Results from the initial operation of a high-power quasi-optical gyrotron based on the 90-kV, 50-A Varian VUW-8144 electron gun are reported. The output power and efficiency have been measured for a resonator mirror separation of 19.4 cm with a magnetic field of 4.95 T, corresponding to resonator output coupling of 1.9%, and for a resonator mirror separation of 21.4 cm with a magnetic field of 4.7 T, corresponding to a resonator output coupling of 3.1%. Operation was multimoded with 3-6 modes excited in the range of 125-130 GHz for the 4.95-T magnetic field. A peak efficiency of 15% at an output power of 161 kW was obtained for a gun voltage of 93 kV and a current of 12 A. A peak-output power of 364 kW at an efficiency of 10% was obtained at a voltage of 95.6 kV and 37.5 A  相似文献

 研究了群聚电子注穿越同轴TM812模谐振腔的换能效率和同轴TM812模谐振腔中微波能量的提取方法,论证了其作为毫米波多注速调管的输出腔的可行性。研究结果表明:理想群聚电子注穿越同轴TM812模谐振腔的换能效率可达3.29%,一般群聚电子注穿越同轴TM812模谐振腔的换能效率可达1.86%;采用同轴TM812模谐振腔与沿轴向的同轴线耦合可以实现微波能量的提取;在输出腔工作频率为100.945 GHz,外观品质因数为2 243情形下,根据估算,最大输出功率可达15 kW。  相似文献

It is established here that kinetically enhanced copper vapor lasers (KE-CVLs) based on large-bore discharge tubes can provide high (>1.4%) efficiency at ∼9-10 kHz rep-rate with very low (<2 kW/l) specific input power. Comparative performance of various large-bore kinetically enhanced copper vapor lasers in the range 45-70 mm is presented for most suitable discharge tube. Maximum output power of ∼100 W was achieved with efficiency of about 1.55% at 10 kHz rep-rate from the 60 mm bore KE-CVL. The pulse to pulse efficiency of the KE-CVL was ∼2%, tube efficiency ∼2.1%, and laser pulse energy was about ∼10 mJ. These results show significant advancement in the laser system as an elemental high temperature CVL due to volumetric scaling and KE-effects combined with very low specific input power of ∼1.65 kW/l as compared to 8-9 kW/l normally required in other kinetically enhanced copper vapor lasers to generate ∼100 W output power. Performance of the KE-CVL with 3 new cavity configurations namely, (1) CAT-EYE resonator (2) hybrid resonator, and (3) modified diffraction coupled resonator with dot mirrors are presented for the first here. CAT-EYE resonator was demonstrated to achieve high misalignment tolerance without significant loss of power. A typical drift in power of ∼5% was observed with misalignment responsible for 40% decline in power in case of standard plane-plane cavity. Effect of resonator misalignment on amplifier output drift was also investigated using CAT-EYE resonator in oscillator-amplifier configuration. In case of using stable-unstable hybrid resonator, high magnification of M ∼ 1500 was realized resulting in extremely low divergence (∼0.08 mrad) beam with modest (∼20%) loss in average power. In case of modified DCR cavity, record power of about 48 W was achieved with beam divergence of about 0.1 mrad on using intra-cavity 2 × 2 array of 4 dot mirrors.  相似文献

报道了一种腔内六棒串接的脉冲Nd:YAG激光器。采用44矩阵对晶体棒失调角度对谐振腔光轴的影响进行了理论分析,给出了六棒串接脉冲激光器中晶体棒失调角度的允许范围。在串接实验中,谐振腔采用对称平平腔结构,通过调整每根晶体棒的失调角度到允许范围内,实现了六棒串接脉冲Nd:YAG激光器。在输入电功率86 kW,占空比17%时,获得了平均功率3 018 W的脉冲激光输出,峰值功率17.75 kW,最高单脉冲能量为66 J,光束参数乘积为26.3 mmmrad,电光转换效率3.5%,长时间工作不稳定性小于2%。  相似文献

为减少热透镜效应的影响, 获得高光束质量的激光, 本文利用激光二极管阵列双端直接抽运Nd:YVO4, 采用负支共焦折叠混合腔结构, 获得最高功率为416 W 1064 nm的激光输出, 光–光转换效率为54.3%, 斜效率为61.6%. 在输出功率为370 W时, 光束质量因子M2在非稳腔和稳腔方向上分别为3.9和4.7.  相似文献

研制了一台LD侧面抽运Nd:YAP腔内三倍频447.1 nm脉冲蓝光激光器.采用列阵高频激光二极管侧面抽运Nd:YAP晶体,使用V型折叠腔,LN晶体电光调Q,输出高峰值功率的1 341.4 nm偏振基频光.选取KTP晶体Ⅱ类临界相位匹配倍频,获得670.7 nm红光.使用LBO晶体Ⅰ类临界相位匹配把670.7 nm的倍频光与1 341.4 nm的基频光进行和频,获得三倍频447.1 nm的蓝光输出.实验结果表明:优化后的V型折叠腔,可提高非线性转换效率,在平均抽运功率92.4 W时,获得了平均功率887 mW、峰值功率17.7 kW、脉宽50 ns的偏振蓝光输出,光-光转换效率为0.96%.  相似文献

A compact, high power and high beam quality diode-end-pumped CW Nd:YVO4 slab 1064 nm laser with a hybrid resonator is demonstrated. The maximum output power of 23.0 W is obtained under the pump power of 66.7 W, which gives the slope efficiency and optical conversion efficiency of 52.0 and 34.0%, respectively. The beam quality M2 factors are measured to be 1.5 in the unstable direction and 1.7 in the stable direction. The power stability of the LD end-pumped slab laser at an output power of 19 W is measured to be 0.7% for half an hour operation.  相似文献

Unstable resonators provide high quality beams of high output power needed for material processing. We have developed a CO2 laser of over 5 kW for material processing with an unstable resonator of positive confocal configuration under high-pressure, sealed condition. High quality beams with high extraction efficiency of the power were obtained and deep pentration was attained in welding tests.  相似文献

We present an efficient high-power quasicontinuous-wave (QCW) all-solid-state laser at 532 nm with a simple and compact symmetrical resonator. We design a stable green laser at 532 nm with an average power of 123 W and a repetition rate of 10 kHz by combining a single side-pumped Nd:YAG laser module with a type II LBO crystal for intracavity frequency doubling. The corresponding electrical-to-green conversion efficiency is 12.5%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest electrical-to-green efficiency in 532 nm lasers with above 100 W output power ever reported. The pulse width is 62 ns at 123 W, so the peak power is calculated up to 198.4 kW. Such a compact and efficient resonator is promising for integration into laser-application systems.  相似文献

 利用半导体激光器(LD)连续单端泵浦Nd:YVO4晶体,实现了声光调Q输出1 064nm的短脉冲。分析并用实验验证了不同透过率输出耦合镜及不同重复频率条件下,输出调Q脉冲能量、脉冲宽度及平均输出功率的规律。在泵浦功率为20.7W,重复频率为50kHz时,获得了最大平均输出功率为5.72W的脉冲,光 光转换效率为28%,斜效率为32.4%;在重复频率为10kHz时,最大单脉冲能量为0.286mJ,脉宽为22ns,峰值功率为13kW。  相似文献

设计了一种工作在W波段的振荡器。采用宽高比值为2的薄矩形电子注降低空间电荷效应,周期耦合腔慢波线作为高频结构以增加功率容量,阶梯渐变矩形波导作为输出结构,使输出结构与高频结构匹配连接减少反射。利用三维PIC粒子模拟程序进行数值模拟,分析慢波结构的周期数及周期长度对输出功率、频率及效率的影响。结果表明:当阴极电压为13.0~16.1 kV时,谐振腔能正常工作;谐振腔周期数为9,阴极电压为15.7 kV时输出功率和转换效率最大,输出峰值功率大于1.9 kW,平均功率为980 W,频率为91.6 GHz,转换效率达25%,输出频率随谐振腔周期长度的减小而增大。  相似文献

Here, we report on the development of an efficient, high peak power lamp pumped Nd:YAG laser with time-shared fiber optic beam delivery. A maximum average output power of 270 W with 100 J maximum pulse energy and 5 kW peak power has been achieved with an electrical to laser conversion efficiency of 5.4%, which is on higher side for typical lamp pumped solid-state lasers. We have improved efficiency by spectral conversion and water flow optimization in the pump cavity, with a resulting beam quality comparable to commercial systems of similar power level. The resonator has been designed for stable operation from single-shot to 200 Hz repetition rate. A study of pulse-to-pulse laser energy stability for different resonator configurations has also been performed. The resonator was designed to achieve a good beam quality for the whole range of operation with a maximum beam parameter product of 15 mm mrad (M245). A simple mechanism for time-shared fiber optic port selection has also been devised. Material processing applications such as cutting of stainless steel sheets up to 14 mm thickness and welding of metals such as carbon steel with weld depths up to 2 mm using the developed laser system has also been reported.  相似文献

By using a holographic grating specifically optimized for grazing incidence, it is possible to use an FP etalon in a dye laser resonator with grazing incidence. A spectral width of 4 pm with a power output of 31 kW is generated in stable operation. A diode-pumped acousto-optically Q-switched intracavity frequency-doubled Nd:GdVO4/KTP green laser formed with a flat–flat resonator was demonstrated. 3.05 W of average green output power at pulse repetition frequency (PRF) of 40 kHz was obtained with an optical conversion efficiency of 18.4%, the effective intracavity frequency-doubling efficiency was 57%. At the incident pump power of 15 W, the shortest laser pulse occurred at PRF of 25 kHz with FWHM width of 14 ns, yielding the highest peak power of 7.44 kW; while the largest pulse energy of 0.14 mJ was achieved at PRF of 15 kHz.  相似文献

The 810-nm InGaA1As/A1GaAs double quantum well (QW) semiconductor lasers with asymmetric waveguide structures, grown by molecular beam epitaxy, show high quantum efficiency and high-power conversion efficiency at continuous-wave (CW) power output. The threshold current density and slope efficiency of the device are 180 A/cm2 and 1.3 W/A, respectively. The internal loss and the internal quantum efficiency are 1.7 cm-1 and 93%, respectively. The 70% maximum power conversion efficiency is achieved with narrow far-field patterns.  相似文献

A high-power Er:YAG laser that is in-band pumped by a high-power cladding-pumped erbium-ytterbium codoped fiber laser operating at 1532 nm is reported. The Er:YAG laser produced 60.3 W of continuous-wave output at 1645.3 nm in a beam with M2 approximately equal to 3 for 82 W of incident pump power and 20 W of TEM00 output with M2 < 1.2 for 32.4 W of incident pump power. The slope efficiency with respect to incident pump power at pump powers of >20 W was approximately 81%. In the Q-switched mode of operation, a slightly modified resonator configuration incorporating an electro-optic Q switch produced pulses of approximately 4 mJ energy and approximately 100 ns (FWHM) duration, corresponding to a peak power of approximately 42 kW at a repetition rate of 1 kHz for an incident pump power of 16.8 W. The prospects for further improvement in continuous-wave and Q-switched performance are discussed.  相似文献

We demonstrated a 36.9 W green laser with an intra-cavity second harmonic generation. A compact unstable V type cavity was adopted to compress the whole cavity configuration. The type I phase-matching LiB3O5 was used as the nonlinear crystal in the second harmonic generation. The 36.9 W average power and 38 ns pulse width of 532 nm green laser was obtained at a repetition rate of 10.3 kHz, corresponding to a peak power of 94 kW. The optical to optical conversion efficiency from diode to green and from IR to green laser was about 19.8 and 82%, the whole cavity length is about 300 mm. To the best of our knowledge, this is the shortest cavity configuration of side pump green system with output power higher than 30 W and IR to green conversion efficiency larger than 80%. The output fluctuation of this system was less than 3% in 2 h.  相似文献
