified with certain function-valued random elements. First, one of the most versatile discriminant approaches in the context of functional data analysis is adapted to the specific case of interest. In this way, discriminant analysis based on nonparametric kernel density estimation is discussed. In general, this criterion is shown not to be optimal and to require large sample sizes. To avoid such inconveniences, a simpler approach which eludes the density estimation by considering conditional probabilities on certain balls is introduced. The approaches are applied to two experiments; one concerning fuzzy perceptions and linguistic labels and another one concerning flood analysis. The methods are tested against linear discriminant analysis and random K-fold cross validation.  相似文献

Fuzzy rough sets, generalized from Pawlak's rough sets, were introduced for dealing with continuous or fuzzy data. This model has been widely discussed and applied these years. It is shown that the model of fuzzy rough sets is sensitive to noisy samples, especially sensitive to mislabeled samples. As data are usually contaminated with noise in practice, a robust model is desirable. We introduce a new model of fuzzy rough set model, called soft fuzzy rough sets, and design a robust classification algorithm based on the model. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

In [4] Höhle has defined fuzzy measures on G-fuzzy sets [2] where G stands for a regular Boolean algebra. Consequently, since the unit interval is not complemented, fuzzy sets in the sense of Zadeh [8] do not fit in this framework in a straightforward manner. It is the purpose of this paper to continue the work started in [5] which deals with [0,1]-fuzzy sets and to give a natural definition of a fuzzy probability measure on a fuzzy measurable space [5]. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for such a measure to be a classical integral as in [9] in the case the space is generated. A counterexample in the general case is also presented. Finally it is shown that a fuzzy probability measure is always an integral (if the space is generated) if we replace the operations ∧ and ∨ by the t-norm To and its dual S0 (see [6]).  相似文献

This paper proposes a general study of (I,T)-interval-valued fuzzy rough sets on two universes of discourse integrating the rough set theory with the interval-valued fuzzy set theory by constructive and axiomatic approaches. Some primary properties of interval-valued fuzzy logical operators and the construction approaches of interval-valued fuzzy T-similarity relations are first introduced. Determined by an interval-valued fuzzy triangular norm and an interval-valued fuzzy implicator, a pair of lower and upper generalized interval-valued fuzzy rough approximation operators with respect to an arbitrary interval-valued fuzzy relation on two universes of discourse is then defined. Properties of I-lower and T-upper interval-valued fuzzy rough approximation operators are examined based on the properties of interval-valued fuzzy logical operators discussed above. Connections between interval-valued fuzzy relations and interval-valued fuzzy rough approximation operators are also established. Finally, an operator-oriented characterization of interval-valued fuzzy rough sets is proposed, that is, interval-valued fuzzy rough approximation operators are characterized by axioms. Different axiom sets of I-lower and T-upper interval-valued fuzzy set-theoretic operators guarantee the existence of different types of interval-valued fuzzy relations which produce the same operators.  相似文献

Rough set theory has been combined with intuitionistic fuzzy sets in dealing with uncertainty decision making. This paper proposes a general decision-making framework based on the intuitionistic fuzzy rough set model over two universes. We first present the intuitionistic fuzzy rough set model over two universes with a constructive approach and discuss the basic properties of this model. We then give a new approach of decision making in uncertainty environment by using the intuitionistic fuzzy rough sets over two universes. Further, the principal steps of the decision method established in this paper are presented in detail. Finally, an example of handling medical diagnosis problem illustrates this approach.  相似文献

Bayesian model averaging (BMA) is the state of the art approach for overcoming model uncertainty. Yet, especially on small data sets, the results yielded by BMA might be sensitive to the prior over the models. Credal model averaging (CMA) addresses this problem by substituting the single prior over the models by a set of priors (credal set). Such approach solves the problem of how to choose the prior over the models and automates sensitivity analysis. We discuss various CMA algorithms for building an ensemble of logistic regressors characterized by different sets of covariates. We show how CMA can be appropriately tuned to the case in which one is prior-ignorant and to the case in which instead domain knowledge is available. CMA detects prior-dependent instances, namely instances in which a different class is more probable depending on the prior over the models. On such instances CMA suspends the judgment, returning multiple classes. We thoroughly compare different BMA and CMA variants on a real case study, predicting presence of Alpine marmot burrows in an Alpine valley. We find that BMA is almost a random guesser on the instances recognized as prior-dependent by CMA.  相似文献
