Syntheses, characterization and properties of expanded corrole-ferrocene conjugates are reported. Ferrocenyl group are covalently linked to the corrole macrocycle through three different spacers groups. The synthetic strategy involved prior insertion of ferrocene with spacers to the dipyrromethane unit followed by a "3+2" acid-catalyzed oxidative coupling methodology. The optical and emission data of the expanded corrole-ferrocene conjugates depend on the nature and length of the spacer groups and the maximum effects are seen where ferrocene is directly linked to the meso carbon of macrocycle. The single crystal X-ray structure of two expanded corrole-ferrocene conjugates; [22]pentaphyrin (1.1.0.1.0) with different meso substituents, clearly reveal shortening of the C-C bond length linking the meso carbon and the aryl substituent containing the ferrocene moiety relative to meso aryl substituents without ferrocene. The results suggest that an electronic interaction between the two pi systems. Electrochemical data reveal harder oxidation for the ferrocene unit in the conjugates relative to free ferrocene; this suggests the electron donating nature of the ferrocene. The first corrole ring oxidation shows easier oxidation relative to 1 and the magnitude of shifts in potential is inversely proportional to the length of spacer. The molecular first hyperpolarizabilities (beta) measured at 1064 nm by HRS method vary in the range 20-32x10(-30) esu and imply that the beta values can be increased by enhancing the number of mobile electrons in the conjugation. The conjugates form 1:1 metal complex with the Rh(I) where rhodium is coordinated to one amino and one imino nitrogen of the dipyrromethane unit.  相似文献

Three kinds of fused porphyrinoids, L2 – L4 , possessing different types of corrole‐based frameworks were synthesized from a pyrrole‐substituted corrole isomer (norrole L1 ). Oxidation of L1 afforded a unique N‐Cmeso‐fused pyrrolyl isonorrole L2 , involving the fusion of an auxiliary pyrrolic NH moiety with a meso‐sp3‐hybridized carbon atom. Subsequently, L2 underwent macrocycle transformations to give singly and doubly N‐CAr‐fused N‐confused corroles, L3 and L4 , respectively. L3 and L4 contain fused [5.7.6.5]‐tetra‐ and [5.6.7.7.6.5]‐hexacyclic structures, respectively, prepared through lateral annulation. These skeletal transformation reactions from norrole to its isomer isonorrole and finally to N‐confused corrole indicate that multiply fused porphyrinoids could be readily synthesized from pyrrole‐appended confused porphyrinoids.  相似文献

Condensation of 1,1-dimethyl-3,4-diphenyl-2,5-bis(p-tolylhydroxymethyl)silole with pyrrole and p-tolylaldehyde did not form the expected 21,21-dimethyl-2,3-diphenyl-5,10,15,20-tetra(p-tolyl)-21-silaporphyrin, but rather its reduced derivative, 21-silaphlorin, which contains a tetrahedrally hybridised C5 carbon atom. Attempts to trap 21-silaporphyrin resulted in the serendipitous discovery of a unique transformation of 21-silaphlorin into a non-aromatic isomer of 2,3-diphenyl-5,10,15,21-tetra(p-tolyl)-carbacorrole (iso-carbacorrole). This novel carbaporphyrinoid contains a cyclopentadiene ring embedded in a tripyrrolic framework. This transformation of 21-silaphlorin to iso-carbacorrole, carried out under oxidative conditions, involves extrusion of dimethylsilylene accompanied by migration of the C(meso)-(p-tolyl) unit to create a cyclopentadiene ring directly linked to the adjacent pyrrole through a tetrahedral carbon atom. Insertion of silver or copper ions into iso-carbacorrole gave two structurally related organometallic complexes of "true" carbacorrole in which the metal(III) ions are bound by three pyrrolic nitrogen atoms and a tetrahedrally hybridised C21 atom of the cyclopentadiene moiety. In the presence of oxygen, the silver(III) carbacorrole undergoes internal oxidation to 21-oxacorrole. The structure of silver(III) carbacorrole was determined by X-ray crystallography. The C21 atom was found to have a tetrahedral geometry. The Ag-C(sp(3)) (2.046(5) A) bond length is similar to that in silver(III) carbaporphyrinoids in which a trigonal carbon atom coordinates to the metal ion. Density functional theory was applied to model the molecular and electronic structure of 21-silaphlorin and feasible isomers of carbacorrole. The total energies (kcal mol(-1) vs. iso-carbacorrole), calculated at the B3LYP/6-31G(**)//B3LYP/6-31G(*) level for carbacorrole, iso-carbacorrole, vacataporphyrin and cyclobutadienephlorin, demonstrate the energetic preference for iso-carbacorrole.  相似文献

A thorough mechanistic investigation has been performed on the reactions of primary and secondary amines with diazoacetates, which proceed uniquely quickly and efficiently when catalyzed by iron(III) corroles and porphyrins. Two major differences in relation to other metal-based catalysts are that the iron complexes are not poisoned by excess amine and that metal-carbene intermediates are apparently not involved in the reaction pathway. The results instead point towards nitrogen ylide intermediates formed by nucleophilic attack of the amines on diazoacetate-coordinated iron complexes. Nitrogen ylides are also formed when allyl- and propargyl-substituted tertiary amines react with diazoacetates, a scenario that smoothly leads to 2,3-rearrangement reaction products with catalytic amounts of the iron(III) complexes. Similar findings regarding the superiority of the iron(III) complexes (in terms of catalyst loading, chemical yields, and reaction conditions) were obtained with thiols (S--H insertion) and sulfides (2,3-rearrangement reactions), which suggest similar mechanisms operate in these cases.  相似文献

Palladium complexes of corrole and sapphyrin were prepared in high yield and fully characterized. The corrole provides a tetradentate/trianionic square planar coordination sphere for PdII, charge balanced by pyridinium. Both one and two PdII ions may be accommodated by the pentapyrrolic skeleton of the sapphyrin, and in each case the macrocycle acts as bidentate/monoanionic ligand and the inner-sphere square planar geometry is completed by allyl anions coordinated in an η3 fashion. NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography data analyses uncovered the presence of interesting stereoisomers due to the flexibility of the ally ligands and also the pyrrole ring(s) that is/are not involved in metal binding.  相似文献

An efficient methodology for synthesizing a small library of easily tunable and sterically bulky ligands for asymmetric hydroformylation (AHF) has been reported. Five groups of alkene substrates have been tested with excellent conversions, moderate‐to‐excellent regio‐ and enantioselectivities. Among the best result of the reported literature, application of ligand 1 c in the highly selective AHF of the challenging substrate 2,5‐dihydrofuran yielded almost one isomer in up to 99 % conversion along with enantiomeric excesses (ee) of up to 92 %. Highly enantioselective AHF of dihydropyrrole substrates is achieved using the same ligand, with up to 95 % ee and up to >1:50 β‐isomer/α‐isomer ratio.  相似文献

We report the synthesis and characterization of porphyrin–corrole–porphyrin (Por‐Cor‐Por) hybrids directly linked at the meso–meso positions for the first time. The stability and solubility of the trimer are carefully balanced by adding electron‐withdrawing substituents to the corrole ring and sterically bulky groups on the porphyrins. The new hybrids are capable of stabilizing more than one metal ion in a single molecular scaffold. The versatility of the triad has been demonstrated by successfully stabilizing homo‐ (Ni) and heterotrinuclear (Ni‐Cu‐Ni) coordination motifs. The solid‐state structure of the NiPor‐CuCor‐PorNi hybrid was revealed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction studies. The NiII porphyrins are significantly ruffled and tilted by 83° from the plane of corrole. The robustness of the synthesized hybrids was reflected in the electrochemical investigations and the redox behaviour of the hybrids show that the oxidation processes are mostly corrole‐centred. In particular it is worth noting that the Por‐Cor‐Por hybrid can further be manipulated due to the presence of substituent‐free meso‐positions on both the terminals.  相似文献

Pyridine attacks : Nucleophilic addition of pyridine derivatives to a doubly linked corrole, which is a stable singlet biradical species, occurs at the bay area with high regioselectivity to provide zwitterionic dimers (see picture; Ar=C6F5). Charge transfer between the anionic corrole and the pyridinium groups induces effective fluorescence quenching of the corrole dimer, which can be utilized for selective fluoride ion recognition.

The coordination chemistry of porphyrins has traditionally involved the ability of the porphyrin's tetrapyrrolic core to accommodate metal ions of varying charges and sizes, and on the organometallic chemistry of the resulting metalloporphyrins. However, the organometallic chemistry of porphyrins is not necessarily restricted to the metal bound in the porphyrin core, but can also be extended to the porphyrin periphery, be it through direct metalation of the porphyrin macrocycle at the meso or beta position, or by attachment to or merger of the porphyrin skeleton with ligands, followed by metalation. This Review focuses on the synthetic strategies used for porphyrins with peripheral metal-carbon bonds. The exciting results that have been produced underscore the importance and future potential of this field.  相似文献

Controlled syntheses of phthalocyanine/benzoporphyrin hybrid structures have been achieved. We report a simple means for obtaining non-peripherally octaalkyl-substituted derivatives of tetrabenzotriazaporphyrin (TBTAP), tetrabenzodiazaporphyrin (TBDAP), tetrabenzomonoazaporphyrin (TBMAP) and tetrabenzoporphyrin (TBP) macrocycles by treating 3,6-dialkyl phthalonitriles with differing amounts of the Grignard reagent MeMgBr. This range of macrocyclic products is not obtained from corresponding reactions of a Grignard reagent with 4-substituted phthalonitriles, reported previously, or reaction of MeMgBr with a 4,5-dialkyl phthalonitrile. Attempts to form a meso-substituted TBTAP from 3,6-dialkyl phthalonitriles by reaction with benzyl and long-chain alkyl Grignard reagents unexpectedly gave only the parent macrocycle unsubstituted at the meso position. The synthetic protocols are by far the most straightforward and convenient means to access these interesting, but scarcely studied, classes of material. The new series of substituted macrocyclic compounds, obtained as the metal-free and magnesium- and copper(II)-metallated derivatives, show trends in the UV/Vis spectra consistent with those predicted elsewhere by Kobayashi. Characterisation of the new families allows further trends to be identified as meso-nitrogen atoms are sequentially replaced by methine bridges, for example, the compounds provide novel examples of macrocyclic structures that show columnar mesophase behaviour. Single-crystal X-ray structure determinations have been obtained for three magnesium-metallated derivatives bearing eight hexyl substituents and constitute the first set of structural data obtained for such a series.  相似文献

Macrocycles such as porphyrins and corroles have important functions in chemistry and biology, including light absorption for photosynthesis. Generation of near‐IR (NIR)‐absorbing dyes based on metal complexes of these macrocycles for mimicking natural photosynthesis still remains a challenging task. Herein, the syntheses of four new AgIII corrolato complexes with differently substituted corrolato ligands are presented. A combination of structural, electrochemical, UV/Vis/NIR‐EPR spectroelectrochemical, and DFT studies was used to decipher the geometric and electronic properties of these complexes in their various redox states. This combined approach established the neutral compounds as stable AgIII complexes, and the one‐electron reduced species of all the compounds as unusual, stable AgII complexes. The one‐electron oxidized forms of two of the complexes display absorptions in the NIR region, and thus they are rare examples of mononuclear complexes of corroles that absorb in the NIR region. The appearance of this NIR band, which has mixed intraligand charge transfer/intraligand character, is strongly dependent on the substituents of the corrole rings. Hence, the present work revolves round the design principles for the generation of corrole‐based NIR‐absorbing dyes and shows the potential of corroles for stabilizing unusual metal oxidation states. These findings thus further contribute to the generation of functional metal complexes based on such macrocyclic ligands.  相似文献

Although the affinity of metallocorroles to axial ligands is quite low, this is not the case when the chelated element is phosphorus. This work is hence focused on the mechanism of ligand exchange of six-coordinate phosphorus corroles as a tool for affecting their chemical and physical properties. These fundamental investigations allowed for the development of facile methodologies for the synthesis of a large series of complexes and the establishment of several new structure/activity profiles that may be used to understand and predict spectroscopic features and for tailor-made modification of photophysical and electrochemical properties. This is exemplified by the facile access to complexes with terminal groups that are of large potential for practical applications based on click chemistry, optical imaging, and surface science.  相似文献
