Simultaneous measurement of temperature and pressure with a single fiber Bragg grating (FBG) based on a broadened reflection spectrum is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. A novel double-hole structure of a cantilever beam is designed, and a FBG is affixed on the nonuniform strain area of the cantilever beam. The Bragg reflection bandwidth is sensitive to the spatially gradient strain but is free from the spatially uniform temperature. The wavelength peak shift and the bandwidth broadening of the FBG with a change of temperature and pressure allow for simultaneous discrimination between the temperature and the pressure effects. Standard deviation errors of 1.4 degrees C and 1.8 kPa were obtained with temperature and pressure ranges of 20 degrees C-100 degrees C and 0-80 kPa, respectively. This novel and low-cost sensor approach has considerable potential applications for temperature-insensitive strain measurement.  相似文献

An all-fiber sensor scheme for simultaneous strain and temperature measurement is presented. The sensing head is formed by serially connecting a polarization maintaining photonic-crystal-fiber-based inter-modal interferometer (IMI) with a fiber Bragg grating (FBG). The IMI, exhibiting an opposite strain response as compared to that of the FBG, is highly sensitive to strain, while it is insensitive to temperature. This has potential for improving the strain and temperature measurement resolutions. A sensor resolution of ±8.3 με in strain and ±2 °C in temperature are experimentally achieved within a strain range of 0-957.6 με and a temperature range of 24 °C-64 °C, respectively.  相似文献

A novel sensor capable of simultaneously measuring temperature and humidity has been fabricated and demonstrated using optical fiber waveguides. The sensor head is composed of a fiber Bragg grating and a low-finesse Fabry-Perot interferometric cavity. The Fabry-Perot cavity was fabricated using the electrostatic self-assembled monolayer process for the molecular-level deposition of materials of different thicknesses that form a humidity-sensitive coating on the end of the fiber, while the in-line Bragg grating fiber element is used to monitor temperature. Experimental results for a humidity range from 11% to 97% RH and for a temperature range from 10/spl deg/C to 85/spl deg/C are shown.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate a novel sensor by using a single-fiber Bragg grating that can simultaneously measure strain and temperature with the aid of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier. By using a linear variation in the amplified spontaneous emission power of the erbium-doped fiber amplifier with temperature, we determine the temperature. By subtracting the temperature effect from the fiber Bragg grating Bragg wavelength shift, we determine the strain. Experiments show rms deviations of 18.2 muepsilon and 0.7 degrees C for strain and temperature, respectively.  相似文献

We demonstrate a fiber-optic sensor scheme, capable of the simultaneous measurement of strain and temperature with a single fiber Bragg grating written in an erbium:ytterbium-doped fiber. This compact fiber-grating-based sensor scheme, believed to be novel, can be used for synchronous measurement of strain and temperature over ranges of 1100 muepsilon and 50-180 degrees C with rms errors of 55.8 muepsilon and 3 degrees C, respectively. The simple and low-cost sensor approach has a considerable potential, particularly for wide-range strain-sensing applications in which high resolution is not required.  相似文献

提出了一种利用光纤Fabry-Perot(F-P)干涉结构的微位移传感器,该F-P干涉结构是由双倾斜光纤光栅(tilted fiber Bragg grating,TFBG)沿轴向错开一定距离构成空气腔形成的.入射光经双TFBG及其高反射端面往返传播,从而构成F-P干涉结构.光纤沿纵(z轴)向移动时,F-P腔的腔长发生变化,致使干涉光谱的自由光谱范围随之产生变化.实验验证,该传感器在0~115μm的测量范围内获得了高达0.475nm/μm的灵敏度,较之前提出的光纤光栅型传感器灵敏度提高了近3倍.  相似文献

采用一种新颖的等强度梁光纤光栅(FBG)传感结构,将光纤光栅沿梁轴向粘贴在传感梁上,并确保光栅的一半粘贴在梁上,另一半则沿梁的轴向呈自由状态,通过两部分光栅对梁自由端位移和环境温度的不同响应,实现温度和位移的同时测量,测量误差不大于4%。通过多次实验验证,所得结果与理论分析相符合。  相似文献

We describe the characterization of the temperature and strain responses of fiber Bragg grating sensors by use of an interferometric interrogation technique to provide an absolute measurement of the grating wavelength. The fiber Bragg grating temperature response was found to be nonlinear over the temperature range -70 degrees C to 80 degrees C. The nonlinearity was observed to be a quadratic function of temperature, arising from the linear dependence on temperature of the thermo-optic coefficient of silica glass over this range, and is in good agreement with a theoretical model.  相似文献

A compact and low-cost device for monitoring the peak wavelength of single-peak spectral distributions is presented. The system is based on the transmission properties of a fiber Bragg grating when its period is modulated. Different types of optical signal, such as the emission of distributed-feedback lasers and the reflection of a broadband optical source produced by fiber gratings used in sensor systems, can be measured with this device. We demonstrate that a high wavelength resolution of micro 1 pm can be achieved and that our proposal can be used for real-time monitoring.  相似文献

An all-fiber sensor capable of simultaneous measurement of temperature and strain is newly presented. The sensing head is formed by a fiber Bragg grating combined with a section of multimode fiber that acts as a Mach-Zehnder interferometer for temperature and strain discrimination. The strain and temperature coefficients of multimode fibers vary with the core sizes and materials. This feature can be used to improve the strain and temperature resolution by suitably choosing the multimode fiber. For a 10 pm wavelength resolution, a resolution of 9.21 mu epsilon in strain and 0.26 degrees C in temperature can be achieved.  相似文献

为了实现复杂、恶劣环境下工程机械表面无损的应力监测方式,实现对大型工程机械的实时动态监测,提出了基于磁控溅射技术的光纤布拉格光栅(FBG)应力传感器封装方法。并对完全嵌套(整个栅区嵌套毛细铜管)和两端嵌套(栅区两端嵌套毛细铜管)两种封装方法开展了研究。从理论分析和有限元仿真的角度比较了传感器的增敏效果,前后结果一致。制备了传感器实物并进行了温度、应力和对比实验。仿真实验结果表明,该模型下FBG传感器能提高约7.5%的灵敏度。温度实验表明第二种封装结构的温度反馈相关系数R2达到了0.99948,在30℃~80℃范围内呈现良好的线性度;应力实验的相关系数R2也达到0.99924,灵敏度为6.14 pm/MPa,在该实验搭建的解调系统下精度达到0.05 MPa,可以快速、精确地解调应力。对比实验表明,光栅解调仪组成的监测系统比应变片组成的监测系统具有更高的精度,最大偏差值减小了59.8%。嵌套毛细铜管的金属化方式结合有机胶固定的封装结构简单、灵敏度和精度高,可以满足大型工程机械表面无损实时健康监测的需求。  相似文献

Fabrication and characterization of a UV inscribed fiber Bragg grating (FBG) with a micro-slot liquid core is presented. Femtosecond (fs) laser patterning/chemical etching technique was employed to engrave a micro-slot with dimensions of 5.74 μm(h)×125 μm(w)×1388.72 μm(l) across the whole grating. The device has been evaluated for refractive index (RI) and temperature sensitivities and exhibited distinctive thermal response and RI sensitivity beyond the detection limit of reported fiber gratings. This structure has not just been RI sensitive, but also maintained the robustness comparing with the bare core FBGs and long-period gratings with the partial cladding etched off.  相似文献

针对医疗行业对人体测温的需要,研制了一种以裸光纤Bragg光栅为传感元件的光纤光栅温度传感器,并对其温度特性进行了研究.采用恒温水浴对工作波长为1 557 nm和1 547 nm附近的2只光纤光栅传感器进行温度定标.结果表明,在34~48℃范围内,光纤光栅的中心波长随温度的变化呈现良好的线性关系,相关系数分别为0.998 3和0.997 4,光纤光栅温度传感器的测温标准偏差分别为0.239℃和0.245℃,可应用于医疗中人体温度的实时监测.  相似文献

根据 WDM 光纤耦合器波长解调方案的工作原理、偏振特性以及影响系统波长分辨力的因素,提出一种改进的利用 WDM 光纤耦合器的光纤光栅传感解调技术。该技术在原技术的基础上,采用偏振控制器控制入射光偏振状态,提高了解调的精度和稳定性。对 WDM 光纤耦合器的多次波长扫描结果表明,采用偏振控制器后,其波长误差可减小到 5pm 左右。实验采用 1540/1560nm的 WDM 光纤耦合器对单点光纤光栅应变传感器进行静态解调,结果表明:按此技术开发的解调系统具有 0.01nm 波长分辨力和 10nm 的波长线性解调范围。  相似文献

The physical properties of reactive powder concrete (RPC) at early-age, i.e., the first 24 h from casting, and up to an age of 7 days is investigated experimentally using fibre Bragg gratings (FBGs), a type of fibre-optic sensors. A number of FBG sensors are multiplexed together and embedded directly into the RPC specimens, and the shrinkage and temperature change are measured directly and simultaneously. The final setting time and specimen size effect were also investigated. Results showed that there is an interplay between the shrinkage and temperature. The overall shrinkage for 7 days is 488 με, with the early-age shrinkage contributing about 77% of this. The temperature curve exhibits a double peak behaviour, with the first peak appears at about 7 h, which is the final setting time. There is a size effect in that smaller prisms have a higher overall shrinkage and lower temperature change than larger prisms.  相似文献

We describe the design, fabrication, and performance of a fiber Bragg grating-based tunable optic filter. The filter, driven by two piezostacks, consists of a flexural hinge structure for displacement magnification and a fiber-ferrule assembly for axial compression of the fiber grating. Finite-element analysis was used to design the mechanical structure to achieve the required displacement magnification and the force for grating compression. A passive thermal compensation design was implemented to reduce thermal-induced wavelength drift. A feedback control system with a linear variable differential transformer was employed to control the displacement for accurate wavelength tuning and fine-tuning resolution. This tunable filter has achieved a closed-loop switching time of 17.3 ms, and a passive thermal compensation that reduced the thermal drift of the Bragg wavelength to 1.5 pm/C. The flexural-hinge structure that offers negligible backlash, noise-free motion, no need of lubricants, and no wear ensures its long-term reliability.  相似文献

Effects of the metal coatings on the fiber Bragg grating (FBG) temperature sensing characteristics were simulated and experimentally investigated. Temperature sensitivity of the coated FBG as a function of the coating material properties was simulated using MATLAB software based on the temperature sensing model. The simulation results show that the elastic modulus, Poisson’s ratio, thermal expansion coefficient and coating thickness of the coatings have noticeable impacts on the sensing characteristics of the coated FBG. It is noted that (i) there is an extreme value for the influence of the elastic modulus on temperature sensitivity; (ii) temperature sensitivity increases with the increase of Poisson’s ratio and thermal expansion coefficient; (iii) with the increase of the coating thickness, the temperature sensitivity increases first then reaches a plateau asymptotically. To validate the simulation results, several FBGs were coated with copper, nickel, cobalt, copper–zinc, and Ni–ZrO2, and subsequently the associated temperature sensitivities were measured using a network analyzer as well as a water bath. The results show that the simulation results agree well with that of the experiments, with the errors up to 5.49%.  相似文献

为解决现有关节角度测量装置的不足,提出一种基于多光纤布拉格光栅(fiber Bragg grating, FBG)的关节角度测量方法。该方法将多光纤光栅固定在套袖上,套袖戴在肘关节上,辅以自主设计的基于LabVIEW关节角度计算及数据处理的程序和可视化界面,实现对肘关节角度实时测量并输出可视化数据。该套袖具有柔性化程度高、不受电磁信号干扰、测量效率高、结构简单的优点。对所制作套袖进行测量实验,实验结果表明,该测量方法的误差约为2.88%,重复性误差在4%以下,具有实际的应用价值。  相似文献
