We use ion implantation as a new approach to build an anti-ferromagnetic (AFM) cluster embedded exchange bias (EB) system. Co film with thickness of 130nm is deposited on the Si (111) substrate using magnetron sputtering, 60keV O+ is chosen to implanted into the Co film to form CoO AFM clusters coupling with Co matrix at the interface. By measuring the hysteresis loop after field-cooling, significant shifts of loop along the applied field are confirmed. When increasing the implantation dose to 2×1017/cm2 and annealed samples in N2 atmosphere, we obtain the highest HEB to 458Oe.  相似文献

The phenomenon of exchange bias of ferromagnetic (FM) films, which are coupled with an antiferromagnetic (AFM) film, is studied by Heisenberg model by use of the many-body Green‘s function method of quantum statistical theory for the uncompensated case. Exchange bias HE and coercivity Hc are calculated as functions of the FM film thickness L, temperature, the strength of the exchange interaction across the interface between FM and AFM and the anisotropy of the FM. Hc decreases with increasing L when the FM film is beyond some thickness. The dependence of the exchange bias HE on the FM film thickness and on temperature is also qualitatively in agreement with experiments.  相似文献

The exchange bias (EB) of the ferromagnetic (FM)/antiferromagnetic (AFM) bilayers in a compensated case is studied by use of the many-body Green's function method of quantum statistical theory. The so-called compensated case is that there is no net magnetization on the AFM side of the interface. Our conclusion is that the EB in this case is primarily from the asymmetry of the interracial exchange coupling strengths between the FM and the two sublattices of the AFM. The effects of the layer thickness, temperature and the interracial coupling strength oi2 the exchange bias HE are investigated. The dependence of HE on the FM layer thickness and temperature is qualitatively in agreement with experimental results. HE is nearly inversely proportional to FM thickness. When temperature varies, both HE and He decrease with temperature increasing. The anisotropy of the FM layer only slightly influence He, but does not influence HE.  相似文献

The possibility to arrange and embed magnetic micro- and nanoparticles in thin polymer film systems using flat magnetically patterned substrate templates is investigated. In contrast to self-organized particle rows forming by applying a homogeneous magnetic field, particles adapt to the magnetic field landscape of the substrate's magnetic pattern prior to polymer crosslinking. Crosslinking then fixes the particle positions in the polymer. The process is tested for composites of hydrophobic polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and maghemite nanoparticles as well as for hydrophilic polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) and hydrophilic functionalized, superparamagnetic core–shell microspheres. The substrate template is an exchange bias layer system magnetically patterned into parallel-stripe domains with in-plane magnetizations and head-to-head/tail-to-tail remanent magnetization orientation in adjacent magnetic domains. A high occupancy percentage of magnetic beads on a domain wall as well as anisotropic actuation of the composite is achieved.  相似文献

By considering collinear and non-collinear magnetic configurations, the interlayer exchange energy can be viewed as a continuous energy parameter k that can directly be correlated with the magnetoresistance. It was shown [Weinberger, P. (2002). Exchange bias due to configurational magnetic rearrangements. Phys . Rev . B , 65 , 014430] for the spin-valve system Co(111)/Co 6 /(CoO) n /Co 6 /Cu 6 /Co 6 /Co(111), n = 6,12, that the exchange bias refers to that value of k below which the magnetoresistance remains zero. Above this value a gradual change in the magnetoresistance is observed when considering non-collinear magnetic configurations.  相似文献

 采用能量极小原理及Stoner-Wohlfarth模型,研究了张应力对铁磁/反铁磁双层薄膜交换偏置的影响。在不施加外磁场时,根据体系能量与铁磁层磁化强度方向之间的关系,得到了内禀易轴与内禀难轴的位置。交换各向异性与单轴各向异性之间的竞争使体系存在单稳态与双稳态两种不同的状态,直接决定了交换偏置的角度依赖关系。分析磁化过程发现,外磁场在沿内禀易轴及内禀难轴方向施加时,磁滞回线的一支转换场发生突变,另一支转换场保持不变,最终导致交换偏置场和矫顽场出现阶跃行为。在阶跃点处,体系具有较大的交换偏置场和矫顽场。数值计算表明:张应力的大小与方向对交换偏置均有很大的影响,均可以使体系在单稳态与双稳态之间相互转变并导致角度依赖关系发生显著变化。研究表明,应力可作为一种可行的方法来控制和调节铁磁/反铁磁体系的交换偏置。  相似文献

We discuss the origin of ferromagnetism in dilute magnetic semiconductors based on ab initio calculations for Mn-doped GaN, GaP, GaAs and GaSb. We use the Korringa–Kohn–Rostoker method in connection with the coherent potential approximation to describe the substitutional and moment disorder. Curie temperatures (T C) are calculated from first-principles by using a mapping on a Heisenberg model in a mean field approximation. It is found that if impurity bands are formed in the gap, as it is the case for (Ga, Mn)N, double exchange dominates leading to a characteristic √c dependence of T C as a function of the Mn concentration c. On the other hand, if the d-states are localized, as in (Ga, Mn)Sb, Zener's p–d exchange prevails resulting in a linear c-dependence of T C. In order to have more precise estimations of T C, effective exchange coupling constants J ij 's are calculated by using the formula of Liechtenstein et al. It is found that the range of the exchange interaction in (Ga, Mn)N is very short. On the other hand, in (Ga, Mn)As the interaction is weaker but long ranged. Monte Carlo simulations show that the T C values of (Ga, Mn)N are very low since percolation is difficult to achieve for small concentrations and the mean field approximation strongly overestimates T C. Even in (Ga, Mn)As the percolation effect is still important.  相似文献

We theoretically investigate the wave-vector and temperature-dependent electron transport in a magnetic nanostructure modulated by an applied bias. The large spin-polarization can be achieved in such a device, and the degree of spin-polarization strongly depends on the transverse wave-vector and the temperature. These interesting properties may be helpful to spin-polarizeelectrons into semiconductors, and this device may be used as a spin filter.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of exchange bias and coercivity in a ferromagnetic layer coupled with an antiferromagnetic layer is discussed. In this model, the temperature dependence comes from the thermal instability of the system states and the temperature modulated relative magnetic parameters. Morever, the thermal fluctuation of orientations of easy axes of antiferromagnetic grains at preparing has been considered. From the present model, the experimental results can be illustrated qualitatively for available magnetic parameters. Based on our discussion, we can conclude that soft ferromagnetic layer coupled by hard antiferromagnetic layer may be very applicable to design magnetic devices. In special exchange coupling, we can get high exchange bias and low coercivity almost independent of temperature for proper temperature ranges.  相似文献

采用Monte Carlo方法,分别讨论了在铁磁/反铁磁双层膜和铁磁/反铁磁单层混合膜中,掺入非磁性物质后,掺杂浓度对交换偏置以及矫顽场的影响.计算结果表明:随着掺杂浓度的增大,双层膜和单层膜交换偏置都有先增大后减小的现象,而其矫顽场则先减小后增大.在相同掺杂浓度下,对随机掺杂和规则掺杂两种不同掺杂方式的结果比较发现:铁磁/反铁磁双层膜中,规则掺杂下产生的交换偏置和矫顽场都得到了增强;对于单层混合膜,随机掺杂下的交换偏置更强,规则掺杂下的矫顽场更大.研究发现对于双层膜规则掺杂可明显地导致其磁滞回线的不对称性,说明铁磁/反铁磁系统中磁滞回线的不对称性与界面自旋微结构密切相关.  相似文献

The training effect and the hysteresis behaviour of the angular dependence of exchange bias are extensively investigated upon the variation of the IrMn layer thickness tXrMn in a series of Co/IrMn bilayers. When tIrMn is very small, both of them are negligible. Then they increase very sharply with increasing tUMn and then reach maxima at almost the same value OftXrMn. Finally they both decrease when tIrMn is further increased. The similar variation trends suggest that these phenomena arise from irreversible change of antiferromagnet spin orientations, according to the thermal activation model.  相似文献
