We have examined the effect of high temperature on single-wall carbon nanotubes under air and nitrogen ambient by Raman spectroscopy. We observe the temperature dependence of the radial breathing mode and the G-band modes. The thermal expansion coefficient (β) of the bundled nanotubes is obtained experimentally using the estimated volume from Raman scattering. β behaves linearly with temperature from 0.33 × 10?5 K?1 to 0.28 × 10?5 K?1 in air and from 0.58 × 10?5 K?1 to 0.47 × 10?5 K?1 in nitrogen ambient, respectively. The temperature dependence of the radial breathing mode Raman frequencies is consistent with a pure temperature effect.  相似文献

The conductivity σ of C60 fullerene crystals is measured under quasi-isentropic loading by a spread shock wave to a pressure of 200 kbar at the initial temperatures 293 and 77 K. A sharp increase in σ by seven to eight orders of magnitude is detected: from 10?6?10?7 Ω?1 cm?1 at normal conditions to 5 Ω?1 cm?1 under pressure from 100 to 200 kbar. The conductivity of samples under pressure decreases with decreasing temperature, which is characteristic of semiconductors. On pressure release, σ regains its initial value.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Thermally grown SiO2 thin films on a silicon substrate implanted with 100?keV silicon negative ions with fluences varying from 1?×?1015 to 2?×?1017 ions cm?2 have been investigated using Electron spin resonance, Fourier transforms infrared and Photoluminescence techniques. ESR studies revealed the presence of non-bridging oxygen hole centers, E′-centers and Pb-centers at g-values 2.0087, 2.0052 and 2.0010, respectively. These vacancy defects were found to increase with respect to ion fluence. FTIR spectra showed rocking vibration mode, stretching mode, bending vibration mode, and asymmetrical stretching absorption bands at 460, 614, 800 and 1080?cm?1, respectively. The concentrations of Si–O and Si–Si bonds estimated from the absorption spectra were found to vary between 11.95?×?1021 cm?3 and 5.20?×?1021 cm?3 and between 5.90?×?1021 cm?3 and 3.90?×?1021 cm?3, respectively with an increase in the ion fluence. PL studies revealed the presence of vacancies related to non-bridging oxygen hole centers, which caused the light emission at a wavelength of 720?nm.  相似文献

A novel biosensor has been constructed by incorporating modified nanosized natural zeolite and 3-hydroxypropanaminium acetate (HPAA) as a novel room temperature ionic liquid, supported on multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNTs) and employed for the simultaneous determination of dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA). A detailed investigation by transmission electron microscopy and electrochemistry is performed in order to elucidate the preparation process and properties of the composites. The voltammetric studies using the modified carbon paste electrode show two well-resolved anodic peaks for DA and UA with a potential difference of 160 mV, revealing the possibility of the simultaneous electrochemical detection of these compounds. The modified carbon paste electrode shows good conductivity, stability, and extraction effect due to the synergic action of HPAA, MWCNTs, and iron ion-doped natrolite zeolite. Under optimized conditions, the peak currents are linear from 8.12?×?10?7 to 3.01?×?10?4?mol?L?1 and from 9.31?×?10?7 to 3.36?×?10?4?mol?L?1 with detection limits of 1.16?×?10?7 and 1.33?×?10?7?mol?L?1 for DA and UA using the differential pulse voltammetric method, respectively. Finally, the modified carbon paste electrode proved to have good sensitivity and stability and is successfully applied for the simultaneous determination of DA and UA in human blood serum and urine samples.  相似文献

Highly luminescent complexes of Eu and Tb ions with norfloxacin (NFLX) and gatifloxacin (GFLX) were prepared in sol–gel matrix. The red and green emissions of Eu and Tb ions were obtained by the energy transfer from the triplet state of (NFLX) and (GFLX) to the excited emitting states (5D0 and 5D4) of Eu and Tb, respectively. The intensity of the electric field emission bands (5D07F2, 617 nm and 5D47F5, 545 nm) of Eu and Tb ions were proportional to the concentration of (NFLX at pH 6.0) and (GFLX at pH 3.5) in acetonitrile with excitation wavelengths (λex) (340 and 395) and (370 and 350 nm) for Eu and Tb ions, respectively. The monitored luminescence intensity of the system showed a good linear relationship with the concentration of NFLX within a range of 5×10?9–5.8×10?6 and 5×10?8–1.0×10?6 mol L?1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.990, and for GFLX within a range of 2.4×10?9–3.2×10?5 and 5×10?8–8.0×10?6 mol L?1 with a correlation coefficient of 0.995. The detection limit (LOD) was determined as 3.0×10?9 and 1.0×10?8 mol L?1 for NFLX and 1.6×10?10 and 2.0×10?8mol L?1 for GFLX. The limit of quantification (LOQ) is 9×10?9 and 3.0×10?8 and 4.8×10?10 and 6.0×10?8 in case of Eu and Tb, respectively.  相似文献

Poly(1-amino-5-chloroanthraquinone) (PACA) was firstly synthesized by a chemically oxidative interfacial polymerization. The PACA has been developed as a fluorescent sensor for the determination of Fe(III) in semi-aqueous solution at pH 7.0. The sensor exhibited remarkably high sensitivity toward Fe3+ since the fluorescence of the polymer could be significantly quenched even though trace Fe3+ was added. The sensor showed a linear fluorescence emission response over a wide concentration range from 1.0?×?10?10 to 1.0?×?10?4 M, with an ultra-low detection limit of 2.0?×?10?11 M. The quenching of the fluorescence was found to be static one due to the formation of non-fluorescent complex in the ground state.  相似文献

The radiative and Forster type of energy transfer processes in a dye mixture laser of 7-diethylamino-4-methyl coumarin (donor) and fluorescein disodium salt (acceptor) under nitrogen laser pumping were investigated. The Forster transfer rate calculated from the absorption and emission spectra of acceptor and donor is 1.3 × 1011 liter mole?1sec?1. The gain of acceptor at 550 nm was measured for acceptor concentrations NA from 10?3M to 3 × 10?3M for a fixed ratio F = 1 of donor to acceptor concentrations at different pump powers. The results agreed with the rate equation model proposed for the dye mixture laser. The radiative rate constant calculated from these results is 3.1 × 1010 liter mole?1sec?1. Numerical simulation of the rate equations showed that the acceptor reaches peak emission with a time lag of 3 ns with respect to the donor peak emission for F = 0.998, NA = 10?5M. This time lag decreases with increasing NA and becomes zero for NA = 10?1M, F = 0.048.  相似文献

The arc spot life time and velocity before reaching melting temperature have been calculated for different electrode materials. They vary between 10?10 to 10?14 s and 102 to 106 m/s for heat flux densities of 109 to 1012 W/m2. The experimental examination of such results was carried out by means of fast rotating electrode disks and tubular electrodes in plasmatrons. The measurements resulted in life times of more than 10?5 s with erosion rates from 10?10 to 10?2 g/As and electrode spot diameters ranging from 0,01 to 5 mm while the heat flux density varied between 107 to 1012 W/m2. Ten different types of continuous traces, single spots, and craters have been found. Some spot phenomena, the high erosion rates of rotating disks and the similarity of ignition events have been clarified for electrodes made from good conductive materials and less conductive. But the melting and boiling of the spot surfaces was inevitable in all cases.  相似文献

The nonlinear refractive index γ of CS2 is studied using laser pulses of various durations (from 110 fs to 75 ns). It is found that γ increases with increasing pulse duration within the picosecond region (from (3 ± 0.6) × 10?15 cm2 W?1 at 110 fs to (3.5 ± 0.7) × 10?14 cm2 W?1 at 75 ns) due to orientational nonlinearities. Variations in the sign of γ caused by the thermal effect at different pulse durations and repetition rates are analyzed. It is demonstrated that the fast electronic component, the component associated with molecular processes, causing positive nonlinear refraction, and the acoustic component, responsible for negative nonlinear refraction, manifest themselves simultaneously. The results of a study of the nonlinear absorption of carbon disulfide are presented. The two-and three-photon absorption coefficients of CS2 are determined to be (5 ± 1.5) × 10?11 cm W?1 and (2.8 ± 0.8) × 10?23 cm3 W?2, respectively.  相似文献

Swift heavy ion (SHI) irradiation has been used as a tool to enhance the electrochemical properties of ionic liquid-based nanocomposite polymer electrolytes dispersed with dedoped polyaniline (PAni) nanorods; 100 MeV Si9+ ions with four different fluences of 5?×?1010, 1?×?1011, 5?×?1011, and 1?×?1012 ions cm?2 have been used as SHI. XRD results depict that with increasing ion fluence, crystallinity decreases due to chain scission up to fluence of 5?×?1011 ions cm?2, and at higher fluence, crystallinity increases due to cross-linking of polymer chains. Ionic conductivity, electrochemical stability, and dielectric properties are enhanced with increasing ion fluence attaining maximum value at the fluence of 5?×?1011 ions cm?2 and subsequently decrease. Optimum ionic conductivity of 1.5?×?10?2 S cm?1 and electrochemical stability up to 6.3 V have been obtained at the fluence of 5?×?1011 ions cm?2. Ac conductivity studies show that ion conduction takes place through hopping of ions from one coordination site to the other. On SHI irradiation, amorphicity of the polymer matrix increases resulting in increased segmental motion which facilitates ion hopping leading to an increase in ionic conductivity. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) measurements show that SHI-irradiated nanocomposite polymer electrolytes are thermally stable up to 240–260 °C.  相似文献

We report on a search for supermassive nuclei in nature with masses up to 107 amu. Such exotic nuclei might consist, for example, of stable strange matter, which comprises a mixture of up, down, and strange quarks, or of relic particles from the early Universe. The experiments are based on Rutherford backscattering of heavy ions, preferably238U, from various target samples. The measured parameters of a detected particle are its time-of-flight, scattering angle, and specific ionization. From this information the mass of the target nucleus can be inferred. Upper limits for the abundance of strange supermassive nuclei with massesA?4·102 to 107 amu relative to the number of nucleons were found to be in the range 10?11 to 10?15. For the narrower mass rangeA ?103 to 104 amu the limit is 2· 10?17.  相似文献

Present astronomical data indicate an unbound universe with density ~1.6 × 10?31 g cm?3 in which galaxies could not have formed gravitationally. We show how magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) processes allow galaxy formation in an open anisotropic MHD universe with shear, rotation, and fluid flow. The dipole anisotropy of the microwave background radiation sets their respective first-order values at 3.7×10?15 yr?1, 10?14 yr?1, and 5×10?4 c. Second-order effects of Maxwell and Reynolds stresses require that the magnetic field, shear, and Hubble expansion be 10?8 G, 3.7×10?15 yr?1, and 10?10 yr?1 (100 km sec?1 Mpc?1). The model is rigidly self-consistent, predicting both the recent value of the Hubble expansion above and of the shear (? 9×10?15 yr?1) given by the microwave background's recently measured quadrupole anisotropy.  相似文献

Abstract

High temperature gas release from helium-implanted palladium has been investigated for He/Pd atom fractions from 5 × 10?6 to 5 × 10?2. The temperature required for 25 per cent He release increases with increasing dose to an atom fraction of 10?4, where a sudden reversal occurs for higher concentrations. The release is associated with dramatic changes in the surface features of the palladium. A qualitative physical model is presented to explain the data.  相似文献

Abstract

The electrical conductivity and thermoelectric power of pure and doped oxides system La2O3-Cr2O3-Al2O3 were investigated. Only single phase was observed in the compositions studied (20 atom fraction of aluminium).

The conductivity increases with increasing chromium content in the range of compositions studied, the values ranging from 10?4 (ω-cm)?1 to 1. 2 × 10?1(ω-cm)?1. In the case of samples doped with calcium (0. 01) the corresponding values range from 2 × 10?1 (ω-cm)?1 to 1. 67(ω-cm)?1. The significance of the results has been discussed.  相似文献

We report on the stress–density and rate-dependent response for Ta, ramp compressed to 330?GPa with strain rates up to 5?×?108?s?1. We employ temporally shaped laser drives to compress Ta stepped foils over several to tens of nanoseconds. Lagrangian wave-profile analysis reveals a stress–density relationship which falls below the Hugoniot, above the hydrostat, and is consistent with ramp-compression experiments at lower strain rates. We also report on the peak elastic stress prior to plastic deformation as a function of strain rate for laser-driven ramp and shock-compression data spanning the 1–50?×?107?s?1 strain-rate range. When combined with previously published lower strain data (101–107?s?1), we observe a change in rate dependence, suggesting a transition from thermally activated to defect-limited (phonon drag) dislocation motion occurring at a strain rate of about 105?s?1.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In the present work, effects of silicon negative ion implantation into semi-insulating gallium arsenide (GaAs) samples with fluences varying between 1?×?1015 and 4?×?1017?ions?cm?2 at 100?keV have been described. Atomic force microscopic images obtained from samples implanted with fluence up to 1?×?1017?ion?cm?2 showed the formation of GaAs clusters on the surface of the sample. The shape, size and density of these clusters were found to depend on ion fluence. Whereas sample implanted at higher fluence of 4?×?1017?ions?cm?2 showed bump of arbitrary shapes due to cumulative effect of multiple silicon ion impact with GaAs on the same place. GXRD study revealed formation of silicon crystallites in the gallium arsenide sample after implantation. The silicon crystallite size estimated from the full width at half maxima of silicon (111) XRD peak using Debye-Scherrer formula was found to vary between 1.72 and 1.87?nm with respect to ion fluence. Hall measurement revealed the formation of n-type layer in gallium arsenide samples. The current–voltage measurement of the sample implanted with different fluences exhibited the diode like behavior.  相似文献

Europium diffusion in samarium sulfide was studied in the temperature range from 780 to 1100°C. Data on the diffusion coefficient and activation energies for the diffusion of europium in single-crystal and polycrystalline SmS samples were obtained. In single-crystal samarium sulfide, europium was shown to migrate predominantly over lattice sites (D ? 10?12?10?9 cm2/s). In SmS polycrystals, diffusion was found to exhibit a complex pattern and have both a slow (D ? 10?10?10?9 cm2/s) and a fast (D ? 10?8?10?7 cm2/s) component. Europium diffusion in a polycrystal is primarily due to europium migration over the boundaries of single-crystal grains in the polycrystal, whose characteristic size is assumed to be that of x-ray coherent-scattering regions.  相似文献

The electron stimulated desorption of Xe adsorbed on the clean and on oxygen and CO covered tungsten (110) surfaces has been investigated. Only neutral Xe desorption was observed; for Xe on clean W a very small initial regime with cross section 10?17cm2 is followed by a slow decay with cross section 3×10?19cm2. The Xe yield varies nonlinearly with coverage, suggesting desorption from edges of islands or from sites with less than their full complement of nearest neighbor Xe atoms. Desorption from oxygen or CO covered surfaces results in an apparent desorption cross section identical to that of the underlying adsorbate. This results from a kicking off of Xe by electron desorbed O or CO. The true cross sections for these processes are ~10?14cm2 for Xe-0 and ~10?15 cm2 for Xe-CO. Some speculations about the mechanism, particularly the absence of ions are presented.  相似文献

The rare semileptonic B-meson decay B → ??+?? is considered. The partial decay rate integrated over the 1–8 GeV2 interval of the dilepton invariant mass squared is computed with a 10% systematic uncertainty arising from the model dependence of the distribution amplitude. The purely perturbative contribution to the decay probability amounts to ? ~ 10?12, which suggests that the LHC experiments could observe the B → ??+?? decay in a few years of data taking.  相似文献

Attempts were made to grow CeO2 and ThO2 single crystals doped with transition metal ions. Only Fe3+ and Mn2+ could be detected by the EPR technique. The EPR spectrum of Fe3+ in CeO2 exhibits the well-known fine structure in cubic fields. The parameters areg=2.0044(1) anda=15.6(1)·10?4 cm?1. The hyperfine constantA for57Fe in hexahedral coordination was found to be 8.9(1)·10?4 cm?1. The EPR spectrum of Mn2+ in CeO2 reveals two cubic Mn2+ centers. The parameters for center 1 areg=1.9999(1) andA=86.9(1)·10?4 cm?1 and for center 2g=1.9984(1) andA=87.0(1)·10?4 cm?1. Heating the Mn doped CeO2 samples in hydrogen, the Mn2+ centers transform from cubic into trigonal centers with approximate values ofg=1.9988(2),A=84.5(6)·10?4 cm?1 andD=203(1)·10?4 cm?1. The two observed Mn2+ centers in ThO2 exhibita priori axial symmetry with approximate values ofg=2.0006(2),A=88.9(4)·10?4 cm?1 andD=33(3)·10?4 cm?1.  相似文献
