Although there are advantages for use of internet based survey research over other formats, there remains in question whether survey mode influences the data measurement equivalency. While most research exploring survey format finds little or no difference in measurement equivalency, the interaction of sensitive topics and survey modality is not fully understood. Additionally, research suggests gender differences in item response on sensitive topics. The present study examined archival data from a college health survey using both online and paper-pencil survey formats. The interaction was evaluated between gender, survey format, and item sensitivity level. Results indicate that question topic sensitivity has a large effect on missing data, and survey format has a moderate effect. These findings have necessary implications for survey design and outcome interpretations. 相似文献

In any geoscience survey, each survey technique must be effectively applied, and many techniques are often combined optimally. An important task is to get necessary and sufficient information to meet the requirement of the survey. A prize–penalty function quantifies effectiveness of the survey, and hence can be used to determine the best survey technique. On the other hand, an information-cost function can be used to determine the optimal combination of survey techniques on the basis of the geoinformation obtained. Entropy is available to evaluate geoinformation. A simple model suggests the possibility that low-resolvability techniques are generally applied at early stages of survey, and that higher-resolvability techniques should alternate with lower-resolvability ones with the progress of the survey. 相似文献

The lower response rate in web surveys has been a major concern for survey researchers. The literature has sought to identify a wide variety of factors that affect response rates in web surveys. In this article, we developed a conceptual model of the web survey process and use the model to systematically review a wide variety of factors influencing the response rate in the stage of survey development, survey delivery, survey completion, and survey return. In this paper, we survey the adoption of the platform for privacy preferences protocol (P3P) on Internet Web sites to determine if P3P is a growing or stagnant technology. We conducted a pilot survey in February 2005 and our full survey in November 2005. We compare the results from these two surveys and the previous (July 2003) survey of P3P adoption. In general, we find that P3P adoption is stagnant, and errors in P3P documents are a regular occurrence. In addition, very little maintenance of P3P policies is apparent. These observations call into question P3P's viability as an online privacy-enhancing technology. Our survey exceeds other previous surveys in our use of both detailed statistical analysis and scope; our February pilot survey analyzed more than 23,000 unique Web sites, and our full survey in November 2005 analyzed more than 100,000 unique Web sites. 相似文献

在进行作物形态测量的研究中对叶片长度的测量要求较高的测量精度。而有关长度测量的算法较少,其中较为常用的是利用链码来进行曲线长度的测量算法,该算法要求对图像上的玉米叶子进行预处理之后,才能进行对叶片长度的测量,然而由于细化操作的误差和链码描述曲线的误差,无法满足对任意叶片长度的测量精度要求。基于以上需求,提出了一种利用抛物样条曲线和数值积分进行任意曲线长度测量的算法,该算法可以直接对图像上的玉米叶片进行长度测量,而测量之前无需对图像进行任何预处理,避免了细化操作和链码描述导致的误差,其测量精度满足了该项目的要求。经实验该算法的平均测量相对误差可以控制在1%以内。由于该算法理论上基于数学,所以具有较高的可靠性,可应用于对测量速度要求不高,而对测量精度要求较高,测量结果稳定性要求较好的其它项目之中。 相似文献

随着海洋地质调查程度的不断深入,海洋地质调查业务越来越多,如何合理地管理使用海洋地质调查数据成为研究热点。文章以面向对象的思想为基础,借鉴POSCEpicentre数据模型和中国石化石油勘探开发数据模型建设思路,提出了面向业务的海洋地质应用模型标准体系架构,介绍了海洋地质调查数据库应用模型的构建方法,对海洋地质调查业务进行系统的分析,详细描述了海洋地质业务模型的分析方法,设计了逻辑模型的构建流程。以海洋地质调查地球物理业务为例,构建了其业务模型和逻辑模型,可以弥补现有海洋地质数据库系统存在的缺陷,提高数据服务的效率。 相似文献

Information visualization is a rapidly evolving field with a growing volume of scientific literature and texts continually published. To keep abreast of the latest developments in the domain, survey papers and state‐of‐the‐art reviews provide valuable tools for managing the large quantity of scientific literature. Recently, a survey of survey papers was published to keep track of the quantity of refereed survey papers in information visualization conferences and journals. However, no such resources exist to inform readers of the large volume of books being published on the subject, leaving the possibility of valuable knowledge being overlooked. We present the first literature survey of information visualization books that addresses this challenge by surveying the large volume of books on the topic of information visualization and visual analytics. This unique survey addresses some special challenges associated with collections of books (as opposed to research papers) including searching, browsing and cost. This paper features a novel two‐level classification based on both books and chapter topics examined in each book, enabling the reader to quickly identify to what depth a topic of interest is covered within a particular book. Readers can use this survey to identify the most relevant book for their needs amongst a quickly expanding collection. In indexing the landscape of information visualization books, this survey provides a valuable resource to both experienced researchers and newcomers in the data visualization discipline. 相似文献

Developing a well-designed market survey questionnaire will ensure that surveyors get the information they need about the target market. Traditional sampling survey via questionnaire, which rates item by linguistic variables, possesses the vague nature. It has difficulty in reflecting interviewee’s incomplete and uncertain thought. Therefore, if we can use fuzzy sense to express the degree of interviewee’s feelings based on his own concept, the sampling result will be closer to interviewee’s real thought. In this study, we propose the fuzzy sense on sampling survey to do aggregated assessment analysis. As organizations such as the US Navy move toward web-based survey administration, it is important to determine whether responses to sensitive questions are equivalent regardless of the administration method. It is possible that having to enter a military website and provide a username to access the survey might increase anonymity and confidentiality concerns, thereby increasing the likelihood of response distortion. Although previous research has shown that self-administered questionnaires (both paper- and computer-based) generally result in equivalent responses, to date little research has investigated the effects of asking sensitive information in a web-based survey format. In order to test for potential response bias, a survey was created containing questions about family planning attitudes and birth control usage, impression management and self-deception scales, and privacy and confidentiality concerns. Paper surveys were sent to about 3300 randomly selected enlisted Navy personnel while another 3300 received an invitational letter to a survey website. In general, the results show few differences between web-based and paper-based survey responses, demonstrating that sensitive data can be collected via web-based surveys without significantly influencing the honesty of survey responses. In addition, the perceived levels of privacy and confidentiality did not result in a significant difference between the responses provided. 相似文献

针对传统电力资产普查与隐患排查机制存在设备全生命周期成本核算数据归集困难、运维资产台账资料管理粗放、主配网增存量运维数据共享机制缺失、资产普查与隐患排查数据治理及全景追溯具有滞后性等固有弊端,提出了一种基于实物ID业务协同和数据共享机制的资产普查与隐患排查系统。引入电网实物资产统一身份编码机制,实现电网主配网存量全息运维数据的一键式获取,引入开放式数据共享接口与主配网存量设备隐患指数预测曲线,构建具备编码自动分配与一致性校验、隐患排查信息完整可追溯、跨系统贯通与平台可移植、全息数据深度聚类分析与主动预警等功能的电力资产全局协同精准化管理架构。以国家电网内蒙古东部电力有限公司某220 kV变电站为效能评价载体,开发了资产普查与隐患排查原型系统并进行了综合效能实证分析,一线运维验证结果表明原型系统具备电力设备全息数据便捷获取与融合、电力资产普查台账实时更新、隐患排查数据的实时反馈与预警等全方位立体电力资产普查与隐患排查体系效能,主配网设备物料分类、增存量设备分类、资产普查分类、隐患排查分级预警等多码对应的一致率达100%,实现了电力资产全息数据全维度收集、全过程追踪、全方位共享。 相似文献
