A thorough and systematic study has been performed for positronium (Ps) and helium (He) atom scattering using the first Born approximation. As a first step, the direct scattering has been studied. Here excitations of both the Ps atom and He atom, the ionization of the Ps atom with all the excitations of the He atom, the ionization of the He atom with all the excitations of the Ps atom and the ionizations of both the Ps and He atoms are taken into consideration. For the different states of the He atom, the wavefunctions suggested by Winter and Lin [Phys. Rev. A 12 (1975) 434] are used. For the ionization channels the continuum Coulomb wavefunctions have been taken for the ionized electrons.  相似文献

利用冷靶反冲离子动量谱仪,对低能He2+-He碰撞反应中产生的反冲靶离子和炮弹离子进行了符合测量,根据反冲靶离子的动量,研究了转移电离过程中的电荷转移机理.实验结果表明:在20—40 keV能量范围内,靶原子上的一个电子俘获到炮弹离子的基态,另一个电子直接发射到靶的连续态的直接电离及另一个电子俘获到炮弹离子的连续态的过程(ECC)是最主要的转移电离机理,且ECC过程主要发生在大碰撞参数条件下;炮弹离子俘获两个电子处在双激发态的自电离过程的贡献很小. 关键词: 冷靶反冲离子动量谱仪 转移电离机理 离子原子碰撞  相似文献

Close-coupling calculations are carried out for cross sections of the single electron capture in collisions of Nq+ (q = 5, 6, 7) ions with helium atoms in the collision velocity range from 0.3 a.u. to 1.8 a.u. The relative importances of the single ionization (SI) to the single capture (SC) are investigated for the Nq+ (q = 5, 6, 7) projectiles, respectively. The SI/SC cross section ratio for the N7+ projectile obtained from our calculations is in excellent agreement with the experimental data. The ratio curves also show us distinct behaviours when the charge of the projectile is different. The partial electron capture cross sections for different projectiles indicate that the electron on the target He atom tends to be captured by the projectile into its lower orbital of the outer shell with the decreasing projectile charge.  相似文献

Ionization of hydrogen and helium atoms is studied for the case of “soft” collisions with highly charged fast ions with vZ≪v2 and vv 0, where Z is the ion charge, v is the collision velocity, and v 0∼1 is the characteristic velocity of the electron in the ground state of the atom. Analytical expressions are derived for the singly and doubly differential cross section for ionization of a hydrogen atom accompanied by the ejection of a slow electron v ev 0, where v e is the velocity of the ejected electron with respect to the recoil ion). The results are generalized to the case of single ionization of helium. It is shown that soft collisions provide the main contribution to the hydrogen ionization cross section and for all practical purposes determine the cross section for single ionization of helium. The asymmetry in the angular distribution of the ejected slow electrons and the properties of momentum exchange in such collisions are discussed. The momentum space coupled channels optical(CCO) method for positron scattering has been extended to study the scattering of positrons by metastable helium for impact energies in the range from the positronium threshold up to high energies. Both the positronium formation and ionization continuum channels are included in the calculations via a complex equivalent local potential. The positronium formation, ionization, elastic and 2~3S–2~3P excitation, and total scattering cross sections are all presented and compared with the available information.  相似文献

Coulomb–Born approximation has been used to study three different types of ionization in positronium (Ps) and hydrogen scattering. The present Ps–H system contains four centers; we have considered all the Coulomb interactions and neglected exchange assuming the fact that at relatively higher energies above thresholds, the effect of exchange is not so important. All the important target elastic and inelastic channels are included. The non-unitarity problem in the target elastic channels, discussed by McAlinden et al. in 1996 in their positronium–atom scattering studies is overcomed in the present calculation using the orthonormality properties of target wavefunctions and a simple algebra. Comparative studies are made among ionization cross sections with different target excitations and different Ps-excitations together with summed Ps-ionization, summed H-ionization, both-ionization, summed excitation, total ionization and total cross sections. The present Letter indicates the importance of all the three different types of ionization and the importance of target elastic channels in Ps–H scattering.  相似文献

The antiproton is a unique projectile in the study of atomic collision physics. With an aim to produce an antiproton beam at atomic-physics energies for ‘pure’ collision experiments, we have so far developed techniques to decelerate, cool and confine antiprotons in vacuo. Our recent success in stable extraction of the beam has opened up the possibility to study ionization and atomic capture processes between an antiproton and an atom at an unprecedented low energy from 10 eV to 1 keV under the single-collision condition. We have prepared a powerful supersonic helium gas jet to be crossed with the antiproton beam. The reaction rate is of the order of 10???4, and rigorous identification of particles is required for reduction of huge background counts. The reaction events are recognized by an electron signal followed by antiproton annihilation with an appropriate interval in the time of flight. Our design and strategy of the experiment are presented.  相似文献

We have recently measured total cross sections for 5 to 302 eV positrons scattered by atomic hydrogen using a beam transmission technique. A check for consistency is made between these measurements and prior measurements of positronium formation and ionization cross sections by making use of available theoretical calculations of elastic and excitation cross sections for positron-atomic hydrogen scattering.  相似文献

The double and single ionization cross section ratios of helium by partially stripped carbon, oxygen and fluorine ions are measured for projectile charge states ranging from +1 to +4 and impact energies from 1.5 MeV to 7.5 MeV. The effective charge effect in partially stripped ion-helium collisions is studied. It is found that the effective charge qeff increases as the impinging energy increases and q eff shows a modest dependence upon the projectile charge state in the present energy range. The projectile charge state, projectile energy, projectile and target electronic state dependences of the effective charge effect may be explained using orbital interpenetrating.  相似文献

利用数值方法求解含时薛定谔方程,研究了一维、二维模型氢原子和真实的三维氢原子在强激光场中产生的高次谐波和电离特性.结果表明,在多光子电离区域和过垒电离区域,模型氢原子与真实的氢原子产生的高次谐波和电离概率差别很小;在隧道电离区域,它们产生的高次谐波的平台特征和截止位置相似,电离概率随时间变化的趋势相近,但其数值有明显的差异.对产生这种差异的原因进行了分析. 关键词: 强激光场 高次谐波 电离概率  相似文献

通过对氦原子和类氦离子电离能数据的分析 ,找到了一个能够快速计算类氦体系基态能量的经验公式 ,验算了一些类氦离子 (Z=2— 1 5 )的基态能量 ,与实验测量值符合得很好。除了 Li 和 Be 的基态能量的相对偏差为 0 .4 46 %外 ,其他的都低于 0 .4 %。  相似文献

The ionization and high-harmonic generation in hydrogen and helium by using quantum (hydrodynamic) trajectories is analyzed theoretically. The quantum trajectories are introduced in the frame of a new time-dependent quantum Monte Carlo technique that allows a self-contained ab initio treatment of the electron correlation effects without introducing parametrized correlation potentials into the Schrödinger equation. Our approach predicts correct ionization, high-harmonic spectra, and attosecond pulses generated by a helium atom beyond the single active electron approximation. It can be used to study complex multi-electron systems in arbitrary dimensions and their interaction with laser fields of both low and high intensity.  相似文献

The quantum entanglement for the two electrons in three-body atomic systems such as the helium atom, the hydrogen negative ion and the positronium negative ion are investigated by employing highly correlated Hylleraas functions to represent the ground states of such systems. As a measure of the spatial entanglement, the linear entropy of the reduced density matrix is calculated for the ground states. The required four-electron (12-dimensional) integrals are solved analytically such that they are suitable for machine computations. To improve the Coulomb-Born approximation (CBA) theory of ionization in positronium (Ps) and atom scattering, the effect of exchange is introduced. The nine-dimensional exchange amplitude for ionization of Ps in Ps—H scattering is reduced to a two-dimensional integral using the present Coulomb-Born-Oppenheimer approximation (CBOA). The methodology is extremely useful to evaluate ionization parameters for different target systems and for different types of ionization processes. It is then applied to evaluate the Ps-ionization cross-section and to estimate the effect of exchange on Psionization in Ps-H system. A three-parameter correlated wave function for the helium ground state is used to study the scattering reaction , where Ps stands for positronium atom. An exact analytical expression is constructed for the first Born scattering amplitude for Ps formation from helium. Based on this numerical results are presented for both differential and total cross-sections. It is demonstrated that the inner electronic correlation of the target atom plays a crucial role in explaining the discrepency between theory and experiment. The values of direct double- to-single ionization ratio R of helium atoms induced by C^q+, O^q+ (q = 1 -4) ions at incident energies from 0.2 to 8.5MeV are measured. Based on the existing model (Shao J X, Chen X M and Ding B W 2007 Phys. Rev. A 75 012701) the effective charge of the projectile is introduced to theoretically estimate the value of R for the partially stripped ions impacting on helium atoms. The results calculated from our "effective charge" model are in good agreement with the experimental data, and the dependence of the effective charge on the ionization energy of the projectile is also discussed qualitatively.  相似文献

The triply differential cross section of molecular hydrogen for ionization by 50 eV positrons has been determined, for the first time, for both the ejected electron in coincidence with the remnant ion and for the scattered projectile. Asymmetries in the energy sharing between the two light particles in the final state are observed, with the electron spectrum being shifted to significantly lower (and the scattered positron to correspondingly higher) energies than expected. A similar shape is observed in the case of the ejected electron spectrum from a helium target at the same excess energy.  相似文献
