We report, for the first time to our knowledge, a diode-pumped passive Q-switched 946nm Nd:YAG laser by using a GaAs as saturable absorber. The maximum average output power is 1.24 W at an incident pump power of 15 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 10%. Laser pulses with pulse duration of 70ns and repetition rate of 330 kHz are generated.  相似文献

We investigate the lasing characteristics of a laser-diode-array side-pumped electro-optic Q-switched Nd: Y3Al5O12 ceramic laser operating at 1000 Hz pulse repetition rate. Using a YAG polycrystalline rod with Nd^3+ concentration of 1 at. % as the gain medium, pumping with 808 nm laser-diode-arrays, the Q-switched laser output at 1064 nm wavelength with 23mJ pulse energy and less than 12ns FWHM pulse width are obtained at a pumping power of about 400 W, the slope efficiency is around 15%, the output beam divergence angle is about 1.2mrad.  相似文献

The self-mixing interference in dual-polarization microchip Nd: YA G lasers is demonstrated. Under optical feedback, the orthogonal polarization components of the laser would undergo antiphase intensity modulations; at high feedback level, the polarization switching appears. We also observe that the laser self-mixing sensitivity changes periodically with the frequency difference of orthogonal polarizations. An initial theoretical model is put out and agrees well with the experiments. The results are useful for self-mixing sensitivity enhancement and offer a new way of absolute distance measurement.  相似文献

We present a detailed study of a combined actively and passively Q-switched (CAPQ) laser with an acousto-optic modulator (AOM) and a codoped Cr^4+, Nd^3+ :YAG crystal The hybrid Q-switch approach is used to produce a short laser pulse with stable and tunable repetition rates. The timing jitter, average pulse width, and average pulse amplitude vary periodically with the AOM modulation frequency under a fixed pump power. The repetition rate of the CAPQ laser can be turned approximately from 4 kHz to 16 kHz with the jitter less than 400 ns.  相似文献

A fundamental mode Nd:YAG laser is experimentally demonstrated with a stagger pumped laser module and a special resonator. The rod is pumped symmetrically by staggered bar modules. A dynamic fundamental mode is achieved with the special resonator under different pump levels. A maximal continuous wave output of 61 W (M^2 = 1.4) is achieved with a single rod. An average output of 47 W, pulse width of 54 ns, pulse energy of 4.7 mJ and peak power of 87kW are obtained under the Q-switched operation of 10 kHz.  相似文献

We demonstrate a 511 W laser diode pumped composite Nd:YAG ceramic laser. The optical pumping system is consisted of five laser diode stacked arrays arranged in a pentagonal shape around the ceramic rod whose size is φ6.35×144mm. When the pumping power is 1600 W, the cw laser output up to 511 W at 1064nm can be obtained with a linear piano-piano cavity, and the optical-to-optical efficiency is 31.9%. To our knowledge, this is the highest value of laser output by using a newly invented composite Nd:YAG ceramic rod as the gain medium.  相似文献

We investigate the parameters such as the energy gains, comparisons for linearly and circularly polarized laser fields, the electron incident polarization azimuth angle, the electron incident crossing angle, and the electronincident momentum, etc., which are crucial for experimental test of the vacuum laser acceleration scheme in capture and acceleration scenario (CAS) [see, e.g., Phys. Rev. E 66 (2002) 066501]. Physical explanation of these features has been presented based on the CAS scheme. The results show that all those parameters are in the reasonable ranges obtainable by presently experimental facilities.  相似文献

A diode pumped injection seeded single-longit udinal-mode (SLM) Nd: YA G laser is achieved by using the resonancedetection technique in Q-switching operation. The pulsed oscillator laser uses a folded cavity to achieve compact construction. This system operates at 100 Hz and provides over 20 m J/pulse of single-frequency 1064 nm output. The M2 values of horizontal and vertical axes are 1.58 and 1.41, respectively. The probability of putting out single-longitudinal-mode pulses is 100%. The 355 nm laser output produced by frequency tripling has a linewidth less than 200 MHz. The laser can run over eight hours continually without, mode hopping  相似文献

The paper published in Chin. Phys. Lett. 26 (2009) 124211 reported a Q-switched 2-tim Tm:YAG laser that is intracavity pumped by a Nd: YAG laser with emission at 1.06μm. However, analysis of the experimental setup concludes that only the Nd:YAG laser is Q-switched, and the Tm:YAG laser operates in the free-generation regime. Therefore, Q-switch operation for the 2μm emission wavelength is not realized.  相似文献

We demonstrate the first quasi-three-level passively Q-switched Nd:GGG laser at 937nm using a Nd, Cr:YAG crystal as the saturable absorber. The dependences of the average output power, the repetition rate and the pulse width on the incident pump power are obtained. A maximum average output power of 1.18 W with repetition rate of 35kHz and pulse width of 45ns is achieved at an incident pump power of 18.3 W. The corresponding optical-to-optical and slope efficiencies are 6% and 10%, respectively.  相似文献

We report a Q-switched 2-μm Tm:YAG laser based on intracavity-pumped by a 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser operating at room temperature for the first time. An average output power of 5.1W is obtained with the repetition rate of 30kHz and a pulse width of 300ns. In addition, we demonstrate a 12.5-W continuous-wave 2-μm Tm:YAG laser, which is, to our best knowledge, the highest power for intracavity-pumping configuration.  相似文献

We have experimentally studied the high order harmonic generation (HHG) in CO molecules by two femtosecond laser pulses using a pump-probe technique. The delay time between two pulses is longer than the pulse duration, and the pump intensity is about 6.2 x 10^14 W/cm^2. It is found that the HHG signal is independent of the time delay in the picosecond region, but it is dependent on the distance between the centres of focuses of the two beams. The phase modulation induced by the pump pulse is regarded to be responsible for this.  相似文献

A three-rod series resonator cw Nd:YAG laser suitable for the industrial applications is presented. The symmetrical resonator laser has been developed and is rated at 1820-W output power with beam parameter product 24 mm.mrad. By utilizing the symmetrical resonator design, the characteristic of beam with multi-rod is not obviously decreased compared with that of a single one. The system total electro-optics efficiency of lamp pumped YAG crystal is as high as 4.0%. The main factors, which affect output power and beam quality of high power solid-state laser module, are theoretically analysed.  相似文献

High-power 2 μm lasers are promising candidates for a variety of applications including remote sens- ing, wind lidar, and medicine as well as mid- infrared generation via pumping of optical parametric oscillators. Due to the advantages of low quantum defects and high efficiency, resonantly pumped Ho- doped lasers have attracted great attention. 采用琼斯矢量变换的方法,分析了四分之一波片对入射椭圆偏振光偏振面的变换过程.结合声光相互作用理论和声光介质熔石英在平行和垂直于声场的两个方向具有不同声光优值的特性,理论推导了腔内引入四分之一波片后声光Q开关的布喇格衍射效率公式,计算模拟得出引入四分之一波片能够有效地提高声光Q开关关断连续Nd∶YAG激光的能力·在理论分析的基础上进行了实验验证,实验结果与理论分析符合得很好·  相似文献

A single-mode laser noise model driven by quadratic colored pump noise and amplitude modulation signal is proposed. The real and imaginary parts of the pump noise are assumed to be cross-correlation. The effect of cross-correlation of noise and amplitude modulation of signal on laser statistical properties is studied by using the linearized approximation. The analytic expression of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is calculated. It is found that the phenomena of stochastic resonance (SR) respectively exist in the curves of the SNR versus the noise cross-correlation coefficient λ and the SNR versus the pump parameter a, as well as the SNR versus the signal frequency ω in our model. It is shown that there are three different typies of SR in the model: the conventional form of SR, the SR in the broad sense, and the bona fide SR.  相似文献

We report a diode stack end-pumped Nd:GdV04 slab laser with a near-diffraction-limited beam. The output power of 45.8 W at 1064nm is obtained under the pumping power of 147 W, with the optical-optical conversion efficiency of 31.2%, and the slope efficiency is 39.6%.  相似文献

We investigate a high-energy good-beam-quality krypton-lamp-pumped pulsed Nd: YA G solid-state laser with one pump cavity. The symmetrical resonator laser is developed and is rated at 80 J with beam parameter product 12mm mrad. The total system electro-optics efficiency of the lamp-pumped YAG laser is as high as 3.3% and the stability of output energy is ±2% with pulse width tunable between 0.1 ms and 10ms. The experimental results are consistent with the theoretical analysis and simulation.  相似文献
