Abstract:The present study was designed to study the clinical value of 3D orthopedic cloud imaging for fracture patients and attending physicians during perioperative period. A total of 150 fracture cases were studied and 3D orthopedic cloud images were provided for half of them. Corresponding questions were designed for patients’ awareness of their condition and surgical plan, the adequacy of preoperative planning by attending doctors, and the satisfaction of attending doctors for surgical results. Spearman coefficient correlation analysis and Ordinal Logistic regression analysis model were used to examine the clinical value of 3D orthopedic cloud imaging for patients and attending doctors. Correlation analysis showed that the use of 3D cloud images had significant differences in the medical conditions and surgical plan cognition of the patients with different levels of education, surgical complexity (P<0.05). There were significant differences in the adequacy of preoperative planning and satisfaction of postoperative results among attending doctors with different ranks, surgical complexity and use of 3D cloud imaging (P<0.05). Ordinal regression analysis showed that the factors influencing patients’ cognition of the condition and surgical plan included patients’ education level, surgical difficulty and the use of 3D cloud imaging. Factors influencing the adequacy of preoperative planning and surgical satisfaction of attending physicians were the rank of the physician, the difficulty of surgery, and the use of 3D cloud imaging. The use of 3D cloud imaging has a significant positive effect on patients’ understanding of the lesion and surgical plan. The use of 3D cloud imaging significantly influenced the attending clinicians to make adequate surgical plans and better post operative satisfaction. It is concluded that this technique can be used as a routine tool for attending clinicians.
