Relative asymptotics for orthogonal matrix polynomials

In this paper we study sequences of matrix polynomials that satisfy a non-symmetric recurrence relation. To study this kind of sequences we use a vector interpretation of the matrix orthogonality. In the context of these sequences of matrix polynomials we introduce the concept of the generalized matrix Nevai class and we give the ratio asymptotics between two consecutive polynomials belonging to this class. We study the generalized matrix Chebyshev polynomials and we deduce its explicit expression as well as we show some illustrative examples. The concept of a Dirac delta functional is introduced. We show how the vector model that includes a Dirac delta functional is a representation of a discrete Sobolev inner product. It also allows to reinterpret such perturbations in the usual matrix Nevai class. Finally, the relative asymptotics between a polynomial in the generalized matrix Nevai class and a polynomial that is orthogonal to a modification of the corresponding matrix measure by the addition of a Dirac delta functional is deduced.     

Classifying anti-commuting pairs of Toeplitz and Hankel matrices

Conditions for commuting a Toeplitz matrix and a Hankel matrix were obtained relatively recently (in 2015). The solution to the problem of describing all anti-commuting pairs (T, H), where T is a Toeplitz matrix and H is a Hankel matrix, is sketched below.     

A Fiedler-like theory for the perturbed Laplacian

The perturbed Laplacian matrix of a graph G is defined as DL = D?A, where D is any diagonal matrix and A is a weighted adjacency matrix of G. We develop a Fiedler-like theory for this matrix, leading to results that are of the same type as those obtained with the algebraic connectivity of a graph. We show a monotonicity theorem for the harmonic eigenfunction corresponding to the second smallest eigenvalue of the perturbed Laplacian matrix over the points of articulation of a graph. Furthermore, we use the notion of Perron component for the perturbed Laplacian matrix of a graph and show how its second smallest eigenvalue can be characterized using this definition.     

Equivalence of Fourth Order Boundary Value Problems and Matrix Eigenvalue Problems

We show that a class of regular self-adjoint fourth order boundary value problems (BVPs) is equivalent to a certain class of matrix problems. Conversely, for any given matrix problem in this class, there exist fourth order self-adjoint BVPs which are equivalent to the given matrix problem. Equivalent here means that they have exactly the same spectrum.     

A factorization method for products of holomorphic matrix functions

A class of matrix functions defined on a contour which bounds a finitely connected domain in the complex plane is considered. It is assumed that each matrix function in this class can be explicitly represented as a product of two matrix functions holomorphic in the outer and the inner part of the contour, respectively. The problem of factoring matrix functions in the class under consideration is studied. A constructive method reducing the factorization problem to finitely many explicitly written systems of linear algebraic equations is proposed. In particular, explicit formulas for partial indices are obtained.     

Jordan isomorphisms of generalized structural matrix rings

We describe the sub-bimodules of matrix bimodules over two structural matrix rings. Structural matrix bimodules arise as particular such sub-bimodules, and we discuss when such a bimodule is faithful or indecomposable. As an application, we obtain a large class of rings whose Jordan isomorphisms are either ring isomorphisms or ring anti-isomorphisms. Complete upper block triangular matrix rings over 2-torsion-free indecomposable rings are elements of this class.     

矢值序列空间上的一类无穷矩阵变换

对于一类经典的矢值序列空间,文中引入了一类重要子集,它包括了该序列空间的全部全有界集和许多非全有界集．利用Antosik-Mikusinski基本矩阵定理和该子集族,对于一类映射矩阵获得了一个无穷矩阵收敛定理,并且给出了一类经典无穷矩阵变换的更强刻划．此结果补充和完善了非线性矩阵变换定理．
