The work on superconducting proton and heavy ion accelerators will be reviewed. The helix seems to be an adequate structure for low velocity particles. For energies above 15 MeV/N other types of accelerating structures may be used. Superconducting Nb helices were developed at several places. A maximum gradient of 2.8 MV/m witha Q of 2.109 has been obtained recently in Karlsruhe with a ?/2 Nb helix at 90 MHz. First proton acceleration in superconducting helical structures indicates the status of the new technology.  相似文献

Superconducting rf electron accelerator prototypes have been operated at Stanford University and at the University of Illinois. Many of the beam performance goals for emittance, current, energy resolution and stability have been achieved. Lower-than-expected accelerating gradients have necessitated the reevaluation of the energy objectives. HT-7U is a superconducting tokamak. which is being constructed in Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The mission of the HT-7U project is to develop a scientific and engineering basis of the steady state operation of advanced tokamak.The engineering design of the device has been optimized. The R&D program is going on. Short samples of the conductor and a CS model coil were tested. All the TF and PF coils will be manufactured and tested in Institute of Plasma Physics. Therefore, a 600-meter long jacketing line for cable-in-conduit conductors along with two winding machines, a set of VPI equipment and a test facility for the TF and PF coils are ready in ASIPP now. In 2000, the IAEA initiated the International Project on Innovative Nuclear Reactors and Fuel Cycles, referred to as INPRO, following a resolution of the general conference. China is one of the members of the INPRO and mainly participants the joint study on assessment of an Innovative Nuclear Energy System based on a closed nuclear fuel cycle with fast reactors (CNFC-FR). The superconducting dipole prototype magnet of the collector ring for the Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) is an international cooperation project.The collaborative simulation and testing of the developed prototype magnet is presented in this paper.To evaluate the mechanical strength of the coil case during quench,a 3-dimensional (3D) electromagnetic (EM) model was developed based on the solid97 magnetic vector element in the ANSYS commercial software,which includes the air region,coil and yoke.EM analysis was carried out with a peak operating current at 278 A.Then,the solid97 element was transferred into the solid185 element,the coupled analysis was switched from electromagnetic to structural,and the finite element model for the coil case and glass-fiber reinforced composite (G10) spacers was established by the ANSYS Parametric Design Language based on the 3D model from the CATIA V5 software.However,to simulate the friction characteristics inside the coil case,the conta173 surface-to-surface contact element was established.The results for the coil case and G10 spacers show that they are safe and have sufficient strength,on the basis of testing in discharge and quench scenarios.  相似文献
