History of the Administrative Committee of the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society

Although for the last several years the history of the Microwaves Theory and Techniques Society Administrative Committee (AdCom) has been carried on an issue-by-issue basis in the MTT Newsletter, I thought a short historical overview might be appropriate in this Special Centennial Issue of the Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques.     

2009 IEEE Information Theory Society Paper Award

The 2009 IEEE Information Theory Society Paper Award goes to Viveck R. Cadambe and Syed Ali Jafar for the paper "Interference Alignment and Degrees of Freedom of the K-User Interference Channel," which appeared in the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, vol. 54, no. 8, pp. 3425-3441, August 2008.     

2009 IEEE Communications Society and Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award

The 2009 IEEE Communications Society and Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award goes to Tracey Ho, Muriel Medard, Ralf Koetter, David R. Karger, Michelle Effros, Jun Shi, and Ben Leong for the paper "A Random Linear Network Coding Approach to Multicast," which appeared in IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, vol. 52, no. 10, pp. 4413-4430, October 2006.     

2004 IEEE Communications Society and Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award

The IEEE Communications Society and Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award for 2004 was presented to G. Caire and S. Shamai for their paper "On the achievable throughput of a multiantenna Gaussian broadcast channel" (ibid., vol. 49, pp. 1691-1706, Jul 03).
