Herein we report a simple dual‐soft‐template approach to prepare walnut‐shaped macro‐/mesoporous polydopamine particles with diameter of ca. 270 nm, highly accessible bicontinuous channels and wide pore size distribution from ca. 20 nm to ca. 95 nm. This approach provides great opportunities to tailor the soft template‐directed assembly processes and generate various polydopamine particles with controllable mesophase curvature. Walnut‐shaped mesoporous carbon particles with large open mesochannels in the range of ca. 13 nm to ca. 50 nm can be fabricated by subsequent thermal treatment under nitrogen atmosphere. Lastly, we demonstrate that the as‐derived walnut‐shaped carbon particles manifest enhanced electrocatalytic performance for oxygen reduction reaction in alkaline electrolyte.  相似文献

Monodisperse spherical hollow nanoparticles of mesoporous silica featuring mesopores with a radial orientation in the silica shell were synthesized via a dual-templating method. Specifically designed polystyrene latexes with anionic or cationic surface charges acted as the core templates, while cetyltrimethylammonium bromide served as a co-template to structure the mesopore formation during tetraethoxysilane hydrolysis/condensation. The particles were well-separated and presented homogeneous mesoporous silica shells. Average particle diameters were less than 200 nm, and the particles displayed high values of specific surface area and pore volume. The shell thickness and the hollow core diameter could be tuned independently while the radial pore structure was preserved. A detailed analysis of the nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms proved that the central cavity was completely isolated from the external medium, that is, only accessible through the radial mesopores of the shell. Consequently, our particles gather the advantages of a well-defined structure, straight penetrating channels across the silica shell, and a high accessible porous volume of the central core. These properties make them far better candidates than simple mesoporous particles for any storage and/or controlled release applications.  相似文献

A novel kind of magnetic core/mesoporous silica shell nanospheres with a uniform particle diameter of ca. 270 nm was synthesized. The inner magnetic core endues the whole nanoparticle with magnetic properties, while the outer mesoporous silica shell shows high enough surface area and pore volume. The synthesized material is expected to be applied to targeted drug delivery and multiphase separation. The storage and release of ibuprofen into and from the pore channels of the mesoporous silica shell, as a typical example, are demonstrated.  相似文献

Interfacing magnetic particles with ordered mesoporous materials is an effective direction for the development of functional porous composite materials with rationally designed core–shell structures. Owing to the combined properties of magnetic nanoparticles and mesoporous silica (high surface area, large pore volume, porosity, and biocompatibility), core–shell magnetic mesoporous silica materials have generated tremendous interest in various disciplines, including chemistry, materials, bioengineering, and biomedicine. Interfacial assembly strategies enable the rational construction of magnetic mesoporous silica materials with well‐defined core–shell structure, morphology, pore parameters, and surface wettability, which can decisively influence their physical and chemical properties and thus improve their application performance. This Minireview summarizes recent progress in the synthesis of core–shell magnetic mesoporous silica and the adjustment of key parameters, including pore size, morphology, and pore orientation.  相似文献

Core–shell‐structured mesoporous silica spheres were prepared by using n‐octadecyltrimethoxysilane (C18TMS) as the surfactant. Hollow mesoporous carbon spheres with controllable diameters were fabricated from core–shell‐structured mesoporous silica sphere templates by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). By controlling the thickness of the silica shell, hollow carbon spheres (HCSs) with different diameters can be obtained. The use of ethylene as the carbon precursor in the CVD process produces the materials in a single step without the need to remove the surfactant. The mechanism of formation and the role played by the surfactant, C18TMS, are investigated. The materials have large potential in double‐layer supercapacitors, and their electrochemical properties were determined. HCSs with thicker mesoporous shells possess a larger surface area, which in turn increases their electrochemical capacitance. The samples prepared at a lower temperature also exhibit increased capacitance as a result of the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) area and larger pore size.  相似文献

A mesoporous Co(3)O(4) core/mesoporous silica shell composite with a variable shell thickness of 10-35 nm was fabricated by depositing silica on Co(3)O(4) superlatticed particles. The Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area of the composite with a shell thickness of ca. 2.0 nm was 238.6 m(2)/g, which varied with the shell thickness, and the most frequent pore size of the shell was ca. 2.0 nm. After the shell was eroded with hydrofluoric acid, mesoporous Co(3)O(4) particles with a pore size of ca. 8.7 nm could be obtained, whose BET surface area was 86.4 m(2)/g. It is proposed that in the formation of the composite the electropositive cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) micelles were first adsorbed on the electronegative Co(3)O(4) particle surface, which directed the formation of the mesoporous silica on the Co(3)O(4) particle surface. Electrochemical measurements showed that the core/shell composites exhibited a higher discharge capacity compared with that of the bare Co(3)O(4) particles.  相似文献

A series of core–shell‐structured composite molecular sieves comprising zeolite single crystals (i.e., ZSM‐5) as a core and ordered mesoporous silica as a shell were synthesized by means of a surfactant‐directed sol–gel process in basic medium by using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as a template and tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) as silica precursor. Through this coating method, uniform mesoporous silica shells closely grow around the anisotropic zeolite single crystals, the shell thickness of which can easily be tuned in the range of 15–100 nm by changing the ratio of TEOS/zeolite. The obtained composite molecular sieves have compact meso‐/micropore junctions that form a hierarchical pore structure from ordered mesopore channels (2.4–3.0 nm in diameter) to zeolite micropores (≈0.51 nm). The short‐time kinetic diffusion efficiency of benzene molecules within pristine ZSM‐5 (≈7.88×10?19 m2 s?1) is almost retainable after covering with 75 nm‐thick mesoporous silica shells (≈7.25×10?19 m2 s?1), which reflects the greatly opened junctions between closely connected mesopores (shell) and micropores (core). The core–shell composite shows greatly enhanced adsorption capacity (≈1.35 mmol g?1) for large molecules such as 1,3,5‐triisopropylbenzene relative to that of pristine ZSM‐5 (≈0.4 mmol g?1) owing to the mesoporous silica shells. When Al species are introduced during the coating process, the core–shell composite molecular sieves demonstrate a graded acidity distribution from weak acidity of mesopores (predominant Lewis acid sites) to accessible strong acidity of zeolite cores (Lewis and Brønsted acid sites). The probe catalytic cracking reaction of n‐dodecane shows the superiority of the unique core–shell structure over pristine ZSM‐5. Insight into the core–shell composite structure with hierarchical pore and graded acidity distribution show great potential for petroleum catalytic processes.  相似文献

Hierarchical nanostructured erythrocyte-like hollow carbon (EHC) with a hollow hemispherical macroporous core of ca. 230 nm in diameter and 30-40 nm thick mesoporous shell was synthesized and explored as a cathode catalyst support in a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). The morphology control of EHC was successfully achieved using solid core/mesoporous shell (SCMS) silica template and different styrene/furfuryl alcohol mixture compositions by a nanocasting method. The EHC-supported Pt (20 wt%) cathodes prepared have demonstrated markedly enhanced catalytic activity towards oxygen reduction reactions (ORRs) and greatly improved PEMFC polarization performance compared to carbon black Vulcan XC-72 (VC)-supported ones, probably due to the superb structural characteristics of the EHC such as uniform size, well-developed porosity, large specific surface area and pore volume. In particular, Pt/EHC cathodes exhibited ca. 30-60% higher ORR activity than a commercial Johnson Matthey Pt catalyst at a low catalyst loading of 0.2 mg Pt cm(-2).  相似文献

The present paper describes an easy and quick synthesis of hollow core mesoporous shell carbon (HCMSC) simply templated from unpretreated solid core mesoporous shell silica using a cheap precursor like sucrose. Physical characterizations showed uniform spherical carbon capsules with a hollow macroporous core of ca. 305- and 55-nm-thick mesoporous shell, forming a well-developed 3-D interconnected bimodal porosity. High specific surface area and large pore volume were also confirmed, suggesting the obtained HCMSC as a promising catalyst support. HCMSC-supported Pt (nominal 20 wt.%) with an average Pt particle size of 1.9 nm was synthesized by wet impregnation, and a signal of strong interaction between carbon support and platinum was confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. In cyclic voltammetry and linear sweep voltammetry tests, the Pt/HCMSC electrode showed significantly higher electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) if compared with commercial Pt/Vulcan catalyst. The durability tests by cyclic voltammetry showed for the Pt/HCMSC a lower electrochemical active surface area loss than the commercial one in acidic solution. All the primary tests suggested that the Pt/HCMSC, due to its particular structure and the high dispersion of noble metal particles, is a promising catalyst for fuel cell applications, for MOR and ORR.  相似文献

A solvent evaporation induced aggregating assembly (EIAA) method has been demonstrated for synthesis of highly ordered mesoporous silicas (OMS) in the acidic tetrahydrofuran (THF)/H(2)O mixture by using poly(ethylene oxide)-b-poly(methyl methacrylate) (PEO-b-PMMA) as the template and tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) as the silica precursor. During the continuous evaporation of THF (a good solvent for PEO-b-PMMA) from the reaction solution, the template molecules, together with silicate oligomers, were driven to form composite micelles in the homogeneous solution and further assemble into large particles with ordered mesostructure. The obtained ordered mesoporous silicas possess a unique crystal-like morphology with a face centered cubic (fcc) mesostructure, large pore size up to 37.0 nm, large window size (8.7 nm), high BET surface area (508 m(2)/g), and large pore volume (1.46 cm(3)/g). Because of the large accessible mesopores, uniform gold nanoparticles (ca. 4.0 nm) can be introduced into mesopores of the OMS materials using the in situ reduction method. The obtained Au/OMS materials were successfully applied to fast catalytic reduction of 4-nitrophenol in the presence of NaHB(4) as the reductant. The supported catalysts can be reused for catalytic reactions without significant decrease in catalysis performance even after 10 cycles.  相似文献

Trimodal hierarchical yolk-shell materials consisting of TS-1 core and mesoporous carbon shell(YS-TS-1@MC) was successfully synthesized by using TS-1@mesosilica as hard template, sucrose as carbon source and organic base tetrapropylammonium hydroxide(TPAOH) as silica etching agent. The resultant YS-TS-1@MC contains the micropores(0.51 nm) in TS-1 core, the mesopores(2.9 nm) in carbon shell as well as a void or a stack pore between TS-1 fragcments(TS-1 intercrystal mesopores,~18.4 nm).Under the rigorous etching conditions, the crystalline structure of TS-1 core was well retained. The YS-TS-1@MC served as a good support for palladium nano-particles(Pd NPs) or Rh(OH)x species, giving rise to efficient bifunctional catalysts for the tandem reactions including one-pot synthesis of propylene oxide or amides.  相似文献

A dual‐templating method was used to synthesize a series of hierarchical carbon supports containing different proportions of spherical macropores (ca. 200 nm in diameter) and mesoporous channels (ca. 4 nm in diameter). These and some other conventional carbon materials were subsequently impregnated with Ni and tested for the conversion of glycerol. The hierarchical catalysts exhibited a significantly higher conversion (96%) and selectivity (77%) to 1,2‐propanediol, and the specificity selectivity coefficient (6.1) towards 1,2‐propanediol against lactic acid was three times higher than that observed over a conventional Ni/Cmicro catalyst (2.1). The enhanced performance of these materials, compared with the Ni nanoparticles supported on conventional carbon supports, was attributed to their high surface areas (> 1110 m2?g?1) and large pore volumes (ca. 0.4 cm3?g?1) permitting greater accessibility of substrate and/or intermediates to Ni active sites. Given that the concentration of accessible Ni sites in these materials is higher, a competitive benzilic‐acid‐rearrangement reaction to produce lactic acid was suppressed, leading to an enhanced hydrogenation selectivity to 1,2‐propanediol. This study evidences the potential benefits, which can be established from utilizing hierarchical support materials in the valorization of biomass.  相似文献

Monodisperse hollow carbon nanocapsules (<200 nm) with mesoporous shells were synthesized by coating their outer shells with silica to prevent aggregation during their high‐temperature annealing. Monodispersed silica nanoparticles were used as starting materials and octadecyltrimethoxysilane (C18TMS) was used as a carbon source to create core–shell nanostructures. These core–shell nanoparticles were coated with silica on their outer shell to form a second shell layer. This outer silica shell prevented aggregation during calcination. The samples were characterized by TEM, SEM, dynamic light scattering (DLS), UV/Vis spectroscopy, and by using the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) method. The as‐synthesized hollow carbon nanoparticles exhibited a high surface area (1123 m2 g?1) and formed stable dispersions in water after the pegylation process. The drug‐loading and drug‐release properties of these hollow carbon nanocapsules were also investigated.  相似文献

The microstructure of the Zn/ZnO core/shell nanoparticles synthesized by laser ablation in liquid medium can be facilely controlled. With the surfactant concentration increased over the critical micelle concentration, the nanoparticle transformed from pure ZnO to a Zn/ZnO core/shell structure. Further, with a decrease of the applied laser power, the ZnO shell thickness was monotonously reduced till 2.5 nm and the ultrafine ZnO nanocrystals embedded in the nanoshells were also reduced till 1.5 nm, which induced the increase of the disorder degree of the nanoshell lattice. The controlling mechanism was discussed according to the competition of capping protection and the oxidation reaction of laser-induced plasma. Blue photoluminescence from the ZnO nanoshells was observed. The emission band exhibited abnormal red-blue shift and narrowing with increasing temperature. Such temperature-dependent behaviors can be well described by a localization model involving an interstitial zinc defect center. These results indicate that this method provides a convenient and universal way to obtain various metal/oxide core/shell nanoparticles with controllable microstructure, and it will be beneficial to an understanding of the physical origins of the blue emission in nanostructured ZnO as well as to extending its optical and electronic applications.  相似文献

Highly crystallized mesoporous ZrO2 nanomaterials were synthesized by solvent evaporation induced self‐assembly approach. Ordered mesoporous ZrO2 nanomaterials were characterized by TEM, SEM, BET, XRD and UV‐Vis spectroscopy. The obtained nanomaterials exhibit the close‐packing mesopores with average pore size of 7 nm and a highly crystallized framework with tetragonal phase. A non‐enzyme electrochemical sensor based on ordered mesoporous ZrO2 is established for selective detection of methyl parathion (MP). The online extraction of MP is firstly achieved by ZrO2 modified electrode at open‐circuit potential for 5 min., and the sensitive detection of MP is performed by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) method. By comparison, DPV responses of mesoporous ZrO2 are 40 times and 25 times larger than that of mesoporous silica and mesoporous carbon with the similar pore structure, implying the specific affinity advantage of zirconia to phosphoric group. The quantitative analysis result shows that the voltammetric currents are linear with concentrations of MP ranging from 1 ng/ml to 2 μg/ml with a detection limit of 0.53 ng/ml. The sensor also exhibits good stability and high selectivity against interfering species. The excellent analytical performances are owed to the accessible and uniform mesoporous structures, highly crystallized frameworks of ZrO2 and its specific affinity to phosphate groups.  相似文献

We report for the first time the synthesis of free-standing mesoporous carbon films with highly ordered pore architecture by a simple coating-etching approach, which have an intact morphology with variable sizes as large as several square centimeters and a controllable thickness of 90 nm to ~3 μm. The mesoporous carbon films were first synthesized by coating a resol precursors/Pluronic copolymer solution on a preoxidized silicon wafer and forming highly ordered polymeric mesostructures based on organic-organic self-assembly, followed by carbonizing at 600 °C and finally etching of the native oxide layer between the carbon film and the silicon substrate. The mesostructure of this free-standing carbon film is confirmed to be an ordered face-centered orthorhombic Fmmm structure, distorted from the (110) oriented body-centered cubic Im3?m symmetry. The mesoporosity of the carbon films has been evaluated by nitrogen sorption, which shows a high specific BET surface area of 700 m(2)/g and large uniform mesopores of ~4.3 nm. Both mesostructures and pore sizes can be tuned by changing the block copolymer templates or the ratio of resol to template. These free-standing mesoporous carbon films with cracking-free uniform morphology can be transferred or bent on different surfaces, especially with the aid of the soft polymer layer transfer technique, thus allowing for a variety of potential applications in electrochemistry and biomolecule separation. As a proof of concept, an electrochemical supercapacitor device directly made by the mesoporous carbon thin films shows a capacitance of 136 F/g at 0.5 A/g. Moreover, a nanofilter based on the carbon films has shown an excellent size-selective filtration of cytochrome c and bovine serum albumin.  相似文献

The preparation of nanocomposite materials from carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and metal or metal oxide nanoparticles has important implications to the development of advanced catalytic and sensory materials. This paper reports findings of an investigation of the preparation of nanoparticle-coated carbon nanotube composite materials. Our approach involves molecularly mediated assembly of monolayer-capped nanoparticles on multiwalled CNTs via a combination of hydrophobic and hydrogen-bonding interactions between the capping/mediating shell and the CNT surface. The advantage of this route is that it does not require tedious surface modification of CNTs. We have demonstrated its simplicity and effectiveness for assembling alkanethiolate-capped gold nanoparticles of 2-5 nm core sizes onto CNTs with controllable coverage and spatially isolated character. The loading and distribution of the nanoparticles on CNTs depend on the relative concentrations of gold nanoparticles, CNTs, and mediating or linking agents. The composite nanomaterials can be dispersed in organic solvent, and the capping/linking shells can be removed by thermal treatment to produce controllable nanocrystals on the CNT surfaces. The nanocomposite materials are characterized using transmission electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy techniques. The results will be discussed in terms of developing advanced catalytic and sensory nanomaterials.  相似文献

Superparamagnetic microspheres with an Fe3O4@SiO2 core and a perpendicularly aligned mesoporous SiO2 shell were synthesized through a surfactant-templating sol-gel approach. The microspheres possess high magnetization (53.3 emu/g), high surface area (365 m2/g), large pore volume (0.29 cm3/g), and uniform mesopore (2.3 nm). By using the unique core-shell microspheres with accessible large pores and excellent magnetic property, a fast removal of microcystins with high efficiency (>95%) can be achieved.  相似文献
