We consider a charged five-dimensional Myers–Perry black hole in a uniform magnetic (test) field. Using the Komar mass formula, we calculate the total energy of the electromagnetic field within the truncation three-sphere for a five-dimensional rotating black hole with two equal-rotation parameters and two equal-magnetic field strengths. We show that the total electromagnetic energy takes the minimum value when the five-dimensional rotating black hole acquires a non-zero net electric charge Q.  相似文献

We study the Hawking radiation of the scalar field in the rotating Godel black hole in minimal five-dimensional supergravity. We not only derive radiation spectra that satisfy the unitary principle but also obtain the correction term of Bekenstein-Hawking entropy. The conclusion will help us learn more about the rotating Godel black hole in minimal five-dimensional supergravity. This provides a greater understanding of the thermal radiation of black holes.  相似文献

In this report we review the microscopic formulation of the five-dimensional black hole of type IIB string theory in terms of the D1–D5 brane system. The emphasis here is more on the brane dynamics than on supergravity solutions. We show how the low energy brane dynamics, combined with crucial inputs from AdS/CFT correspondence, leads to a derivation of black hole thermodynamics and the rate of Hawking radiation. Our approach requires a detailed exposition of the gauge theory and conformal field theory of the D1–D5 system. We also discuss some applications of the AdS/CFT correspondence in the context of black hole formation in three dimensions by thermal transition and by collision of point particles.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the bouncing braneworld scenario, in which the bulk is given by a five-dimensional AdS black hole spacetime with matter field confined in a 3D brane. Exploiting the CFT/FRW-cosmology relation, we consider the self-gravitational corrections to the first Friedmann-like equation which is the equation of the brane motion. The self-gravitational corrections act as a source of stiff matter contrary to standard FRW cosmology, where the charge of the black hole plays this role. Then we study the stability of solutions with respect to homogeneous and isotropic perturbations. Specifically, if we do not consider the self-gravitational corrections, the AdS black hole with zero ADM mass and open horizon is an attractor, while, if we consider the self-gravitational corrections, the AdS black hole with zero ADM mass and flat horizon is a repeller.  相似文献

We canonically quantize the dynamics of the brane universe embedded into the five-dimensional Schwarzschild-anti-de Sitter bulk space-time. We show that in the brane-world settings the formulation of the quantum cosmology, including the problem of initial conditions, is conceptually more simple than in the (3+1)-dimensional case. The Wheeler-DeWitt equation is a finite-difference equation. It is exactly solvable in the case of a flat universe and we find the ground state of the system. The closed brane universe can be created as a result of decay of the bulk black hole.  相似文献

We consider Einstein gravity coupled to an U(1) gauge field for which the density is given by a power of the Maxwell Lagrangian. In d-dimensions the action of Maxwell field is shown to enjoy the conformal invariance if the power is chosen as d/4. We present a class of charge rotating solutions in Einstein-conformally invariant Maxwell gravity in the presence of a cosmological constant. These solutions may be interpreted as black brane solutions with inner and outer event horizons or an extreme black brane depending on the value of the mass parameter. Since we are considering power of the Maxwell density, the black brane solutions exist only for dimensions which are multiples of four. We compute conserved and thermodynamics quantities of the black brane solutions and show that the expression of the electric field does not depend on the dimension. Also, we obtain a Smarr-type formula and show that these conserved and thermodynamic quantities of black branes satisfy the first law of thermodynamics. Finally, we study the phase behavior of the rotating black branes and show that there is no Hawking–Page phase transition in spite of conformally invariant Maxwell field.  相似文献

We find exact solutions for rotating and nonrotating neutral black holes in the G?del universe of five-dimensional minimal supergravity theory. We also describe the embedding of this solution in M-theory. After dimensional reduction and T-duality, we obtain a supergravity solution corresponding to placing a black string in a pp-wave background.  相似文献

It is shown that the usual characteristics of a black hole and of the physical fields produced by it obtain a unified geometrical meaning in the five-dimensional framework. Especially, it is demonstrated that a solution for a rotating black hole with electric and scalar charges can be generated by a boost transformation of the fifth coordinate from the Kerr solution.  相似文献

We study the spin precession frequency of a test gyroscope attached to a stationary observer in the five-dimensional rotating Kaluza-Klein black hole(RKKBH). We derive the conditions under which the test gyroscope moves along a timelike trajectory in this geometry, and the regions where the spin precession frequency diverges. The magnitude of the gyroscope precession frequency around the KK black hole diverges at two spatial locations outside the event horizon. However, in the static case, the behavior of the Lense-Thirring frequency of a gyroscope around the KK black hole is similar to the ordinary Schwarzschild black hole. Since a rotating Kaluza-Klein black hole is a generalization of the Kerr-Newman black hole, we present two mass-independent schemes to distinguish these two spacetimes.  相似文献

Owing to the special structure of a five-dimensional Elko spinor, its localization on a brane with codimension one becomes completely different from that of a Dirac spinor. By introducing the coupling between the Elko spinor and the scalar field that can generate the brane, we have two types of localization mechanism for the five-dimensional Elko spinor zero mode on a brane. One is the Yukawa-type coupling, and the other is the non-minimal coupling. In this study, we investigate the localization of the Elko zero mode on de Sitter and Anti-de Sitter thick branes with the two localization mechanisms, respectively. The results show that both the mechanisms can achieve localization. The forms of the scalar coupling function in both localization mechanisms have similar properties, and they play a similar role in localization.  相似文献

Recently, the Hawking radiation of a black hole has been studied using the tunnel effect method. The radiation spectrum of a black hole is derived. By discussing the correction to spectrum of the rotating black hole, we obtain the canonical entropy. The derived canonical entropy is equal to the sum of Bekenstein-Havcking entropy and correction term. The correction term near the critical point is different from the one near others. This difference plays an important role in studying the phase transition of the black hole. The black hole thermal capacity diverges at the critical point. However, the canonical entropy is not a complex number at this point. Thus we think that the phase transition created by this critical point is the second order phase transition. The discussed black hole is a five-dimensional Kerr-AdS black hole. We provide a basis for discussing thermodynamic properties of a higher-dimensional rotating black hole.  相似文献

We construct the general solution for nonextremal charged rotating black holes in five-dimensional minimal gauged supergravity. They are characterized by four nontrivial parameters: namely, the mass, the charge, and the two independent rotation parameters. The metrics in general describe regular rotating black holes, providing the parameters lie in appropriate ranges so that naked singularities and closed timelike curves (CTCs) are avoided. We calculate the conserved energy, angular momenta, and charge for the solutions, and show how supersymmetric solutions arise in a Bogomol'nyi-Prasad-Sommerfield limit. These have naked CTCs in general, but for special choices of the parameters we obtain new regular supersymmetric black holes or smooth topological solitons.  相似文献

We show how to construct low energy solutions to the Randall-Sundrum II (RSII) model by using an associated five-dimensional anti-de Sitter space (AdS(5)) and/or four-dimensional conformal field theory (CFT(4)) problem. The RSII solution is given as a perturbation of the AdS(5)-CFT(4) solution, with the perturbation parameter being the radius of curvature of the brane metric compared to the AdS length ?. The brane metric is then a specific perturbation of the AdS(5)-CFT(4) boundary metric. For low curvatures the RSII solution reproduces 4D general relativity on the brane. Recently, AdS(5)-CFT(4) solutions with a 4D Schwarzschild boundary metric were numerically constructed. We modify the boundary conditions to numerically construct large RSII static black holes with radius up to ~20?. For a large radius, the RSII solutions are indeed close to the associated AdS(5)-CFT(4) solution.  相似文献

Keywords We present a general formalism for black string perturbations in the Randall-Sundrum 1 model (RS1). First, we derive the master equation for the electric part of the Weyl tensor E μν. Solving the master equation using the gradient expansion method, we give the effective Teukolsky equation on the brane at low energy. It is useful to estimate gravitational waves emitted by perturbed rotating black strings. We also argue on the effect of the Gregory-Laflamme instability on the brane using our formalism.  相似文献

Applying the Damour–Ruffini method, we have considered the Hawking radiation of the five-dimensional rotating black hole. When taking the energy conservation and angular momentum conservation into consideration and considering the reaction of the radiation of the particle to spacetime, we see that the exact radiation spectrum is not purely thermal and the angular momentum of the black hole is quantized.  相似文献

We compute the mass, angular momenta, and charge of the G?del-type rotating black hole solution to five-dimensional minimal supergravity. A generalized Smarr formula is derived, and the first law of thermodynamics is verified. The computation rests on a new approach to conserved charges in gauge theories that allows for their computation at finite radius.  相似文献

Within our thick brane approach previously used to obtain the cosmological evolution equations on a thick brane embedded in a five-dimensional Schwarzschild Anti-de Sitter spacetime it is explicitly shown that the consistency of these equations with the energy conservation equation requires that, in general, the thickness of the brane evolves in time. This varying brane thickness entails the possibility that both Newton’s gravitational constant G and the effective cosmological constant Λ4 are time dependent.  相似文献
