Regular, right self-injective rings are considered. We settle the question of when such a ring is a right V-ring, i.e., when each simple right module over the ring is injective. In a previous paper we have announced that a graph is non-planar if and only if it contains a maximal, strict, compact, odd ring. Little has conjectured that the compactness condition may be removed. Chernyak has now published a proof of this conjecture. However, it is difficult to test a ring for maximality. In this paper we show that for odd rings of size five or greater, the condition of maximality may be replaced by a new one called regularity. Regularity is an easier condition to diagnose than is maximality.  相似文献

Let o be a complete discrete valuation ring with finite residue field k of odd characteristic, and let G be a symplectic or special orthogonal group scheme over o. For any ?N let G? denote the ?-th principal congruence subgroup of G(o). An irreducible character of the group G(o) is said to be regular if it is trivial on a subgroup G?+1 for some ?, and if its restriction to G?/G?+1?Lie(G)(k) consists of characters of minimal G(kalg)-stabilizer dimension. In the present paper we consider the regular characters of such classical groups over o, and construct and enumerate all regular characters of G(o), when the characteristic of k is greater than two. As a result, we compute the regular part of their representation zeta function.  相似文献

If R is a semiartinian von Neumann regular ring, then the set PrimR of primitive ideals of R, ordered by inclusion, is an artinian poset in which all maximal chains have a greatest element. Moreover, if PrimR has no infinite antichains, then the lattice L2(R) of all ideals of R is anti-isomorphic to the lattice of all upper subsets of PrimR. Since the assignment U?rR(U) defines a bijection from any set SimpR of representatives of simple right R-modules to PrimR, a natural partial order is induced in SimpR, under which the maximal elements are precisely those simple right R-modules which are finite dimensional over the respective endomorphism division rings; these are always R-injective. Given any artinian poset I with at least two elements and having a finite cofinal subset, a lower subset I?I and a field D, we present a construction which produces a semiartinian and unit-regular D-algebra DI having the following features: (a) SimpDI is order isomorphic to I; (b) the assignment H?SimpDI/H realizes an anti-isomorphism from the lattice L2(DI) to the lattice of all upper subsets of SimpDI; (c) a non-maximal element of SimpDI is injective if and only if it corresponds to an element of I, thus DI is a right V-ring if and only if I=I; (d) DI is a right and left V-ring if and only if I is an antichain; (e) if I has finite dual Krull length, then DI is (right and left) hereditary; (f) if I is at most countable and I=?, then DI is a countably dimensional D-algebra.  相似文献

Regular homomorphisms of oriented maps essentially arise from a factorization by a subgroup of automorphisms. This kind of map homomorphism is studied in detail, and generalized to the case when the induced homomorphism of the underlying graphs is not valency preserving. Reconstruction is treated by means of voltage assignments on angles, a natural extension of the common assignments on darts. Lifting and projecting groups of automorphisms along regular homomorphisms is studied in some detail. Finally, the split-extension structure of lifted groups is analysed.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with identity. The multiplicatively closed sets U2={fR[X]: c(f)–1=R}, (U2)={fU2: f is regular} and S={fR[X]: c(f)=R} are studied. By considering various equalities between these sets, many characterizations of Noetherian rings are found. In particular, a Noetherian ring R has depth 1 if and only if S=(U2): and each maximal ideal of a Noetherian ring is regular if and only if U2=(U2).The theory of Prüfer v-multiplication rings (PVMR's) is developed for rings with zero divisors. Six equivalent conditions are given to the statement that an additively regular v-ring R is a PVMR.  相似文献

We develop the theory of “branch algebras”, which are infinite-dimensional associative algebras that are isomorphic, up to taking subrings of finite codimension, to a matrix ring over themselves. The main examples come from groups acting on trees. In particular, for every field % MathType!End!2!1! we contruct a % MathType!End!2!1! which
–  • is finitely generated and infinite-dimensional, but has only finitedimensional quotients;
–  • has a subalgebra of finite codimension, isomorphic toM 2(k);
–  • is prime;
–  • has quadratic growth, and therefore Gelfand-Kirillov dimension 2;
–  • is recursively presented;
–  • satisfies no identity;
–  • contains a transcendental, invertible element;
–  • is semiprimitive if % MathType!End!2!1! has characteristic ≠2;
–  • is graded if % MathType!End!2!1! has characteristic 2;
–  • is primitive if % MathType!End!2!1! is a non-algebraic extension of % MathType!End!2!1!;
–  • is graded nil and Jacobson radical if % MathType!End!2!1! is an algebraic extension of % MathType!End!2!1!.

In this paper, for rings R, we introduce complex rings ?(R), quaternion rings ?(R), and octonion rings O(R), which are extension rings of R; R ? ?(R) ? ?(R) ? O(R). Our main purpose of this paper is to show that if R is a Frobenius algebra, then these extension rings are Frobenius algebras and if R is a quasi-Frobenius ring, then ?(R) and ?(R) are quasi-Frobenius rings and, when Char(R) = 2, O(R) is also a quasi-Frobenius ring.  相似文献
