Occurrence and removal efficiencies of fifteen pharmaceuticals were investigated in a conventional municipal wastewater treatment plant in Michigan. Concentrations of these pharmaceuticals were determined in both wastewater and sludge phases by a high-performance liquid chromatograph coupled to a tandem mass spectrometer. Detailed mass balance analysis was conducted during the whole treatment process to evaluate the contributing processes for pharmaceutical removal. Among the pharmaceuticals studied, demeclocycline, sulfamerazine, erythromycin and tylosin were not detected in the wastewater treatment plant influent. Other target pharmaceuticals detected in wastewater were also found in the corresponding sludge phase. The removal efficiencies of chlortetracycline, tetracycline, sulfamerazine, acetaminophen and caffeine were >99%, while doxycycline, oxytetracycline, sulfadiazine and lincomycin exhibited relatively lower removal efficiencies (e.g., <50%). For sulfamethoxazole, the removal efficiency was approximately 90%. Carbamazepine manifested a net increase of mass, i.e. 41% more than the input from the influent. Based on the mass balance analysis, biotransformation is believed to be the predominant process responsible for the removal of pharmaceuticals (22% to 99%), whereas contribution of sorption to sludge was relatively insignificant (7%) for the investigated pharmaceuticals.  相似文献

采用自制小型反应器模拟实验和实时荧光定量PCR检测方法,针对指示人类、犬类粪便污染的宿主特异性标记物,以及病原性大肠埃希氏菌、沙门氏菌和志贺氏菌等典型的肠道病原菌,分别考察了序批式活性污泥法(SBR)、混凝、过滤工艺对它们的去除效果。研究结果表明,SBR工艺的去除效果优于混凝和过滤工艺,对标记物和病原菌毒力基因的去除率都在93.5%以上。SBR工艺中初期短时间的搅拌即可去除大部分标记物和病原菌。在这3种处理工艺中,宿主特异性标记物与肠道病原菌毒力基因的去除率具有显著相关性,这说明宿主特异性标记物能够在一定程度上反映污水处理过程中肠道病原菌的含量。  相似文献

The effect of a full-scale municipal wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and each of the treatment units within the stream on the removal of endocrine-disrupting compounds was evaluated by tracking 17-beta-estradiol (E2), estrone (E1), and 17-alpha-ethinylestradiol (EE2). The overall performance of the WWTP compared well with other plants, as 90.5% removal of E1+E2 and 74.9% removal of EE2 were observed. A larger fraction of EE2 entered the plant in particulate form than E1 and E2, while a lower fraction of EE2 left the plant in particulate form than soluble form. The activated sludge units reduced the concentration of E1+E2 and EE2 in the liquid phase by 88.2% and 44.6%, respectively. The UV treatment process did not reduce the amount of estrogens. The aqueous phase of the tertiary lagoon solids contained higher levels of estrogens compared with the lagoon influent.  相似文献

The fate of pharmaceuticals after discharged from hospital into wastewater was clarified experimentally by using a new lab-scale conventional activated sludge (CAS) treatment reactor. The 43 target compounds belong to nine therapeutic classes (antivirals, antibacterials, anticancer drugs, psychotropics, antihypertensives, analgesic–antipyretics, contrast media, herbal medicines, and phytoestrogens) were selected with inclusion of 16 newly estimated compounds. The efficiency of the present reactor was estimated by comparing the reaction rate constant of the solid-water partition coefficients (log Kd) between liquid and solid samples and half-life during 48-h experiment obtained by using hospital effluents with those obtained by using STP wastewater. The results that no significant difference in removal efficiency was observed between both water samples (P?>?0.05) indicate high reliability of the present lab-scale reactor. The actual rates of removal when hospital effluent was applied varied widely (mean, 59?±?40%) independent of type of the pharmaceuticals. More than 90% of 17 compounds were removed after 8 h of treatment. However, the values for psychotropics (mean, 19?±?26%) and contrast media (mean, 24?±?17%) were generally low, indicating high stability. The log Kd values ranged from 1.3 to 4.8. Notably, clarithromycin, acridine, and glycitein could be removed in both liquid and solid phases. The dominant removal mechanisms were found to be different for individual pharmaceutical. These results suggest the effectiveness of introduction of the lab-scale biological treatment system for development of a new solution for discharge of pharmaceuticals from hospital.

Phthalates are plasticizers and are concerned environmental endocrine-disrupting compounds. Due to their extensive usage in plastic manufacturing and personal care products as well as the potential to leach out from these products, phthalates have been detected in various aquatic environments including drinking water, groundwater, surface water, and wastewater. The primary source of their environmental occurrence is the discharge of phthalate-laden wastewater and sludge. This review focuses on recent knowledge on the occurrence of phthalate in different aquatic environments and their fate in conventional and advanced wastewater treatment processes. This review also summarizes recent advances in biological removal and degradation mechanisms of phthalates, identifies knowledge gaps, and suggests future research directions.  相似文献

城市污水处理厂作为城市污水处理的重要承担者,其处理能力不足势必会对下游水体产生严重影响,也给水体的再生利用带来了难度,污水处理厂的去除效率变得尤为关注。以2014年3-12月天津市某污水处理厂氮的监测数据为基础,对其脱氮效率进行了评价。结果表明:污水处理厂脱氮效率偏低,总氮平均去除率为55.61%,且出水仅达到二级排放标准(GB 18918-2002),水厂进水C/N、水温对总氮的去除效率影响很大;水厂氨氮的平均去除率为87.40%,其去除率受进水NH4+-N浓度影响很大,水厂对高浓度的进水NH4+-N(大于70 mg/L)去除效率偏低,而进水NH4+-N小于60 mg/L时,出水NH4+-N基本能满足一级A排放标准(GB 18918-2002);水厂出水的亚硝态氮含量很高,其主要受溶解氧和C/N的影响;水厂对有机氮的去除效果不佳,需要采用深度处理技术。  相似文献

本研究考察了污水再生处理系统对颗粒物(包括浊度和粒径分布)和微生物指标(包括隐孢子虫、贾第鞭毛虫、粪大肠菌群和SC噬菌体)的去除特性以及不同指标间的相关关系。研究结果表明,污水再生处理系统对浊度的平均去除率为3.53-log,其中二级生化处理及砂滤对浊度的去除率较高,分别为1.52-log和1.35-log。粒径分析结果表明,絮凝沉淀后粒径均值达到最大值223.2 μm;而再生水中粒径均值最小,仅为5.8 μm。污水再生处理系统对各微生物指标的去除率为2.96-log~4.11-log。各处理单元中,二级生化处理单元对粪大肠菌群和SC噬菌体的去除率较高,分别为2.81-log及2.14-log;而砂滤对SC噬菌体去除效果较差,仅为0.18-log。从再生处理工艺整体上看,水样浊度、粪大肠菌群、SC噬菌体和两虫浓度具有显著相关性。而对于单个取样点,除污水厂进水中 SC噬菌体和两虫浓度表现出一定相关性外,其他情况下各指标与两虫浓度间均无显著相关关系。  相似文献

A free water surface wetland was built to treat wastewater containing metals (Cr, Ni and Zn) and nutrients from a tool factory in Santo Tomé, Santa Fe, Argentina. Eichhornia crassipes became dominant and covered about 80% of the surface throughout the first year, and decreased progressively until its disappearance. When water depth was lowered Typha domingensis steadily increased plant cover and attained 30% of the surface by the end of the study. While E. crassipes was dominant, the wetland retained 62% of the incoming Cr and 48% of the Ni. NO3- and NO2-, were also removed (65% and 78%, respectively), while dissolved inorganic phosphate (i-P(diss)) and NH4+ were not removed. Zn was below 50 microg l(-1) in both the influent and effluent. Metal concentration in the sediments did not increase and retention was mediated through macrophytes uptake. During the period of E. crassipes decline the wetland retained 49% of the incoming Cr, 45% of Ni, 58% NO3-, 94% NO2-, 58% NH4+ and 47% i-P(diss). Cr, Ni and Zn in the bottom sediment increased in the inlet but not in the outlet. Since T. domingensis became dominant, retention was 58% Cr, 48% Ni and 64% i-P(diss), while 79% NO3-, 84% NO2- and 13% NH4+ were removed. Metals in the bottom sediment increased in the inlet. In spite of the significant growth of E. crassipes at the beginning, T. domingensis remained after most of the transplanted macrophytes had disappeared. Macrophyte disappearance could be related to the overall toxicity of several environmental constrains as high pH and conductivity, metal concentration, and sulphide presence.  相似文献

含磺胺嘧啶(SD)和酮基布洛芬(KP)的化学合成制药生产废水对生物处理有较强的抑制作用.实验结果表明,通过对厌氧菌和好氧菌的驯化、筛选和复配,采用酸析作预处理,结合厌氧/好氧串联工艺可有效降低废水的COD、BOD5和NH3-N;经酸析和厌氧水解酸化处理后,COD去除率为85%,再经15 h的好氧处理,COD去除率可达94%,运行效果稳定.  相似文献

城市污水处理厂是耐药细菌和抗生素抗性基因进入自然环境的主要途径之一。对污水处理厂不同工艺采集7组样品,重点考察污水处理系统中喹诺酮类耐药细菌和7种喹诺酮类抗性基因污染分布及其去除效率。结果显示,在不同处理工艺阶段均检测到耐环丙沙星细菌,最高浓度为(6.65±0.19)×106CFU/m L,耐药率为0.87%~7.24%。污水处理系统受抗生素抗性基因严重污染,入水样品中抗性基因总浓度为(1.28±0.12)×107copies/m L。污水处理工艺对抗环丙沙星细菌和喹诺酮类抗性基因具有有效的去除作用,除qnr C去除效率为75%,其余均在98%以上,但是仍有浓度为2.77×104CFU/m L的耐环丙沙星细菌和3.98×104copies/m L的抗性基因进入自然环境。表明污水处理系统已成为耐药细菌和抗生素抗性基因的储存库和污染源。  相似文献

Dechlorination with tetravalent sulfur is widely used in wastewater treatment processes after chlorination. Dechlorination can remove certain genotoxic disinfection by-products (DBPs). However, the reactions occurring during dechlorination of chlorinated secondary effluent and their genotoxic chemicals are still very complex, and the related genotoxicity changes remain unknown. 为研究北方某污水厂经过MBBR提标改造后,在秋冬季进水碳源较低的条件下生化段脱氮除磷率高于理论值的原因,采用沿程水质测定法及小试实验的方法验证其脱氮除磷效果,并通过基于16S rRNA的高通量测序对好氧段微生物菌群进行分析。结果表明,系统在好氧区存在显著的TN去除,去除率约占15%~20%,在缺氧区存在显著的TP去除,去除率高达63.04%,显示系统内发生了同步硝化反硝化(SND)和反硝化除磷现象。通过小试实验验证了好氧SND现象主要来自于悬浮载体,得益于悬浮载体生物膜功能菌分层分布;反硝化除磷现象则得益于系统较长的缺氧停留时间及较短的泥龄。系统中SND和反硝化除磷的存在是系统在低碳源消耗条件下取得高效脱氮除磷效果的主要原因;微生物菌群分析验证了SND现象主要来源于悬浮载体;悬浮载体上硝化菌群相对丰度为28.56%,是污泥的14倍,反硝化菌相对丰度约8.34%,为SND效果的发生提供了微观保证;污泥中存在Candidatus AccumulibacterAcinetobacterTetrasphaera,为该污水厂存在反硝化除磷及高效除磷现象提供了微观证据。  相似文献

研究了混凝、活性炭吸附及其组合工艺对内蒙古某制药废水二级生化出水中有机物的去除效率,同时采用荧光光谱和凝胶色谱分析了不同技术对废水中有机物的影响。研究显示,污水中主要的有机物为微生物代谢产物、腐殖酸和富里酸,分子量在800~1 250。混凝与吸附对污水中的有机物表现出不同的去除特征,混凝无法有效去除溶解性有机物,而活性炭吸附对3种物质的去除率均达到90%以上。采用混凝和吸附组合处理后,总COD去除率达到76%,满足污水综合排放标准。  相似文献
