On Gage-Hamilton's entropy formula and Harnack inequality for the curve shortening flow

By the first two derivatives of the Boltzmann entropy of the curvature, which was first studied by Gage and Hamilton for the curve shortening flow in the plane, we define a monotonicity formula which is strictly increasing unless on a shrinking circle. By calculating pointwisely we give an alternate proof of Gage-Hamilton's Harnack inequality.     

On new extensions of Hilbert's inequality

By introducing three parameters A, B and α, and estimating the weight coefficient, we give a new extension of Hilbert's inequality with a best constant factor involving the β function. As applications, we consider the equivalent form and some particular results. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.     

Extensions of Korpelevich's extragradient method for the variational inequality problem in Euclidean space

We present two extensions of Korpelevich's extragradient method for solving the variational inequality problem (VIP) in Euclidean space. In the first extension, we replace the second orthogonal projection onto the feasible set of the VIP in Korpelevich's extragradient method with a specific subgradient projection. The second extension allows projections onto the members of an infinite sequence of subsets which epi-converges to the feasible set of the VIP. We show that in both extensions the convergence of the method is preserved and present directions for further research.     

Clifford Extensions

Formulating the construction of Clifford algebras, we introduce the notion of Clifford extensions and show that Clifford extensions are Frobenius extensions. Consequently, Clifford extensions of Auslander–Gorenstein rings are Auslander–Gorenstein rings.     

Regularized gap functions and error bounds for split mixed vector quasivariational inequality problems

In this paper, we consider a class of split mixed vector quasivariational inequality problems in real Hilbert spaces and establish new gap functions by using the method of the nonlinear scalarization function. Further, we obtain some error bounds for the underlying split mixed vector quasivariational inequality problems in terms of regularized gap functions. Finally, we give some examples to illustrate our results. The results obtained in this paper are new.     

Weak monotonicity inequality and partial regularity for harmonic maps

The notion of locally weak monotonicity inequality for weakly harmonic maps is introduced and various results on this class of maps are obtained. For example, the locally weak monotonicity inequality is nearly equivalent to theε-regularity. Extensions of lattice-ordered groups

A number of conditions are specified which are sufficient for totally ordered groups with polycyclic factor group to contain a finite normal series of convex subgroups whose factors possess good enough properties. In any case studying such totally ordered groups is reduced to treating extensions of these groups as well as their virtually o-equivalent extensions. The concept of a virtually o-equivalent extension is a particular case of the notion of an Archimedean extension. Supported by RFBR project No. 03-01-00320.
