We obtain two formulae for the higher Frobenius-Schur indicators: one for a spherical fusion category in terms of the twist of its center and the other one for a modular tensor category in terms of its twist. The first one is a categorical generalization of an analogous result by Kashina, Sommerhäuser, and Zhu for Hopf algebras, and the second one extends Bantay's 2nd indicator formula for a conformal field theory to higher degrees. These formulae imply the sequence of higher indicators of an object in these categories is periodic. We define the notion of Frobenius-Schur (FS-)exponent of a pivotal category to be the global period of all these sequences of higher indicators, and we prove that the FS-exponent of a spherical fusion category is equal to the order of the twist of its center. Consequently, the FS-exponent of a spherical fusion category is a multiple of its exponent, in the sense of Etingof, by a factor not greater than 2. As applications of these results, we prove that the exponent and the dimension of a semisimple quasi-Hopf algebra H have the same prime divisors, which answers two questions of Etingof and Gelaki affirmatively for quasi-Hopf algebras. Moreover, we prove that the FS-exponent of H divides dim4(H). In addition, if H is a group-theoretic quasi-Hopf algebra, the FS-exponent of H divides dim2(H), and this upper bound is shown to be tight.  相似文献

Partial abelian monoids (PAMs) are structures (), where is a partially defined binary operation with domain , which is commutative and associative in a restricted sense, and 0 is the neutral element. PAMs with the Riesz decomposition properties and binary relations with special properties on PAMs are studied. A nilmanifold admits an Anosov diffeomorphism if and only if its fundamental group (which is finitely generated, torsion-free and nilpotent) supports an automorphism having no eigenvalues of absolute value one. Here we concentrate on nilpotency class 2 and fundamental groups whose commutator subgroup is of maximal torsion-free rank. We prove that the corresponding nilmanifold admits an Anosov diffeomorphism if and only if the torsion-free rank of the abelianization of its fundamental group is greater than or equal to 3.

In this paper, we consider two types of inverse sorting problems. The first type is an inverse sorting problem by minimizing the total weighted number of changes with bound constraints. We present an O(n 2) time algorithm to solve the problem. The second type is a partial inverse sorting problem and a variant of the partial inverse sorting problem. We show that both the partial inverse sorting problem and the variant can be solved by a combination of a sorting problem and an inverse sorting problem. Ben‐Sasson and Sudan (RSA 2006) showed that taking the repeated tensor product of linear codes with very large distance results in codes that are locally testable. Due to the large distance requirement the associated tensor products could be applied only over sufficiently large fields. Then Meir (SICOMP 2009) used this result to present a combinatorial construction of locally testable codes with largest known rate. As a consequence, this construction was obtained over sufficiently large fields. In this paper we improve the result of Ben‐Sasson and Sudan and show that for any linear codes the associated tensor products are locally testable. Consequently, the construction of Meir can be taken over any field, including the binary field. Moreover, a combination of our result with the result of Spielman (IEEE IT, 1996) implies a construction of linear codes (over any field) that combine the following properties:
  • have constant rate and constant relative distance;
  • have blocklength n and are testable with n? queries, for any constant ? > 0;
  • linear time encodable and linear‐time decodable from a constant fraction of errors.

The paper aims at developing a theory of nuclear (in the topological algebraic sense) pro-C*-algebras (which are inverse limits of C*-algebras) by investigating completely positive maps and tensor products. By using the structure of matrix algebras over a pro-C*-algebra, it is shown that a unital continuous linear map between pro-C*-algebrasA andB is completely positive iff by restriction, it defines a completely positive map between the C*-algebrasb(A) andb(B) consisting of all bounded elements ofA andB. In the metrizable case,A andB are homeomorphically isomorphic iff they are matricially order isomorphic. The injective pro-C*-topology α and the projective pro-C*-topology v on A⊗B are shown to be minimal and maximal pro-C*-topologies; and α coincides with the topology of biequicontinous convergence iff eitherA orB is abelian. A nuclear pro-C*-algebraA is one that satisfies, for any pro-C*-algebra (or a C*-algebra)B, any of the equivalent requirements; (i) α =v onA ⊗B (ii)A is inverse limit of nuclear C*-algebras (iii) there is only one admissible pro-C*-topologyon A⊗B (iv) the bounded partb(A) ofA is a nuclear C⊗-algebra (v) any continuous complete state map A→B* can be approximated in simple weak* convergence by certain finite rank complete state maps. This is used to investigate permanence properties of nuclear pro-C*-algebras pertaining to subalgebras, quotients and projective and inductive limits. A nuclearity criterion for multiplier algebras (in particular, the multiplier algebra of Pedersen ideal of a C*-algebra) is developed and the connection of this C*-algebraic nuclearity with Grothendieck’s linear topological nuclearity is examined. 本文研究了n维微分几何中Riemann张量指标表达式的标准型完全分类问题, 通过引入指标结构图的概念, 证明了规范类型单项式都是标准型, 并且构成次数不大于5 的Sakai类型单项式的正交基底, 由此得到Sakai类型单项式的标准型完全分类, 这是次数大于3时标准型完全分类问题的第一个结果. 同时给出了相应标准化算法, 通过比较说明了该算法比现有算法更加简便, 最后应用于自动推导和证明微分几何中关于Riemann张量的一些公式.  相似文献
