The preparation of pure single crystals of K2Pt(CN)4Br0.3·3H2O and K2Pt(CN)4Cl0.3·3H2O has been investigated. Crystals with reproducible d.c. conductivity and dielectric constants were obtained only when the mixed valence platinum salt contained one halide. The bromide complex was particularly susceptible to contamination by chloride, and a preparation scheme is presented which excludes the unwanted halide. The best quality crystals were grown by slow evaporation of solutions which were 1 molar in urea and 0.1 molar in the appropriate potassium halide.  相似文献

A novel semi-organic material of l-proline cadmium chloride monohydrate (l-PCCM) has been successfully synthesized and single crystal was grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique at room temperature. The grown single crystals have been characterized by different instrumentation techniques like XRD, FTIR, UV-Vis-NIR and TG/DTA measurements. Its nonlinear optical property has been tested by Kurtz powder method. The mechanical properties of grown crystals have been studied using Vickers microhardness tester. Its relative SHG efficiency is two times higher than that of potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) single crystal.  相似文献

GdCa4O(BO3)3 (GdCOB) and YCa4O(BO3)3 (YCOB) single crystals have been grown from the melt by the Czochralski method. Subsequent DTA analysis of the single crystals showed different behavior for both substances. During the first heating both crystals showed a single sharp melting peak at 1490°C (GdCOB) or at 1504°C (YCOB), respectively. In subsequent heating/cooling runs only GdCOB shows one single peak, whereas YCOB shows five peaks. Moreover, phase separation of the melt can be observed by optical observation and by EDX measurements. This behavior can be explained by a miscibility gap in the YCOB melt. The YCOB crystal is formed from the stoichiometric melt by a monotectic reaction.  相似文献

A nonlinear optical (NLO) salt viz. L-alanine hydrogen chloride (LAHC) has been synthesized and solubility of the synthesized salt in de-ionized water was determined at different temperatures. Single crystals of L-alanine hydrogen chloride (LAHC) salt were grown by solution method with slow evaporation technique. The grown crystals were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) and powder XRD analyses to study the crystal structure. The crystallinity of LAHC crystal was confirmed by the powder X-ray diffraction study and diffraction peaks were indexed. FTIR study was used to confirm the presence of various functional groups in the grown crystals. UV–visible transmittance spectrum was recorded to study the optical transparency of LAHC crystal. The nonlinear optical (NLO) property of the grown crystal was confirmed by Kurtz–Perry powder test. The density of LAHC crystal was determined by floatation method. The mechanical strength of the crystal was estimated by Vickers hardness test. The grown crystals were subjected to TG/DTA analyses. The dielectric behavior of the sample was also studied.  相似文献

The organic nonlinear optical material ammonium d,l-tartrate single crystal has been successfully grown by slow evaporation solution technique (SEST). The grown crystals were characterized by single crystal XRD and the lattice parameters have been confirmed. The structural perfection of the grown crystal was analyzed by high-resolution X-ray diffraction measurement. The optical transmittance spectrum shows that the material has a good optical transparency in the entire visible region with the UV cut-off wavelength at 234 nm. Thermogravimetric and differential scanning calorimetric measurements were performed to study the thermal properties of the grown crystal. Chemical etching studies were attempted to determine the dislocation density of the grown crystal. Mechanical behavior was assessed using Vickers hardness testing carried out on (0 0 1) crystallographic plane. The Kurtz–Perry powder SHG technique confirms the NLO property of the grown crystal and the efficiency of AMT crystal was found to be 1.3 times that of standard KDP crystal.  相似文献

New non-linear optical single crystal of l-histidinium dihydrogen phosphate was grown by slow evaporation and temperature lowering technique from aqueous solution. Solubility studies have been carried out for three different solvents (water, acetone and ethanol). The grown crystals have been subjected to single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis to identify the cell parameters and morphology. Optical transmission spectra reveal the optical properties of the grown crystals. The NLO property of the crystal has been confirmed by Kurtz SHG test. Comparing the output power it has been confirmed that l-HDP crystals possess higher SHG efficiency than KDP. Thermal studies were carried out to check the thermal stability of the crystals.  相似文献

For the first time, we have grown ferroelectric single crystals Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-PbTiO3-Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 (PMN-PT-PFN) from the melt by the simple slow cooling process. The chemical composition of the single crystals PMN-PT-PFN (0.59/0.31/0.10) is near the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB). X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to study phase structure of the as-grown crystals, energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS) and electron probe micro-analyzer (EPMA) were employed to confirm the chemical composition and element distribution of the as-grown crystals, respectively. The ferroelectric, dielectric and piezoelectric properties of the as-grown PMN-PT-PFN (0.59/0.31/0.10) single crystal oriented along the (0 0 1) axis were measured, which showed that the remnant polarization (Pr), coercive electric fields (Ec), the Curie temperature (Tc) and the piezoelectric coefficient (d33) were 50.2 μC/cm2, 13.9 kV/cm, 158 °C and about 1800 pC/N, respectively. All the results indicated that the PMN-PT-PFN (0.59/0.31/0.10) single crystals are promising for applying to field of high frequency.  相似文献

Crystals of (H3O)2[(UO2)2(SeO4)3(H2O)2](H2O)3.5 were prepared from aqueous solutions by evaporation. The crystal structure [monoclinic system, space group P21/m, a = 11.9402(11), b = 13.6452(14), c = 13.7271(12) Å, β = 109.436(7)°, V = 2109.1(3) Å3] was solved by the direct method and refined to R 1 = 0. 048 (wR 2 = 0. 082) for 3677 reflections with |F hkl |F hkl |. The structure consists of [(UO2)2(SeO4)3(H2O)2]2− layers arranged parallel to the (010) plane. A second-order nonlinear optical coordination crystal, zinc cadmium thiocyanate, ZnCd(SCN)4 (ZCTC) was grown as a frequency doubler, emitting UV light. A large typical single crystal with dimensions up to 15×7×7 mm3 has been obtained by slow solvent-evaporation method for the first time. The infrared (IR) spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) of single crystals were performed at room temperature. The specific heat of the crystal has been measured to be 367.9 J/mol K at 300 K. The thermal expansion coefficients a- and c-oriented, have been measured to be −1.69×10−5 and 1.95×10−4 K−1, respectively. The second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of ZCTC crystal is 51.6 times as high as that of urea reference, and the measured transmittance spectra from 190 to 3200 nm showed that the UV transparency cutoff occurs at 290 nm and the transmission is 73.22% at 380 nm. UV laser light of wavelength 380 nm has been achieved by the frequency doubling of a 760 nm laser diode at room temperature.  相似文献

Pr3+-doped La2(WO4)3 single crystal with dimensions up to Ø 20 mm × 35 mm has been grown by the Czochralski method. The structure of the Pr3+:La2(WO4)3 crystal was determined by the X-ray powder diffraction and the Pr3+ concentration in this crystal was determined. The absorption and fluorescence spectra of Pr3+:La2(WO4)3 crystal were measured at room temperature, and the fluorescence lifetime of main emission multiplets were estimated from the recorded decay curves. The spectral properties related to laser performance of the crystal were evaluated.  相似文献

Crystals of (H3O)6[(UO2)5(SeO4)8(H2O)5](H2O)5 were prepared from aqueous solutions by evaporation. The crystal structure [monoclinic system, space group P21/m, a = 13.835(2), b = 13.4374(16), c = 14.310(3) Å, β = 108.004(14)°, V = 2530.1(7) Å 3] was solved by the direct method and refined to R 1 = 0.090 for 4409 reflections with |F hkl ≥ 4σ|F hkl |. The structure is based on [(UO2)5(SeO4)8(H2O)5]6− layers arranged parallel to the (101) plane; these layers have a unique topological structure. The U(1)O6(H2O) and U(3)O6(H2O) linked through selenate groups form chains running along [ [`1]\bar 1 01] direction. The chains are combined in layers by U(2)O6(H2O) bipyramids. The layers are linked with each other by hydrogen bonds through the H2O and H3O+ groups located between the layers.  相似文献

This communication reports optical properties and radiation responses of Pb2+ 0.5 and 1.0 mol%-doped YCa4O(BO3)3 (YCOB) single crystals grown by the micro-pulling-down (μ-PD) method for neutron scintillator applications. The crystals had no impurity phases according to the results of X-ray powder diffraction. These Pb2+-doped crystals demonstrated blue-light luminescence at 330 nm because of Pb2+1S0-3P0,1 transition in the photoluminescence spectra. The main emission decay component was determined to be about 250-260 ns under 260 nm excitation wavelength. When irradiated by a 252Cf source, the relative light yield of 0.5% Pb2+-doped crystal was about 300 ph/n that was determined using the light yield of a reference Li-glass scintillator.  相似文献

YTa7O19 (YHT), Nd:YTa7O19 (Nd:YHT), Nd:LaTa7O19 (Nd:LHT) and NdTa7O19 (NHT) single crystals have been grown by spontaneous nucleation from high-temperature solutions using K2Mo3O10-B2O3 as a flux and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction techniques. The effect of the flux composition on the crystal morphology is discussed. The distribution of the Nd3+ ions in doped crystals has been investigated by electron microprobe analysis, evidencing non-uniform segregation coefficients. The Raman spectra of the investigated compounds are presented, and a reinterpretation of the fine structure present in the optical spectra is proposed in the light of the crystallographic information.  相似文献

Nd: NaLu(WO4)2 single crystals have been grown by the top seeded solution growth (TSSG) method. The peaks shown in the X-ray powder diffraction pattern were assigned. The crystal belongs to the space group of I41/a and the unit-cell parameters were calculated as a = b = 5.168 Å, c = 11.174 Å, V = 298.46 Å3. It is a tetragonal scheelite-like single crystal. The DSC (differential scanning calorimeter) curve proved that the as-grown crystal had a glass transition at the temperature range of 733.8 °C-781.4 °C which was lower than its melting point at 1149.3 °C. The absorption and fluorescence spectra were measured at room temperature.  相似文献

Transparent potassium gallium pyrophosphate single crystals, KGaP2O7, have been grown by a spontaneous nucleation method using K4P2O7-4KPO3 as flux. The as-grown crystals were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), differential thermal analysis (DTA) and thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) techniques. The results show that the as-grown crystals were well crystallized and indexed in a monoclinic crystal system with space group P21/c. The crystal is stable in the measurement temperature range of 25-939.9 °C, and it melts congruently at 947 °C. The frequencies of the vibrational modes of the crystal were also obtained from measurements of the infrared spectrum.  相似文献

Novel organic nonlinear optical material 4-hydroxy-N-methyl 4-stilbazolium besylate has been synthesized and 7 mm × 5 mm × 3 mm size crystals were grown by slow evaporation technique. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the crystal lattice is monoclinic. From powder X-ray diffraction analysis the diffraction planes have been indexed. Fourier transform infrared spectrum for our sample confirms the presence of functional groups in the grown crystal. Second harmonic efficiency was determined using Kurtz powder method in comparison with urea to confirm the nonlinearity of the material. The results are discussed in detail.  相似文献

The room temperature crystal data and the optical properties of the Bridgman method grown Tl2InGaSe4 crystals are reported and discussed. The X-ray diffraction technique has revealed that Tl2InGaSe4 is a single phase crystal of monoclinic structure. The unit cell lattice parameters, which were recalculated from the X-ray data, are found to be a = 0.77244 nm, b = 0.64945 nm, c = 0.92205 nm and β = 95.03°. The temperature dependence of the optical band gap of Tl2InGaSe4 single crystal in the temperature region of 290–500 K has also been investigated. The absorption coefficient was calculated from the transmittance and reflectance data in the incident photon energy range of 1.60–2.10 eV. The absorption edge is observed to shift toward lower energy values as temperature increases. The fundamental absorption edge corresponds to indirect allowed transition energy gap of 1.86 eV that exhibited a temperature coefficient γ = −3.53 × 10−4 eV/K.  相似文献

Organic and semiorganic centrosymmetry single crystals of pure and cadmium dichloride doped aminoethanoic acid was successfully grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique. The solubility of the grown crystals was studied for different temperatures upto 50 °C. The single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis shows that the grown crystal belongs to monoclinic system and their unit cell parameter values were determined. The presence of various functional groups was identified by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. UV–Vis spectrum shows a wide optical transmittance in the visible region and the obtained lower cut off wavelength is around 252 nm. The presence of 0.31 mg of cadmium element per litre of water was measured by AAS analysis which indicates the effect of dopant in the material. TG/DTA study reveals that the organic complex has slightly more stable than the semiorganic complex and it has high thermal stability of about 193 °C. Vickers microhardness tester confirms the reverse indentation size effect of the crystals and found that the crystals belongs to soft material category by Meyer law. Dielectric study was carried out on the grown crystals which represent the lower value of dielectric constant while increase the frequency.  相似文献

A high optical quality Er3+-doped NaGd(WO4)2 single crystal with dimensions of ∅18 × 50 mm3 has been grown using the Czochralski method. The structure of the grown crystal was proved by X-ray powder diffraction. The accurate concentration of Er3+ ion in the crystal was measured. The absorption spectra, fluorescence spectra and fluorescence lifetime of the crystal were measured at room temperature. Green up-conversion luminescence has been observed when the crystal is excited at 965 nm.  相似文献
