一种被用于网络管理的性能分析模型和实现

为了提高网络的可靠性以及当今高速通信网络的管理水平,提出了一种用于网络管理的性能及可信度分析模型.该模型能够实时地计算和预测网络的各个性能参数（例如,带宽、吞吐量和延时等）的可靠性（performance-reliability）、可用性（performance-availability）和该网络的平均无故障时间（mean time to failure,简称MTTF）等.由于此模型求真解十分复杂,对于高可靠性网络的管理,给出了该模型的近似模型及其实现.     

The International Technology Alliance in Network and Information Sciences

In May 2006, the US Army Research Laboratory and UK Ministry of Defense created the international technology alliance. The consortium of 26 partners including the ARL and MoD offers an open research environment in which leading US and UK companies and universities can collaborate (see table 1). It will also fuse the best aspects of the US Army's Collaborative Technology Alliances and UK MoD's Defense Technology Centers on an international scale. The ITA aims to develop flexible, distributed, and secure decision-making procedures to improve networked coalition operations. Network science is a young discipline we have limited information models and network theories to describe the behavior and scaling of large, complex mobile ad hoc networks.1 moreover, you can't understand a coalition network's performance without understanding its cognitive and sociocultural aspects and physical characteristics. A key ITA goal is to perform basic research in network-centric coalition decision making across four technical areas: network theory, security across a system of systems, sensor information processing and delivery, and distributed coalition planning and decision making, 2. we focus on the last area because this is where intelligent systems will play the biggest role.

对等网络（peer-to—peer，P2P）技术是目前新一代网络技术研究的活跃领域。随着基于对等网的应用越来越广泛，对P2P网络的可信性的研究具有现实意义。首先介绍了P2P网络的基本特征以及P2P网络的分类，提出了P2P网络可靠性评估方法，并从可靠性、可扩展性、适应性及完整性等几方面对各类不同类型的P2P网络的可信性进行了分析和比较，最后展望了P2P未来的发展方向。     

网络管理的研究和发展

网络管理理念，模型和产品的研究和开发与计算机和通信网络相关学科的发展有着紧密联系，分布和智能的网络管理是必然趋势，目前的体系结构需要集成，Web,Java分布对象以及多Agent系统等关键技术，但是通过对现有网络管理标准和系统的分析发现，当前亟需探索和解决的是信息模型问题，DMTF提出的CIM模型和IRTF提出的SMIng是重要的方向，它们都能映射为语法简洁和语义丰富XML模块，借助W3C提出RDF建立网络管理知识模型成为可能，并已经应用在多Agent网络管理原型系统中。

文中分析了当前主流网管系统在体系结构上的缺陷,阐述了分布对象技术（CORBA）与移动智能体技术各自在网管领域的应用方法与优势。结合这些优势,给出了一个基于CORBA和移动智能体的分布式网管集成框架,并进一步通过实验模拟证实了其可行性。     

Crisis management using MAS-based wireless sensor networks

Wireless communication is increasingly used to manage large-scale crises (e.g., natural disasters or a large-scale city fire). Communication has traditionally been based on cellular networks. However, real-life experience has proven that the base stations of these networks may collapse or become unreachable during a crisis. An incident commander must also know as much information as possible about the occurring events to control them quickly and efficiently. This paper thus proposes a crisis management approach that overcomes the problems encountered by the base stations and insures relevant, rich and real-time information about events. This approach is based on wireless sensor networks, which are distributed in nature with no need for infrastructure and could be deployed in dangerous and inaccessible zones to gather information. Our proposal uses a multi-agent system as a software layer. The multi-agent system aims to improve the wireless sensor network performance by allowing cooperation between sensor nodes, offering better lifetime management and virtualizing the application layer. This virtualization supports several required applications simultaneously, including event monitoring and object tracking. Through successive simulations, we prove the importance of our approach in crisis management using several criteria to estimate the position’s error in object tracking, end-to-end delay and wireless sensor network lifetime management.     

A framework for designing ATM management systems by way of abstract information models and distributed object architectures

ATM network management has not yet reached the level of versatility and comprehensiveness exhibited by other aspects of this networking technology. Since the currently dominant general standards for broadband network management, primarily targeted towards large carrier networks, are too complex and intricate for smaller environments, e.g. LANs or corporate networks, ATM equipment manufacturers, in their effort to provide systems that exploit the power of ATM and yet remain practical and simple, usually resort to devising ad hoc proprietary extensions of simpler management frameworks, originally developed for other networking technologies. Such incompatible extensions, however, remain useless in the common case where the network is heterogeneous. The notion of abstract information modeling may be employed for improving on this situation.Building on this concept, the paper proposes a framework for developing ATM management systems intended for heterogeneous small- to medium-size networks. The general guidelines are illustrated through discussing a specific compliant management application intended for the remote monitoring of ATM network platforms and developed in the framework of a European research project. The application features a WWW interface and, as such, provides an example of the compatibility of information abstraction with the Web-based management techniques and of the benefits arising from the combination of the two notions.Lastly, and as the concept of abstracting information is inherent to recent frameworks for designing and programming distributed object systems, the paper explores this relation by discussing an alternative design of the monitoring application as a distributed object system.
