TiO2, TiO2/Ag and TiO2/Au photocatalysts exhibiting a hollow spherical morphology were prepared by spray pyrolysis of aqueous solutions of titanium citrate complex and titanium oxalate precursors in one-step. Effects of precursor concentration and spray pyrolysis temperature were investigated. By subsequent heat treatment, photocatalysts with phase compositions from 10 to 100% rutile and crystallite sizes from 12 to 120 nm were obtained. A correlation between precursor concentration and size of the hollow spherical agglomerates obtained during spray pyrolysis was established. The anatase to rutile transformation was enhanced with metal incorporations and increased precursor concentration. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by oxidation of methylene blue under UV-irradiation. As-prepared TiO2 particles with large amounts of amorphous phase and organic residuals showed similar photocatalytic activity as the commercial Degussa P25. The metal incorporated samples showed comparable photocatalytic activity to the pure TiO2 photocatalysts.  相似文献

The photocatalytic degradation of polyethylene (PE) plastic was carried out directly under the sunlight irradiation with polypyrrole/TiO2 (PPy/TiO2) nanocomposite as photocatalyst, which prepared by sol-gel and emulsion polymerization methods. The photocatalytic degradation efficiency was determined by weight loss monitoring, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), atomic force microscopic (AFM) and FT-IR analysis. The photocatalytic degradations of PE plastic with pure TiO2 and PPy were also investigated and compared with that of PPy/TiO2. It was noticed that irradiating the PE plastic for 240 h by sunlight reduced its weight up to 35.4% and 54.4% of M w, respectively. The AFM images showed the formation of cavities on PE plastic surface. FT–IR spectroscopic studies indicated that a strong interaction existed between the interface of PE and PPy/TiO2 and caused the degradation of PE. The photocatalytic degradation mechanism was also discussed briefly.  相似文献

TiO2 nanoparticles on calcined sewage sludge (TiO2/sludge) were prepared by the sol-gel method and were fully characterized. The photocatalytic efficiency of TiO2/sludge was evaluated by tartrazine dye degradation by halide lamp. TiO2/sludge exhibited a high photocatalytic oxidation efficiency (more than 90%) of tartrazine compared with naked TiO2 (less than 20%) due to the synergy effect of sewage sludge. The optimization of experimental conditions was 0.5 g/l TiO2/Sludge, pH 8 with 50 mg/l tartrazine dye. The addition of sewage sludge to TiO2 improves the efficiency of dye mineralization. The prepared catalyst showed easier separation and effective reuse.  相似文献

TiO2 particles supported on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were prepared using a sol–gel method to investigate their photocatalytic activity under simulated solar irradiation for the degradation of methyl orange (MO) in aqueous solution. The prepared composites were analyzed using XRD, SEM, EDS and UV–vis absorption spectroscopy. The results of this study indicated that there was little difference in the shape and structure of MWCNTs/TiO2 composite and pure TiO2 particles. The composite exhibited enhanced absorption properties in the visible light range compared to pure TiO2. The degradation of MO by MWCNTs/TiO2 composite photocatalysts was investigated under irradiation with simulated solar light. The results of this study indicated that MWCNTs played a significant role in improving photocatalytic performance. Different amounts of MWCNTs had different effects on photodegradation efficiency, and the most efficient MO photodegradation was observed for a 2% MWCNT/TiO2 mass ratio. Photocatalytic reaction kinetics were described using the Langmuir–Hinshelwood (L–H) model. The photocatalyst was reused for eight cycles, and it retained over 95.2% photocatalytic degradation efficiency. Possible decomposition mechanisms were also discussed. The results of this study indicated that photocatalytic reactions with TiO2 particles supported on MWCNTs under simulated solar light irradiation are feasible and effective for degrading organic dye pollutants.  相似文献

Highly ordered titanium nanotubes (TiO2 NTs) photocatalyst was prepared by the anodic oxidation method, and AgS, CdS, and AgS/CdS nanoparticles were doped on the surface of TiO2 NTs by the successive ion adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method. The photocatalysts were characterized by SEM, EDS, XRD, and potentiostat system. The SEM and EDS analyses respectively show that the average outer diameter of prepared photocatalysts is in the range of 50–120?nm, and the presence of Ti, O, Ag, and Cd is successfully proved. The photocatalytic properties of TiO2 NTs and doped TiO2 NTs were studied by measuring the degradation of Methylene Blue (MB) solution. The experimental results show that AgS/CdS/TiO2 photocatalyst exhibited most efficient photocatalytic activity with 340?µA/cm2 photocurrent value. AgS/CdS/TiO2 NTs photocatalyst shows up to 22.20% higher than TiO2 NTs, 16.42% higher than CdS/TiO2 NTs, and 4.3% higher than AgS/TiO2 NTs.  相似文献

La3+/WO3/TiO2/sep composites have been prepared by the sol–gel method. The degradation of dye was studied under the influence of various operational parameters such as initial pH, amounts of catalyst, concentrations of the dye, and ozone flow rate. The mineralization of Reactive Orange 122 has been confirmed by chemical oxygen demand measurements. The color removal of dye was found to follow a pseudo–first-order kinetics. Maximum color and chemical oxygen demand removal were 99.9% and 90% respectively, at a dye concentration of 200 mg/L, ozone flow rate of 2.0 L/min., 0.05 g/L weight of catalyst, and pH of 6.9 in 4 h. In addition, the catalyst was characterized by X-ray diffraction spectra, Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and a transmission electron microscope. This work could be a good candidate as a practical application for photocatalytic dye degradation.  相似文献

The composite photocatalyst comprising p-type NiO and n-type TiO2 showed improved photoactivity due to the inhibition of electron–hole recombination. A series of P–N junction photocatalysts, NiO/TiO2, were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation. The photocatalysts were characterized by UV–vis spectroscopy, XRD and XPS. The photoactivity of photocatalysts was tested by the degradation of methylene blue. The results showed that 0.5 wt.% NiO/TiO2 had the highest activity as compared with TiO2. A P–N junction mechanism was proposed and verified that the photocurrent could be enhanced under forward bias in the NiO/TiO2 film. The photoactivity enhancement is attributed to P–N junction and co-catalyst effects.  相似文献

A simple and straightforward approach to prepare TiO2-coated carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is presented. Anatase TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) with the average size ~8 nm were coated on CNTs from peroxo titanic acid (PTA) precursor even at low temperature of 100 °C. We demonstrate the effects of CNTs/TiO2 molar ratio on the adsorption capability and photocatalytic efficiency under UV–visible irradiation. The samples showed not only good optical absorption in visible range, but also great adsorption capacity for methyl orange (MO) dye molecules. These properties facilitated the great enhancement of photocatalytic activity of TiO2 NPs-coated CNTs photocatalysts. The TiO2 NPs-coated CNTs exhibited 2.45 times higher photocatalytic activity for MO degradation than that of pure TiO2.  相似文献

A highly sunlight active Ni-loaded TiO2 nanocomposite (Ni/TiO2) is successfully prepared by a simple chemical reduction method using tetrabutyl titanate as a precursor, Ni(NO3)2·6H2O as a nickel source, and N2H4·H2O as a reductant, respectively. The crystal structure, morphology and UV–vis diffuse reflectance characteristics are investigated by XRD, TEM, and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, while the photocatalytic performance of Ni/TiO2 is evaluated by photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange solution under UV and sunlight irradiation. Results show that the crystal structure of TiO2 is not changed upon the loading of Ni, the photocatalytic performance of TiO2 under both UV-light and sunlight, however, is enhanced greatly. The enhancement of the photocatalytic performance of Ni/TiO2 is attributed to the increase of the photogenerated electron–hole separation efficiency and the advanced absorption of light due to surface plasmon effect of Ni nanoparticles.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline I-F-codoped TiO2 was prepared by a sol-gel-impregnation method, using tetrabutylorthotitanate in a mixed NH4I-NH4F aqueous solution. The as-prepared TiO2 was characterized with UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectra, X-ray diffraction and nitrogen adsorption. The degradation of methylene blue (MB) over as-prepared TiO2 in aqueous solution under simulated sunlight irradiation was remarkably enhanced by codoping with I and F. The effects of codoping and calcination temperature on the photocatalytic activity and microstructures were investigated. The photocatalytic activity of as-prepared I-F-codoped TiO2 was remarkably higher than that of pure, I-doped, and F-doped TiO2 when the molar ratios of I and F to Ti were kept in the value of 10. The influence of I-F-modification on the photocatalytic activity was discussed by considering the higher surface area, entire anatase phase, effective dopant content, and stronger absorbance of sunlight, corresponding to the higher quantum efficiency. In addition to a complete removal of color, the as-prepared TiO2 was simultaneously able to oxidize MB and small amounts of intermediates such as formic acid and phenol were detected. After prolonged sunlight irradiation some intermediates almost vanished, and MB appeared to be eventually mineralized to NH4+, NO3 and SO42−.  相似文献

Unique visible-light-responsive TiO2 photocatalysts (λ>450 nm) were successfully developed by implantation of V ions into the TiO2 thin films prepared on a quartz substrate by an ionized cluster beam (ICB) deposition method. After V ions implantation into TiO2 thin film, the photocatalytic activity of the thin films for the decomposition of formic acid into CO2 and H2O was found to proceed efficiently under visible light irradiation longer than 450 nm. The TiO2 thin film photocatalysts were characterized by XRD, UV-vis, XPS, FE-SEM and AFM.  相似文献

Photocatalytic activities of TiO2 films were experimentally studied. TiO2 films with different crystal structures (amorphous, anatase, rutile) were prepared by a Low Pressure Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition (LPMOCVD) at different reaction temperatures and also by a Sol-Gel method using TTIP (Titanium Tetra Iso-Pro-poxyde). The Effect of CVD preparation method, CVD reaction conditions, crystal structure and wave-length of UV light on the photocatalytic decomposition rate of methylene blue in aqueous solution were studied. First, the characteristics of CVD preparation of TiO2 films, such as the CVD film growth rate, crystal structure and morphology of the grown TiO2 films, were experimentally studied as a function of CVD reaction temperature. Secondly, photocatalytic activities of TiO2 films were evaluated by using two types of photo-reactors. The results indicated that TiO2 films prepared by CVD exhibit higher photocatalytic activity than a catalyst prepared by the Sol-Gel method. Among the CVD grown TiO2 films, anatase and rutile showed high photocatalytic activities. However, amorphous TiO2 films showed lower activities. The activity of the photocatalysts of anatase films was excellent under all types of UV-lamps. The activity of CVD-prepared anatase films was four to seven times higher than that of photocatalyst films prepared by the Sol-Gel method.  相似文献

FeTiO3/TiO2, a new heterojunction-type photocatalyst working at visible light, was prepared by a simple sol–gel method. Not only did FeTiO3/TiO2 exhibit greatly enhanced photocatalytic activity in decomposing 2-propanol in gas phase and 4-chlorophenol in aqueous solution, but also it induced efficient mineralization of 2-propanol under visible light irradiation (λ ≥ 420 nm). Furthermore, it showed a good photochemical stability in repeated photocatalytic applications. FeTiO3 showed a profound absorption over the entire visible range, and its valence band (VB) position is close to that of TiO2. The unusually high photocatalytic efficiency of the FeTiO3/TiO2 composite was therefore deduced to be caused by hole transfer between the VB of FeTiO3 and TiO2.  相似文献

In this study, highly effective B-doped, Ni-doped and B–Ni-codoped TiO2 microspheres photocatalysts were directly synthesized via an aerosol-assisted flow synthesis method. The resulting samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, nitrogen adsorption and XPS. The characterizations revealed hollow microspherical structure of the B-doped and B–Ni-codoped TiO2 photocatalysts, while the Ni-doped and undoped TiO2 products consisted of solid microspheres. It was found that the boron dopant was partially embedded into the interstitial TiO2 structure, existing in the form of Ti–O–B structure. The band gap was enlarged after the boron doping. However, both Ni-doped and B–Ni-codoped TiO2 samples showed obvious red shift in their absorption edges because of the Ni doping. The photocatalytic activities of these samples were evaluated on the photocatalytic removal of NO under simulated solar light irradiation. All the aerosol-assisted flow synthesized samples had much higher photocatalytic activities than P25 and the doped TiO2 microspheres exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity than the undoped counterparts. More interestingly, the B–Ni-codoped TiO2 photocatalyst possessed superior photocatalytic activity to the as-prepared single doped TiO2 products. The enhanced photocatalytic activity was explained and the formation mechanisms of hollow and solid microspheres were also proposed on the basis of characterizations. We think this general method may be easily scaled up for industrial production of highly active microspherical photocatalysts for efficient NO removal under simulated solar light irradiation.  相似文献

A novel multi-gelation method to prepare TiO2 nano-particle photocatalysts showed good performance in controlling the important parameters determining the photocatalytic reactivity, i.e., the particle size, surface area, crystallinity, pore-volume, pore-diameter as well as the anatase and rutile phase composition of the catalysts. In particular, this method at higher pH swing times could prevent the phase transition from anatase to rutile, leading to higher photocatalytic activity. By adopting variations in the pH swing, the TiO2 nano-particle photocatalysts showed significantly higher photocatalytic reactivity for the complete oxidation of 2-propanol diluted with water into CO2 and H2O. It can be considered a viable alternative method for the preparation of high performance TiO2 nano-particle photocatalysts for widespread commercial applications.  相似文献

Recently, TiO2/multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) hybrid nanocatalysts have been a subject of high interest due to their excellent structures, large surface areas and peculiar optical properties, which enhance their photocatalytic performance. In this work, a modified microwave technique was used to rapidly synthesise a TiO2/MWCNT nanocatalyst with a large surface area. X-ray powder diffraction, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller measurements were used to characterise the structure, morphology and the surface area of the sample. The photocatalytic activity of the hybrid nanocatalysts was evaluated through a comparison of the degradation of methylene blue dye under irradiation with ultraviolet and visible light. The results showed that the TiO2/MWCNT hybrid nanocatalysts degraded 34.9% of the methylene blue (MB) under irradiation with ultraviolet light, whereas 96.3% of the MB was degraded under irradiation with visible light.  相似文献

A series of S-doped TiO2 with visible-light photocatalytic activity were prepared by a simple hydrolysis method using titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4) and sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) as precursors. The photocatalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectrophotometer (UV–Vis DRS), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). With the doping of S, photocatalysts with small crystal size, high content of anatase phase were obtained. The result showed that S-doped TiO2 demonstrate considerably high photoactivity under low power visible LED light irradiation, while undoped TiO2 and the Degussa P25 have nearly no activity at all. The possible mechanism of S-doped for the visible-light activity was discussed.  相似文献

In this study, we developed an immobilized TiO2 semiconductor on an ITO glass substrate (TiO2/ITO) and investigated its photocatalytic and electrochemical performance. The TiO2/ITO samples were prepared via a spin-coating process followed by calcination and were used for the photocatalytic or electrochemical degradation of an organic dye pollutant. The measured photocatalytic performance was comparable to that reported in previous publications; however, a remarkable result was obtained in our electrochemical system. The formation of hydroxyl radicals (OH) strongly dominated the electrochemical system, which resulted in outstanding degradation performance. Therefore, we propose a commercializable photoelectrochemical system that can maximize the degradation of pollutants in wastewater treatment plants.  相似文献

TiO2 photocatalyst loaded on Si3N4 (TiO2/Si3N4) was prepared by a conventional impregnation method and its photocatalytic performance for the degradation of organics (2-propanol) diluted in water was compared with that of TiO2 photocatalysts (TiO2/SiO2, TiO2/Al2O3, and TiO2/SiC) loaded on various types of supports (SiO2, Al2O3, and SiC). The formation of the well-crystallized anatase phase of TiO2 was observed on the calcined TiO2/Si3N4 photocatalyst, while a small anatase phase of TiO2 was observed on the TiO2/SiC photocatalyst and amorphous TiO2 species was the main component on the TiO2/SiO2 and TiO2/Al2O3 photocatalysts. The measurements of the water adsorption ability of photocatalysts indicated that the TiO2/Si3N4 photocatalyst exhibited more hydrophobic surface properties in comparison to other support photocatalysts. Under UV-light irradiation, the TiO2/Si3N4 photocatalyst decomposed 2-propanol diluted in water into acetone, CO2, and H2O, and finally, acetone was also decomposed into CO2 and H2O. The TiO2/Si3N4 photocatalyst showed higher photocatalytic activity than TiO2 photocatalyst loaded on other supports. The well-crystallized TiO2 phase deposited on Si3N4 and the hydrophobic surface of Si3N4 support are important factors for the enhancement of photocatalytic activity for the degradation of organic compounds in liquid-phase reactions.  相似文献

Ag/TiO2 photocatalysts were prepared by a novel deposition precipitation method. Formation of Ag nanoparticles on the surface of TiO2 was confirmed by XRD, HRTEM and XPS. The photocatalytic activity of Ag/TiO2 was tested with the photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange and found effectively enhanced. The optimum content of Ag for photocatalytic activity is about 2.0 wt%.  相似文献
