| Abstract: | To understand college students’ HPV awareness, attitude and vaccination willingness in North China to provide reference for HPV health education and vaccination promotion in colleges and universities. Methods This study used convenience sampling method and self-designed questionnaire to conduct a large-scale cross-sectional epidemiological research among college students in five cities in North China and analyzed the influencing factors of HPV vaccination acceptability. Results A total of 2 783(52.8%) college students heard of HPV, with significantly more female students than male students(2 148 vs 635, P<0.05). In total 2 933(55.6%) college students heard of the HPV vaccine, and female students had higher awareness than male students(59.6% vs 44.5%,P<0.05). In addition, 4 155(77.8%) college students were willing to receive HPV vaccine, of which 3 198(79.9%) students thought the cost of HPV vaccine was too high and should be shared by the government and individuals. Gender, major, and the awareness of HPV vaccine were the influencing factors of vaccination. Conclusion Chinese college students had poor knowledge about HPV and vaccine. HPV-related health education in colleges and universities is essential for local promotion of vaccines and cervical cancer prevention. |
