Metal halide perovskites have aroused tremendous interest in the past several years for their promising applications in display and lighting. However, the development of blue perovskite light‐emitting diodes (PeLEDs) still lags far behind that of their green and red cousins due to the difficulty in obtaining high‐quality blue perovskite emissive layers. In this study, a simple approach is conceived to improve the emission and electrical properties of blue perovskites. By introducing an alkali metal ion to occupy some sites of peripheral suspended organic ligands, the nonradiative recombination is suppressed, and, consequently, blue CsPb(Br/Cl)3 nanocrystals with a high photoluminescence quantum efficiency of 38.4% are obtained. The introduced K+ acts as a new type of metal ligand, which not only suppresses nonradiative pathways but also improves the charge carrier transport of the perovskite nanocrystals. With further engineering of the device structure to balance the charge injection rate, a spectrally stable and efficient blue PeLED with a maximum external quantum efficiency of 1.96% at the emission peak of 477 nm is fabricated.  相似文献

Ruddlesden–Popper perovskite, (PEA)2PbBr4 (PEA = C8H9NH3), is a steady and inexpensive material with a broad bandgap and a narrow‐band emission. These features make it a potential candidate for deep‐blue light‐emitting diodes (LEDs). However, due to the weak exciton binding energy, LEDs based on the perovskite thin films usually possess a very low external quantum efficiency (EQE) of <0.03%. Here, for the first time, the construction of high‐performance deep‐blue LEDs based on 2D (PEA)2PbBr4 nanoplates (NPs) is demonstrated. The as‐fabricated (PEA)2PbBr4 NPs film shows a deep‐blue emission at 410 nm with excellent stability under ambient conditions. Impressively, LEDs based on the (PEA)2PbBr4 NPs film deliver a bright deep‐blue emission with a maximum luminance of 147.6 cd m?2 and a high EQE up to 0.31%, which represents the most efficient and brightest perovskite LEDs operating at deep‐blue wavelengths. Furthermore, the LEDs retain over 80% of their efficiencies for over 1350 min under ≈60% relative humidity. The steady and bright deep‐blue LEDs can be used as an excitation light source to realize white light emission, which shows the potential for light communication. The work provides scope for developing perovskite into efficient and deep‐blue LEDs for low‐cost light source and light communication.  相似文献

With respect to three‐dimensional (3D) perovskites, quasi‐two‐dimensional (quasi‐2D) perovskites have unique advantages in light‐emitting devices (LEDs), such as strong exciton binding energy and good phase stability. Interlayer ligand engineering is a key issue to endow them with these properties. Rational design principles for interlayer materials and their processing techniques remain open to investigation. A co‐interlayer engineering strategy is developed to give efficient quasi‐2D perovskites by employing phenylbutylammonium bromide (PBABr) and propylammonium bromide (PABr) as the ligand materials. Preparation of these co‐interlayer quasi‐2D perovskite films is simple and highly controllable without using antisolvent treatment. Crystallization and morphology are readily manipulated by tuning the ratio of co‐interlayer components. Various optical techniques, including steady and ultrafast transient absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopies, are used to investigate their excitonic properties. Photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of the perovskite film is dramatically improved to 89% due to the combined optimization of exciton binding energy and suppression of trap state formation. Accordingly, a high current efficiency of 66.1 cd A?1 and an external quantum efficiency of 15.1% are achieved for green co‐interlayer quasi‐2D perovskite LEDs without using any light out‐coupling techniques, indicating that co‐interlayer engineering is a simple and effective approach to develop high‐performance perovskite electroluminescence devices.  相似文献

Organometal halide perovskites quantum dots (OHP‐QDs) with bright, color‐tunable, and narrow‐band photoluminescence have significant advantages in display, lighting, and laser applications. Due to sparse concentrations and difficulties in the enrichment of OHP‐QDs, production of large‐area uniform films of OHP‐QDs is a challenging task, which largely impedes their use in electroluminescence devices. Here, a simple dip‐coating method has been reported to effectively fabricate large‐area uniform films of OHP‐QDs. Using this technique, multicolor OHP‐QDs light‐emitting diodes (OQ‐LEDs) emitting in blue, blue‐green, green, orange, and red color have been successfully produced by simply tuning the halide composition or size of QDs. The blue, green, and red OQ‐LEDs exhibited, respectively, a maximum luminance of 2673, 2398, and 986 cd m?2 at a current efficiency of 4.01, 3.72, and 1.52 cd A?1, and an external quantum efficiency of 1.38%, 1.06%, and 0.53%, which are much better than most LEDs based on OHP films. The packaged OQ‐LEDs show long‐term stability in air (humidity ≈50%) for at least 7 d. The results demonstrate the great potential of the dip‐coating method to fabricate large‐area uniform films for various QDs. The high‐efficiency OQ‐LEDs also demonstrate the promising potential of OHP‐QDs for low‐cost display, lighting, and optical communication applications.  相似文献

Lead halide perovskite, as an emerging semiconductor, provides a fire‐new opportunity for high‐definition display and solid‐state lighting. Earthshaking improvements are implemented in green, red, and near‐infrared perovskite light‐emitting diodes (PeLEDs). However, blue PeLEDs are still far behind in performance, which restricts the development of PeLEDs in practical applications. Herein, a facile energy cascade channel strategy via one‐step self‐organized and controllable 2D/3D perovskite preparation by introducing guanidine hydrobromide (GABr) is developed that greatly improves the efficiency of blue PeLEDs. The 2D/3D perovskite structure boosts the energy cascade to induce energy transfer from the wide into the narrow bandgap domains and inhibit free charge diffusion, which increases the density of electrons and holes, and enhances the radiative recombination. Profiting from this energy cascade channels, the external quantum efficiency of blue PeLEDs, emitting at 492 nm, is considerably enhanced from 1.5% of initial blue device to 8.2%. In addition, device operating stability under ambient conditions is also improved by 2.6‐fold. The one‐step self‐organized 2D/3D hybrid perovskites induced by GABr pave a new and simple route toward high‐performance blue emission PeLEDs.  相似文献

Solution‐processed metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have attracted much attention for applications in light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) due to their wide color gamut, high color purity, tunable emission wavelength, balanced electron/hole transportation, etc. Although MHPs are very tolerant to defects, the defects in solution‐processed perovskite LEDs (PeLEDs) still cause severe nonradiative recombination and device instability. Here, molecular design of additives for dual passivation of both lead and halide defects in perovskites is reported. A bi‐functional additive, 4‐fluorophenylmethylammonium‐trifluoroacetate (FPMATFA), is synthesized by using a simple solution process. The TFA anions and FPMA cations can bond with undercoordinated lead and halide ions, respectively, resulting in dual passivation of both lead and halide defects. In addition, the bulky FPMA group can constrain the grain growth of 3D perovskite, enhancing electron–hole capture rates and radiative recombination rates. As a result, high‐performance PeLEDs with a peak external quantum efficiency reaching 20.9% and emission wavelength at 694 nm are achieved using formamidinium‐cesium lead iodide‐bromide (FA0.33Cs0.67Pb(I0.7Br0.3)3). Furthermore, the operational lifetime of PeLEDs is also greatly improved due to the low trap density in the perovskite film.  相似文献

Stability issue is one of the major concerns that limit emergent perovskite light‐emitting diodes (PeLEDs) techniques. Generally, ion migration is considered as the most important origin of PeLEDs degradation. In this work, an all‐inorganic device architecture, LiF/perovskite/LiF/ZnS/ZnSe, is proposed to address this imperative problem. The inorganic (Cs1?xRbx)1?yKyPbBr3 perovskite is optimized with achieving a photoluminescence quantum yield of 67%. Depth profile analysis of X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy indicates that the LiF/perovskite/LiF structure and the ZnS/ZnSe cascade electron transport layers significantly suppress the electric‐field‐induced ion migrations of the perovskite layers, and impede the diffusion of metallic atoms from cathode into perovskites. The as‐prepared PeLEDs display excellent shelf stability (maintaining 90% of the initial external quantum efficiency [EQE] after 264 h) and operational stability (half‐lifetime of about 255 h at an initial luminance of 120 cd m?2). The devices also exhibit a maximum brightness of 15 6155 cd m?2 and an EQE of 11.05%.  相似文献

Perovskite light‐emitting diodes (LEDs) require small grain sizes to spatially confine charge carriers for efficient radiative recombination. As grain size decreases, passivation of surface defects becomes increasingly important. Additionally, polycrystalline perovskite films are highly brittle and mechanically fragile, limiting their practical applications in flexible electronics. In this work, the introduction of properly chosen bulky organo‐ammonium halide additives is shown to be able to improve both optoelectronic and mechanical properties of perovskites, yielding highly efficient, robust, and flexible perovskite LEDs with external quantum efficiency of up to 13% and no degradation after bending for 10 000 cycles at a radius of 2 mm. Furthermore, insight of the improvements regarding molecular structure, size, and polarity at the atomic level is obtained with first‐principles calculations, and design principles are provided to overcome trade‐offs between optoelectronic and mechanical properties, thus increasing the scope for future highly efficient, robust, and flexible perovskite electronic device development.  相似文献

Metal halide perovskites are rising as a competitive material for next‐generation light‐emitting diodes (LEDs). However, the development of perovskite LEDs is impeded by their fast carriers diffusion and poor stability in bias condition. Herein, quasi‐2D CsPbBr3 quantum wells homogeneously surrounded by inorganic crystalline Cs4PbBr6 of large bandgap are grown. The centralization of carriers in nanoregion facilitates radiative recombination and brings much enhanced luminescence quantum yield. The external quantum efficiency and luminescence intensity of the LEDs based on this nanocomposite are one order of magnitude higher than the conventional low‐dimensional perovskite. Meanwhile, the use of inorganic nanocomposite materials brings much improved device operation lifetime under constant electrical field.  相似文献

Substantial achievements have been made in green and red perovskite light emitting diodes (PeLEDs) recently. However, blue PeLEDs still lag behind with much lower performances. One of the main reasons is the mass undesirable nonradiative recombination at interfaces and within the perovskite films. In this work, an efficient hole transport bi‐layer structure composed of PSSNa and NiOx is demonstrated to simultaneously inhibit the nonradiative decays between NiOx and perovskite films by reducing NiOx surface defects and improving quasi‐2D perovskite thin film quality by minimizing its pin‐holes and reducing the film roughness. The results show that the dipole feature of PSSNa improves the hole transportation and thus PeLED performances. Moreover, by introducing KBr into the perovskite, its film quality improves and trap states reduce. Eventually, the blue PeLEDs is achieved with a very low turn‐on voltage of 3.31 V accompanied with an external quantum efficiency of 1.45% and a remarkable luminance of 4359 cd m‐2. With further optimization of the perovskite precursor concentration, the highest luminance reaches 5737 cd m‐2, which represents the brightest blue PeLEDs reported to date as far as it is known. Furthermore, the devices also show better spectral stability and operation lifetime as compared to other blue PeLEDs.  相似文献

Highly efficient deep‐blue fluorescent materials based on phenylquinoline–carbazole derivatives (PhQ‐CVz, MeO‐PhQ‐CVz, and CN‐PhQ‐CVz) are synthesized for organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). The materials form high‐quality amorphous thin films by thermal evaporation and the energy levels can be easily adjusted by the introduction of different electron‐donating and electron‐withdrawing groups on carbazoylphenylquinoline. Non‐doped deep‐blue OLEDs that use PhQ‐CVz as the emitter show bright emission (Commission Internationale de L'Éclairage (CIE) coordinates, x = 0.156, y = 0.093) with an external quantum efficiency of 2.45%. Furthermore, the material works as an excellent host material for 4,4′‐bis(9‐ethyl‐3‐carbazovinylene)‐1,1′‐biphenyl dopant to get high‐performance OLEDs with excellent deep‐blue CIE coordinates (x = 0.155, y = 0.157), high power efficiency (5.98 lm W?1), and high external quantum efficiency (5.22%).  相似文献

Since the beginning of organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs), blue emission has attracted the most attention and many research groups worldwide have worked on the design of materials for stable and highly efficient blue OLEDs. However, almost all the high‐efficiency blue OLEDs using fluorescent materials are multilayer devices, which are constituted of a stack of organic layers to improve the injection, transport, and recombination of charges within the emissive layer. Although the technology has been mastered, it suffers from real complexity and high cost and is time‐consuming. Simplifying the multilayer structure with a single‐layer one, the simplest devices made only of electrodes and the emissive layer have appeared as an appealing strategy for this technology. However, removing the functional organic layers of an OLED stack leads to a dramatic decrease of the performance and achieving high‐efficiency blue single‐layer OLEDs requires intense research especially in terms of materials design. Herein, an exhaustive review of blue emitting fluorophores that have been incorporated in single‐layer OLEDs is reported, and the links between their electronic properties and the device performance are discussed. Thus, a structure/properties/device performance relationship map is drawn, which is of interest for the future design of organic materials.  相似文献

We investigated the light‐emitting performances of blue phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes, known as PHOLEDs, by incorporating an N,N’‐dicarbazolyl‐3,5‐benzen interlayer between the hole transporting layer and emitting layer (EML). We found that the effects of the introduced interlayer for triplet exciton confinement and hole/electron balance in the EML were exceptionally dependent on the host materials: 9‐(4‐tert‐butylphenyl)‐3.6‐bis(triphenylsilyl)‐9H‐carbazole, 9‐(4‐tert‐butylphenyl)‐3.6‐ditrityl‐9H‐carbazole, and 4,4’‐bis‐triphenylsilanyl‐biphenyl. When an appropriate interlayer and host material were combined, the peak external quantum efficiency was greatly enhanced by over 21 times from 0.79% to 17.1%. Studies on the recombination zone using a series of host materials were also conducted.  相似文献

In response to the call for a physiologically‐friendly light at night that shows low color temperature, a candle light‐style organic light emitting diode (OLED) is developed with a color temperature as low as 1900 K, a color rendering index (CRI) as high as 93, and an efficacy at least two times that of incandescent bulbs. In addition, the device has a 80% resemblance in luminance spectrum to that of a candle. Most importantly, the sensationally warm candle light‐style emission is driven by electricity in lieu of the energy‐wasting and greenhouse gas emitting hydrocarbon‐burning candles invented 5000 years ago. This candle light‐style OLED may serve as a safe measure for illumination at night. Moreover, it has a high color rendering index with a decent efficiency.  相似文献

We investigate the light‐emitting performances of blue phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (PHOLEDs) with three different electron injection and transport materials, that is, bathocuproine(2,9‐dimethyl‐4,7‐diphenyl‐1,10‐phenanthroline) (Bphen), 1,3,5‐tri(m‐pyrid‐3‐yl‐phenyl)benzene (Tm3PyPB), and 2,6‐bis(3‐(carbazol‐9‐yl)phenyl)pyridine (26DCzPPy), which are partially doped with cesium metal. We find that the device characteristics are very dependent on the nature of the introduced electron injection layer (EIL) and electron transporting layer (ETL). When the appropriate EIL and ETL are combined, the peak external quantum efficiency and peak power efficiency improve up to 20.7% and 45.6 lm/W, respectively. Moreover, this blue PHOLED even maintains high external quantum efficiency of 19.6% and 16.9% at a luminance of 1,000 cd/m2 and 10,000 cd/m2, respectively.  相似文献

The charge transport in blue light‐emitting polyspirobifluorene is investigated by both steady‐state current‐voltage measurements and transient electroluminescence. Both measurement techniques yield consistent results and show that the hole transport is space‐charge limited. The electron current is found to be governed by a high intrinsic mobility in combination with electron traps. Numerical simulations on light‐emitting diodes reveal a shift in the recombination zone from the cathode to the anode with increasing bias.  相似文献

Two novel naphtho[1,2‐d]imidazole derivatives are developed as deep‐blue, light‐emitting materials for organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). The 1H‐naphtho[1,2‐d]imidazole based compounds exhibit a significantly superior performance than the 3H‐naphtho[1,2‐d]imidazole analogues in the single‐layer devices. This is because they have a much higher capacity for direct electron‐injection from the cathode compared to their isomeric counterparts resulting in a ground‐breaking EQE (external quantum efficiency) of 4.37% and a low turn‐on voltage of 2.7 V, and this is hitherto the best performance for a non‐doped single‐layer fluorescent OLED. Multi‐layer devices consisting of both hole‐ and electron‐transporting layers, result in identically excellent performances with EQE values of 4.12–6.08% and deep‐blue light emission (Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE) y values of 0.077–0.115) is obtained for both isomers due to the improved carrier injection and confinement within the emissive layer. In addition, they showed a significantly better blue‐color purity than analogous molecules based on benzimidazole or phenanthro[9,10‐d]imidazole segments.  相似文献

Organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) are increasingly used in displays replacing traditional flat panel displays; e.g., liquid crystal displays. Especially, the paradigm shifts in displays from rigid to flexible types accelerated the market change from liquid crystal displays to OLEDs. However, some critical issues must be resolved for expansion of OLED use, of which blue device performance is one of the most important. Therefore, recent OLED material development has focused on the design, synthesis and application of high‐efficiency and long‐life blue emitters. Well‐known blue fluorescent emitters have been modified to improve their efficiency and lifetime, and blue phosphorescent emitters are being investigated to overcome the lifetime issue. Recently, thermally activated delayed fluorescent emitters have received attention due to the potential of high‐efficiency and long‐living emitters. Therefore, it is timely to review the recent progress and future prospects of high‐efficiency blue emitters. In this feature article, we summarize recent developments in blue fluorescent, phosphorescent and thermally activated delayed fluorescent emitters, and suggest key issues for each emitter and future development strategies.  相似文献

MXenes (Ti3C2) are 2D transition‐metal carbides and carbonitrides with high conductivity and optical transparency. However, transparent MXene electrodes suitable for polymer light‐emitting diodes (PLEDs) have rarely been demonstrated. With the discovery of the excellent electrical stability of MXene under an alternating current (AC), herein, PLEDs that employ MXene electrodes and exhibit high performance under AC operation (AC MXene PLEDs) are presented. The PLED exhibits a turn‐on voltage, current efficiency, and brightness of 2.1 V, 7 cd A?1, and 12 547 cd m?2, respectively, when operated under AC with a frequency of 1 kHz. The results indicate that the undesirable electric breakdown associated with heat arising from the poor interface of the MXene with a hole transport layer in the direct‐current mode is efficiently suppressed by the transient injection of carriers accompanied by the alternating change of the electric polarity under the AC, giving rise to reliable light emission with a high efficiency. The solution‐processable MXene electrode can be readily fabricated on a flexible polymer substrate, allowing for the development of a mechanically flexible AC MXene PLED with a higher performance than flexible PLEDs employing solution‐processed nanomaterial‐based electrodes such as carbon nanotubes, reduced graphene oxide, and Ag nanowires.  相似文献

Color down‐converting filters with fluorescent proteins (FPs) embedded in a polymer matrix have led to new bio‐hybrid light‐emitting diodes (Bio‐HLEDs), featuring stabilities of 100 h and <1 min at low and high applied currents, respectively. Herein, the FP deactivation mechanism in Bio‐HLEDs at high driving currents is deciphered. Primarily, the nonradiative energy relaxation of FPs upon excitation promotes the release of excess energy to the polymer matrix, reaching 60 °C and, in turn, a significant thermal emission quenching. This is circumvented by changing the device architecture, achieving stabilities of >300 h at high driving currents. Here, the photoinduced deactivation mechanism takes place, consisting of a slow and reversible partial dehydration followed by a quick and irreversible deactivation of the highly emissive ionic form. This is supported by steady‐state/time‐resolved emission, circular dichroism, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopic techniques. Overall, the limitations of Bio‐HLEDs concerning matrix, buffers, device design, and FP stability are highlighted as key aspects to achieve efficient and stable devices.  相似文献
