We propose a discrete version of the skew Laplace distribution. In contrast with the discrete normal distribution, here closed
form expressions are available for the probability density function, the distribution function, the characteristic function,
the mean, and the variance. We show that this distribution on integers shares many properties of the skew Laplace distribution
on the real line, including unimodality, infinite divisibility, closure properties with respect to geometric compounding,

We provide explicit information geometric tubular neighbourhoods containing all bivariate distributions sufficiently close
to the cases of independent Poisson or Gaussian processes. This is achieved via affine immersions of the 4-manifold of Freund
bivariate distributions and of the 5-manifold of bivariate Gaussians. We provide also the α-geometry for both manifolds. The
Central Limit Theorem makes our neighbourhoods of independence limiting cases for a wide range of bivariate distributions;
the topological character of the results makes them stable under small perturbations, which is important for applications
in models of stochastic processes.

We show that every strictly geometric stable (GS) random variable can be represented as a product of an exponentially distributed random variable and an independent random variable with an explicit density and distribution function. An immediate application of the representation is a straightforward simulation method of GS random variables. In this paper, we introduce a new family of multivariate distributions as the scale mixture of the multivariate power exponential distribution introduced by Gómez et al. (Comm. Statist. Theory Methods 27(3) (1998) 589) and the inverse generalized gamma distribution. Since the resulting family includes the multivariate t distribution and the multivariate generalization of the univariate GT distribution introduced by McDonald and Newey (Econometric Theory 18 (11) (1988) 4039) we call this family as the “multivariate generalized t-distributions family”, or MGT for short. We show that this family of distributions belongs to the elliptically contoured distributions family, and investigate the properties. We give the stochastic representation of a random variable distributed as a multivariate generalized t distribution. We give the marginal distribution, the conditional distribution and the distribution of the quadratic forms. We also investigate the other properties, such as, asymmetry, kurtosis and the characteristic function. 相似文献

本文对威布尔分布的极值分布异常数据的检验给出了一系列的方法,首先,导入了极值分布下一般Dixon型统计量的精确分布,同时还给出了改进的G型统计量,及它们的分位点表。最后本文提出了一个新的统计量;F型统计量,并用Monte-Carlo模拟的方法给出其分位点表,从而首次给出威布尔分布异常值的直接检验方法。本文进一步讨论了这些检验方法的功效,且表明F型检验是最优的。 相似文献
