By investigating the properties of some special covers and envelopes of modules, we prove that if R is a Gorenstein ring with the injective envelope of R R flat, then a left R-module is Gorenstein injective if and only if it is strongly cotorsion, and a right R-module is Gorenstein flat if and only if it is strongly torsionfree. As a consequence, we get that for an Auslander-Gorenstein ring R, a left R-module is Gorenstein injective (resp. flat) if and only if it is strongly cotorsion (resp. torsionfree).  相似文献

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring and A an Artinian R-module. We prove that if A has finite Gorenstein injective dimension, then A possesses a Gorenstein injective envelope which is special and Artinian. This, in particular, yields that over a Gorenstein ring any Artinian module possesses a Gorenstein injective envelope which is special and Artinian.  相似文献

Gorenstein flatness and injectivity over Gorenstein rings   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Let R be a Gorenstein ring.We prove that if I is an ideal of R such that R/I is a semi-simple ring, then the Gorenstein flat dimension of R/I as a right R-module and the Gorenstein injective dimension of R/I as a left R-module are identical. In addition,we prove that if R→S is a homomorphism of rings and SE is an injective cogenerator for the category of left S-modules,then the Gorenstein flat dimension of S as a right R-module and the Gorenstein injective dimension of E as a left R-module are identical. We also give some applications of these results.  相似文献

Let R be a left Noetherian ring, S a right Noetherian ring and R ω a Wakamatsu tilting module with S = End( R ω). We introduce the notion of the ω-torsionfree dimension of finitely generated R-modules and give some criteria for computing it. For any n ? 0, we prove that l.id R (ω) = r.id S (ω) ? n if and only if every finitely generated left R-module and every finitely generated right S-module have ω-torsionfree dimension at most n, if and only if every finitely generated left R-module (or right S-module) has generalized Gorenstein dimension at most n. Then some examples and applications are given.  相似文献

Let (R, 𝔪) be a commutative Noetherian local ring. It is known that R is Cohen–Macaulay if there exists either a nonzero finitely generated R-module of finite injective dimension or a nonzero Cohen–Macaulay R-module of finite projective dimension. In this article, we investigate the Gorenstein analogues of these facts.  相似文献

Abstract

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring. There are several characterizations of Gorenstein rings in terms of classical homological dimensions of their modules. In this paper, we use Gorenstein dimensions (Gorenstein injective and Gorenstein flat dimension) to describe Gorenstein rings. Moreover a characterization of Gorenstein injective (resp. Gorenstein flat) modules over Gorenstein rings is given in terms of their Gorenstein flat (resp. Gorenstein injective) resolutions.  相似文献

This paper investigates the structure of cyclically pure (or C-pure) projective modules. In particular, it is shown that a ring R is left Noetherian if and only if every C-pure projective left R-module is pure projective. Also, over a left hereditary Noetherian ring R, a left R-module M is C-pure projective if and only if M = NP, where N is a direct sum of cyclic modules and P is a projective left R-module. The relationship C-purity with purity and RD-purity are also studied. It is shown that if R is a local duo-ring, then the C-pure projective left R-modules and the pure projective left R-modules coincide if and only if R is a principal ideal ring. If R is a left perfect duo-ring, then the C-pure projective left R-modules and the pure projective left R-modules coincide if and only if R is left Köthe (i.e., every left R-module is a direct sum of cyclic modules). Also, it is shown that for a ring R, if every C-pure projective left R-module is RD-projective, then R is left Noetherian, every p-injective left R-module is injective and every p-flat right R-module is flat. Finally, it is shown that if R is a left p.p-ring and every C-pure projective left R-module is RD-projective, then R is left Noetherian hereditary. The converse is also true when R is commutative, but it does not hold in the noncommutative case.  相似文献

It is known that a ring R is left Noetherian if and only if every left R-module has an injective (pre)cover. We show that (1) if R is a right n-coherent ring, then every right R-module has an (n, d)-injective (pre)cover; (2) if R is a ring such that every (n, 0)-injective right R-module is n-pure extending, and if every right R-module has an (n, 0)-injective cover, then R is right n-coherent. As applications of these results, we give some characterizations of (n, d)-rings, von Neumann regular rings and semisimple rings.  相似文献

In this article, several characterizations of certain classes of rings via FC-purity and I-purity are considered. Among others results, it is shown that every I-pure injective left R-module is projective if and only if every FC-pure projective left R-module is injective, if and only if, R is a semisimple ring. In particular, the structures of FC-pure projective and I-pure projective modules over a left Artinian ring are completely described. Also, it is shown that every left R-module is FC-pure projective if and only if every indecomposable left R-module is a finitely presented cyclic R-module, if and only if, R is a left Köthe ring. Finally, we introduce FC-pure flatness and I-pure flatness of modules and several characterizations of these notions are given. In particular, we show that a commutative ring R is quasi-Frobenius if and only if R is an Artinian ring and I-pure injective, if and only if, R is an Artinian ring and the injective envelope E(R) is an FC-pure projective R-module.  相似文献

Relative copure injective and copure flat modules   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Let R be a ring, n a fixed nonnegative integer and In (Fn) the class of all left (right) R-modules of injective (flat) dimension at most n. A left R-module M (resp., right R-module F) is called n-copure injective (resp., n-copure flat) if (resp., ) for any NIn. It is shown that a left R-module M over any ring R is n-copure injective if and only if M is a kernel of an In-precover f:AB of a left R-module B with A injective. For a left coherent ring R, it is proven that every right R-module has an Fn-preenvelope, and a finitely presented right R-module M is n-copure flat if and only if M is a cokernel of an Fn-preenvelope KF of a right R-module K with F flat. These classes of modules are also used to construct cotorsion theories and to characterize the global dimension of a ring under suitable conditions.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring. It is shown that the finitely generated R-module M with finite Gorenstein dimension is reflexive if and only if M p is reflexive for p ∈ Spec(R) with depth(R p) ? 1, and $G - {\dim _{{R_p}}}$ (M p) ? depth(R p) ? 2 for p ∈ Spec(R) with depth(R p) ? 2. This gives a generalization of Serre and Samuel’s results on reflexive modules over a regular local ring and a generalization of a recent result due to Belshoff. In addition, for n ? 2 we give a characterization of n-Gorenstein rings via Gorenstein dimension of the dual of modules. Finally it is shown that every R-module has a k-torsionless cover provided R is a k-Gorenstein ring.  相似文献

Let R be a ring. An R-module M is finitely annihilated if the annihilator of M is the annihilator of a finite subset of M. It is proved that if R has right socle S then the ring R/S is right Artinian if and only if every singular right R-module is finitely annihilated. Moreover, a right Noetherian ring R is right Artinian if and only if every uniform right R-module is finitely annihilated. In addition, a (right and left) Noetherian ring is (right and left) Artinian if and only if every injective right R-module is finitely annihilated. In this paper, we study Gorenstein injective modules over a local Noetherian ring R. For an R-module M, we show that M is Gorenstein injective if and only if Hom R (Ȓ,M) belongs to Auslander category B(Ȓ), M is cotorsion and Ext i R (E,M) = 0 for all injective R-modules E and all i > 0. We characterize right Noetherian rings over which all simple modules are almost injective. It is proved that R is such a ring, if and only if, the complements of semisimple submodules of every R-module M are direct summands of M, if and only if, R is a finite direct sum of right ideals Ir, where Ir is either a Noetherian V-module with zero socle, or a simple module, or an injective module of length 2. A commutative Noetherian ring for which all simple modules are almost injective is precisely a finite direct product of rings Ri, where Ri is either a field or a quasi-Frobenius ring of length 2. We show that for commutative rings whose all simple modules are almost injective, the properties of Kasch, (semi)perfect, semilocal, quasi-Frobenius, Artinian, and Noetherian coincide.  相似文献

Let R be a left and right Noetherian ring and C a semidualizing R-bimodule. We introduce a transpose Tr c M of an R-module M with respect to C which unifies the Auslander transpose and Huang’s transpose, see Z.Y.Huang, On a generalization of the Auslander-Bridger transpose, Comm. Algebra 27 (1999), 5791–5812, in the two-sided Noetherian setting, and use Tr c M to develop further the generalized Gorenstein dimension with respect to C. Especially, we generalize the Auslander-Bridger formula to the generalized Gorenstein dimension case. These results extend the corresponding ones on the Gorenstein dimension obtained by Auslander in M. Auslander, M. Bridger, Stable Module Theory, Mem. Amer. Math. Soc. vol. 94, Amer. Math. Soc., Providence, RI, 1969.  相似文献

Injective and flat covers, envelopes and resolvents   总被引:11,自引:0,他引:11
Using the dual of a categorical definition of an injective envelope, injective covers can be defined. For a ringR, every leftR-module is shown to have an injective cover if and only ifR is left noetherian. Flat envelopes are defined and shown to exist for all modules over a regular local ring of dimension 2. Using injective covers, minimal injective resolvents can be defined.  相似文献

We prove that the class of Gorenstein injective modules is both enveloping and covering over a two sided noetherian ring such that the character modules of Gorenstein injective modules are Gorenstein flat. In the second part of the paper we consider the connection between the Gorenstein injective modules and the strongly cotorsion modules. We prove that when the ring R is commutative noetherian of finite Krull dimension, the class of Gorenstein injective modules coincides with that of strongly cotorsion modules if and only if the ring R is in fact Gorenstein.  相似文献

Let R be a ring. An R-module X is called c-injective if, for every closed submodule L of every R-module M, every homomorphism from L to X lifts to M. It is proved that if R is a Dedekind domain then an R-module X is c-injective if and only if X is isomorphic to a direct product of homogeneous semisimple R-modules and injective R-modules. It is also proved that a commutative Noetherian domain R is Dedekind if and only if every simple R-module is c-injective.  相似文献

Restricted Homological Dimensions of Complexes   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We define and study the notions of restricted Tor-dimension and Ext-dimension for unbounded complexes of left modules over associative rings. We show that, for a right (respectively, left) homologically bounded complex, our definition agrees with the small restricted flat (respectively, injective) dimension defined by Christensen et al. Furthermore, we show that the restricted Tor-dimension defined in this paper is a refinement of the Gorenstein flat dimension of an unbounded complex in some sense. In addition, we give some results concerning restricted homological dimensions under a base change over commutative Noetherian rings.  相似文献
